Curtain Pull: How Trump’s Election Produced a Moment of Unintended Honesty

Below is my column in Fox.com on the response of media figures to the Trump victory on election night. The meltdown was a moment of honesty for some in revealing the bias harbored by many in the industry. That curtain pull offered a glimpse of the Great Oz that some will be difficult to unsee.

Here is the column:

The philosopher Friedrich Nietzsche once said, “I’m not upset that you lied to me, I’m upset that from now on I can’t believe you.” Those words came to mind as leading scientific and media figures lost any semblance of restraint or neutrality in bemoaning the results of the presidential election. After regaining their composure, the public was told to ignore what they had just seen.

It was not surprising that the sweeping Trump victory last week produced near hysteria among some Harris supporters from women pledging to break up with men to others cutting off their hair to those pledging to flee the country (including one curiously announcing that he was “leaving the United States” for Hawaii).

It also may not be such a surprise that New York Gov. Kathy Hochul would label over half of the electorate as “anti-American” for voting for Trump or other Republican politicians. Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez announced that we are now officially moving into a dictatorship due to this democratic election.

It is the media elite that was most interesting to watch. Obviously, the response on MSNBC and CNN were expected as figures like contributor Claire McCaskill wept on air.

However, other news organizations like CBS News have long maintained claims of neutrality even as their networks were criticized for openly pushing the Harris-Walz ticket.  That included the alleged biased handling of the vice-presidential debate as CBS insisted that its hosts and journalists were completely neutral in the election.

Yet, after the election, there was CBS News anchor John Dickerson getting choked up on national television in an interview on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert. Dickerson chose to go on a show that has been openly anti-Trump for years. Nevertheless, many were surprised that, even days after the election, Dickerson was still overwhelmed by grief.

Colbert asked: “How would you explain that to a 14-year-old today? How would you explain this election?”

“I’ll try not to think about my boys because,” Dickerson started to respond before losing his composure.

It was one thing for these late-night hosts like Jimmy Kimmel to tear up over the results, but this is one of the top news figures on one of the three top networks.

Thus far there is no backlash at CBS. That is in sharp contrast to the recent controversy involving CBS News host Tony Dokoupil who was immediately criticized by CBS for his criticism of an author for his anti-Israeli views as showing bias. Dokoupil reportedly was pushed into an “emotional meeting” with network staffers upset with his perceived bias in favor of Israel.

So how does CBS feign neutrality when an anchor gets choked up at the thought of a Trump victory? The answer is easy: The public is told to ignore it and trust a journalist who cannot even discuss the election results without fighting back tears.

That message was even more jarring at Scientific American. Once a popular, science-based publication, the magazine has been increasingly criticized for its political slant and pseudoscientific views. Much of the blame has focused on Laura Helmuth, the editor-in-chief.

After the election, Helmuth had a raving, profanity-laden meltdown on social media.

She called Gen X voters f**king racists”. She dismissed “solidarity to everybody whose meanest, dumbest, most bigoted high-school classmates are celebrating early results because f**k them to the moon and back.” She even added a condemnation to her fellow Indianans as “racist and sexist” for voting for Trump.

The postings dispensed with faux claims of neutrality, and many again raised long-standing concerns over the magazine’s direction. Helmuth responded by deleting the comments and just telling readers to effectively forget she said it.

In fairness, Helmuth was trying to separate her personal views from those as the editor-in-chief. However, her “expression of shock and confusion about the election results” parallels what many have objected to the political turn of the magazine in recent years.

In 2020, Scientific American broke a 175-year tradition of non-partisanship to endorse Joe Biden in the presidential election. Conservatives have complained about the tenor and thrust of the magazine, which was once entirely apolitical.

The point is that Helmuth’s rage is not confined to her social media account.

The public is again being told to ignore the man behind the curtain. However, much of the public has already left.

As I discuss in my recent book, The Indispensable Right, many in the media and journalism schools expressly abandoned both objectivity and neutrality years ago. The result has been a plummeting of revenue and readership as the public turns to new media and other sources for their news.

At the Washington Post, publisher and CEO William Lewis put it bluntly by telling the staff, “Let’s not sugarcoat it…We are losing large amounts of money. Your audience has halved in recent years. People are not reading your stuff. Right? I can’t sugarcoat it anymore.”

