Washington State University Instructor Arrested for Allegedly Assaulting Trump Supporter

We have been following the rise of political violence on the left, particularly on our campuses. Some of this violence has been committed by faculty and administrators, as was recently the case at the University of Wisconsin. A video shows Washington State University instructor and PhD student Patrick Mahoney allegedly assaulting engineering student Jay Sani for wearing a Trump-related hat.

Sani was shown wearing a “Take America Back” hat and police say that Mahoney took him down and then “said ‘F**k you or f**k off’ to Sani before walking away.” The police report identifies a second suspect as Gerald Hoffin in the attack.

The story appeared on KTTH and the incident was captured on video surveillance.

When the officer interviewed Mahoney later, the instructor appeared unapologetic for an attack on the “ol’ boy”:

“I asked Mahoney what happened tonight. Mahoney said that he saw ‘ol’ boy’ walking around. Mahoney did not name Sani by name but said ‘I’ve seen this guy, f**king, on campus before. I know he’s like f**king Right Wing dude. He’s got a f**king, like, Make America Great Again
hat.”

The Daily Evergreen reports that Mahoney, a WSU instructor and a PhD student in the School of Politics, Philosophy, and Public Affairs, has been suspended.

These attacks are being fueled by rage rhetoric on the left, including Democratic leaders insisting that democracy is about to come to an end and encouraging their followers to fight back. Former Republican Rep. Adam Kinzinger just called on people to get ready to “take to the streets” because the political system is failing them. (This is the same Adam Kinzinger who previously denounced Trump and others for reckless rhetoric: “Look violent rhetoric is wrong, and has no place. But MAGA pretending they didn’t light this fire is gaslighting to the 100th power.”).

What this video shows is the license afforded by the rage, allowing people to do and say things that they would not ordinarily say or do. The justification from this instructor was that Sani had the audacity to walk around openly supporting President Trump on campus. He believed that he had leave to assault him for that political expression.

What is funny, if it were not so tragic, is that these individuals are attacking those with opposing political views in the name of “saving democracy.” According to a new survey from DailyMail.com/J.L., Trump won the popular vote and is currently at a record 56 percent in popularity.

One does not have to agree with those people or the poll to recognize that he was elected by over 70 million voters in the democratic process. Yet, this Washington State instructor believes that he has a license to attack anyone who is openly supporting the President.

One would expect that any teaching opportunities for Mahoney are quite limited, but many faculty members have espoused violent sentiments toward Republicans or conservatives. Some have been promoted or lionized for their positions.

  2. Jonathan: One poll does not support your claim. In fact, here are other polls that show DJT is underwater with voters:

    -CNBC: -7 net approval
    -Clarity Campaign Labs: -3
    -YouGov. Economist: -10
    – Atlas/Intel: -6
    -Civiqs; -7
    -Gallop: -9

DJT’s net approval rating is -5.2. That’s the worst of any other president–aside from DJT 1.0 when he as at -9.8 net approval on day 88 of his first term. Silver Bulletin, another pollster, has DJT’s net approval at 50.9% disapproval and only 45.5% approval. Out of 10 polls cited by Silver Bulletin only 3 conservative leaning polls, like the Daily Mail poll, had DJT in the plus column. On immigration, DJT has also lost ground. And this was supposed to be his strong suit. A new Quinnipiac poll shows DJT’s net approval is at -5%. On his illegal deportation of immigrants, like Abrego Garcia, DJT is at -10%.

But there are other indicators that Americans are turning against the DJT regime. AOC and Bernie Sanders have been crossing the country with their “Fighting Oligarchy” tour. Hundreds of thousands have shown up–even in deeply red states. Two days ago 7,500 people filled the University of Montana’s Adams Center in support of the fight against the DJT oligarchy. The non-violent resistance to the DJT regime is growing and it’s contagious. Something you won’t find in a single poll!

    1. Ginning-up protestors and malcontents is easy with the left, as they don’t have to claim their extra income on their taxes. The one’s that haven’t been paid to protest, are also dealing with an I.Q. equivalent of a dish-sponge.

    2. While you are correct that there are polls that show Trump underwater.

There are complexities – first – Trump’s overall approval – those who are neutral, those who are mildly supportive and those who are strongly supportive, make up the majority in nearly all polls.

