“He has Good Days and Bad Days”: The Journal Exposes the Concerted Effort to Conceal Biden’s Mental Decline

In an explosive exposé, the Wall Street Journal has revealed how the mental decline of President Joe Biden was pronounced from the start of his term. However, cabinet members and other Democrats lied to the public about his declining levels of acuity and engagement. That effort succeeded largely with the help of an alliance with the media, which showed little interest in whether the President was actually running the government.

After President Joe Biden’s disastrous debate performance, the solid wall of media and staff shielding his declining mental state collapsed. Even after Special Counsel Robert Hur declined criminal charges against Biden due to his diminished state, Democratic pundits and the press covered for him, claiming that he was sharp and effective. With the debate, the public was able to see what many in the media and the White House had been hiding for years.

After interviewing roughly 50 insiders, the Journal found evidence of a knowing effort to hide Biden’s mental state. For many, Biden’s refusal to leave his home for much of the 2020 campaign was evidence of the insecurity of staff about his ability to engage with reporters. It only got worse during the term as staff virtually tackled anyone trying to ask him a question. Biden was routinely shuffled off stage after reading briefly from a teleprompter.

Behind the scenes, cabinet members reportedly stopped asking for meetings with Biden after staff conveyed that such requests were not welcomed. He held far fewer cabinet meetings and was often considered “down” for any discussions. That included a period during the calamity of the Afghan withdrawal.

One official is quoted as admitting on one occasion in 2021 that Biden “has good days and bad days, and today was a bad day so we’re going to address this tomorrow.” That was just after he was elected.

Yet, Biden was kept within the protective cocoon of media that did not press the issue and was infamous for ignoring scandals while asking Biden about his choice of ice cream on a given day.

Now, some media outlets are re-positioning on the issue as they prepare to resume hard questioning and investigations in the new Trump Administration . . . after a four-year hiatus.

Suddenly, everyone is shocked to learn that Biden was mentally diminished and blaming nameless staff for misleading them.

One exception this week was Chris Cillizza, who served as CNN’s editor-at-large before leaving the network in 2022. On YouTube, Cillizza stated, “As a reporter, I have a confession to make” and admitted “I should have pushed harder earlier for more information about Joe Biden’s mental and physical well-being and any signs of decline.”

Now, everyone likes a redemptive sinner and I give Cillizza credit for admitting his own failure to pursue the story despite many critics objecting for years over the lack of such inquiries.

However, Cillizza only confessed to failing to pursue the story due to a fear of being accused of “age shaming” Biden. The suggestion is that identity politics chilled journalism, not the overwhelming media support for the President and countervailing opposition to Trump.

The “age shaming” excuse is difficult to square with the failure to pursue an array of other scandals during the term from influence peddling to policy debacles.

Nevertheless, Cillizza was remarkably frank that he was only able to push on the story after leaving CNN:

“I didn’t really push on it, if I’m being honest. Now, once I left CNN and once it became a little bit more clear to me about Biden’s age, I think I did write pretty regularly and talk pretty regularly about how I wasn’t sure that this guy was up to it. And then obviously, after the June 27 debate, everybody, including me, was writing and talking about it.”

Putting Cillizza’s statement aside, there is a notable effort by some in the media to retroactively resume journalism after years of docile coverage on issues such as Biden’s incapacity.

The belated interest in the story reflects not only the limits of modern journalism but the limits of the 25th Amendment. From the outset, there was concern over Biden’s acuity and stamina within the White House. It was hidden from the public. His cabinet members like DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas, Secretary of Commerce Gina Raimondo, and others quashed claims of any diminishment with first-hand testimonials about how sharp and impressive the President was in meetings. Vice President Kamala Harris echoed those claims.

The Vice President and the cabinet are essential to the removal process under the 25th Amendment. Section 4 allows the removal of a president. One option is what I have called the “mutiny option.” It requires a vice president and a majority of the Cabinet to declare that the president is “unable to discharge the powers and duties of his office,” and notify Congress that the vice president intends to take over. If Vice President Kamala Harris could get eight Cabinet officers to go along with a letter to Congress, her status as the “Acting President” would likely be short-lived. Joe Biden would only have to declare to Congress that “no inability exists.” Biden would then resume his powers. That would then trigger a congressional fight.

In reality, the Biden term shows how they can often be part of the cover-up.

The 25th Amendment also does not define incapacity and having “good days and bad days” is unlikely to suffice. As I previously discussed, the issue of “disability” of a president was briefly raised in the Constitutional Convention in 1787.  It was a delegate from Biden’s home state of Delaware who asked how they would respond to a disability, “and who is to be the judge of it?” John Dickinson’s question was left unanswered in the final version of the Constitution.

What followed were persistent controversies over succession. This issue came to a head after President Dwight D. Eisenhower suffered a stroke. After the assassination of President John F. Kennedy, Congress finally addressed the issue in the 25th Amendment. The amendment addresses the orderly succession of power as well as temporary disabilities when presidents must undergo medical treatment or surgeries.