Nevertheless, almost immediately after Trump won, the Post ran an editorial titled “The second resistance to Trump must start now.”

The problem is that, when “people are not reading your stuff,” fewer may be inclined to join a second resistance after rejecting the first resistance. Many are likely to doubt that a CBS anchor who could not even discuss the Trump victory without losing his composure will view the Trump Administration objectively in the coming years.

Even fewer are likely to believe assurance from figures like Helmuth that she will regain “editorial objectivity” after denouncing anyone supporting Trump as dumb racists.

Of course, if you believe that over half of the country is “dumb,” you may believe that they will just forget post-election meltdowns.

Maybe they are right. It was once said that “chumps prefer a beautiful lie to an ugly truth.” The problem is that, if this election proved one thing, it is that many voters clearly felt like they are being played as chumps by the media and political establishment.

Telling people to ignore what they saw did not work for the Great Oz, and it will work even less for the legacy media.

  1. Now you understand.  You bleeding-heart liberals abandoned your responsibility to “KEEP” the restricted-vote republic, as Ben Franklin admonished.  The Great Men and Leaders of America lost their resolve, forfeited their power to restrict, and diluted the vote, abrogating the voting limitations that have been imperative to “democracy” since inception.  America was reduced to the covetousness, greed, and anarchy of one-man, one-vote madness.  The Founders gave the States the power to restrict the vote for good reason—to keep America sane, rational and on the Constitution. American leaders lost their ability to lead and abandoned the Constitution. The communist American welfare state is anti- and unconstitutional. The vote must be restricted by elected officials with appropriate discipline per the Constitution lest the psychosis and anarchy that is Marx be delivered dominion.

“A democracy is always temporary in nature; it simply cannot exist as a permanent form of government. A democracy will continue to exist up until the time that voters discover that they can vote themselves generous gifts from the public treasury. From that moment on, the majority always votes for the candidates who promise the most benefits from the public treasury, with the result that every democracy will finally collapse due to loose fiscal policy, which is always followed by a dictatorship.”

“The average age of the world’ greatest civilizations from the beginning of history has been about 200 years. During those 200 years, these nations always progressed through the following sequence: From bondage to spiritual faith; From spiritual faith to great courage; From courage to liberty; From liberty to abundance; From abundance to selfishness; From selfishness to complacency; From complacency to apathy; From apathy to dependence; From dependence back into bondage.”

    – Alexander Tyter/de Tocqueville/Henning W. Prentis

    1. All the more reason to ban GOTV efforts. Let each citizen who choses to vote do so of their own volition.
That takes care of Blackstone’s concern about voters who have “no will of their own”. Doesn’t begin to justify disenfranchising women or adults who rent.

    1. Something Trump joked about was, as usual, turned by Dems into a “promise”. The lib media expected an actual check to be written to the US from MX. When the ‘Remain in MX’ policy was negotiated with MX, they agreed to put thousands of newly created Mexican National Guard on the MX side of the border to help enforce the policy in 2019, under the threat of tariffs on their imported products. How much do you think that all cost Mexico? Paying for the wall or any other border security doesn’t necessarily need to result in the exchange of money hand to hand. It cost Mexico to help stem the flow while Trump was fighting Congress for money to build the wall to help secure the border.

We’re not upset that you continually lie to us. We’re insulted that you show your total contempt for us by treating us as though we’re moronic enough to believe your lies

  4. * OT

There’s too much to do to waste time with football parties and gee, why did Harris lose because she was selected to lose kinda thing.

Real topic, the reason shrimp and fish are being sourced in Alaska and the Pacific Northwest and then shipped to CHINA to be processed and packaged is? AS IF China isn’t keeping the good fish and shipping back plutonium grade crap because they’re so honest of course?

Those are processing and packing jobs for Americans aren’t they? I wouldn’t give a nickel for the honesty of the “Americans” at this point either. SALMON, wild caught in the USA is 90 dollars per pound packed in CHINA ? WHY?

Forget the 23 loser States and get some American food on the table.

  5. Misplaced anger. They really just can’t understand how the Democrat’s election-stealing machine failed when faced with a turnout “too big to rig”.

    1. Must be a few tractor trailer loads full of fake ballots missing somewhere? I mean, their twenty million short of funds now so…

      1. “twenty million short of funds”

And ~18 million short of the vote total for the 2020 election. Works out to $1.11 per bogus 2020 Biden vote. Too bad that can’t run the frickin government that cheaply.

