There is a major story developing on Capitol Hill after House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform Chairman James Comer, R-Ky, revealed that a long-withheld report from the Biden Administration directly contradicted the claims of climate change used to limit increased U.S. liquefied natural gas (LNG) exports. The suggestion is that this was an knowing effort to cap carbon admissions rather than carbon emissions.
The impact that new U.S. LNG exports have on the environment and the economy was reviewed by U.S. Energy Department scientists and completed by September 2023. It appears that neither President Biden nor Secretary Jennifer Granholm liked the science or the conclusions. Rather than “follow the science,” they buried the report while allegedly making claims directly refuted by their own experts.
The report was finished while Biden was still running for reelection and would have likely enraged environmentalists. The draft study, “Energy, Economic, and Environmental Assessment of U.S. LNG Exports,” found that, under all modeled scenarios, an increase in U.S. LNG exports and natural gas production would not change global or U.S. greenhouse gas emissions. It further found that it would not increase energy prices for consumers.
Biden and Granholm reportedly buried the report and then announced a pause on all new U.S. LNG export terminals in January 2024, citing the danger to environmental and economic impacts.
Comer’s office told Fox News Digital that DOE repeatedly declined to provide this study to the House Oversight Committee or comply with other requests for information.
What is most concerning is that our LNG exports help reduce the dependence on Russia and would have decreased the revenues to that country to support its war in Ukraine. However, critics charge that Biden ignored the national security and economic benefits. Supporters note that we still exported a massive amount of LNG.
When the U.S. ramped up exports to Europe, progressive Democrats like Sen. Jeff Merkley, D-Ore., went ballistic. This appears to have worked in shelving the study while slowing demands for further increases.
The Biden Administration later released data in December 2024 suggesting that a rise in exports could cause consumer prices to rise by as much as 30%.
There are obviously two sides to this debate. The problem is that it seems that only one side was allowed to be publicly presented by the delay in the release of the study.

Ya, it’s some time warp happening, 100 years ago. The USA solved the HFC problem. There is no “hole” in the ozone.
Actually there is a hole in the Ozone layer and there has been for some time – it waxes and wanes with solar activity, and it is in the bottom of the southern hemisphere about as far is you can get from the sources of HFC’s.
Why ? Because the earth inclination towards the sun causes cosmic rays to have the greatest impact near the south pole.
Think about it for a second, if a Cosmic ray travels from the Sun to earth – if it is at the equator it will spend the least amount of time in the atmosphere – particulery the upper atmoshere before striking the earth – so it has the least opportunity to disrupt anything in the atmosphere – particularly the upper atmosphere. Conversely near the poles a particle could pass through the atmosphere on the side facing the sun, and pass out the side away from the sun without ever hiting the earth. The distance traveled through the atmospher could be 5 times what it is at the equator. Further those particles furthest toward the poles will ONLY pass through the upper atmosphere the ozone layer.
So the particle will spend as much as 3 times as long in the atmosphere and ALL of that in the upper atmosphere.
And the inclination of the earth means the problem is worse near the south pole than the north pole.
So guess where the hole in the Ozone layer is ?
Again – the hole in the ozone layer grows and shrinks with the cosmic ray activity of the sun.
It has little or nothing to do with HFC’s.
This is typical of modern scientists – who never heard of Occams razor and try to force the behavior of nature to fit their politics.

The solar cycle is a periodic change in activity that occurs with an 11 year periodicity. The ozone hole waxes and wanes on an annual cycle with worsening in the Southern winter and spring.

The ozone depletion is catalyzed by UV radiation from the Sun. The UV radiation increases the rate of reaction between ozone and chlorofluorocarbons (CFC). While the Sun does produce a very few cosmic rays, they are of very low energy and do not penetrate Earth’s atmosphere. The vast majority of cosmic rays, particularly high energy rays, come from outside the galaxy. In any event, cosmic rays have nothing to do with ozone depletion.

