The Bear Necessities of Larceny: Californians Arrested for Fraudulently Staging Bear Rampage

Four Californians this week have learned a critical lesson in the bear necessities of life and larceny. Ruben Tamrazian, 26, of Glendale, Ararat Chirkinian, 39, of Glendale, Vahe Muradkhanyan, 32, of Glendale, and Alfiya Zuckerman, 39, of Valley Village are accused of a novel fraudulent scheme in which a compatriot donned a bear outfit and pretended to be a wild animal trashing their luxury cars, including a 2010 Rolls Royce Ghost, a 2015 Mercedes G63 AMG and a 2022 Mercedes E350.

The four men were charged with insurance fraud for staging fake bear attacks with the bear costume after a joint investigation by the California Department of Insurance and San Bernardino County authorities called “Operation Bear Claw.”

The men submitted grainy videos of a bear tearing through their cars. However, insurance investigators were a bit suspicious in watching the movements of the bear. They brought in a biologist who said that that was no bear but a man in a bear suit. The biologist noted that the claw marks actually did not fit the pattern of an actual bear claw.

When the detectives searched the homes, they found the bear outfit. The men had allegedly defrauded insurance companies of $141,839.

The men missed the meaning in the sage words of Baloo the Bear on the bear necessities. They took him literally when he said:

Well, next time bewareDon’t pick the prickly pear by the pawWhen you pick a pearTry to use the claw

First, it has to be your claw and second the point is to set aside those obsessions with possessions, man:

And don’t spend your time lookin’ aroundFor something you want that can’t be foundWhen you find out you can live without itAnd go along not thinkin’ about itI’ll tell you something true
The bare necessities of life will come to you

  1. Innovating criminal fraud California style: dumbing down the scheme and assume everyone will buy into it. Right, Gavin?

  2. The bear rampage scheme sounds like the title of a 1960s caper movie. Some Californians appear to be stuck in this decade.

Why am I getting the urge to buy a lava lamp?

  3. T.S. Eliot: ‘Collect Poems’
    “Human kind
    Cannot bear very much reality”

Hilaire Belloc ‘Bad Child’s Book of Beasts’
“Who takes their manners from the Ape,
    Their habits from the Bear,
    Indulge in loud unseemly jape,
    And never brush their hair.”

And last but not least; A.A. Milne ‘Winnie-the-Pooh’
“ ‘Well,’ said Owl, ‘the customary procedure in such cases is as follows.’ ‘what does Crustimoney Proseedcake mean?’ said Pooh. ‘for I am a Bear of Very Little Brain, and long words Bother me.’

The above quotes are the truest observations of what a leftist is, infantile and oblivious.

The Darkness that is being lifted from the United States with a new Dawn and the light which may disinfect the body government has long been awaited. I’ll use one more quote from Sir Winston Churchill from a speech at Harrow School 1941:
“Do not let us speak of darker days; let us rather speak of sterner days. These are not dark days: these are great days-the greatest days our country has ever lived; and we must all thank God that we have been allowed, each of us according to our stations, to play a part in making these days memorable in the history or our race.”

  4. This was obviously a hate crime committed by masculine genders to color perception of bears with queer sexual orientations in a joyful romp with exotic species of diverse automobiles. #NoJudgment #NoLabels #LoveWins

    1. Andy’s wife killed her ski bum lover and it destroyed them. What a tragedy for Andy, he was a good man.

      1. Andy’s wife killed her ski bum lover and it destroyed them. “Ski bum”????

This is a bit off topic, but facts and context matter, and Sabich is an American ski racing legend. One who was the leader of the American transformation of ski racing from being a somewhat unknown and mostly European sport.

Spider Sabich was one of the most successful American alpine ski racers in history. He attended college on a ski racing scholarship and finished with a degree in aeronautical engineering – not a field of study for druggies and idiots. He was one of the very best in the world from his first year racing until the year he was killed. Longet had been divorced from Williams for well over a year before they ever met; nobody was having an affair.

Sabich raced first as an amateur, competing in the Olympics and World Cup on the US Ski Team. And then professional ski racing . He was from the period where he and Billy Kidd were two of the top male ski racers in the world.