But the “approval” rating is usually calculated as those who strongly approve minus those who strongly disapprove.

This leads to situations where Trump can have 53% total approval,
with a net approval of -4%.

As to your claim that Trump’s approval is the worst of any president – that is just garbage.
For most of his Term Biden was never into the 40’s and on occasion dipped into the high 20’s.

Biden is the worst president in US history displacing James Buchannon.

I would suggest checking out CNN’s regular poll analyst who says clearly, if we held the 2024 election all over abgain today – the results would be the same or maybe a tiny bit worse for democrats. There are 1pt more Harris voters who would not vote for Harris today than there are Trump voters who would not vote for Trump.

    3. Dennis – you are free to beleive there is some groundswell of support for democrats, or mounting opposition to Trump and his policies.

But that is an alternate reality.

The AOC/Sanders tour has NOT been near as popular as you claim. That said – Sanders and AOC ARE the best democrats can do.

No opposition to Trump is not growing.

It is democrats numbers that are ACTUALLY declining.

The odds of Democrats retaking the Senate are less than zero.

It is very rare for the party in power to hold the house in midterms – and midterms are still a long way away. But absent a serious shift in support for democrats – Republicans can be optomistic about holding the house. Democrats are THAT unpopular.

  4. Violence is violence. No matter why, an assault needs to be punished. Maybe if you keep arresting and punishing these people the rest will learn.

  5. Dear Mr. Turley, I can’t help but think that if the shoe was on the other foot, where Trump supporters were attacking the liberals, we would never hear the end of their screaming out for “justice”. I am only aware of one incident where “Trump supporters” attacked the actor Jussie Smollett. That turned out to be a set-up and false. The Chicago Police Dept. stated they had spend 100’s of man hours on this and it turned out to be not true. Whenever I run into a person wearing a hat supporting President Trump, I stop and thank them for being very brave as they are taking their life into their hands. Each time the person responds: “Well, I do have the right to be heard!” The Constitution is still in force…I hope!!

    1. #. It’s the big switcheroo. The marginalized lefties say they’ve been attacked forever. Gays have been attacked and beaten up, blacks same, women same, but for some reason nit Jewish people. Probably because they were successful anyway.

Now they’re beating up the beaters they say and have complete license to do so. Since elite colleges were closed to some they’ve taken them over and if they don’t take it to the streets for the brawlers they’ll lose democracy and once again become invisible and marginalized.

That’s what they think and are trying to start a brawl. They figured they didn’t have enough people so the borders were opened with surge.

Most likely they were marginalized because of annoying behaviors, disgusting behaviors, criminal behaviors.

The answer remains no, criminals and crime are a no-go. No, the left’s half truths won’t do. Btw, they dislike being called–> the left.

      1. #. ^^ the origin is what is left out–> Jewish people. Find the enemy of the Jewish people internally and externally. The others are pawns.

    2. I know man, Jan 6 never happened. There were not over a thousand people surrounding the Capitol to “convince” the VP and congress to not accept the votes of millions of citizens. Never happened. Nope, trump supporters are the cream of the crop, all others can die.

      1. #. ^^ example of the left’s half truth. There’s no solution, bud, except divvy up States. There’s no resolution. It’s a descent into the outer realm. Do the best you can cause there isn’t anything good. Greed is good, gluttony is good, adultery is good, no God is good, no laws are good…try those.

      2. Cool story – now do the democrat’s “Summer Of Love”, where cities burned, police cars burned and got turned upside down, massive-scale property destruction, wide-spread looting, defacing of entire downtown areas, beatings, murders, to the tune of over a $Billion in damages.

  6. Very unusual for Washington State University, where — incidentally —- I was a faculty member for several decades.

  7. Luigi uncorked the bottle and the Left is drinking the wine. There is now an assassination culture on the left. 55% are down with Trump being murdered and 48% are same as to Musk. This is not normal. There is a spiritual component to what is going on with the American left. They reject the living God and become vulnerable to the influence of dark spiritual forces.

    https://www.yahoo.com/news/bombshell-study-reveals-assassination-culture-080006498.html

    1. Old Man form Kansas- I do hope that the democrats realize that if this rage and attacks result in a political assassination then there would be no doubt in my mind that there would be an open season on democrats, sort of like “The Most Dangerous Game” except it would be no game. They are playing with fire. When that step jumps out of the box it is almost impossible to re-contain it. That is my greatest concern. The high profile democrats that preach this hate and attacks seem oblivious to the fact that they would likely be the first targets of a counter strike.

