The recent election produced an outpouring of anger and angst on the left, from pledging to leave the country to not having sex with men for four years. For others, the response was to retreat deeper into the echo chamber of the left. Many liberals are leaving X for a Bluesky, which promises the censorship and monitoring that was reduced after Elon Musk’s purchase of Twitter. Despite having most of the media and social media as allies, the opposing views of X have become intolerable for many after the election. One such aggrieved user appears to be New York Times tech reporter Kevin Roose, who wrote a column heralding the site as a deliverance for liberals left confused and afraid by the popular vote.Roose writes
“After an hour or so of scrolling through Bluesky the other night, I felt something I haven’t felt on social media in a long time: free.
Free from Elon Musk and his tedious quest to turn X into a right-wing echo chamber where he and his friends are the permanent, inescapable main characters.”
Because Musk dismantled the censorship system, the New York Times reporter now considers it a “right-wing echo chamber.” So, what does that make Bluesky?
Over at X, there is no shortage of trolls from the left and the right. However, it is hardly an echo chamber. Many liberals are among the most influential and criticize the right and others, including Musk and X. It also has its share of far-left trolls. However, it is the fact that it also allows such voices from the right that seems to produce the gasping, hypoxic response of liberals.
Back in the day of Twitter, it was just like the Allman Brothers song:
“BluebirdsSinging a songNothing but bluebirdsAll day long”
Many have shared their own “I can breathe now” take on Bluesky and how it is great to be again among friends — and watched over by social media guardians. Just like the old days. Notably, Roose admits that the site is no X and is unlikely to replace it. Roose admitted when he first joined Bluesky, it was more annoying than liberating:
“It was also, frankly, kind of annoying. The most active posters on my feed were all left-wing Twitter discontents, united in their hatred of Mr. Musk yet unable to stop talking about him. My account went dormant, and I moved on to other platforms.”
To his credit, Roose appeared to miss the diversity of thought in less “moderated” spaces. Nevertheless, it is now a godsend for those seeking greater insulation from opposing views.
Ironically, one lesson from this election is the danger of both the press and pundits in becoming increasingly out of touch with most of the country. The shock expressed by many is due to a lack of exposure to opposing views — not the need for further ideological isolation.
That cathartic effort is evident in many subscribers who are now boycotting the Washington Post and MSNBC. MSNBC contributor and Washington Post columnist Jennifer Rubin appears to support such efforts. Rubin is an avowed Marxist. Groucho Marxist, that is. Marx famously said, “I don’t want to belong to any club that would accept me as one of its members.” Before supporting resignations at her newspaper (for not endorsing a presidential candidate) or the boycott of Morning Joe (for the hosts speaking to Donald Trump), Rubin was the self-identified Republican columnist of the Post before she called for the party to be burned down.
Liberals would prefer to leave the Post if it is going to introduce opposing views. For the Post owner and publisher, the newspaper is facing an utter disaster after alienating over half of the country by becoming an echo chamber. Publisher and CEO William Lewis put it bluntly by telling the staff, “Let’s not sugarcoat it…We are losing large amounts of money. Your audience has halved in recent years. People are not reading your stuff. Right? I can’t sugarcoat it anymore.”
The response from the Post staff was calls for Lewis to be fired. These reporters and columnists would prefer to lose their jobs than their bias.
Obviously, Roose and others have every right to shelter in place within hardened liberal silos. However, it will do little to bring back readers to the media or voters to the Democrats by creating safe spaces for liberals to avoid being triggered by opposing views.
Now, it is different:
“Never saw the sun shining so brightNever saw things going so rightNoticing the days hurrying byWhen you’re in love, my how they fly”
Different except that things are not “going so right” on Bluesky.
We didn’t go there to escape opposing views, we went there to escape toxic and sadistic behavior aimed at the left. The right-wingers on Twitter are nucking futz.
Awwwww, poor baby needs another safe space
‘ The right-wingers on Twitter are nucking futz.’
* Another brilliant Woke tranny here, officially on the rag, to prove they always think with the little head, not the one on their shoulders. The supportive humanitarians who get off on encouraging little boys to ask to be castrated and little girls to be neutered.
Nothing toxic nor sadistic in Democrat Bluesky World.
You just contradicted yourself…
The behavior of those on the right is inconsequential compared to that of the left.
You look to censor and lock up those you disagree with.
You “Cancel” your own for tiny heresy against left wing dogma.
When people like Jordan Petersen, JK Rawling, Dave Rubin, Alan Derschowitz, RFK jr and so many many more are being called nazi’s and fascists – it is pretty clear who the nut jobs are.
Nothin’ against the Allman Bros., but Blue Skies, Irving Berlin, 1926.
Kevin: Thanks. I was going to point this out.
So what? Breaking news: leftists/liberals enjoy masturbating in a closet, immune to questioning or criticism, whether the act is physical or mental, and whether the closet is actual or virtual. This idea merits a column, with dozens of comments? I realize that we are fast approaching the Holidays, which is generally a relatively slow period for newsworthy current events of a social or political nature, but I cannot believe it could possibly be *that* slow.
Please do not call them “liberals” – Turley is liberal. Derschowitz is liberal, these left wing nuts are illiberal progressives/.
Of course these idiots need a safe space where they can gather like a support group to mount their resistance to [this is where I get stuck] what exactly? Energy independence? A just Justice Department? Safer communities? Deporting terrorists and criminal gangs? Rescuing 300k+ trafficked migrant children? Excellence in Education? Preventing WWIII? Peace in the Middle East? A non-politicized FBI? Less inflation? Less regulations? Robust economy? Less waste, fraud and abuse within our federal bureaucracies? Government efficiency? National debt reduction? Lower taxes?
I ask all that because the election is over. At this point, a rational person that is not an enemy of the state would support an administration efforting to do all of that, regardless of who is President and what party controls the Senate and the House. You can hate Trump and/or Republicans, but if you want those outcomes for our country, then resistance to it is insane.
I have secret video from inside the DNC:
OLLY,
They are “resisting” common sense, logic, reason, critical thinking, rule of law and decency. And they think they are fighting the good fight!
Just look at how many times our leftist friends here on the good professor’s blog made delusional claims about Trump. They turned out wrong and not just once but on dang nearly everything. But they keep on doubling or even tripling down on the same delusions. What is the definition of insanity? Repeating the same mistake over and over again and expecting a different result every time.
A few of them did in fact learn. Have not seen Fishstick or Sammy since the election.
They are “resisting” common sense, logic, reason, critical thinking, rule of law and decency. And they think they are fighting the good fight!