    – Rosie O’DOnnell vows to continue her 38-year sex strike

The last story above includes the following factual information:

In an impassioned announcement made in protest of President-Elect Donald Trump’s victory Tuesday night, celebrity Rosie O’Donnell vowed to continue her sex strike that has already reached 38 years. O’Donnell made the vow in a video released on social media, promising to carry on her abstinence well past 40 years and into a fifth decade in an effort to show her outrage at Trump’s re-election.

“I’ve been protesting Trump’s presidency since the late 1980s,” O’Donnell said during the video. “All of these liberal women are coming out now and saying they’re going on sex strikes to protest Trump’s election? Join the club, ladies. I’ve been the one driving this bus for decades. I’m the original woman who stopped sleeping with anyone because of my outrage toward Trump’s fascism. Nobody has had less sex than me.” . . . O’Donnell’s close friends confirmed the length of her strike and agreed it was likely to drag on well past Trump’s second term. “Oh, yeah, she’s been at this a long time,” one source said. “She’s very committed to this. And everyone else in the world seems very committed to helping her continue the streak.”

    1. I guess he just forgot to be dangerous during his first four years, when he lowered inflation and unemployment to record lows, led the way to American energy independence, presided over no new wars anywhere in the world, ended ISIS, and largely closed the border to human trafficking, drug trafficking, and an alien invasion that would have included tends of thousands of violent criminals and terrorist operatives.

Oh, I get it: you mean he was dangerous to the bad guys like Iran and China. Yes, that’s true.

  7. I have always known known who Donald Trump is, but I’m not going to shed a tear over his becoming President of the United states although I find it dangerous and appalling. Members of my family have voted for him. They and others will find out in the years to come how dangerous he and those in his administration are. Perhaps at 78 years old he won’t live a long life.

  8. Even fewer are likely to believe assurance from figures like Helmuth that she will regain “editorial objectivity” after denouncing anyone supporting Trump as dumb racists.

As lawyers say, you can’t unring the bell. To put it another way, imagine a lawyer waving a skunk before the jury and then telling them, “You didn’t smell that.”

    1. Many of you are who we think you are.

Yes, many of you are the left-wing crybullies we think you are.

    2. For honesty, Turley should read through the comments on his own blog. Many of you are who we think you are.

The intersectional racist Tovarisch Uncle Tom enigmainblackcom is attempting to channel his cognitive dissonance by claiming those he hates are what he shows himself to be every time he shows his hate-filled face in the public arena. A hate filled racist pimping the Critical Black Racists Theory who is completely devoid of honesty anywhere he appears in the public square.

You want to see honest racism and hatred in the open?

Then Go to Uncle Tom enigmainblackcom’s failed blog and read his Black Nationalist racist hatred of whites and any Republican that refuses to subjugate themselves to performing a grovelling apology tour to the violent Black Liars & Marxists and Black Critical Racists Theory movements.

You don’t need to read the responding comments of his fellow communists and black racists – his personal blog columns will suffice to seeing the rage filled racist face behind his butt-hurt hypocritical mask.

      1. I wouldn’t refer to him as “Uncle Tom.” In the book Uncle Tom’s Cabin, Uncle Tom was a good and righteous man. The same cannot be said of the commenter you’re responding to.

        1. oldmanfromkansas says: I wouldn’t refer to him as “Uncle Tom.” In the book Uncle Tom’s Cabin, Uncle Tom was a good and righteous man.

That is true. What’s more important is that in current day, intersectional black racists and/or Democrat Marxist have redefined common meanings like “immigrant” and “Uncle Tom” to suit their political purposes. In the case of packing the country with Illegal Aliens to provide political hegemony they become “undocumented immigrants”.

While “Uncle Tom” now means a race traitor aiding white racists to subjugate black Americans. Every successful conservative black American has been called an “Uncle Tom” from at least Justice Thomas’s confirmation hearings.

They chose the new meanings for the rules. I’m happy to use their language when it applies.

        1. Old Dog, you were exactly who I had in mind.

          Well! There’s a hell of a rebuttal from a self-appointed intellectual elite!

Of course I’m the avatar for the target of your hatred and lies, Tovarisch Uncle Tom enigmainblackcom. About the only thing you might hate more than white people like me is Justice Clarence Thomas, that vile race traitor.