This process is even more unlikely to occur when the media has formed a protective line around a president.

The problem was never “age shaming,” it was a shameless effort to shield this president from tough questions and public exposure.

  1. There were national security matters to be considered — foreign adversaries would relish the opportunity to “test” a publicly weakened U.S. President, and delight in the inability of Americans to face up to a crisis of leadership dementia because there would be no better alternative (until the next 4-year election).

At least some few journalists may have considered this quandary. Although, I think the great majority, blinded by domestic politics, were working the cover-up as a matter of simple infowarfare, where newsworthiness translates into making the opposition look bad and “their side” look good. This is the default human instinct of tribal loyalty.

It’s now up to Pres-elect Trump to put aside political tribalism as childish and unsophisticated — unworthy of a great nation.

  2. “‘Elon Is Controlling Trump!’ Complain People Controlling Biden”, the Babylon Bee reports.

  3. Everyone saw the emperor without clothes. The media’s lies are falling upon their heads. Who believes legacy media today? As a conservative, I always watched CNN and MSNBC in addition to FOX, because I wanted balance. A couple years ago, it was evident that MSNBC wasn’t even a news channel anymore, and CNN followed suit. We NEED media that is believable. But, as it stands now, FOX (aside from opinion commentators like Hannity, Watters, Ingles) has the most unbiased news. Wall Street Journal is the gold standard. The rest is painful and absolute garbage.

  4. This is for “George” and all the liberal trolls still pretending Biden’s coherent and doesn’t have dementia.

This is from the liberal MSM. So can’t cry “Maga” on these guys.

This is your people talking. The jigs up.

  5. A college boy walks up to a cute math student. He asks her if she would like to go out with him. It is Tuesday morning. She tells him, “You can ask me again in one million seconds.”

He’s pretty smart but still has to use his phone to make the calculation and figures out he can ask her again on Friday.

Another boy, not quite so nice or handsome asks her if she will go out with him. She says, “You can ask me again in one billion seconds. I will give you my answer then. He’s not too good with figures. He thinks he has a pretty good chance until
His roommate ( a math student) tells him that on billion seconds is nearly 32 years. He will have to wait until he is over 50 years old.

A third boy, not too bright, obnoxious but with ambitions for politics asks her to go out with him. She said, “Ask me again in one trillion seconds. Then, I will give you my answer.”

It took him a while but eventually realized that adding three zeros to a billion seconds is 32,700 years (400 lifetimes).

People toss around the number trillion like it’s nothing. We are currently spending 6000 dollars more than we take in for every man, woman and child each year. This is insane and in not sustainable. Every man woman and child owes 110,000 to the government (with interest).

We heading for a cliff and there are no brakes and currently our driver is asleep at the wheel.

    1. E.M. – There is an easy solution to the terrifying debt problem. Joe Biden merely needs to ask our creditors to forgive our debts. If he is stupid enough to forgive debts, why should not other world leaders do the same?

      1. edwardmahl Joe Biden merely needs to ask our creditors to forgive our debts. If he is stupid enough to forgive debts, why should not other world leaders do the same?

And what about our debt that is represented by the IOU’s we wrote to our Social Security and other funds that we withdrew “excess funds” to spend?

Only about 20% of our debt is intragovernmental, owed to foreign governments with Japan at the top of that list followed by the ChiComs and the U.K.

So how do we ask ourselves to forgive the debt we owe to ourselves?

    1. Hopefully Trump will be a moderating influence on the Musk presidency.

What an amusing way to say “I’m DEVASTATED that Trump ended Obama’s attempt to serve a fourth term”.

    2. Did you think that Trump campaigning to put Musk and Vivek in charge of Curtting govenment that was a purely ceremonial position ?

Aboslutely Musk is Trump’s Milei and is going to be running arround with a chain saw shouting “Aferie”
If Musk is 1/10th as successful as Milei – an economy that is currently stumbling – inflation has been slowly rising again for several months, will see REAL recovery.

      1. Of course the left is terrified, they have done everything in their power, including abuse government power and they still lost.

  6. One way to solve the issue in an everlasting way requires a profound investigation of what appear to be the many crimes committed by president Biden’s puppeteers. These puppeteers must receive significant jail sentences.

  7. This is the most consequential Big Lie of our time. There has been a shameful collusion of cabinet members, the Vice President, Democratic members of Congress and the media to hide the obvious truth of a diminished President.
Shame on them all for jeopardizing the security of this nation with lies.

    1. With respect – no it is just one more in a long list of lies. Mostly stupid silly lies.

Along with the rest it has destroyed the credibility of those spreading it.

  8. We’ve had no President for four years and we still don’t have one with WW3 on the horizon. This conspiracy of serial lies should disqualify the Democrats from ever holding power again.

    1. I should have listened to you 8 years ago but I couldn’t see it. I was too busy making a halfway decent living under Trump, I had a lot more work back then. Then came Biden and the woke mob and the woke mob woke me up.