Upstate, GSevoerlgaez is the leader of that resistance on this blog. At this point, I question the sanity of anyone that finding it necessary to argue with him.
Olly, do you ever hear yourelf talk. You sound just like the nutties on Parler and Signal. Did you know those channels ARE their safe space. It’s been that way for a while.
Svelaz the spastic troll ^^^^
Wrong again. What OLLY points out is what most sane and normal people want. A good economy. Safe communities. Protecting our children from groomers and those who think pornography in elementary schools is okay. Defending women’s rights in sports against biological males. A secure border. Deporting violent criminals and gangs. Nothing he said was “nutties.” Only someone who is against those things he mentions must be a nutty. Like cheering on WWIII and nuclear war. Listen to yourself and realize how insane and stupid you sound.
Upstate, only truly insane people, or those as I said are enemies of this country, don’t want the America First agenda. Sane, logical, rational, normal people of course want it. Maybe some would differ in the margins, but they want the entire agenda to succeed because it would be good for them personally. What they can’t reconcile emotionally is that politically, it’s not coming from the team they are rooting for. For them, blogs like this are for sport.
And how would you know about Parlor or Signal ?
George – Why should anyone beleive you about anything ?
When have you ever been right ?
Democrats are all about emotion and feelings. They are unable to deal with the truth. I am waiting for Democrats to ban the non-fiction book section from the library.
Social media is causing neurosis, especially among the young, so instead of creating Bluesky, we would be better off getting rid of social media altogether. That brings up a question as to the mental health of those on the left who find the need for confirmation of what they wish to believe. We should study those heavily involved in Bluesky and X and compare them to each other and those with lesser use. My bet is that the mental health of those using X will be better than that of those using Bluesky.
“Social media is causing neurosis, especially among the young, so instead of creating Bluesky, we would be better off getting rid of social media altogether. ”
I think that typical social media behavior is better described as a symptom of neurosis; I am skeptical that social media can accurately be described as the root cause of it. There is little doubt that it is capable of exacerbating such an ailment in the vulnerable. As far as being well rid of it, I agree, the problem is how to accomplish that without resorting government intervention that would be a cure worse than the disease. Moderating its use by the young should be in the province of sound parenting, unfortunately the current parental generation is completely addicted to it, to the point that most of that group cannot even drive a car without spending half their time dangerously staring at the ubiquitous phone in their lap
” I am skeptical that social media can accurately be described as the root cause of it. “
I did not describe it as the root cause. I said: “Social media is causing neurosis, especially among the young”, but I do believe social media is dangerous.
;
Government intervention is a tough concept and one can argue on both sides of the issue, but recall what is banned for part of that age group; cigarettes, voting privileges, drivers license, alcohol, etc.
N6 – Prof Haidt has written on this – there are several factors that have contributed to declining mental health in the young – but Social Media is definitely the most significant.
S. Meyer, it’s not about mental health. It’s about quality. X has degenerated into cesspoll of trolls and bland accusations and misinformation. That’s why it has been losing money to the tune of $24Bln and losing value up to 80%. That’s not good.
Bluesky and Threads are thriving because they provide better quality and a better experience. You can even make more money by putting content on Threads. They just surpassed X in terms of subscribers.
X has degenerated into cesspoll of trolls and bland accusations and misinformation.
Is this why George is here multiple times a day? George is just one more bitter, rage filled Marxist Democrat fascist troll, lamenting the fact that “X” is no longer the Twitter that de-platformed and censored news organizations attempting to publish news about the Biden Bribery Laptop. Censor news about Fauci and those Wuhan labs – instead
George is bitter because the police state fascist Soviet Democrats in the White House, House, and Senate that used to be able to run to Twitter with their list of Republicans, social media influencers, doctors, etc they wanted censored and de-platformed is no longer possible now that Twitter has become X.
George is bitter because no longer can Twitter be used for Dr. Fauci to be unopposed while lecturing Americans Wuhan Flu didn’t come from a ChiCom biological warfare lab he was funding, but instead it began with a pangolin on a Grindr date having unprotected sex with a bat. A bat that tragically ended up being slaughtered and eaten at a ChiCom wet market.
And then after years of Curious George the comical Marxist Monkey and Twitter telling us we shouldn’t believe our lying eyes about Bidenomics and we had a super economy, George wants us to believe his analysis of “X”, which he loathes as much as he used to be infatuated with Twitter.
George is a cheap fake American Marxist.
Why are you here instead of those substacks, George?
Desperately speaking “your truths” here, because they don’t even believe you on those substacks you recommended?
“S. Meyer, it’s not about mental health. It’s about quality. ”
George Svelaz, like almost everything else, you know nothing about mental (emotional) health. Your brain is empty of productive ideas and relies on leftist ideology to teach you the difference between right and wrong, good and bad.
“X has degenerated into cesspoll of trolls and bland accusations and misinformation.”
You are the cesspool lacking useful information while thinking you are brilliant. We can see your lack of intelligence when your ideas conflict or you lack understanding of what you are reading. When provided information, you lie and never spend time investigating it. We can see you learned nothing at the end of the discussion.
“That’s why it has been losing money”
You need to understand business. I can’t say whether X is making money, but when I invest, I frequently invest in the person who runs the company. Musk is a genius. You are not. In Musk’s case, X provides him more than another company, so put your brain at rest because you cannot understand Musk’s computations.
” it’s not about mental health”
It is not ? twice as many of those on the left SELF REPORT with serious anxiety and depression – and have for YEARS.
We have a very serious mental health crisis in this country and it is close to entirely on the left.
It is as if progressivism is a mind cancer.
‘X has degenerated into cesspoll of trolls and bland accusations and misinformation. ”
Because you say so ?
Regardless – rather than Rant about X – sign up for Bluesky – plant yourself in the bubble.
“That’s why it has been losing money to the tune of $24Bln and losing value up to 80%. That’s not good.”
We have been through this before. Those numbers are made up.
Regardless, I have not noted Musk panicking.
In fact he is joking about buying MSNBC – and Joe Rogan is joking about wanting Rachel Maddow’s job.
But then Musk Joked about buying Twitter. Then he bought it.
“Bluesky ….”
Is not even close to competing with Truth yet – much less X
Regardless if you like Bluesky – fine – though I do not honestly beleive you have a Bluesky aoount and i suspect you do not have a truth account or an X account either.
My guess is like always you are writing about things you do not know – just making it up as you go.
No they have not surpassed X – at the moment they have more “active” users than Truth – though not by alot.
