Circling the Firing Squad: The Democratic Party Moves to Negate Earlier Election of David Hogg

Yet, this takes the cake. We have not seen such a display since the arrival of the Judean People’s Front Crack Suicide Squad:

  1. Hoggsy’s arrogance and incompetence has lead to an inside the DnC ‘s house COUP DE TA. The irony here of a supposed “democracy” party is off the charts.

  2. Someone once said (I forget who): “I didn’t leave the Democrat Party, it left me.”

    1. In that way, he really is the best Republican we’ve ever seen, isn’t he? (the Imploding Democrats, not the tragedy-bait)
      -Rabble

    2. Welcome, welcome to your culture (the bottom half). It’s like not knowing heaven really does exist, huh?

  3. In Other News: “Political Party Creates New Educational Toy for Children To Teach Proper Civics Lessons and Promote Virtue”

    1. @Darren

I wish it were a joke, but that is precisely where we are at. A whole lotta people raising children don’t seem to care one whit, not realizing they have to live in the world they are creating, too.

  4. Heck, I’m not very legally minded, an I’m still trying to figure out who won the Democratic Primary in Iowa in 2016?

The Iowa Democratic Party did not release vote counts or the numbers of these delegates. Instead, they later released the estimated amount of state delegates supporting each candidate. Wut the heck? This is when the Tomfoolery got out of control.

    1. It wasn’t clear if you voted for a male, female or binary that it was possible to vote one of that type again but not if another type weren’t included by the 3rd vote.

      1. The worst prank of the DNC was Joe stepping aside and suddenly Kamala was the candidate?

Was her father a citizen at her birth? Later naturalized? How old was she when she returned from Canada? Whatever…

  5. Because people in the DNC are no longer elected, merely placed, I’d love to know what genius thought putting David freaking Hogg in a position of authority was a good idea. I WANT a multiparty system, but the leader of the frat boys? Come on. Along with AOC and her cohort, this had disaster written all over it from the beginning, the dems’ ‘solution’ is no surprise, and their disdain for the rest of us is in taking this action in the first place is something to behold.

Good riddance, David, you weren’t even at the school that day (much like AOC was in a different building and nowhere near anything of consequence on January 6th) you privileged little sh**. This is all emblematic of a much bigger issue. Continued marginalization seems to be the only solution; thank goodness for our 1A. If this is the best Harvard can do – burn it, right along with their remedial math classes.

I suspect the dems will deeply regret their affiliation with the ‘Justice Dems’, next. It is all ludicrous and insulting beyond words. They will likely never rebuild their party, just pick up the scraps and hope for a mea culpa, one they will not get for a long time, indeed. The past at least 16 years have been a steadily declining abomination on the modern left.

  6. Blah, blah, blah. Every day before I look at Turley’s latest MAGA piece, I try to guess what MAGA media talking point he was assigned to write about to avoid the inconvenient truths about Trump–like, for instance, the Quatar “gift” of a “free” $400 million aircraft, or Trump cutting deals for himself in the Middle East to build golf resorts and hotels, the “investment” by Middle Eastern oligarchs in whatever latest crypto scam he’s running, and then, there’s the seemingly endless court losses over his Executive Orders. My point is this: Turley, you are not credible because you are just another MAGA media outlet that exists to defend Trump. The blatant violation of the Emoluments Clause is an obvious item for someone who claims to be a “Constitutional scholar” to write about, but Turley attacks the Democrat Party instead. I didn’t even read the details of today’s little piece because Turley also spins the facts. Then, there’s pathetic Tommy Tuberville’s lie that it’s OK for Quatar to gift Trump an airplane because all Presidents have always taken gifts from foreign governments–and his citing of Pammie Jo Blondie’s endorsement of the “gift” as support. This entire affair is outrageous, but Turley, the alleged “Constitutional scholar” wasn’t assigned the airplace scandal to write about for a good reason–because this is the most-blatant violation of the Emoluments Clause in our nation’s history. It is indefensible. Trump claims it was a gift to the Defense Department–but all of the aircraft, tanks, Humvees and other equipment held by the Defense Department are the property of the citizens of the United States. The military has no individual ownership of any such item of equipment and therefore, has no power to transfer title to any person or entity. Turley knows that, but the walls are caving in on Republicans and Trump, so he has to attack Democrats. And, he wants our respect?