Suddenly I saw why he was so heavy on the Twitter, I’d have gone there too if they were doing that stuff to me.

Now here we are on the brink of World War III. Now I’m wide awake. Got bloodshot eyes even.

Anyway I listen to you now. Far as I’m concerned you’re the smartest guy in the room.

    2. I think we are likely past the risk of WWIII.

Peace will be negotiated – either by Trump and his people now, or in a month.

Putin will wait. It is highly unlikely he will blow up the world in the next month – almost no matter what Biden does.

      1. Well I agree that Putin is showing amazing restraint given Biden’s blatant attempts to provoke him.

But I’ve always watched and more importantly listened and listened closely and observed Putin in during each of the Carlson interviews along with the interviews he’s done on other foreign media platforms and I watched the recent Carlson interview with the Russian foreign minister and again paid close attention to what he had to say and how he said it.

Russia’s very restrained here, but they’ve also made it clear there will be repercussions to each incursion into Russian soil and aggression towards Russia that is made possible by a 3rd party nation such as the US or England, and I’m confident they don’t want to start WWIII, but they’re not going to budge on the missiles near Moscow.

We almost went to war in 62 when I was just 2 over Russia trying to place missile 1500 miles and 5 minutes strike time from DC and the Pentagon, and Putins made it clear that he’s not going to allow the Ukraine to join NATO which would mean NATO could place missiles less than a minutes air strike time from Moscow.

Putin’s made it clear he’ll measure his responses. He even alerted DC 30 minutes prior to launching his hypersonic missile attack since the trajectory of the missile took it into the atmosphere momentarily (I believe its
a “popgun shot”) and he didn’t want NORAD mistaking it for a first strike).

He launched that missile in response to 24 Russian soldiers being killed by the mid range missile strikes inside of Russia using US made and provided missiles that Biden suddenly authorized to be used to strike inside of Russian territory, But it was a measured response, so I agree he’s showing due restraint and that’s promising.

Which is why Biden’s trying to shift his efforts to Iran to try to trigger the global conflict and draw Moscow in.

So I agree Putin’s showing some restraint, thank God, but I don’t think the Biden boys are done yet.

Looks like he’s trying to start trouble on another front where Russia has interests, like Iran, and I’d also keep one eye out for a little bird flu epidemic.

Hope I’m wrong on this, and hope January brings peace.

  9. The democrats knew in 2020 the mental and physical condition of the big guy. And they were thinking of having him run for a second term. He’s probably not going to be here in 2028. Back in 1980 the last thing Jimmy Carter did was give every federal employee a pay raise. This is after Ronald Regan ran on a platform of cutting the size of the federal government. Look what the democrats are doing today to Donald Trump.

  10. Senator Mitchell McConnell’s last words to the US Senate as GOP Leader. Couldn’t have come soon enough.
Senator Susan Collins is sitting directly behind Sen McConnell and it appears she may have a movement disorder of some sort: noticeable head shaking.

    1. Maybe it was an Earthquake, otherwise I don’t think either of them would have noticed.

  11. Apparently Trump is cheating on J.D. with Elon.
    Typical Trump behavior.

Now J.D. knows how Melania feels.

    1. “Apparently Trump is cheating on J.D. with Elon. Typical Trump behavior.”

Apparently Biden is cheating on his daughter Ashley by bedding the First Babysitter, Dr. Jill.

And while Joe is putting the nuts to his daughter Ashley, his son is putting the nuts to his daughter-in- law Kathleen.

All Democrats crave knowing why Biden Incest Is Best.

    1. The fact that he was not competent does not mean he was not president.

However illegitimate the election he became president on Jan 20 2021. The constitution does not require competence to be president.
He can only resign, die, be impeached, have his term expire or be removed by the 25th amendment.
Until one of those occurs he is the president of the Untited states even if he no longer knows it.

  12. Thanks for your thoughts, professor. BTW it should be “repentant sinner.” Only God is redemptive in this relationship.

  13. Turley: is there no depth to which you would refuse to go to score MAGA media points? You throw out the “Biden is impaired” claim without anything resembling a scintilla of expert opinion, and you fail to name even one staff member to back up the claims published by The Wall Street Journal, which is OWNED BY RUPERT MURDOCH–YOUR EMPLOYER!

Well, here’s what some actual named experts say about aging, cognitive impairment and mental fitness and Joe Biden:

““Mistaking someone or misspeaking doesn’t mean you have dementia,” said Dr. Zaldy S. Tan, director of the Cedars-Sinai Memory and Healthy Aging Program.

As we age, Tan said, “we have some changes associated with information processing. The speed … slows down. That’s part of normal aging. Mentally, we won’t be able to pull out that information as quickly as we once did if someone is asked a question or rapid-fire questions. We need more time to process that information.”

Without a full exam and neurological testing, as well as a look at how Biden functions behind the scenes day to day, Tan said, it’s not possible to make a clinical diagnosis.