See if that is still true in 6 months.
” twice as many of those on the left SELF REPORT with serious anxiety and depression – and have for YEARS. ”
So, is identifying with the Left and its positions the cause of this anxiety and depression, or a symptom of same?
George – we get this nonsense from you all the time.
If you like custard filled better than cream filled or jelly filled donuts – that is your choice.
Most of us do not try to start holy wars over it.
You have a desparate need to be right – and to FORCE others to do as you do.
Some people may actually want the left wing nut safe space of Bluesky.
That is fine.
Some people want “Double Cappuccino – half-caf, non-fat milk, with just enough foam to be aesthetically pleasing but not so much that it leaves a moustache.”
But those of you on the left demand that EVERYONE must want what you want.
They don’t – just a few weeks ago half the country made it clear they do NOT want what you want.
You are STILL free to lock youself in your hermetically sealed bubble.
You are not free to inflict it on the rest of us.
Self Censor all you want – or voluntarily submit to the censorship of others.
Twitter/X bluesky and Truth will succeed or fail based on how they meet the wants and needs of people.
There is no doubt that Bluesky meets the wants and needs of SOME people.
If you are one – GO there.
But quit lying to the rest of us. Twitter is not failing – the left has been repeating that nonsense since Musk bought it – the sky is TILL not falling.
Truth stock is STILL 3 times its IPO value.
Its market Cap dwarfs Bluesky.
These are realities NOW.
6 months ? Who knows.
S. Meyer,
“My bet is that the mental health of those using X will be better than that of those using Bluesky.”
That would be a interesting study. I think your assessment would prove to be true. After all, some leftist Hollywood director is complaining someone is challenging his comments on Bluesky. IIRC, he also had to check himself into a “facility” after Trump won the election. He seems to have had a mental health issue.
Upstate, much evidence is already in and shows many on the left to be emotional wrecks. That is why they can’t deal with X, deal with children who disagree with them, become suicidal because Trump was reelected, etc. All we have to do is look at the blog. Look at George Svelaz, who recognizes his stupidity as genius; Gigi, who is crazy as can be; Dennis, who needs John Turley to be his friend to feel a tinge of success; the drunk who never gets past his underlying problems; and the many anonymous figures that are just plain ignorant.
Compare them to yourself or any serious writers who can write intelligently on most subjects.
I saw this on youtube several days ago:
After days of explosive growth on the platform, the Bluesky Safety team posted Friday that it received 42,000 moderation reports in the preceding 24 hours, compared to 360,000 in all of 2023. Most troublingly, the company acknowledged that it is receiving reports of “CSAM” or child sexual abuse material, commonly known as child pornography.

Nothing but red skies, do I seeeee!
Trump Guitars hit with cease and desist from Gibson over use of Les Paul body shape.
Gee, who would use copyrighted products and songs without the creators consent? Oh that’s right, none other than the master grifter DJT.
Blue Skies, written by Irving Berlin, is within public domain.
* if you buy the American flag you can burn it, too. Perhaps when buying one a form must be signed not for burning. Background checks, provide receipt upon request , notarized wait 30 days.
Absurd. Sorry I bought a Gibson. I’ll post it burning.
Geee… do you think Gibson could fund their legal troubles with a lawsuit? Same Gibson that got took to the financial woodshed as a company happily using prohibited products from endangered species, purchased from poachers and smuggled into the USA to build their guitars? Who would use CITES prohibited materials to build guitars?

Elon Musk Admits X Is Making It Harder for People to Read News
https://newrepublic.com/post/188794/elon-musk-admits-x-censor-news-articles
What strikes me so profoundly is how a great deal of Hollywood and the Democratic Party sound so alike in condemning the people of the US as racist, misogynistic, ignorant and ill informed and uneducated. I always thought this exceptionally funny that the most elitist actors and power brokers in Hollywood and DC lived in a world where other people wrote out their roles in their everyday work (acting and make believe) and had their words also written out for them whether it was on a script or a teleprompter. And when these same individuals actually appeared live, the great majority were not particularly bright and often had difficulty carrying on salient conversations when they did not have a script in front of them.(sound familiar)
Yet there they were criticizing people who went to work everyday with no script and often there would be events or changes that would crop up requiring innovation and problem solving done on the fly and these ignorant uneducated people dealt with this on a daily basis.
So please explain to me how people living unscripted lives are somehow less intelligent or ignorant compared to overpaid elitists who live day to day in a contrived script. No wonder they seek an echo chamber, they are totally unprepared by training or life experience to handle the unexpected or difficult. They may have been at one time but as time passes in the rarified atmosphere at which they exist, those skills of improvisation, innovation and interaction have atrophied to such an extent as to no longer be valid or operable.
In other words they simply cannot cope outside their structured envelope. They have become sclerotic, one tracked, increasingly unable to innovate or adjust.
Sometimes you have to have disruption or revolution to overturn the status quo and get rid of the sclerotics.
I have a great deal of respect for the skill of actors – just as I do for those in other professions.
But there is no reason to beleive that because someone is a great actor, that their views on pretty much anything are important.
I would note that the overwhelming portion of elite leftists – not merely actors, but even the staff at WaPo or NYT are clueless idiots who do not grasp that the very world they seek to create would be a very miserable place for them.
How would people who each morning order a “Double Cappuccino – half-caf, non-fat milk, with just enough foam to be aesthetically pleasing but not so much that it leaves a moustache.” manage in a world where a cup of instant coffee was a luxury.
“I have a great deal of respect for the skill of actors – just as I do for those in other professions.”
In movies, the art of acting, which is the ability of an actor to convincingly present to an audience a personality not his or her own, has been in tremendous decline for decades. Most movies currently released from Hollywood have all, or nearly all, of the main characters played by actors who need to do no more than play themselves (“typecasting”). I suspect that scripts are routinely rewritten during shooting whenever a discrepancy between a character as originally written and the actor’s personality causes an issue. I haven’t been to a major stage production in a long time, so I do not know if that genre has been infected by the same malaise.
Brilliantly stated, thank you. Describes my liberal friends precisely. I may quote parts of this response, using your handle as a citation.
It is an old story, how the elite disparage the commoners:
Parable of the Pharisee and Tax Collector
9 Then Jesus told this story to some who had great confidence in their own righteousness and scorned everyone else: 10 “Two men went to the Temple to pray. One was a Pharisee, and the other was a despised tax collector. 11 The Pharisee stood by himself and prayed this prayer[b]: ‘I thank you, God, that I am not like other people—cheaters, sinners, adulterers. I’m certainly not like that tax collector! 12 I fast twice a week, and I give you a tenth of my income.’