How DARE Thomas not support Critical Black Racists’ Theory, black racist nationalism, and Marxism as you do?

How DARE Thomas reject Marxism and black racism and hatred of Whitey he joined with as an angry youth, and emerge as an adult man and constitutional conservative!

Watching you serve massa’ Jim Crow Uncle Joe Biden, who told you he didn’t want his kids in schools with your jungle bunny kids, who told you he never met a single decent, well spoken clean black man in his 40+ years in Washington until he met a mulatto who abandoned his life of White Privilege to run for office as a po’ black chil’ from the projects reminds us of Queers For Hamas being the servants of people who would happily airmail them from the nearest rooftop.

Meritocracy hating women and virtue signalling beta males whose lives won’t be fulfilled until a woman is president should be grateful that first representative woman isn’t the Brown Vagina DEI Hire.

Similarly, decent black Americans should be grateful that they are represented by powerful, incredibly skilled black Americans like Dr. Walter Williams, Dr. Thomas Sowell, Justice Thomas, etc – and not a vile angry communist race baiting cretin like yourself, Louis Farrakhan, Al Sharpton, et al.

  9. Turley: have you ever heard the word “hypocrisy”? It takes a lot to shock me in the age of Trump but for you to criticize legacy media for lack of objectivity is stunning considering that you work for a media outlet that was founded for the specific purpose of pushing back against legacy media that criticizes Republicans. Murdoch has said that the reason he started Fox was because he thought that if there was media to push back against the Washington Post when it investigated Nixon that Nixon’s resignation could have been avoided.

Yes people, including journalists, are upset that the lies pushed by MAGA about the economy, vicious lies and personal attacks against Harris and Biden, lies about migrants raping women, committing murder and destroying small towns actually worked!

People believed that Americans aren’t really racist misogynists who believed that America was on the brink of a depression and that the truth that our economy is the strongest in the world would prevail. We believed that voters would see through the bluster that voting for Trump would ensure that prices for food and housing would drop precipitously and that personal wealth would soar—even though he had no plans for how to accomplish this—-that voters would be wise enough to see these claims as another “Mexico will pay to build the wall “ lie.

We believed that Americans would recall the booming American economy when Trump took office and how he destroyed it with his incompetence and lack of leadership. We believed that Americans hadn’t forgotten the new daily records of deaths and infections from Covid while Trump is lying about the seriousness and dangers of COVID— or the refrigerated trucks to hold corpses or the lines at food pantries while unemployment soared and schools, businesses and restaurants had to close. We believed that Americans would recall the chaos of endless turnovers of staff, kidnappings of migrant children, and the warnings of those who worked most closely with Trump that he is dangerously incompetent.

But we were wrong— the lies, racism, misogyny and threats to journalists, political opponents and threats to deport 11 million people worked!

Being upset that a demonstrably incompetent, malignant narcissist, convicted felon who stole charitable foundation money, who falsified business records and loan applications, who sexually assaulted a woman, who bragged about grabbing women’s genitalia, who started an insurrection when he lost in 2020, and who stole classified documents managed to lie, play the race and misogyny cards and be given the most powerful position in the world IS something to be righteously upset about.

Turley— this is just another attempt to validate Trump and the lies, misogyny and racism he spouts. Patriotic Americans SHOULD be upset. This election was not a valid contest between conflicting points of view— it was a contest between truth and patriotism versus racism and misogyny. Truth and patriotism lost to racism, misogyny and lies. Mocking and criticizing people who mourn the implications of such tactics succeeding in elevating the most-unqualified presidential candidate in history to the US presidency is pathetic.

    1. President Trump
      Say it GiGi, President Trump!
He wiped the floor with Kamaltoe, even Oblowhole and Big Mike black colored persons shaming could not save her.

      1. Just look at yourself— Turley decries “rage”— but you are a perfect example of the source. Your hatred, racism and vitriol are shameful and the sad truth is that there are so many of you out there.

        1. Then go to your safe space with cookies and milk where the magic mirror will tell you how right you are.

          1. Delicious !!
Coming from the black kettle GiGi:
            Just a few…
            The Orange Pig
            The Rapist Felon
            The Facist
            The MAGAts
            Hitler

            Hypocrisy much?