“I think it’s important for the public to know that someone in their later years may not be as quick and snappy as someone who is younger, but it doesn’t mean they are not capable of doing a job. It depends on what the job is and whether speed of thinking is paramount, or whether experience and wisdom” are more important, Tan said.

Debra Cherry, a clinical psychologist and executive vice president of Alzheimer’s Los Angeles, echoed Tan on the danger of long-distance diagnoses.

“I don’t have any reason to believe that Biden has any sign of cognitive impairment, and I don’t have any reason to believe that Trump has cognitive impairment,” Cherry said.

There once was, however, a president who was a bit easier to assess.

“I think back to when Ronald Reagan was in office and he showed many more signs of cognitive impairment before he was finally diagnosed,” Cherry said.

Professor Margaret Gatz, an Alzheimer’s researcher who’s been at USC since 1979, said she objected to the special counsel calling Biden elderly and forgetful, as if the one guarantees the other. One person might be fuzzy at 60 and another sharp at 90.

Gatz said people with cognitive impairment or even mild dementia find ways to compensate and continue normal function — they might put the car keys in the same spot every time they return home, for instance.

“If you ask someone to remember a list of 16 words and see how many they can say back, even if they can’t do that very well, it may have little or no implication for their decision making in other areas of life,” Gatz said. “If Mr. Biden cannot reel off the names of the capitals of every country he’s been to, that does not have implications for whether he can think clearly, creatively and decisively about how to handle crises and policy decisions.”

Here’s the real political story brewing right now–Trump has allowed Elon Musk, who gave him between $250 and 300 million, to take over the presidency, even though Trump hasn’t even taken the oath of office. Musk is calling the shots. Musk got Republicans to tank the bipartisan deal to keep the government open. Trump is trying to bully Congress and Biden to raise the debt ceiling so that right after he stinks up the location for the inauguration, he can pass massive tax cuts to benefit Musk and ot her billionaires and wealthy companies.

And, what programs does Musk want to cut, so he and his billionaire friends can put more cash in their pockets? According to Rolling Stone:

“As a result, the new stripped-down funding bill proposed today is literally throwing out the baby with the bathwater: It will exclude $190 million for the bipartisan “Give Kids a Chance” program for child cancer research. Sam Stein of the Bulwark points out that the new bill also excludes funding for research on premature labor, sickle cell disease treatment, early detection of breast and cervical cancer, the Rural Broadband Protection Act, an anti-deepfake porn bill, and more.

“F**k cancer. Especially pediatric cancer,” Sen. Brian Schatz (D-Hawaii) wrote on X. “These people want to punish these previous little kids to pay for tax cuts for the wealthiest corporations in human history.”

President-elect Donald Trump endorsed the new funding bill this afternoon, writing on Truth Social: “Speaker Mike Johnson and the House have come to a very good Deal for the American People. The newly agreed to American Relief Act of 2024 will keep the Government open, fund our Great Farmers and others, and provide relief for those severely impacted by the devastating hurricanes.”

“A VERY important piece, VITAL to the America First Agenda, was added as well — The date of the very unnecessary Debt Ceiling will be pushed out two years, to January 30, 2027,” Trump added. “All Republicans, and even the Democrats, should do what is best for our Country, and vote ‘YES’ for this Bill, TONIGHT.”

Democrats have been trolling Trump since Musk sank the original funding deal on Wednesday, referring to the billionaire as “President Musk” after he bent congressional Republicans to his will. Musk, like Trump, seems pleased with the new version of the legislation. He posted an image of the amount of pages of the now-dead deal compared to the substantially smaller number of pages of the new bill, adding a laughing emoji.'”

Other items in the bipartisan budget are funds for disaster relief. Musk, the richest person in the world, wants more money–so disaster victims can just go to hell.

But, Turley uses his platform to repeat un-attributed claims about Biden being senile, instead of addressing the obscene notion of cutting off funds for pediatric cancer research and early detection of cervical and breast cancer and premature labor and sickle cell disease.

    1. “You throw out the “Biden is impaired” claim without anything resembling a scintilla of expert opinion,”

Here is the entire problem exposed in a single line. These liberals will lie through their teeth as if they think we’re ALL BLIND!

      Evidence?

WE CAN SEE HE’S GOT DEMENTIA!!!

      This ain’t rocket science.

Signs of Dementia are common knowledge, we’ve all dealt with a relative or parent with it. I spent 10 years watching my own Father decline until he finally passed at 91.

What sort of belly crawling lying worm of the state would just throw something so ridiculous out as to claim there’s no evidence when everyone with eyes can see it?

You must be a special kind of stupid….

      1. Chris–WHAT, exactly, do you MAGAs SEE? List the items, and explain what qualifies you to opine about Biden or my “stupidity”.

        1. ha ha hey that’s funny stuff.

Ok, well first I’m not sure I qualify as “MAGA”

I mean I didn’t vote for Trump first time around in fact I spoke against both him and Biden.

          That’s before I woke up.