13 “But the tax collector stood at a distance and dared not even lift his eyes to heaven as he prayed. Instead, he beat his chest in sorrow, saying, ‘O God, be merciful to me, for I am a sinner.’ 14 I tell you, this sinner, not the Pharisee, returned home justified before God. For those who exalt themselves will be humbled, and those who humble themselves will be exalted.”
* What version of scripture are you using? That’s what has happened over 2000 years. Additions and revisions.
And Floyd, what about absolution? Sin all week, go to confession and bingo! Ready for another week…
“And Floyd, what about absolution? Sin all week, go to confession and bingo! Ready for another week…”
What would make you presume that Floyd is specifically a Catholic to question about the confessional?
As a proud Marxist Democrat atheist, why haven’t you addressed your question to that devout, pious Catholic, Joe Biden? Or that other devout, pious Catholic Nancy Pelosi?
The two pious Catholics that… what?
Leave the confessional after they have unburdened themselves of doing their best to legalize elective birth control abortions up to the point of birth not to play bingo. But instead spend the rest of the Sabbath planning the next week of selling America to your fellow atheist communists in China, or engaging in insider trading as an alternative way of getting wealthy in elected office.
You have your own in-house Catholic experts on confession and playing games outside of the confessional – why ask Floyd instead of them?
Turley appears to overlook a crucial element of free speech. While it is a fundamental right that allows individuals to express their opinions and ideas freely, unrestricted discourse can often lead to an unhealthy environment. When the dialogue is dominated by trolling, racist remarks, bigotry, personal attacks, and a barrage of unconstructive criticism, it turns into a disorganized mess characterized by negativity. Such an atmosphere prevents meaningful conversation and enables a culture where insults replace reasoned debate.
Consequently, platforms that engage in this kind of speech risk developing a tarnished reputation, becoming less appealing to those who seek thoughtful exchange. Turley’s blog seems to be moving toward this troubling form if it hasn’t already arrived there. Likewise, the platform X (formerly Twitter) is on a similar path. These platforms no longer attract high-quality contributors or encourage genuine dialogue, which can stifle open-mindedness and discourage individuals from rethinking their beliefs or opinions. Rather than operating as forums for enlightening discussions, they often devolve into arenas of hostility, making it increasingly difficult for meaningful engagement to occur.
Thank you for your concern, troll.
Welcome to the hurly burly of the free speech marketplace. No government entity has the right to decide what is true or false speech or hate speech. That only happens in totalitarian countries or nations that aim for the creation of a police state as is happening now in Western Europe..
“…the proper response to negative speech is to counter it with positive expression. It derives from the theory that audiences, or recipients of the expression, can weigh for themselves the values of competing ideas and, hopefully, follow the better approach.
The counterspeech doctrine is one of the most important free expression principles in First Amendment jurisprudence.
Justice Brandeis: “More speech, not enforced silence”
Justice Louis D. Brandeis established it in his classic concurring opinion in Whitney v. California (1927), when he wrote:
“If there be time to expose through discussion, the falsehoods and fallacies, to avert the evil by the processes of education, the remedy to be applied is more speech, not enforced silence.”
* God created me with vocal cords and I’ll say whatever I want. I was made in his image meaning God’s gottem, too. I can speak or remain silent. It’s my birthright.
Then there’s the moluccan cockatoo… a reminder no doubt.
X and trump are a firehose of lies.
JT always says the answer to bad speech is more speech. But what if he is wrong? What if truth is wiped out by the firehose of lies? Look at how Myanmar turned out in 2014? FB feed a firehose of racist lies, downgraded truth and kindness in favor of lies and hatred.
It did not turn out so well for Myanmar. Calling people vermin is the first step in dehumanizing people, the next step and rounding them up, which DJT wants to do. And the next step? Well, if they’re not human, just dispose of them.
X is a firehose of lies, racism, and hatred. Why would I want to be part of that?
Please look at history and see what happens when lies outnumber the truth.
ATS
You seem to beleive History does not exist.
JT does not say the answer is more speech. The Supreme court said that over 100 years agp.
JT has mostly not addressed – and neither do you an even more important problem – WHO DECIDES ?
You seem to think that truth is trivially discernable.
Personally I have rarely found it difficult.
But the FACTs as we have clearly seen over the past 8 yeears and as YOUR comments make clear, is that what is presumed to be truth – expecially by those with power,
nearly always proves to be FALSE.
You say Trump is a firehose of lies.
But Trump did not sell the country the collusion delusion.
He did not sell the country the idiotic claim that the hunter Biden laptop was russian disinformation.
I can list pages and pages of lies pushed by the MSM and the left over the past decade+
Worse still these lies by those with power resulted in the censorship of the truth.
In a governmental system that exists to protect individual rights, what is true is decided by the free market -= each of us as individuals making our own decisions.
Increasingly we are losing trust in the MSM – why ? Becaue they are a “firehose of lies”.
This election has just shown that after 8 years of those on the left – like you ranting that Trump is a “firehose of lies” the majority of voters trust Trump more than they trust you.
Many here on the left claim Trump has no mandate.
I can understand why – a 2% majority seems small.
But forgotten is that majority was earned against insurmountable odds.
How many people did not vote for Trump because they were terrified by left wing nut cries that Trump was a totalitarian Nazi ?
How many beleive the idiotic lawfare of the left and stupid claims that he is a convicted fellon ?
1% ? 10%
Trump won an unbeleivably dishonest election with the deck stacked against him.
And that is why those of you on the left are terrified.
You ware NOT able to do in 2024, all the shenanigans to tilt the playing field you did in 2020.
You will be able to do even less in 2026 and 2028.
What is clear from this election is the answer to the question “who decides ?”
The people decide. Rightly or wrongly.
They are often wrong in the short run, but they are nearly always right in the long run.
Trump’s election looks alot like the truth prevailing in the long run rather than a firehose of lies in the short run.
‘X and trump are a firehose of lies.’
* Another commie escapee from Bluesky appears. One who spent YEARS on Twitter telling us the “Trump Russia Dossier” wasn’t a firehose of commie Democrat lies – but verified intelligence agency evidence.
Which was why the commie’s Dear Leader Obama ordered his FBI to swear under oath to FISA judges it was 100% verified truth.
Oh where is their dear Twitter now, as they desperately need its succor in their hour of need!
” unrestricted discourse can often lead to an unhealthy environment.”
It does – do you have evidence of that ?