He won a World Cup the year of the Grenoble Olympics where he finished fifth in slalom and won the US Downhill championship that year. In the next two years he racked up three podium finishes and a dozen top-ten finishes racing in the World Cup racing against the European favorites like Jean-Claude Killy and Karl Schranz. He then led the defection from the amateur World Cup/Olympic format to the newly formed professional ski racing format where racers competed head to head on identical side by side courses.

He was world professional ski racing champion two times, and was able to coax Olympic ski racing legends like Jean-Claude Killy to come back to ski racing on the pro circuit. Sabich was the model where Olympic ski racers paid $200 a year while on the USA Ski Team could go pro and if successful be making $200,000+ a year with endorsement money on top of that. That was good money in many professional sports in 1970. Sabich pretty much built the professional ski racing sport through both his aggressive ski racing and charisma.

As a businessman Sabich was also a success and was a large part in K2 going from a small boutique ski company to one of the largest ski conglomerates in that industry. He played a similar role with promoting the Snowmass ski area into one of the most lucrative ski areas in the industry.

For a “ski bum”, Sabich was successful enough that he bought his own twin engine aircraft and emulated pro golfers, flying himself from race to race. That as well as owning a series of homes in high dollar ski resorts like Alta, Jackson Hole, etc.

The movie “Downhill Racer” that gave Robert Redford’s career a shot of steroids “Butch Cassidy And The Sundance Kid” was modeled by Redford on Sabich’s ski racing career and life on the ski racing circuit.

Sabich has been a legend and inspiration to up and coming American Alpine ski racers for decades.

  5. Those vehicles do not bespeak people that need the money, and the crime does not bespeak anything resembling intelligence. The ages are interesting too, so much of that cohort is just a dumpster fire, time and time again.

I hope mommy and daddy make them buy new cars themselves.

    1. They have two daddies and a mommy who identifies as a Ford Pinto. Their phobic rampage has green undertones with woke liberal progressions of joyful dissonance. Forward and downward.

    1. Major, we know that your valor was not stolen, as is the case with “Screamin’ Lil Bow Wow.”

If it’s not Confidential, Secret, or Top Secret information, could you tell us what your MOS, AWARDS, THEATER, and CAMPAIGN were?

  6. I saw the video the other day and had a good laugh. Being California the probable defense will be the wearer identifies as a bear and was compelled to exercise its claws. The problem is, it will work.

  7. “Question 6: Organized retail criminals are people who believe they have a chance to steal without getting caught -true or false?”
    I got this one wrong!

  8. “. . . the bear necessities of life and larceny.” (JT)

Turley is being “disingenuous.” This post is clearly an attempt to elicit sympathy for his beloved Chicago Bears. (Can’t you write a post without plugging something you care about?)

And hypocritical. Where’s Turley’s criticism of Trump’s “novel fraudulent scheme” of fake electors?

/sarc (for the hard of reading)

  9. Just in: Governor Newsome floats idea for amnesty for all crimes committed by fake animals.

  10. California Woksters at their finest !!! Probably undergraduates at Berkeley working on their term paper project. And you wonder why President Trump wants to eliminate the federal Department of Education ???

  11. Jonathan: There is another fake bear waiting to rampage through the WH come Jan. 20th. And this fake bear, with larcenous intent, will leave his claw marks all over the Constitution!

    1. Dennis,

The US Constitution was not written to be read and understood only by lawyers. It has, though, been abused and distorted by the same for far too long. We need someone to clean off the sediments and corrosion so our Constitution can shine again.

Trump may or may not be the complete answer to our ailing government but the globalists, progressives, and entrenched bureaucrats are most certainly not the answer.

I wish Trump and his staff success in his cleanup and flushing of the crap that infests our government. If they accomplish 25% of their stated goals they will have done more good than any administration in my lifetime.

      1. OldFish,
        Well said.
Talking to a friend the other day who lives in FL. He said the mood down there was one of relief and even joy Trump won.
Meanwhile, reading of the election results, all those Hollywood A-list celebs that came out for Harris and some even paid, did not move the needle so much as one iota. Seems regular American’s who have to work to put food on the table, dont care what a bunch of rich, living in gated communities, spoiled, self-centered celebs think. All that “star” power, some are speculating may have hurt Harris.
        How marvelous!