            1. It’s not exactly what I said about Trump, but it’s close. Trump does overuse makeup to comic effect; he was adjudicated guilty of sexual assault, which, under NY law, is considered rape. I never called him “Hitler”, but I pointed out that Hitler first used the phrase “the enemy within” and also referred Jews and others as “vermin”, just like Trump has done with migrants, in addition to calling them “murderers, rapists, animals and criminals”.

When you use misogynistic and racist slurs against Kamala Harris, Barak Obama and Michelle Obama does it occur to you that Harris is the sitting Vice President, that she got more votes than Trump did in the last election, and that you are undermining America and insulting the majority of Americans who voted in 2020 by saying these things? Barak Obama was, and still is, overwhelmingly popular and was a far more successful president than Trump could ever aspire to being. And, you insult our former First Lady by implying that she is male. With people like you, we don’t need any outside enemies. Neither Obama, Harris nor Biden ever engaged in the kind of childish and hateful rhetoric Trump and MAGA media do because they have class and are patriots. They have set the example of how a President and Vice President should behave and how democracy works, but delusional disciples like you just can’t stop the hate and vile insults.

          2. Where will your safe space be when there is no one to work at hotels and restaurants, non-union construction and to pick and pack produce; when prices for food and consumer goods skyrocket due to tariffs, reciprocal tariffs and spoilage of produce grown here because there’s no one to pick and pack it; how about if you are on Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid, or Obamacare and your benefits are cut–or in the case of Obamacare, you lose coverage, especially if you have pre-existing conditions? If you have women of childbearing age in your life, where will you be if they get raped and become pregnant, or if they are pregnant and develop a life-threatening complication that requires termination and there is no OB-GYN who will help her?

Everything I wrote about Trump is true–the mess he left for Biden to fix, his incompetence in handling COVID, the horrible and vicious things he said about our sitting Vice President, and there’s more–he was adjudicated responsible for sexual assault, for falsifying business records, and he stole from a charitable foundation. He did brag about grabbing womens’ genitals and getting away with it.

        2. There is a saying, only a thief thinks everyone else is a thief. By the same token, it is your own moral failings that cause you to think everyone else harbors “hatred, racism, and vitriol.”

        3. GiGi……better run and go do your Christmas “shopping” before Prop 36 kicks in. : )

  10. I read Wall Street is dreading of the mass deportations and the effects it will have on the economy. I say have no worries, there are going to be a lot of unemployed government employees looking for new jobs! Remember, tax funded jobs take YOUR money through fees and taxation to pay their salaries, their healthcare, their bonuses and their pensions. Downsize and watch what happens!

    1. I’m still trying to figure out if the 10 to 15 million illegal aliens let into our country under the Democrats are supporting themselves?
Are they taking jobs away from US citizens?
Are they being supporting by criminal activity?
Are they being supported by the US taxpayer?
As of last month, our national debt was 36 trillion and my grandchildren each owes $103K apiece to repay our wasteful spending.

      1. I would believe that the cost the US spends on border control is exploding exponentially due to their policies. The cost to our social services and healthcare is strapped due to them. The employed illegals do provide billions of revenue into Social Security but it’s offset by the other costs. The oligarch corporations benefit from cheap labor but it also goes to American workers being too spoiled to do hard labor for the same pay. Why work when government will send you other peoples money? I believe we have to holistically change our economic system.

  11. There was an old saying in the Soviet Union. “If the government says it, it is a lie, and if the government prints it, it is a lie.”

JT’s article points out how the establishment or legacy media has lost all credibility and no one is believes them any longer, well clearly not the majority at least. I think the more damaging aspect for the Nation is that as a result of the politically weaponized justice system if nothing else, what was left of those who still believed in what this government had to say, just hit the silk.

That a majority of the populace stopped listening to the establishment news lies and the hyperbole propaganda from governmental leaders was no doubt of benefit for Trump in the final analysis, but in the long run it is not a good thing. When a majority of any Nation’s populace no longer holds any credibility for what their government or it’s media has to say, and internalizes it all as lies and propaganda, then that country’s future may be full of surprises no one can anticipate, let alone welcome.

That is what the ultra-left Marxists wanted and now they’ve achieved it. It remains to be seen if the actual Democrats on the left can rid themselves of their treacherous cousins.

  12. Orange Satan has driven a large contingent of white, college-educated women stark raving mad. And there’s a touch of sadism to their madness, as Ms. Helmuth demonstrates.