The inclination of the Earth is equal for both hemispheres. The amount of radiation from the sun is the same in both hemispheres in their respective seasons.
The ozone hole is at a maximum in the Southern winter when the South pole is tilted AWAY from the sun. If cosmic rays from the sun cause ozone depletion then the maximum should be in the Southern summer when the South pole faces the sun.
UV induced photolysis of CFC’s occurs throughout the atmosphere at a steady rate, but the ozone hole develops in the Southern hemisphere in the winter when the South pole is in complete darkness.
The reason the ozone hole is confined to the Southern hemisphere is because of the unique weather conditions in the winter. The ozone hole is always larger when temperatures reach the lowest levels.
The polar vortices that form over the northern and southern poles are different because the northern vortex forms over water that is surrounded by land, whereas in the southern hemisphere the situation the opposite; the vortex forms over land surrounded by water. Because of this, Antarctica “is meteorologically isolated from air at higher latitudes during winter.
This physical condition forms an isolated air mass swirling over Antarctica called the south polar vortex. In the air of the polar vortex, the temperatures drop to very low levels in the stratosphere. At these temperatures, chemicals present in the stratosphere, including CFC’s, freeze out and form polar stratospheric clouds (PSCs). It is the chemical reactions that occur in these polar stratospheric clouds that increases the decomposition of CFC’s and depletion of ozone.

The first sentence of this paragraph clearly states that increased LNG exports are associated with higher global GHG emissions.
The second sentence clearly states that “the degree to which GHG emissions increase depend on the level of increase in U.S. LNG exports”

This is FALSE. Turley’s claim is a deliberate misstatement of the report.
The last sentence of this paragraph is the basis for Turley’s FALSE claim that “under all modeled scenarios, an increase in U.S. LNG exports and natural gas production would not change global or U.S. greenhouse gas emissions”.
The last sentence clearly states that an analysis of increasing LNG exports was not possible for one of the models, because in that model there was no increase in DEMAND for LNG exports. Therefore, in the absence of demand there could be no increase in GHG as a consequence.
This last sentence ends with these words, “did not exceed existing and FID levels”.
Turley is claiming that this statement “did not exceed existing and FID levels” refers to GHG emission levels.
IT DOES NOT !!!!!
It refers to the fact that DEMAND did not exceed existing levels in that particular model.
Turley also thinks that the reference to FID levels has something to do with emission levels. The abbreviation FID stands for “Final Investment Decisions”.
So Turley’s entire case rests on these 7 words which simply refer to the fact that in one model which predicted no increase in demand for LNG it was not possible to make a conclusion about GHG emissions.
Turley also contradicts himself.
In the third paragraph of his piece he states that the study says “It further found that it would not increase energy prices for consumers.”
In the second to last sentence of his piece Turley states that the study shows “that a rise in exports could cause consumer prices to rise by as much as 30%”

We are discussing the supression of a scientific study – that is far more difficult when Govenrment is not funding the studies.

And we see that today with govenrment control of science.

Science builds on the work of its predecessors, often by taking what was learned, rejecting it and heading in a tangential direction that accepts some parts of past breakthroughs and rejects others.

The climate of the earth is in constant change – change is litterally the constant of the universe.
The premise of CAGW is that more CO2 is bad. Anything that is actually bad also makes us poorer.
Warmists make predictions regarding CO2. Like EVERYTHING changes have positive and negative impacts.
Rising sea levels if real mean relocating human structures along coasts.
But warming also means more arrable land to produce even more food, and more CO2 means greater food production per acre.
Again all change has good and bad effects. Economics is the science of measuring the net change in human standard of living as a consequence of change.
Economics is a science. It is incredibly similar to Climate science in that it is based on relatively simple axioms that then repeat Billions possibly trillions of times. to produce incredibly complex results. It is similar in that it is heavily model based.
There is absolutely no evidence – and there can not be that earth’s climate is effected in any way by humans – and there can not be. Humans are too inconsequential. Human CO2 is too inconsequential. The entirety of CAGW rests on mathemtaical models that have never validated against reality. That are more than 2.5 std dev off in correlation to reality.
Regardless if economic models are not science – then neither is Global Warming.

Trump has been in office for 68 days, RFK jr less than 30. It is highly unlikely that there are thousands of studies – or even one that were awaiting publication on Vaccine effacacy.
Further there have been lots of papers published regarding Vaccines over the past 4 years – most of them are actually hostile to the pseudo science of the left.
As we get further from Covid we are better able to establish the actual effects of policies.
The adverse effects of the Covid vaccine have proved worse than anticipated.

One recent vaccine study I am familiar with – not even a covid study is showing that for vaccines that are given regularly – like Covid or the flu, that efficacy declines with each iteration and that within a few cycles the effect is NEGATIVE, that repeated vaccinations negatively impact your immune system.
It is probable that is true beyond cyclical vaccines like the flu – ie. that it is not just that the flu vaccine becomes less effective against the flu – even negatively effective with repeated vaccinations. But that repeated vaccinations negatively impact your entire immune system.
That does not mean people should not be vaccinated. But it does mean that we should limit the number of vaccinations a person should get.
It is kind of like xrays – they are a useful diagnostic tool, but they increase your risk of cancer.