As a pulmonologist, how do you feel about the letter written by US Attorney Edward Martin to the editor of the journal Chest.
        Here is an excerpt:

“It has been brought to my attention that more and more journals and publications like CHEST Journal are conceding that they are partisans in various scientific debates – that is that they have a position for which they are advocating either due to advertisement (under postal code) or sponsorship (under relevant fraud regulations). The public has certain expectations and you have certain responsibilities.

Would you please answer these questions: ~

How do you assess your responsibilities to protect the public from misinformation?

        – How do you clearly articulate to the public when you have certain viewpoints that are influenced by your ongoing relations with supporters, funders, advertisers, and others?

~ Do you accept articles or essays from competing viewpoints?

        – How do you assess the role played by government officials and funding organizations like the National Institutes of Health in the development of submitted articles?

        – How do you handle allegations that authors of works in your journals may have misled their readers?

I am also interested to know if publishers, journals, and organizations with which you work are adjusting their method of acceptance of competing viewpoint. Are there new norms being developed and offered?

        GEB:

Do you agree that Chest is providing misinformation to the public?

Do you agree that the journal has viewpoints influenced by advertisers?

Do you agree that Chest does not accept papers from competing viewpoints (whatever that means)?

US Attorney Martin seems to think that Chest does not publish enough papers with “competing viewpoints”

Perhaps he is concerned that there are not enough papers extolling the virtues of COPD.

Maybe he thinks Chest is suppressing papers that identify the advantages of cystic fibrosis.

Is it possible Chest is failing to report the well known advantages of pulmonary hypertension?

Perhaps Chest has failed to publish papers citing pulmonary fibrosis as a healthy condition.

        1. Anonymous-3:41 pm- Interesting letter and questions. I have been retired for 8 years and have read no CHEST journals since. So I can only answer generally. You decide on information by where the studies take you. I have no position but the scientific studies that I look at. Chest is only one source. I always got the majority of my opinions and knowledge from actual meetings that I attended on a yearly basis usually 2 meeting per year. Journals can get very picky in what they publish and therefore you only see what they publish. Meetings are better because you can better discern who is telling the truth and better discussion about the pro’s and con’s of treatment.
Your questions are misleading when you state “are we getting to discuss the advantages of cystic fibrosis, pulmonary hypertension, pulmonary fibrosis” . Those are all disease states that have a good chance of killing you early in life. That is not what is discussed. What is discussed are plans of treatment, rehab, prevention, succesful drugs, failed drugs and failed treatments, alternate methods of ventilation and things like that. You look at the center producing the paper because certain centers have “a point of view or certain treatments” that they will adhere to, sometimes quite stubbornly. Are the studies laid out in a sensible fashion so the the questions being asked is actually sneered. What do they not tell you? What are the conflicts of interest.
Those are the things you have to discern and try to understand and sometimes you just have to trust they have done it right (but knowing some will get it wrong)
It’s tough to always be comfortable.
You Have to enter each article with an OPEN mind and try not to let your own prejudices and experience blind you to something new.
ARRD was usually the better journal. Meetings and panels were the best way to get facts. Sometimes you miss something important but hope it’s nothing severe enough to kill your patient.

    2. #. It’s habit. Needn’t be spiritual but can be. It’s just liking what has become habitual behaviors. Murder is a habit.

    3. >”There is a spiritual component to what is going on with the American left. They reject the living God and become vulnerable to the influence of dark spiritual forces.”

Amen. There’s an intellectual component to our spiritual demise as well.

*for example, trust and faith in the U.S. dollar .. .

      1. #. Yes, well it’s 2025 , sachs. He wants AID to develop poverty nations. Trump wants to provide a job not aid. It’s not a US credit card to shop in China and if this liar doesn’t know it he missed an econ course. IT’S 1.50 LABOR in China, sachs, and Nike charges Americans 1000 x more than it cost to make. It vanguard and Blackrock trump is talking to. NIKE responded with no factories in US.