    2. Prior to his colonoscopy Dennis says the apparatus reminds him of Trump.

Prior to his root canal Dennis says the needle reminds him of Trump.

On his honeymoon Dennis embarrassingly tells his wife “sorry, it’s because of Trump”.

      1. HullBobby,
“On his honeymoon, Mrs. Dennis embarrassingly tells Dennis, “Sorry, it is because Trump won!”

    3. Jonathan: There is another fake bear waiting to rampage through the WH come Jan. 20th. And this fake bear, with larcenous intent

Professor Turley, your fake friend, the parasite known as Dennis McIntyre, apparently believes you’re too young to remember that Hillary Clinton looted the White House when the presidency of her husband BJ ended. And exposing your cheap fake friend and American Dennis is about as hard as clubbing baby seals.

The Clintons confessed they had taken $190,000 in supposed “gifts,” including china, kitchenware, and TVs. They later offered to return $28,000 worth and pay for tens of thousands more after the donors clarified that they’d been given to the White House and not the Clintons. Even Air Force One wasn’t safe. The columnist Tony Snow reported that the presidential plane “looked as if it had been stripped by a skilled band of thieves — or perhaps wrecked by a trailer-park twister.”

      1. * Think of the early American artwork and furniture… Place is looted. Keep eyes peeled at yard sales…

    4. Just when I begin to think that you can’t get any more sophomoric you manage to surprise me.

    5. How so ?

By actually following US immigration law ?

By lawfully excercising the executive powers of the president to clear out the lawless deep state ?

By using constitutional foreign relations powers to restore global peace ?

      1. John, you’ll have to bear with Dennis. His cupboard is completely bear, and he barely has anything worthwhile to offer. These are the bear facts about Dennis, who can bearly bear his own ignorance in public. On the bright side, at least he won’t be bearing children!

        1. SM, I would have bet heavily that what we happened on election day was going to happen.
But there were LOTS of mixed signals.

I saw almost no biden signs both arround me and in my travels in 2020.
I saw more significantly more Trump than harris signs – but I saw lots of harris signs in 2024.

While I beleive the 2020 election was stolen – I do NOT beleive Trump won the popular vote in 2020.
I can go on – the point is though MOST of the tea leaves pointed to what actually happened,
There was enough reason to be nervous.

But What I did not consider was what the MEANING of a Trump/Republican Sweep was.
Or more accurately what it meant beyond Trump is president and likely to gt the legislative support he needs.

First – This election was a huge repudiation of the woke left. Exit polls indicate that is the #1 reason for voting for Trump.
Surprisingly that was NOT on the important lists prior to the election. That is important because it is a mandate.

The economy, peace and the border are the remaining big things – and Trump has a mandate for those – but that was to be expected.

What I did not understand is how big a repudiation of the left, wokeness, lawfare, the MSM – people like Dennis, Gigi, George, … this was.
Aside from annoying rants – they are completely powerless.

I have used the little boy who cried wolf analogy repeatedly – but it is absolutely true.

The View does not matter, Celebrities do not matter, Neocons do not matter, The Obama’s do not matter, The clintons do not matter,
          The MSM does not matter.

This election was a giant FU to thim. It was an announcment by most of the people – that they do not CARE what any of these say.
They do not matter, they are not relevant.

These people are ranting about Gaetz, Gabbard, RFK jr. Misk, Vivek – as if they are still relevant.
          They are not.

This is not just Trump won, or won the popular vote.
It is he won against every possibly thing they could throw at him.

When you call someone fascist 10,000 times a day and they win – bigly,
Either people do not believe you, or they do not care or a little bit of both.

I am not happy with McConnell being followed by another member of the old guard.

I hope Thune and other GOP senators understand that the american people gave Trump and the Trump/GOP platform a MANDATE
And if republicans like Thune interfere – they should be gone.

I understand that MAGA republicans can not win everywhere. Any successful political party must be a big tent.
But the Trump Platform is THE mandate and Democrats and republicans alike need to see it implimented.

I would also note that while SOME of Trump’s nominations were not known until after the election.
Voters KNEW that RFK jr. Musk, Vivek, Gabbard were going to have BIG roles in the Trump executive.

The Senate can not interfere or even slow walk those confirmations.