I was so busy making a living that I failed to see that the reason he was tweeting wildly from the residence was because they really were doing those things to him, i.e spying on him, “trumping up” charges to try to arrest and imprison him, etc.

So he was actually doing what I’d do. I’m a little like Trump that way I think, I get defensive when people attack me so had the establishment been trying to do to me what they were doing to Trump I’d probably have leveraged Twitter too.

In fact I learned a lot about Trump, by not liking him the first time around. Once I saw what the democrats (and a lot of republicans) were doing to him, and more importantly, “why”, they were doing it to him, I realized it was because he presented a real threat to the status quo system that has held the population down for half a century now.

He may have come from their circles, but doesn’t seem like he ever ran in them.

I learned a lot about Trump and the character of the man, boisterous as he may be, … simply by you woke liberals and your insane, unfounded and unhinged hatred and attacks on the man.

I mean I didn’t think much of him originally but he wasn’t the antichrist or nothing. Just a loud guy who I didn’t get at the time.

You guys woke me up him. … imagine the irony there.

          Anyway, that’s off topic.

          Now back to your stupidity.

What “qualifies” me is what I just told you.

When you’ve gone through it FIRST HAND for over a DECADE, .. you’re an expert. You can spot a dementia patient a mile away.

When its advanced like that, like it is with Biden, they all look alike.

In VIETNAM they called “the 1000 mile stare”, GI’s got it. They were seeing something they didn’t’ want to see in their minds eye.

But with dementia its a blank 1000 mile stare. There’s nothing behind it. They’re not seeing, ….nuthin.

The stare is the first and most tell tale sign. Its the “Norman correlate” (channeling Star Trek the original) stare when the brain isn’t processing what its seeing and hearing.

When you have an elderly parent going through it the doctors will explain ALL this to you.

There’s a lot more, the slurred speech is a dead give away for example. So is the constant confusion, inability to remember events recent or past, so many things that aren’t just “part of age”. They’re not. If they are, tell it to William Shatner.

He has dementia. There never was a doubt for the past few years. Everyone EXCEPT LIBERALS saw and acknowledged it.

          EVERYONE.

If you honestly can’t see it, then you’re stupid. Period.

          Stupid as stupid gets.

          Everyone else sees it.

Not just republicans or “MAGA’s” as you called me.. And fine, if that means I stand against the havoc the democrats have waged on the world in just 4 short years, then I’ll gladly accept it. In fact maybe I should get a hat.

Because it means NOT accepting the “stupid” that stupid stupid people like you put out.

The outright lies, where you serve up a plate of cow manure and tell everyone its meatloaf.

Then you pour ketchup all over it, slice yourself off a big hunk and chow down in front of us, ….granules dripping from the corners of your mouth as you tell us all to serve ourselves up a slice.

No thank you. I don’t eat cow manure.

          But you help yourself.

          1. Chris,
MAGA means having common sense, critical thinking, logic and the capability to think for ones self. For Gigi and Democrats that is an anathema. She uses the word MAGA and all its variants as if it was an insult. It is not. It is a trait all humans should have. And one she clearly lacks.

            1. MAGA means being blinded to the reality that Trump is a trust fund baby who blew through billions he was either gifted or inherited from his Daddy, who has taken bankruptcy 6 times, who has failed at the following businesses, among others: Trump University ($25 million paid to those defrauded), Trump the Game, Trump Vodka, Trump Airlines, Trump Steaks, Go Trump, Trump Mortgages, Trump Ice, Trump Tower So Ho, Trump Tower Tampa, Trump Marina,Trump Tower Palm Beach, Trump Tower Charlotte, Trump Foundation (shut down after he stole donated money), Trump Tower Dubai, Trump Tower New Orleans, Baker Hotel, Plaza Hotel & Casino, Taj Mahal Atlantic City. Trump Winery, Trump Cologne.

Trump took the successful economy created by Obama from the ashes left by Dubya and turned it into the worst economy since the Great Depression. Thousands of people died unnecessarily because he lied about the seriousness of COVID and pushed for fake cures like hydroxychloroquine and ivermectin. He is a convicted criminal, found liable for sexual assault, for falsifying business records and loan applications, and was charged with stealing classified documents, trying to rig the vote in Georgia and starting an insurrection. He brags about getting away with sexually assaulting women, calls migrants “vermin, animals, murderers and criminals”, lies about migrants stealing pets and eating them, and lied about being able to immediately bring a precipitous drop in the cost of groceries and housing to get gullible people to vote for him.

Trump is a malignant narcissist and chronic, habitual liar. His first priority is to give massive tax breaks to the wealthiest, and to pardon people who battered and assaulted the Capitol Police who were there trying to protect members of Congress. Some of them lost fingers, and one lost an eye. There were several suicides as a result, and one of this fans was killed trying to force her way into the Speaker’s Lobby because she believed his lie about winning the election. He sat by for over 3 hours while his fans were tearing up the Capitol and beating up Police officers. He is a draft-dodger and called members of our military “suckers and losers”. So, explain to my how “common sense” would cause any rational person to vote for someone with this track record?