Americans are buying vanilla beans from barefoot people sitting in the dirt bundling them, sachs. Shrimp from nations growing them in sewage and its all laden with lead, salmonella, lysteria, rocks and god knows what else.

Sachs works where? Columbia University. Guy is BS.

    4. #. Yes, of course. How many times must it be said, the US is a third world now. Political opposition is kill the opponent. It’s not new in the world but very new in the US. My God, man, a man was just shot in the head, another stabbed a person to death over a seat and is now getting millions in donations and purchasing real estate.

Hoping God lifts us out. Can you imagine what it was like when Americans arrived at the concentration camps after ww2? Prayers answered? OMFK , God works in mysterious ways.

      The left is ill primarily.

  8. Some here say that the take to the streets mantra is something new. It’s not. One Democratic politician openly stated that the riots were justified, should continue and even helped provide money to bail out the rioters. Who was this Democratic politician you ask? Why it was none other than esteemed Kamala Harris in her own words. Kamala Harris was not just exercising her free speech rights but she was calling for the continuance of theft, arson and even murder which all occurred during the Floyd riots. Don’t tell me about free speech when the leader of the Democratic Party supports violence in the streets and to put insult to injury she offers up a get out of jail free card to the thieves and arsonist who couldn’t care less if people were burned to death in the fires and those who without mercy pulled the trigger that ended another persons life. Free speech ends at the point of another mans nose.

    1. Actually no. Turley changed the subject which is actually the whole point of my comment if you actually read it. He equated a call by a disfavored politician to exercise First Amendment rights as somehow related to a horrible act of violence on Wazzu’s campus.

  9. So, based on recent events it would have been perfectly OK for Mr. Sani to have plunged a knife into Mahoney’s chest for touching him, right?

  10. This is unlikely to occur in Idaho where a student can carry a concealed weapon on campus if they have an enhanced concealed carry permit (which is not difficult to get). The only exception is in dormitories and public entertainment buildings holding more than 1,000 people.

    1. It has been less than 24 hours since a mass shooting on a college campus (in a state where it is easy to get a concealed carry), and yet you still make this comment. Bravo. I appreciate the commitment to the bit, reality notwithstanding.

      1. …meanwhile, in cities across the country where handguns are effectively banned, thousands are murdered every year and we hear crickets from the left. Moreover, there are more cell phone induced deaths among students in one year than the combined deaths in mass shootings at schools since Columbine.

      2. Unfortunately for the victims, the “Conceal-Carry” doesn’t apply on that campus ……. making your comment pointless.

    2. #. Yes , the young man who recently stabbed another young man over a seat carried a concealed carry knife.

  11. Turley writes: “Former Republican Rep. Adam Kinzinger just called on people to get ready to “take to the streets” because the political system is failing them. (This is the same Adam Kinzinger who previously denounced Trump and others for reckless rhetoric: “Look violent rhetoric is wrong, and has no place. But MAGA pretending they didn’t light this fire is gaslighting to the 100th power.”)”

Self-espoused free speech defender Professor Turley apparently cannot decipher between speech and incitement. Kinzinger’s recent comment is clearly advocating for speech. If you look at the actual quote, he references a “strike” for example. Nonviolent protest should be supported by the “free speech community.” Instead, Professor Turley tries to paint Kinzinger as a hypocrite. Violent rhetoric – speech which incites violence or imminent lawless action – is not protected, but not all protests involve such incitement.

Turley brings up Kinzinger in a wholly unrelated incident with a grad student who assaulted another student as if that was remotely similar to Kinzinger’s call for nonviolent protest.

    What a bunch of malarkey.

The irony is that such non sequiturs on Res Ipsa Loquitur are exactly the types of pieces which unnecessarily fuel the Age of Rage. Call out an idiotic student’s outburst. But don’t rope in a moderate politician’s very tempered advocacy as if they are somehow related.

    1. Anonymous changes the subject to free speech instead of being concerned with the physical violence. The hat on the mans head is also a form of free speech but no defense of this mans free speech rights is forthcoming from the mouth of the renowned Anonymous. There are many men who sit in prison because of a punch that took another mans life. Here we have no concern from Anonymous that such an outcome could have occurred due to this assault. Despicable is not a strong enough expression.