  13. As Editor in Chief at Scientific American, why wouldn’t Laura Helmuth include scientific honesty and objectify in her list of commitments. Maybe she’s been told she’s not going to be its EIC much longer.

  14. The only time I recall any media personality choking up on air was Walter Cronkite on the report of JFK’s death. Which was a real reason for someone to get emotional.
If there are any REAL psychiatrists left in America they must see that there’s some mass psychosis affecting many people today. I think it’s been planted in the minds of many young while in the hands of Marxist professors, either way we are facing a true epidemic.

    1. As the first article JT posted today reflects, psychiatry has succumbed to the lunatic leftist cancer, right after contracting the woke mind virus.

    2. If there are any REAL psychiatrists left in America they must see that there’s some mass psychosis affecting many people today.

Margot, the only diagnosis easier to make was Biden’s cognitive decline. I have 2 of 3 sisters with varying degrees of this and 1 showed no symptoms 6 months ago. It would be great if a class action lawsuit could be brought against every media outlet participating in the psyop that lead to this mass hysteria.

      1. Lying dogface pony soldier. Obama selected, thence elected. The emperor had no clothes in 2020.

  15. In the Bible, God always selected flawed people to complete his mission:

To think that God ordained a filthy minded, adulterous, wealthy man with evil in his heart to preside over a nation
challenges my self-righteous understanding. But God did, and that sinful man by grace gave us Psalms. King David

I bet you thought I was writing about President Trump.

    Well, I wasn’t. But maybe God is…

    1. In the Bible, God always selected flawed people to complete his mission:

Given Presidents 44 through 47, there’s a heavy odor of false Christian moral equivalency in the air…. “wealthy man with evil in his heart”.

There is sin and there is evil mind expressed in sins. Trump owns his martital infidelities and his actual lies, as we all do… got any examples of actions that are accompanied by evil in Trump’s heart? Whether in his life outside of the presidency or after the presidency?

I can come up with LOTS of evil from the hearts of Obama/Biden through to Biden/Harris. Where’s your examples to justify a moral equivalency by Trump?

God have any words for moral equivalencies attempted by True Believers, those who claim one of the humans who is a fellow sinner goes the extra step of having evil intentions in their heart?

Fake Christians are why so many Christians no longer are believers – and empower the atheist religious cult.

  16. Those who are intelligent know what has been happening since woodwrow wilson was president, the others that received pieces of paper announcing their college degrees are still wandering in the wilderness of the ignorance of their own ignorance and cannot be helped. Just like any other addict, they must decide that they want to quite their addiction to agenda-driven claptrap and rejoin the world of the truly informed.

  17. I have given up on trying to talk my liberal friends off the ledge. They continue to call people like me names. Winning with grace requires losing with grace. But that hasn’t happened, so IN YOUR FACE!

    1. “Winning with grace requires losing with grace”

      Really????

The lack of self awareness in the MAGA cult is staggering.

Is January 6, 2021, an example of the “losing with grace” of which you speak ???

      1. I assume you would see the distinction between one angry mob and numerous politicians and pundits with microphones and printing presses.

        1. So you are saying that the angry mob that attacked the Capitol on Jan 6 is an example of “losing with grace”, because there was only one angry mob. The fact that ONLY ONE MOB was involved makes it graceful.

On the other hand, when a few people shed a tear over losing, this is NOT “losing with grace” because there was more than one of them.

Are you aware that the angry mob was composed of more than one person???

I repeat, your lack of self awareness is staggering.

You should seek help from a mental health professional.

          1. NO, YOU STUPID SOB. IT’S SOCIAL PSYCHOLOGY. LARGE GROUPS OF ANIMALS MAY STAMPEDE, TOO. JESUS H CHRIST!

            1. So you are saying that the mob that attacked the Capitol simply succumbed to animalistic instincts to stampede, but it was still an example of “losing with grace”.

          2. It is fun to generalize, isn’t it, about large groups of people about whom, as individuals, one knows next to nothing. But shallow generalizations evince a great deal about the one making the generalizations. An election like this must put pause to such generalization, since it provides specific evidence of the preferences of millions of individuals. Charity suggests the wisdom asking questions in the place of angry assertions

It’s known. Police are prepared. They were not. Take it from there, genius.