What is KNOWN to be true is that suppressing speech Leeds to political instability and violence.
Free speech is like short selling in markets – it allows people to gauge their trust in the dominant trends.
Without free speech – guaging the trustworthiness of what you do hear becomes impossible, and most people decided everything is lies.
This happens in most totalitarian regimes and it contributes to their collapse.
“When the dialogue is dominated by trolling, racist remarks, bigotry, personal attacks, and a barrage of unconstructive criticism, it turns into a disorganized mess characterized by negativity. Such an atmosphere prevents meaningful conversation and enables a culture where insults replace reasoned debate.”
Absurdy false – You are a trollm and a racist and a bigot, and engage in personal attacks – yet you serve a very useful purpose
You are the equivalent of someone short selling stock.
When views and opinions are expressed here – and you respond – many of us guage the merits of the views you attack by the strength or weakness of your attack.
Should you ever be able to provide a criticism that was not paper thin that would cause be to more seriously question those you criticize.
I have no problems with Bluesky – but I doubt it will ever be more than a niche – and ultimately less of one than even Truth.
Why ? Among many reasons Because living in a bubble is boring and unsatisfying. Also because those on the left NEED the lunacy they create. Whatever content moderation Bluesky has – it will not prove enough. One of the problems of censorship is that there can never be enough.
We have seen this in “cancel culture” and throughout the left. Orwell got so much right in 1984. Left wing nuts need and Emmanuel Goldstein to hate – they need an enemey they can paint however they want – otherwise they start attacking each other.
“Consequently, platforms that engage in this kind of speech risk developing a tarnished reputation, becoming less appealing to those who seek thoughtful exchange.”
Because you say so ?
I do not frequent Twitter/X. I did not before Musk. I do not now. I do not frequent Truth, and it is unlikely I would ever use Bluesky.
None of that appeals to me.
But if I had to pick one – it would be X by a large margin.
At the same time if I was ACTUALLY looking for a “safe space” for kids – I would choose Truth.
“Turley’s blog seems to be moving toward this troubling form if it hasn’t already arrived there.”
This blog has been much the same for years.
Rational people posting rational responses to Turley’s articles, combined with poorly thought out and often off topic far left wing nut posts like yours that result in uproar as your posts are intellectually dismembered.
The ease with which that is done should be a clue as to how weak your claims are.
“Likewise, the platform X (formerly Twitter) is on a similar path. These platforms no longer attract high-quality contributors or encourage genuine dialogue, which can stifle open-mindedness and discourage individuals from rethinking their beliefs or opinions. Rather than operating as forums for enlightening discussions, they often devolve into arenas of hostility, making it increasingly difficult for meaningful engagement to occur.”
If you beleive that – leave. No one is forcing you to participate here or on twitter.
The free market has provided you with “bluesky” where you can go to live in your highly censored bubble.
What you claim you want – is right out there – Turley gave you everything you need to know.
Myanmar
What about it ?
It has been a disasterous mess for my entire life. You seem to think that some magical experiement happened in 2014 that failed.
Myanmar has been a failure forever.
John Say,
Great comment!
“ ” Unrestricted discourse can often lead to an unhealthy environment.”
It does – do you have evidence of that ?”
This blog, Parler, Signal, Telegram, and most recently X.
You adhere to the philosophy of free markets, and clearly, X is failing at that because its competitors are attracting better, higher-quality individuals.
X is losing money, advertisers, and subscribers because it offers a subpar user experience and has become a cesspool of invective and racist rhetoric. To be clear, X is absolutely allowed to have that environment if it chooses, and its subscribers and advertisers determine the platform’s success or failure.
Currently, Bluesky is gaining more subscribers and advertisers and increasing its value to potential investors. Threads has recently surpassed X in terms of number of subscribers and quality of content.
“ What is KNOWN to be true is that suppressing speech Leeds to political instability and violence.”
That is not entirely true. Your idea of “suppressing speech” is allowing unfettered speech, including inciting violence and misinformation. Private parties can suppress all the speech they want regardless of what the 1st amendment says. It’s only applicable to the government. It also does not restrict the government from suggesting or calling for certain speech to be muted, delayed, changed, or even ask certain speech to be moderated. Why? Because it’s always done that. Even the Supreme Court has made it clear that the Government suggesting or asking certain speech be moderated is constitutional because the government also has the right to exercise free speech. Nothing says it cannot do that. The only thing it cannot do is outright censor speech by threat of punishment or attempt to censor speech itself.
“ When the dialogue is dominated by trolling, racist remarks, bigotry, personal attacks, and a barrage of unconstructive criticism, it turns into a disorganized mess characterized by negativity. Such an atmosphere prevents meaningful conversation and enables a culture where insults replace reasoned debate.”
Absurdy false – You are a trollm and a racist and a bigot, and engage in personal attacks – yet you serve a very useful purpose
You are the equivalent of someone short selling stock.”
You’re not saying anything. Turley’s blog has devolved into a cesspool of personal insults and trolling. Those of us trying to have a honest discussion are immediately attacked with unsults and childish arguments. It’s exceedingly rare that a real lawyer or legal scholar shows up to offer support or criticism.
“ Rational people posting rational responses to Turley’s articles, combined with poorly thought out and often off topic far left wing nut posts like yours that result in uproar as your posts are intellectually dismembered.
The ease with which that is done should be a clue as to how weak your claims are.”
There are no rational people on Turley’s blog. The responses are the same what you would expect at Telegram or Parler, or Signal. The only difference is there is slighly more civility if you could call it that.
Turley is thowing Elon a Bone by writing a column mocking Bluesky because it is becoming a serious competitior and how it caters to liberals. What turley won’t say is that it is catering to better quality customers or subscribers and a better enviroment where free speech doesn’t involve a storm of insults and racist tropes. Keep in mind that Turley censors openly racist comments which is odd because it falls under the free speech principles he adores. Yet, he censors it because it’s an ugly unsavory part that he does not like and would do damage to the image of a “civil” forum.
Do you ever read your own posts ?
Musk/X have taken a risk Those creating Bluesky are also taking a risk.
Contra the Left, Musk is still here.
Despite your ranting – X is growing not shrinking.
Bluesky will do fine – but it is a niche market – like Blackpower coffee for 2A supporters.
As to your claims – all the people who said they were leaving X – remain on X.
All the actual high quality contributors – are on X.
Even left wing nuts can not actually manage to give it up.
Those of you on the far left HATE that you have to share X with the great unwashed.
But X not only is the place that matters – that is even MORE true today than 2 years ago.