      1. Actually no. Turley changed the subject which is actually the whole point of my comment if you actually read it. He equated a call by a disfavored politician to exercise First Amendment rights as somehow related to a horrible act of violence on Wazzu’s campus

    2. #. People are sick to death of protests. Ordinary people are so appalled and terrorized by what are truly ill people they rarely venture out. What an incredibly ill culture of profound annoyance to shootings. All media is involved from shrieking nincompoops on Glenn Beck to right out lies of Laurence O’Donnell to commercials and ads about constipation and tissue paper….

What is this and who are these people…

    3. “Kinzinger’s recent comment is clearly advocating for speech.”

      Nobody is that naive.

He’s a fool, but he’s not stupid. He knows damn well the type of barbarian hordes he’s calling to take to the streets.

      1. # Ms 13 was let in 4 a reason?

If you’re not poor, crippled, ill or elderly leave. Why would anyone be here..

  12. It appears that Rep. Adam Kinzinger’s “take it to the streets” is the new mantra for Democrats in the upcoming mid-terms. Lovely. Political violence against President Trump and Elon Musk is not only acceptable but encouraged now by the DNC. Great platform to win over voters Jonathan.

    1. Can you point to anything Kinzinger said that constitutes advocacy for “political violence”?

      1. Why are you referening Kinzinger? to whom are you addressing your question? There is nothing above your comment indicating Kinzinger was mentioned, In fact there is nothing above your comment. If you think you see a comment above yours, you likely had a bad meal of sealion last night.

        1. What are you talking about? Skyraider explicitly references “Rep. Adam Kinzinger.” He obviously didn’t click on the hyperlink to see what Kinzinger actually said.

This is EXACTLY the issue with Turley’s horrible piece. He implies that Kinzinger is advocating for political violence, when he did nothing of the sort.

            1. Adam Kinzinger means to disrupt the Midterm Elections with his ‘Take it to the Street” slogan.
Kinzinger, Alexander Vindman, and Liz Cheney are Dick Cheney’s Depp State Toy Boys looking to get back into the D.C. game.

Kinzinger’s ‘Take it to the Street” mantra is actually a rip from Ronald Reagan’s Farewell Speech (Circa January 11, 1989)
“… Ours was the first revolution in the history of mankind that truly reversed the course of government, and with three little words: “We the People.” “We the People” tell the government what to do; it doesn’t tell us. “We the People” are the driver; the government is the car. And we decide where it should go, and by what route, and how fast. Almost all the world’s constitutions are documents in which governments tell the people what their privileges are. Our Constitution is a document in which “We the People” tell the government what it is allowed to do. “We the People” are free. This belief has been the underlying basis for everything I’ve tried to do these past 8 years. …”

      2. Can you point to anything Kinzinger said that constitutes advocacy for “political sanity”?

      1. Yes, this Easter, let’s pray the Trump administration stops persecuting and disappearing people, much like the Romans did with the Christians. As with the Great Persecution, our country is rescinding the legal rights of minorities. And we are exiling them, just like the Romans did with Hippolytus of Rome and Pope Pontian.

As a good Christian, one hopes for justice for all subjects of the American Empire.

        1. And let’s also hope illegal aliens stop raping and murdering American girls and brutally beating them to death, and self-deport instead. And let’s pray that our immigration laws will be rigorously enforced so that criminal thugs can’t come to or stay in America, victimize innocent people, and so that child sec trafficking and slavery will be reduced, and so that the tide of fentanyl will be stemmed so that we no longer have 100,000 overdose deaths each year.

I forget, did the persecuted Christians in Ancient Rome do all those things, or was that just a mentally lazy and sloppy comparison so typical of liberals’ inability to resonate logically, Mr Anonymous troll?

          1. Who said anything about illegal aliens? Our Dear Leader has stated his desire to detain and send to concentration camps US citizens as well. There have already been plenty of reports of ICE detentions of US citizens.

And to your question: Actually yes, by the second century AD, there was plenty of violence perpetrated against Jews by early Christians, who blamed them for the crucifixion.