Joy Reid has an aversion to white people. Many do. It’s INSTINCT and the reason, REASON for laws.

              I’ve tried. GEB, I’ve tried.

I have smiled more this week and in quiet moments by myself, I do gloat. I am Happy but I also remember this is just the first step so that always give me some reason for caution. Paraphrase -the opponent has a vote even when they lose the big one. Many small votes to go to fill in the goal.

          3. have you not been taking notice of the petulant blue governors and AGs that are already planning the failure of the Trump presidency? What we have is an entire cult, led by irrational fanatics and cowardly politicians who have openly stated that they will go to any lengths to stop what the majority of Americans just voted for? I call that the same sort of cult behavior that put the likes of hitler, lenin and castro in power – agenda over the betterment of the people as a whole.

            1. The very same, yes. The very people who put Lenin in power (the US under Woodrow Wilson as elected by the bankers) are very likely the same who put Obama in power. In fact, if we look at the 19-teens it’s essentially the very playbook – different stage perhaps, different cast of characters – but the very same playbook that later appears during the Obama administration. And they did it for one reason and one reason only, silver and gold. That’s an historic fact. Don’t believe me, do your history, in thorough and unbiased fashion.

              1. I am currently plowing my way through “1917” by Arthur Herman which details that exact time and how the progressive elitist wilson undercut the entire constitution in his attempt to “cure the entire world” via his League of Nations. It is a very interesting read as it juxtaposes lenin and his actions in Europe with the progressive press by wilson.

          4. Now that there will be a new DOJ, we’ll finally get to see what Biden and Garland were hiding in the IG’s report about the number of undercover FBI agents on the ground that day. I suspect it will be the final nail in the FBI’s coffin.

            1. We do need an FBI, we just need to disinfect the current one from progressive “fellow travelers” and other un-American ideas. Sorry to say it again, but Tail Gunner Joe was correct – he was just a terrible messenger.

              1. We probably need some federal agency to be responsible for those limited domestic security interests that are clearly within the Constitutional purview of the federal government. Considering how badly the FBI is corrupted from top to bottom with expansive authoritarians, the best answer might be to abolish it and start over.

            2. “new DOJ?” I doubt it. The progressive cancer has infected every agency’s career employees. We saw during Trump 1.0 how despite there being a Republican AG (two in fact), the forces against Trump worked tirelessly below the surface. I am quite cynical that he will be able to reduce government size and spending and clean our the progressive rot.

          5. Despite the gratuitous insult I will try to focus you once more. There is a distinction between a group of anonymous (sorry) nobodies rioting for one afternoon and state governors and pundits with millions of listeners/viewers, people who have some broader influence accusing the American people of being all the standard “ists”. There is also a distinction between rioting (and no I don’t and didn’t advocate that) because you believe the election was rigged and promising resistance over your dead body because you’re pissed that the election was fair and honest and that you lost.

        1. So you also believe that the attack on the Capitol by an angry mob on Jan 6 is an example of “losing with grace”.

          You also should seek help.

          1. Shoot people with rubber bullets and pepper spray them and you will get a riotous crowd.

          2. I’m starting to believe that we might have been too hasty in dismissing the idea of a Liz Cheney firing squad.

      2. “The lack of self awareness in the MAGA cult is staggering.”

There is a difference I hope I’m still alive when the forensics are finally made public, and that there would be no denying that the 2020 election was laced with fraud. The proof is there, and the truth will ultimately come out.

This election was too big to rig, and hopefully the curtain gets pulled back there as well.

      3. Is January 6, 2021, an example of the “losing with grace” of which you speak ???

You aren’t one of the Trump Inauguration Day communist Woke Marxist Useful Idiot cult who rioted, pillaged, looted and burned their way through Washington DC the day of Trump’s inauguration, are you?

And then again through all four years of his presidency, culminating in the Election Season Mostly Peaceful Insurrection of rioting, looting, burning and murdering your way across America for months?

The assault on the White House a few months before January 6th?

You aren’t speaking of ANY of that, of course.

The ol’ Democrat Different Rules in weeping display.

      4. Incredibly peaceful demonstration don’t you think? Given that the 2020 was absolutely most definitely “stolen”? Can you imagine? Rigging a national election, certain to decide the fate of some 325 million, and by extension, the entire world? And yet not a single politician was harmed in the making of this movie. “Only in America…”