          2. Chris: EXCEPT that REAL alzheimer’s and dementia experts disagree with you. Speaking more slowly and stumbling over words or forgetting names does not mean someone is cognitively-impaired. These things happen with aging, and are normal. Biden has struggled with a stutter his entire life. Trump and Vance are slick speakers–AND pathological liars. Trump is a former television performer, but he is phony through and through. He LIED to get elected–lied about bringing an immediate drop in the cost of groceries and housing–and this is what got droves of people to vote for him–but it was all LIES! His fake “presidency” was purchased by billionaires who started the MAGA media to put him over–and, it worked. They lied about the economy being in shambles and convinced millions of people that the US is headed in the wrong direction. Shambles was the condition Trump left it in, and Biden fixed it. From “Upworthy”, writing about Biden’s accomplishments:

            1. Passed the $1.2 trillion bipartisan infrastructure package to increase investment in the national network of bridges and roads, airports, public transport and national broadband internet, as well as waterways and energy systems.

            2. Helped get more than 500 million life-saving COVID-19 vaccinations in the arms of Americans through the American Rescue Plan.

            3. Stopped a 30-year streak of federal inaction on gun violence by signing the Bipartisan Safer Communities Act that created enhanced background checks, closed the “boyfriend” loophole and provided funds for youth mental health.

            4. Made a $369 billion investment in climate change, the largest in American history, through the Inflation Reduction Act of 2022.

            5. Ended the longest war in American history by pulling the troops out of Afghanistan.

            6. Provided $10,000 to $20,000 in college debt relief to Americans with loans who make under $125,000 a year.

            7. Cut child poverty in half through the American Rescue Plan.

            8. Capped prescription drug prices at $2,000 per year for seniors on Medicare through the Inflation Reduction Act.

            9. Passed the COVID-19 relief deal that provided payments of up to $1,400 to many struggling U.S. citizens while supporting renters and increasing unemployment benefits.

            10. Achieved historically low unemployment rates after the pandemic caused them to skyrocket.

            11. Imposed a 15% minimum corporate tax on some of the largest corporations in the country, ensuring that they pay their fair share, as part of the historic Inflation Reduction Act.

            12. Recommitted America to the global fight against climate change by rejoining the Paris Agreement.

            13. Strengthened the NATO alliance in support of Ukraine after the Russian invasion by endorsing the inclusion of world military powers Sweden and Finland.

            14. Authorized the assassination of the Al Qaeda terrorist Ayman al-Zawahiri, who became head of the organization after the death of Osama bin Laden.

            15. Gave Medicare the power to negotiate prescription drug prices through the Inflation Reduction Act while also reducing government health spending.

            16. Held Vladimir Putin accountable for his invasion of Ukraine by imposing stiff economic sanctions.

            17. Boosted the budget of the Internal Revenue Service by nearly $80 billion to reduce tax evasion and increase revenue.

            18. Created more jobs in one year (6.6 million) than any other president in U.S. history.

            19. Reduced healthcare premiums under the Affordable Care Act by $800 a year as part of the American Rescue Plan.

            20. Signed the PACT Act to address service members’ exposure to burn pits and other toxins.

            21. Signed the CHIPS and Science Act to strengthen American manufacturing and innovation.

            22. Reauthorized the Violence Against Women Act through 2027.

            23. Halted all federal executions after the previous administration reinstated them after a 17-year freeze.

Could someone with dementia accomplish these things? What is the “havoc” Democrats have “waged on the world”? NATO is stronger than ever. Our economy is the envy of the world. You like to believe lies. The real havoc is starting even before Mump takes office–he has handed over power to Elon Musk, and nearly caused the government to shut down.

        2. What Qualifies me to opine on Biden’s competence – hours and hours of observing him publicly, as well as personal experiences with friends and relatives that were cognitively impaired.
What qualifies me to opine on your stupidity – way too much time spent reading your posts.

You are a gigantic symptom of what is wrong with the left.
You are thoroughly disconnected from realty and you will not admit your own mistakes – even to yourself.

    2. If one is stupid, is one too stupid to know that one is stupid?

Gigi suffered a devastating, debilitating loss; she has not yet assimilated the full scope of damage inflicted on her psyche.

Dazed and confused, she/it/her/they comes here as a repentant act of self-flagellation.

Go right ahead you long-suffering fool.

      1. Tom: you know what PROVES stupidity? Being a MAGA–believing the lies of MAGA media–they peddle swill to you because they know that people like you are not well-educated when it comes to finance or medical matters, that pandering to racism works, that you admire a former television host for “The Apprentice”–nothing but a “show” that was all fake and phony, that you don’t understand the complexities of economics and the causes of things like inflation, and that you will believe that migrants are stealing and eating pets, running amok and raping women and committing murders, and that they should be deported by the millions, even though it will tank our economy and drive up food prices. Believing, as in this case, that if Biden mis-speaks, or confuses the name of a world leader that this PROVES he has dementia–even though actual experts in the field of dementia and Alzheimer’s say that this is not true–I even gave you their names and credentials, but you prefer to believe un-named people from an article from the WSJ, owned by Rupert Murdoch.