The Big loser in the nov. 5th election was the MSM – it is clear people do not trust them, and few even watch them.
The big winner is alternative media – and X dominates that space.
But you are free to beleive otherwise.
“Blackpower coffee for 2A supporters. ”
Black Powder Coffee is the brand marketed to firearms enthusiasts; the variety you mentioned caters to the BLM crowd… Sorry, couldn’t resist ;>)
“ Despite your ranting – X is growing not shrinking.”
Yet, you provide no evidence to back up that assertion. X is losing value, and subscribers. That’s not growth. Threads has more subscribers than X and is adding more. X has been losing revenue every year. That is not growth.
Perhaps you should read what you say instead.
We don’t hate X. We are just pointing out the fact that X is not performing according to investor expectation. Losing 24 Billion invalue is not a good thing.
The ONLY reason X is still standing is because Elon is supporting is through the use of his other successful businesses. It’s not standing on it’s own which shows the failure of allowing unfettered speech to run rampant. It proves that moderation matters more than the concept of absolute free speech. This is the market proving that even absolute free speech is not profitable or appealing to the majority of consumers.
“We don’t hate X.”
Who’s “We,” George???? You and Gigi? You and Gigi and Dennis?
I label the three of you because none of you EVER says anything nice about Turley or his blog, or other commenters.
YOUR COLLECTIVE NEGATIVITY will neither harm us nor hurt this blog.
George – again read your own posts.
No turley has not overlooked a “crucial” element of free speech.
I know this is alien to you – but free markets are about far more than just buying and selling.
They are about measuring peoples values and preferences.
You keep making these claims that X is collapsing – while those claims are false and usualy based on a single piss poor data point,
if they actually were true – then the people will have spoken. Conversely if X is growing and increasingly profitable – getting rid of 70% of the staff and still delivering the same product will boost profits, then the people have ALSO spoken.
Bluesky rising until its Niche market has been fully exploited is near certain.
Bluesky actually ever becoming a competitor for Twitter is highly unlikely.
Regardless, what is CRUCIAL about Free speech is determined by the free market – Musk has made one bet, Blueskyu has made another.
You are betting with your mouth, but have no actual skin in the game.
And it is highly unlikely that your claims regarding Twitter or Bluesky will have any more worth than your claims regarding the election
Turley appears to overlook a crucial element of free speech.
George’s drops his FOURTH Daily Deuce today, as always, beginning with insulting his host, Professor Turley. Followed by “speaking his truths” from the Bluesky Democrat Marxist Borg.
George is dropping so much Democrat Bull Schiff today that his @sshole is getting jealous it can’t keep up.
You are mocked and despised here George, not appreciated as a fellow guest. Why are you here instead of on your beloved substacks, George?
The lefties in search of an ideological bubble to cry in isn’t working. Read the replies to George Conway’s moronic fear mongering Magic 8 Ball post.
https://bsky.app/profile/gtconway.bsky.social/post/3lbu4efhmk22o
Bluesky is skyrocketing in popularity, but it’s facing a hitch in snagging more servers to keep up with demand. Meanwhile, X seems to be stumbling, grappling with significant losses, dwindling subscribers, and advertisers jumping ship.
For many users, the appeal of effective content moderation on platforms like Bluesky is hard to resist. Investors are starting to take notice, shifting their gaze toward Bluesky as X racks up an astonishing $24 billion in losses.
In a surprising twist, Threads has now outpaced X in user numbers, and that’s a troubling sign for Musk. With Trump back in the spotlight, it wouldn’t be too shocking to see Threads potentially take the lead as the dominant social platform. What’s crystal clear is that Bluesky and Threads are riding the wave of X’s misfortunes, providing a far more inviting environment for civil discussions compared to X—let alone this blog!
lol
George – if you want to join Bluesky – go for it.
Bluesky has 20M users and 3.5M active daily users – X has 217M active Daily users.
There is no comparison.
But if you wish to truly beleive that Bluesky is some threat to Twitter
Bluesky’s market cap is 24M
DJT – Truth is 6.7B about 300 times larger
DJT is a media conglomerate – including more than just Truth.
And you keep repeating this idiotic nonsense that X has lost value – that is based on a stupid self valuation of a tiny bit of Truth stock by a hedge fund that does not own enough of X to get internal financials.
In the long run the market itself will actually resolve this.
In the meantime I would ask you WHAT in terms of market predictions you have EVER been accurate regarding ?
How much money did truthsocial take in last quarter?
The Market Cap you mention is based on hope and a dream. Certainly possible for lots of companies. But when the company spews lies and hatred, hard to see how that is a winning business proposition.
truthsocial and X are both losing money hand over fist.
“The Market Cap you mention is based on hope and a dream. Certainly possible for lots of companies. But when the company spews lies and hatred, hard to see how that is a winning business proposition.”
How did you Democrats campaigning on the hope and dream that spewing lies and hatred and calling it “Joyous” would get the Border Czar elected, commie?
Did you think the two standards you live and breath on would bring you success?
Bluesky is here for you, commie. Please invest accordingly and heavily.
“How much money did truth social take in last quarter?”
Don’t know, don’t care – do not own X or FJT or Bluesky stock.
“The Market Cap you mention is based on hope and a dream.”
No it is called MARKET CAP for a reason – it is the value of DJT as determined by the MARKET.
Further you clearly know very little about economics.
“All value is subjective, and no good or service has any intrinsic value. This subjectivity of value is one of the most significant concepts in economics. In this simple but profound insight, we discover how buyers and sellers can both come out ahead on a deal.”
The value of anything is what a willing buyer and a willing sellor agree to.
That is the ONLY value of anything.
The value of homes tanked starting in 2006 – because people decided that homes were not worth what sellers were asking.
The value of Amazon, Samsung, Disney, Anheiser Bush, DJT are all decided subjectively by the market.
“Certainly possible for lots of companies.”
No it is a part of how ALL companies are valued.
“But when the company spews lies and hatred, hard to see how that is a winning business proposition.”
Probably not. DJT opened on 10/1/2021 at 9.95, it is currently at 30.5 – that is a 300% increase.
“truthsocial and X are both losing money hand over fist.”
Twitter’s add revenue is down by about 22%, its expenses are down by an estimated 50%
It is difficult to tell as a private company, but it is probably profitable, which it was NOT before it was purchased by Musk.
Prior to Musk Twitter was only protifable 2 years out of 8
Truth Social is not profitable – but its 2023 losses were down 59% from prior losses.
It will likely be profitable.
BlueSky’s total Market Value is less than half of Truth’s revenue.