Early Christians adopted the violent image of militant Davidic messianism to depict Jesus as a righteous military opponent of Roman rule. While many regard the early Christian community as pacifistic, their use of the image of a warrior messiah suggests that they idealized great bloodshed and the annihilation of the Romans.

And of course, by the time Rome adopted Christianity, Christians absolutely did all of those things to Jews and pagans.

            1. . . . stated his desire to detain and send to concentration camps US citizens as well.

[Cue Twilight Zone music] — oooooooooooooooooookay.

The rest of your delusional comment – same thing.

10ffgrid is correct: you need psychiatric intervention.

        2. Suffering from delusions is best treated by seeking out medical professionals, not by rambling nonsense in political comment sections.

  13. If we think this is going to get any better by discussing it in a blog, we need rethink that.

My concern, at this point, is our AG. When is Ms. Bonding going to produce heavy-hitter criminals in orange jumpsuits on their way to Leavenworth?

I am losing faith in her while we witnes such egregious disregard for the law.

She is either the nation’s chief law officer or she is just a pretty figure in front of a camera.

    1. whimsicalmama-I understand your frustration but the wheels of justice move slowly especially if you want to get it right. We don’t want show trials like New York puts on but the real thing based on sound law, comprehensive investigation, and convictions because of real wrongdoing. A change of venue out of D.C. or NYC would be of use also. For everyone’s protection we should want justice to be sure and right for our side or the other. When you skip proper steps it tends to come back and bite you in the ass. That’s true in law and most other pursuits in life.
Frankly there was so much going on in the Biden administration that you would probably need to double the number of attorneys to get all the crimes pursued and then you need more attorneys to fight off the barrage of lawsuits as the Dems try to sidetrack our steamroller and protect their governmental funding and pig troughs.

      1. My husband knows that, also, since he comes from a family of lawyers and law techs, but, perhaps, they should not push all the exposed crimes and no action. It makes legal sense but it is causing frustration for his base – who are in their 4 years+ of frustration in seeing the crime and everyone still free.

As a NY resident, I’ve been frustrated since cuomo f*cKed up covid and now he’s on track to be mayor of NYC.

        1. If you are concerned about Cuomo in NY, keep pushing people to remember Cuomo killed grandma and grandpa in the nursing homes. HE, Cuomo, required nursing homes to accept COVID-19 patients discharged from hospitals, even when infected with COVID-19. We still do not know the actual number of nursing home deaths in NY. Cuomo resigned because of mismanagement and efforts to conceal the extent of the crisis alongside allegations of sexual harassment.

Carry a sign saying: Stop Cuomo from killing grandma and grandpa again.

  14. I ask simply this:

How many times have we heard about conservative/Republican students/or conservative FACULTY members having

    (1) Torn down displays and flipped over tables of pro-Hamas, pro-communist, pro-Antifa, pro-socialist, pro-Palestinian, pro-abortion, pro-CUAD materials?
    (2) ripped off personal clothing, hats, etc. of ^^students supporting ^^^ these “causes?”
    (3) set on fire and vandalized buildings?
    (4) blocked pro-Hamas, pro-communist, pro-Antifa, pro-socialist, pro-Palestinian, pro-abortion, pro-CUAD students and/or prevented them from accessing any area of campus?
    (5) blockaded and occupied buildings on campus to the exclusion of others?
    (6) swung a machete?
    (7) made pro-Hamas, pro-communist, pro-Antifa, pro-socialist, pro-Palestinian, pro-abortion, pro-CUAD students stand up in class to self-identify while the “right-wing” professor and students ridiculed them?
    (8) used their “free-speech” to shout at, curse, use foul language, spit at, or otherwise verbally abuse pro-Hamas, pro-communist, pro-Antifa, pro-socialist, pro-Palestinian, pro-abortion, pro-CUAD students?
    (9) Utilize school newspapers or flyers to shame, ostracize, dishonor, scorn or humiliate pro-Hamas, pro-communist, pro-Antifa, pro-socialist, pro-Palestinian, pro-abortion, pro-CUAD students?

    1. You are correct in the same way that most of the world knew that WWII Nazis were evil. That is, everyone but the Nazis, who viewed themselves self-righteously correct in their extermination of those that they felt weren’t worthy of life.