MAGA media lies to you about Biden’s accomplishments, makes up fake words like “lawfare” to downplay Trump’s criminality, they attack judges and prosecutors who try to apply the law to Trump, and you fall for it. No facts can shake your belief–and MAGA media knows this. You fell for the Big Lie, and no number of audits, recounts or other proof will shake your faith. You believe that Trump is not a chronic, habitual liar, that he didn’t sexually assault Carroll, that he didn’t steal classified documents, or falsify business records or loan applications because MAGA media tells you so. It’s OK with you that he got fans like you to commit felonies in his name by battering Capitol Police Officers who were doing their job to protect members of Congress and that they signed false Electoral College documents. You believe that Trump will “immediately” deliver a “precipitous” drop in the price of groceries and the cost of housing because he said this, over and over again, complete with tables full of groceries–even though he had no plan on how to do this. Even he says this won’t happen and it doesn’t bother you that he lied to get votes. His tariffs will drive up the cost of everything and inflation will go up. The cost of food will go up because some of what we purchase is imported–like bananas–and because we rely on migrants to work in meatpacking plants and to plant, harvest and pack perishable fruits and vegetables.

You can’t see the truth here–Trump is demanding that the debt ceiling be eliminated so that he can pay back the wealthy donors and owners of MAGA media who helped him spread the lies, xenophobia, misogyny and racism that got him elected by giving them massive tax cuts. He has handed over the presidency to Elon Musk who wants to cut funding for pediatric cancer, breast and cervical cancer and sickle cell disease so he can line his already bulging pockets with even more money. He also wanted to cut disaster relief. His tax cuts will drive the debt ceiling into overdrive and the interest on this debt will be staggering–but MAGA media knows that you disciples don’t understand economics and don’t understand why this is a bad idea–that a huge amount of tax money we pay goes for the interest on the national debt–but those billlionaries bought themselves a president and he has to deliver. They also convince you that you MAGAs are smarter than educated people–so you outright reject anything that runs counter to the narrative.

        1. And this “pandering to racism” cry you stupid, stupid people keep railing at anyone who supports Trump, is as insane as your claims Biden’s not suffering from dementia. Just as insane and as stupid.

You really think “I” got up one day and said “yea I hate blacks or I hate latinos” suddenly so I’m gonna vote for Trump this time?

          You really believe that?

I don’t think you do. I think that’s what you tell yourself, to justify the rabid hatred and delusional rabidity of the crap you spray in here.

I decided to vote for Trump because I have been STARVING for 4 years under Biden.

          THATS WHY GENIUS.

That and I didn’t favor entering WORLD WAR III at the hands of a senile old Slim Pickens at the controls!

          GOT IT?

….racism…. man you are a self important lot, aren’t you.

          1. Chris Weber,
That is the thing. She thinks we all just listened to what Trump said and decided to vote for him. We did not. Even before Trump announced he was running for president again, the majority of the people here on the good professor’s blog already knew we were voting for whoever was the Republican candidate. I have stated it many times before. Why? The Biden admin was and is a disaster. We are hurting from it and we will continue to suffer under Biden’s disasters for likely years to come.

          2. Chris: Trump calls migrants “vermin, animals, rapists and murderers”–and, that is apparently OK with you. Jeff Sessions admitted that migrant children were stolen from their parents to serve as a deterrent to other migrants coming here, and several hundred of them still haven’t been reunited with their families. Trump has said that we should welcome white immigrants, say from Norway, and said that brown and black immigrants come from sh^thole countries. Chris: saying these things and treating these people like this IS racism, as is calling Kamala Harris “stupid”–she is far more accomplished and better educated than he is. And, Trump has employed undocumented migrants at MAL.

        2. List the lies of MAGA. You are immoral. Why would anyone with morals listen to what you say?

        3. Gigi, Musk should cut goverment funding to ALL forms of research – medical or otherwise.

You seem to beleive that if govenrment does not do something – it will not get done and that people will die.

Most research si not done by govenrment.
Regardless, ending those in government taking our money and deciding what THEY think should be done with it.
Cut govenrment spending – and WE get to decide for oursleves.
If you want research into Cervical cancer – pay for that research.
          No one is stopping you.

More importantly when YOU or other private actors pay for something – whether it is a hamburger or research into sickle cell anemia, you will expect results and if you do not get them you will move your money elsewhere. That almst never happens with government – as a result government money is wasted.

You use Musk as an example – NASA has had almost 80 years to explore space. There has been almost no progress since we landed on the moon.
NASA is not even capable of building a Saturn V rocket today – They do not know how to make the F1 Engines anymore. NASA’s program to come up with a replacement has been going on longer than SpaceX has been arround. NASA has spent far more monty on Artimus that everything SpaceX has spent and has nothing to show.
Yet Musk has repeatedly launched a rocket more powerful than the Saturn V and nearly fully reusable.