What is to stop the lot of us from registering for BlueSky and raining torrents on their parade? Kind of like George, Gigi, Dennis, etc. do here? I’d wager we are a lot tougher than they are, maybe a test/demonstration of that is in order?
George we have been through the “the sky is falling” nonsense regarding Twitter before.
If you are enamoured of Bluesky – GO as fast as you can. Rush to your safety blanket – and pray that you do not offend the gatekeepers of the left who could permanently chase you from paradise for using the wrong pronouns for one of the 347 different genders.
Regardless, the market will decide between Bluesky and Twitter – not that they are actual competitors.
Bluesky is a bubble – much like Truth – though it is a smaller bubble and as such has an inconsequential market capitalization.
I would note that Musk constructed a server farm in GA a few months ago that cost many many times more than Bluesky’s entire market capitalization.
Of course bluesky can not keep up with demand – going from nothing to 100 times nothing in a short times is hard.
But Bluesky is not even a competitor for Truth – much less X.
DJT is a multimedia enterprise – more so than even X. It also focuses on being “family friendly” – content on Truth is heavily moderated – not for political spin, but for suitability for children.
Younger kids ACTUALLY need a safe space – lunatic left wing needs ACTUALLY need to be exposed to though outside their bubble.
If you are so much of a toddler that you can not tolerate people who do not share your world view – then go to bluesky
Scott Jennings Pulls Hilarious Reversal During Argument About X With Fellow CNN Panelists
When Scott Jennings pointed out X is more ideologically balanced after @elonmusk bought the platform, Cari Champion and the host, Audie Cornish, asked what the source was for that reporting.
Jennings said it was from CNN.
“It’s not accurate and you know it,” Champion replied. pic.twitter.com/Hwh3RFDjBC

Bluesky Liberals Defying The Will of We The People. https://torrancestephensphd.substack.com/p/bluesky-liberals-defying-the-will
Frankly I think the appearance of Bluesky is but one of many manifestations of America’s secret sauce: Creative Destruction. While it is not my cup of tea, lets allow the market to decide based on free choice. As to the concern that subscribers to Bluesky will not be exposed to useful points of view, well if that is indeed the case at some point reality will set in and these subscribers may realize what they have been missing. There just needs to be some forums where ideas can be freely exchanged by the general public.
Turley seems to be projecting a bit of jealousy toward Bluesky. Could it be because X has been losing a lot more than just liberals? Turley cannot know whether those quitting X are liberal or conservative. While X has less ‘censorship,’ it still censors content that violates its TOS.
X has been losing subscribers and advertisers who don’t want to be associated with extremists, white supremacists, bigots, etc. X is no longer attractive to advertisers and has been losing money. It is reported that X has lost nearly 80% of its value, which helps competitors like Bluesky and Threads gain subscribers.
X has turned into a right-wing cesspool of trolls and extremists. It almost makes Parler and Telegram look tame.
The irony is that even on this blog, Trolls abound, and the insults and ad hominem attacks are constant. Turley has mentioned this to be a problem but doesn’t know how to manage it without compromising the free speech he holds so dear. He’s all about civility and respectful discourse, but he’s not enforcing it. Bluesky does, and it’s a much better place to have a genuine discussion without worrying about trolls and those who are not serious about having a meaningful discussion because they enforce THEIR rules.
When rating sites point out who is better or worse, X and Turley will not be at the top. Turley has already complained about being ranked and deemed biased and demands those rating companies be defunded or punished in some form for having the audacity to claim his blog is terrible or a poor choice. Ironically, that’s free speech in action, and Turley seems to want to ‘censor’ these companies by threatening to punish or defund them. Hypocrisy perhaps?
The persons leaving X are suffering from Trump Derangement Syndrome.
Fortunately, for them the US State Department is paying for the treatment.
Unfortunately, the US taxpayers and their yet unborn grandchildren are picking up the tab.
Fortunately, Elon and Vivek will fix that.
Grow up, George. Just have milk and cookies before your bedtime.
You just made my point. Thanks
Svelaz
Feel free to leave. You won’t be missed.
Turley seems to be projecting a bit of jealousy toward Bluesky.
George seems to be here today as sure as night follows day, to insult his host with his usual whining, complaining prelude: “Professor Turley is wrong as always and I am right as always”.
Then followed with Curious George’s version of the Democrat Bluesky world he lives in, interspaced with more insults directed towards his chosen personal nemesis, Professor Turley.
We are not supposed to believe our lying eyes telling us Curious George is posting nothing but Harris-style word salad Bull Schiff.
The question remains: you don’t persuade anyone with your lies, your dissembling, and your misstatements. Instead you get called out as a liar, jeered, mocked, and resemble the fat kid left popping zits on the sidelines while the rest of the kids play sports and nobody there wants you on their team.
Why are you REALLY here?
Curious George, you sophomoric Marxist Monkey, please tell the mocking audience it is something other than personal sexual gratification (Ewwwwww!!!!)
That is not “free speech” in action. That is Soviet style cancel culture.
George
This tiring parade of nonsense is boring.
It could be – as you claimed, that Trump is losing the election by 3, 4, 10 points or more.
But it wasn’t.
It could be that J6 was an insurrection
but it wasn’t.
It could be that Hunter’s laptop was russina disinformation
but it wasn’t
It could be that russians colluded with Trump in 2016
But it wasn’t
It could be that Covid came from Wet markets in China
But it wasn’t.
Please rush off to bluesky as quickly as your little fingers can carry you.
Rush off to your bubble where lies are truth and where so long as you are inside the bubble you do not have to deal with reality.
Go join the like minded racists, and Bigots, and all the others who pretend you are virtuous while screwing over those you claim to protect, leave the real world behind.
John Say,
Well said!
Ha, ha! Great piece. I can imagine anyone living so insularly for so long would begin to lose it eventually. 🤷🏽♂️
James,
Would begin to lose it? They already lost it! Just look at all their lies. Their delusions. Their narrative has fallen apart and they continue on as if nothing has changed while the whole world goes on without them.
At the center of this a festering group of single minded Borg who cannot accept facts and engage in discussion on that basis. Instead, they “speak their truths”. Which wouldn’t be as much of a problem if they didn’t also demand that everybody accept their “truths” and discuss them on the basis that they are indeed facts. A Borg that screams in outrage when people refuse to do so.
That would be the people who say boys can menstruate and get pregnant.
That would be the people who say America is better off and has a more secure future through the decision to open the border to 20+ million unvetted Illegal Aliens.