Do you see the similarity here? And just how did we stop the 3rd Reich? I don’t think we discussed them into surrender. And while we did contain their official movement, we see that their pernicious ideology goes deep and we still contend with it, much like we are now dealing with rising anti-semitism and other progressive inanities.

Education and social discouragement (some will scream discrimination – but these sort of folks do need segregated from society) are needed to descredit their messages.

By allowing federal funds to go to ANY organization flaunting laws we only pacively encourage more of this.

  15. I sense that this rage is isolated to college campuses, university towns, and the most politically correct districts of California and New York. Am I too optimistic about the America reality?

    1. The only reason you “sense” that is because Turley continues to hammer this topic ad nauseum in response to demands from his overlords at Fox and NY Post.

Turley brings the old aphorism of “beating a dead horse” to heretofore unimaginable heights.

    2. “I sense that this rage is isolated to . . .”

And to Tesla dealerships and drivers, anywhere something can be shoplifted, and anywhere there’s a statue, painting, or sporting event. Anywhere there’s something to burn and vandalize. Anything and anyone living within the boundaries of the “summer of love.” Oh, and anywhere a police officer is doing his job.

    3. I live in a modest city in Northern NY and in the 60s while I attended high school here it was a core of conservative values. Heck, my Presbyterian church was also the family church of the Dulles brothers.

When I returned in 1988 after leaving for college, a military base had been built, and with it came droves of government bureaucrats and such. Now we see prog resistance rallies almost daily and in our near by town of Sackets Harbor there was a major protest about ICE arresting illegals and a protest at Homan’s family home near bye.

These crazies are like cockroaches, bedbugs and termites. There is only one way to deal with infestations that endanger our civilization.

  16. Professor Turley writes, “What this video shows is the license afforded by the rage, allowing people to do and say things that they would not ordinarily say or do.”

Until guys like Patrick Mahoney have power. Then violence would be normalized with remarkable alacrity. Mahoney, as a PhD candidate, is too old to blame it on youthful indiscretion. There is the real risk he has a cluster B personal disorder and needs a criminal record to better protect society.

    1. Diogenes-This is not a medical diagnosis but Mr Mahoney PhD candidate probably has more of a Cluster F__K personality disorder. Passing electrical current from ear to ear would not likely help him except to make his memory suspect for about 48-72 hrs.

      1. GEB, I’m sure you’re right. I’m just trying to make sure he doesn’t do the same to us.

  17. “We have been following the rise of political violence on the left”

I noticed that. And you apparently haven’t noticed all the violence dispersed across the world by those on the right. Why not JT?

White supremest intimidating in front of polling places?
the tump administration just jailed a U.S. Citizen thinking he was an illegal. Their response? Tough sh-t. Deal with it, more to come.
The Jan 6 group dished out violence to a lot of people. trump pardoned all those good people.
I guess JT thinks trumps free speech means he gets to yell for CBS to lose its license? But trump is not just a citizen, he is the boss of those that can revoke a license. Dangerous?
And poor trump found out how weak he is. A Senator got to meet with Kilmar Abrego García in El Salvador. trump says El Salvador won’t let him met with him. Wow, trump cowering before the President of El Salvador
trump yells about removing tax exempt status of colleges that don’t do his bidding. JT? crickets.
Yep, demos are a threat to free speech yet it is repos that shut down libraries, ban books, threaten news organizations.
    Wake up people.

First they came for the socialists…

  18. If Democrats can get away with “keying” Teslas, would it be OK to “key” their foreheads?

    1. Why the angst now about keying Teslas. Did you feel the same way a few years ago when those on the right were keying Teslas?

        1. How quickly they forget. I need prove nothing to you as pretty much every trump supporter there is only believes the lies their orange god tells them.
Believe what you will, it does not change reality. Hopefully someday you will learn that. if not, take some ivermectin, perhaps it will help you kill the bovine parasite in your blood. I’m pretty sure it cures pretty much everything under the sun. Oh, perhaps not measles, take some vitamins A for that.

      1. I tried Goggle and found zero proof of what you claim.
Only issue was folks protesting (right) the government paid discounts on Teslas.

      2. When you “make up” stories, they’re called “fiction.” The real question is “why” do you do it?