This is not because Musk and his people are geniuses – though they most certainly are.
It is not because NASA is made of idiots.

It is because the incentives in government do not drive people to succeed.

Yes, I want to end all government funding of research.
Because privately done research produces results for far less money.

Cutting Government spending to all the things you list will improve the very things you think will be harmed.

Government is bad at most everything.
Therefore we should only use government to do those things that can only be done by government.

Research is NOT one of thos.

    3. Any fair minded person with half a brain can tell the President is working with a half deck of cards. He is rapidly declining.

      1. E.M.
Gigi, Dennis, the slow and dumb one and the leftist Democrats are not “fair minded person with half a brain.”
        We can all see that.

    4. “These people want to punish these previous little kids to pay for tax cuts for the wealthiest corporations in human history.” No, we want to help young people by reducing the crushing debt that their government is burdened with. It is the young who will be required to pay off these liabilities.

    5. Gigi
      Honestly ?
You still trying to claim Biden is competent ?

With respect to your “experts” – Ronald Coase and Milton freidman died in their late 90’s and were near the top of their mental abilities at the time.
While others have suffered from severe cognitive impairment in their 50’s.

Age is a factor, it is not directly a cause.

All of us make gaffes on occaison. Biden has always been gaffe prone. His incompetence is more than his ordinary gaffes.

I am not looking to provide a specific diagnosis for Biden, but there is no doubt he is cognatively impaired and that he has had notable cognative impairment since 2017 or possibly earlier.

There is also no doubt that everyone who was close to him was aware of this and has been lying about it for nearly a decade.

You are correct that specific conditions can not be diagnosed without a thorough examination. But cognative impairment is not a specific diagnosis.
I do not know – nor care what Joe Biden’s specific form of cognitive impairment is – though I would guess alzheimers given the slow progression.

Regardless Biden’s cognative capacity could have been verified at any time by a simple MOCA test. You can not study for it. The only way you can “cheat” on it, is if the administor, improperly scores the results.
Trump has taken the MOCA regularly – while you can not as he claim “ace it”
you can prove you are not cognitively impaired.

If Biden has taken the MOCA – and I would bet that he has, the results have been kept secret.
Regardless, the only question regarding Joe Biden is how bad the MOCA would reveal his cognitive impairment is.

    6. The wsj article was based on interviews with dozens of staffers so there was no long distance judgement , just actual observations

And about that cancer funding – the house passed it months ago and Schumer sat on it

The deal Elon killed had $190 million in funding for a child cancer research program. Now it’s out.
¿ Readers added context they thought people might
want to know This was introduced as a stand alone bill that has passed the house and is currently waiting on senate.
      congress.gov/bill/118th-con…
      Do you find this helpful

  14. Just a few short months ago, our leftist friends tried to gaslight us that Trump looked “tired” on the campaign trail. He was showing mental “decline.” And it was a very big deal.
Now, they are trying to gaslight us that Biden’s obvious mental decline that most of us knew while Biden was campaigning from the basement, is not a “big” deal. We should all just say it is what it is, and move on. Dont ask questions like who was actually making decisions. Dont ask questions like who was actually running the country. Dont ask for who in the DNC, MSM knew and when and why did they not say anything. Dont ask for transparency or accountability for THE biggest scandal of the century.

    1. He DID looked tired. Plus he was also rambling and uttering incoherent sentences. We know Elon is calling the shots now.

        1. Chris Weber,
Yes. Yest they are. And then they try to tell us we should believe their lies. The most recent one, Elon Musk is in control of Trump. Think on that one for a moment.

      1. Like obama has been calling the shots for the last four years? His third term whispering in the ear on a “ghost” president?

      2. Explain that long press conference the other day. Rambling, incoherent sentences? Tired? SNORT

      3. Why would anyone believe anything you say? You come here to the good professor’s blog and spread lies all the time. You have been called out and proven to be a liar. You have no credibility. You have no respect from anyone but other liars. The only thing you deserve is to be called out, ridiculed and insulted as you are a insult on decent, thinking people.
I wish you a Merry Christmas!

  15. “Declining mental state,” “diminished state,” I’m not at all convinced that Biden’s lack of acuity is naturally occurring. The question remains why an Obama would choose a Joe Biden as running mate. And given all incredibly disconcerting opinions and positions on all matters foreign and domestic I found myself, in finality, quite literally possessed of very vivid visions of cocaine ’round the Obama Oval. Nothing has changed, nothing has since occurred to challenge previous perceptions of the Obama/ Biden White House. So, in my opinion, we here still skirt the truth. The problem with this is that, yes, it is cool to be cool, but the health. welfare, and safety of some 325 million plus, and likely billions worldwide, depend upon sound judgment and solid footing. Which we have not witnessed in American politics since, when?