That would be people like pbinca whose truth is that the 2020 election was the most fair and transparent election ever; the Big Lie is Trump saying Marc Elias, Zuckerburg, 51 Intelligence experts, etc rigged it.
The “truths’ picked up from their political and thought leaders. And of course their “social influencers” i.e. the ones more at home at Bluesky.
It would be fine if all of these people who want to “speak their truths” confined at least their social media discussions to Bluesky, where they would find nothing but similar heads nodding up and down in soothing, reassuring agreement.
However, anyone who believes they will adopt a let and let live attitude towards the rest of the world that disagrees with their “truths” in other places and other spaces (like Professor Turley’s blog) really needs to give their dopey head a shake.
The very fact that there are people that disagree with “their truths” offends them. And they are in terminal angst because they cannot create a perfect utopian world free of being confronted by the sight or sound of dissent where “their truths” are rejected. How to throw them a lifeline to bring them back to the real adult world? I have no idea; particularly when they’re more comfortable in their current Bluesky world.
And yes, there are indeed people who would be identified as being from the pejorative “right” who think and act that way. But their numbers pale to the point of almost disappearing when compared to those from the Borg that have given kowtowing fealty to the cultural, political, and economic Marxism of Obama/Clinton/Biden/Harris while Mainstream Media, colleges, Hollywood and sports prop “their truths” up and promote them.
Old Airborne Dog,
“How to throw them a lifeline to bring them back to the real adult world? I have no idea.”
Toss them an anvil called “Wokeism,” and watch them sink under their own self importance.
I agree. Why would we want to save them. It seems to me that they have elected to isolate themselves from the great mass of the USA. That is likely to lead to their extinction. When you don’t participate you also cut yourself off from the advances the rest of the USA and the world achieves and you gradually reach the point of inability to communicate and then eventually inability to interact in any meaningful way and extinction will likely follow. I would keep monitors in the Bluesky mainly to make sure some really radical malignancy does not form there that might poison the rest us. Interaction and disagreement are fine but a malignancy can be fatal.
GEB,
Well said. They are the ones who are constantly accusing us of being all kinds of things. Nazis, white supremacists. Misogynists. Pick a -ist. They want to goto their little safe space with all the censorship they want, see ya! Let them seeth in their little bubble, spreading their leftist lies in their echo chamber, I dont care. Dont go away mad, just go away. Society as a whole will be better off without such small minded, intolerant, self absorbed children.
Upstate Farmer: Toss them an anvil called “Wokeism,” and watch them sink under their own self importance.
The college/media/entertainment/sports/Soviet Democrat Borg we are seeing today is not unseen before in history. But unlike the Moonies, Hare Krishna, etc, it is incredibly widespread throughout different segments of the population. It’s not the stereotypical “college kids”. It runs up to old age pensioners in age and into the blue collar working Americans who did very well without spending a day attending college. And the wealthy that are particularly labeled as one of the primary targets of the Democrat Borg politicians.
If you had told people in their 40’s and up who voted for Biden in 2020 and then for Harris this month 20 years ago that as a candidate you believed that boys could menstruate and get pregnant, that men could go into girls’ changerooms as long as they claimed they were male, that you intended to change immigration law because we needed tens of millions of unvetted and undocumented “immigrants”…
… you would have left your party’s primary voting with fewer votes than Harris got in the 2020 Soviet Democrat primary.
Think of the mature adult voters who would have considered that completely crazy if they were again voting in 2004. But they rushed to vote for it in 2020 and again in 2024. These middle aged and senior citizen voters, many who are blue collar, many who are still working, many who chose a path other than starting with college didn’t grow up in the Borg reality and they didn’t start their working life immersed in the Borg reality.
Despite that, they accepted the Democrat Borg “truths” and voted for it. Here in Montana, we had a large vociferous group of “Veterans For Tester” who failed this time to get him reelected as they did his previous election. Many of them were proud to say they were Vietnam veterans supporting Tester – meaning they were at least 70 years of age. They didn’t grow up, fight, and then work their whole lives “Woke”. They were joined by veterans who left high school to enlist immediately after 9/11, rather than choose as others did to begin a much safer civilian life doing something else. They didn’t grow up in the age of Democrat Woke either, nor did they fight under a Woke Commander In Chief.
I doubt that a single Soviet Democrat apologist and troll here, if you asked them to their face “who is Jim Webb in your party”, could tell you who that is unless you allowed them to scramble for their smartphone (their only source of intelligence) to Google search his name.
And yet, Webb is a Democrat who has the kind of credentials and ideas that would have made him very persuasive to many Republicans dissatisfied with the politics of the Bush/McCain/Romney Republicans. I watched that primary he ran in with great interest – it looked like if nominated he could try steering the Democrat party at least someways back toward Realville.
To nobody’s surprise, the Soviet Democrats that Obama created not only rejected him, they essentially drove him out of the party. My opinion is that his crime is that we would not blindly accept “the truths” spoken by Obama and Biden during their eight years and which Clinton happily parroted in hopes of being Obama’s Third Term.
This is just an opinion and the observances around it. I don’t have a clue about answers to deal with this malignant cancer in our society and our politics.
Rob Reiner is already complaining that Blue Sky is allowing some contrary ideas and disagreeing with him, which is, of course, a crime.
Great column professor!
Reminds me of two articles I heard on NPR and the 2016 postmortem election results. The one, the reporter was discussing the kind of people who voted for Trump, non-college educated, blue collar workers, minorities, white females. Thing was, you could hear her disdain, her contempt, her malice for those people through the radio speaker.
The other, he went outside of his highly urban, East coast area, into flyover country to talk with these people. He noted that not only he, but liberal media at large ignored these people. And he also noted they continued to do so! They prefer to just ignore nearly half, now over half, of the country and remain in their little bubble. Likely that is why so many of us dismiss them. They are not interested in talking with us, they look down on us with no good reason, their contempt for us is plain as the noses on their faces. If they are so threatened by us, they have to retreat to their safe spaces with censorship of anything outside of their echo chamber, see ya!
Bluesky strikes me as rather like Democrats stuffing the ballot box in a deep blue district for a general election. What’s the point? It is an Amen Corner with no congregation, sitting by itself outside the church. They’ve abandoned even the idea of reaching their target audience, which would be undecided or malleable voters. At least with Twitter/X there was the occasional pretense of neutrality. Apparently the Left demands utter and uncontested monopoly or they won’t play. Sometimes the other team gets to bat. Deal with it.
Your comment is why we left … “apparently the left demands utter and uncontested … ” … your lack of respect for your fellow human is abhorrent.