I am ambivalent about RFK jr. Mostly because I do not think he can accomlish what he wants to accomplish in the way he seeks to accomplish it.
But my ambivalence is irrelevant – when voters voted for Trump they KNOW that RFK Jr. was going to be essentially the Vice President of Everything Health and Food related.

The attacks on RFK jr. were there before the election – people voted for Trump knowing full well they were getting RFK jr.

I do not want to hear either irrelevant people or even non-MAGA republicans interfering with those people who the voters KNEW they were getting when they voted for Trump.

It is also clear that Trump is deliberately skipping a generation. He is putting at the top of the executive people in their 40’s or early 50’s.
He is establishing the GOP’s future leaders. This is NOT Thune, this is not Cornyn. No one is sending them away – but Trump is establishing the future leaders of the GOP,
And he is skipping a generation in doing it. And those in the Senate need to get over that.

Contra the all the people who are irrelevant – Trump’s appointments have very impressive resumes for 40-50 year olds.
But the do not have the resumes of 70 year olds.

I have said this before – I respect Bill Barr greatly. He is a good reflection of the best of the generation that Trump is skipping.
I disagree with him on some issues – he is actually farther right than Trump and certainly farther right than I am.
But he is an old school rule of law type.

But he was a failure as AG – His JOB was to restore the rule of law within DOJ and FBI, and what was clear is the moment he left office – even before,
          His efforts were for naught.

NORMALLY I would want a Bill Barr long before a Mat Gaetz.
But with great respect – Barr failed, Another Barr if there is one – will fail.

Further Voters did not vote for another Bill Barr. They voted to CLEAN HOUSE.
          Barr had his chance.

Further the new AG MUST start CLEANING HOUSE ASAP – most of Trump’s appointment MUST start cleaning house ASAP.

I doubt all of Trump’s appointments will turn out to be good . If not – FIRE THEM.
But the mandate is to CLEAN HOUSE ASAP

The other thing I did not understand is that
          Trump is already defacto president.

Iran, Russia, Ukraine, Qatar, Yemen(Houthis), Hexbolla, Hamas, the EU, Mexico

are all acting as if Trump is currently the president.
While that is not constitutionally correct – it is a reflection of how weak Biden is.,

          1. John, I agree and noted the same things as you, along with believing Trump would win, except if there was tremendous cheating from the left. There was cheating, but not enough to make Trump lose.

“I do NOT beleive Trump won the popular vote in 2020.”

I don’t know, but the popular vote count is a myth. One either tries to win the popular vote or the electoral vote. In 2020, if the popular vote rather than the electoral vote had counted, he would have focused on NY and California. So many Republicans don’t vote in those states because of a vast Democrat majority that the win might have been more extraordinary (excluding Democrat cheating)

I am troubled by the RINO part of our Republican legislators. Scott should have won, as he has always been a supporter of Trump, and the others were not. In fact, many of the others impeded Trump’s ability the last time to do what he was voted to do. Will they do that again? Why did they keep that vote secret? It is obvious. Trump’s popularity overshadows theirs, and they want to grab control.

Someone should post all the names, have a committee guess who voted for whom, and then publish the list. Then, let the Senators call them to change the listed vote. In this way, those voting against Scott (Trump) can be singled out–forcing transparency.

“He is putting at the top of the executive people in their 40’s or early 50’s.”

He is widening the field of experienced people, which has been too narrow to date. The Democrats had almost no one to replace Biden. This will help the Republican party in future years.

“NORMALLY I would want a Bill Barr long before a Mat Gaetz. But with great respect – Barr failed, Another Barr if there is one – will fail.

Nothing can be added to that truest of all statements. We need disrupters. We need Republicans to remove their ties and jackets. We need them to look at Trump–fight, fight, fight.

  12. First, I think this story bears a deeper look! The Second Amendment gives people the right to “bear arms”, so there is nothing wrong in dressing up in a bear suit. Then, the Privileges or Immunities Claws Prohibits states from making or enforcing laws that abridge the privileges or immunities of citizens. Plus, the grainy videos bearly provide a shred of evidence, or evidence of a shred! I think the State baloo this one!

  13. Only in California. Obviously they misread the 2nd amendment as saying there is a right to Arm Bears.