    1. **this from the low-intelligence copycatter who accused “Tom” of name-calling and engaging in ‘attacks’ against her instead of “substantive” conversation.
Gullible Girl–the conversation here is about the DNC and David Hogg. Get it????????????? NOT about “fat pigs” “bottle blondies” and “MAGAts.”

      1. and BTW, even before you post, we know you are here with us because georgie boy suddenly gets an upvote.

    2. Gigi learn to spell (Quatar )
The air craft was NOT gifted to Prez Trump you fool. Try again

      1. Dustoff: The spelling of this country’s name is phonetic, because it is an Arabic word and not part of the English language.

        From “Fox News”:

“The Boeing 747 offered to the United States by Qatar will be given to the Department of Defense, President Donald Trump said Tuesday, responding to questions about the legality of accepting a gift from a foreign power.

Qatar’s royal family offered to donate a $400 million jumbo jet that could serve as Air Force One. ”

        From “The Gun Zone”:

“Do Taxes Pay for Military Aircraft? Understanding the Funding of National Defense

Yes, taxes absolutely pay for military aircraft. The procurement, operation, and maintenance of military aircraft, from fighter jets and bombers to transport planes and helicopters, are funded almost entirely through government revenue derived from taxes. These taxes include individual income tax, corporate income tax, payroll taxes, and excise taxes. Understanding how these funds are allocated is crucial to grasping the financial mechanisms underpinning national defense.”

The airplane hasn’t been “gifted” yet–and probably won’t be for several good reasons, including the fact that Congress would have to approve of it–which they won’t. Trump’s syncophantic “Attorney General’s” opinion that he can circumvent the Emoluments Clause is just plain wrong. Even if Congress would approve, the plane would have to be disassembled to eliminate the risk of hidden listening devices and incendiary devices and then reassembled by mechanics who have security clearances. That would take years, and the cost would exceed the price for a new plane, all paid for by the taxpayers. We already have an order for 2 new planes that are years behind schedule, so why would the taxpayers foot the bill for this one? Trump’s plan is for the DOD to take the aircraft, fly it as Air Force One and then gift it to the Trump “presidential library”. Trump would then be free to use it after he leaves office, with the cost of maintenance, fuel, etc. paid for by donations. This scheme is illegal without Congressional consent–which won’t happen.

        1. gigs only tried to raise “substantive” points after she/he was called out for her personal attacks on Turley, Trump, and other regulars here. Substantive and discredit are her two new words, learned here, just like the colon after someone’s name. really low intelligence.

    3. Wrong.
When I enlisted in the Marine Corps, I became US Government property via the DoD. I was not, nor the fully automated machine guns, grenade launchers, LAWs, and real actual assault rifles property of the American people.

      1. @Upstate

This is something a pampered East Coaster like Gigi will never understand sitting in her paid-for brownstone in NYC. Her forebears were the ones sending you guys out there in the first place because at root they are cowards themselves, physically, intellectually, and philosophically. Thank you for your service. 👍🏼

        1. she is NOT a pampered East Coaster and you are only feeding her ego that you think she is. She is a midwestern laborer who works a shift job and posts when she gets home or on her day off.

          1. @Anonymous

Uh-huh. That’s why ‘she’s’ here at 9 in the morning, every bloody day, and continues all day long. Pfft. Go blow. I am beginning to think that people of a certain cohort literally believe they have reality distortion powers. Psst – the MCU is something someone made up, as in, invented, you do not possess those powers and never will.

We see this every bloody day. Go blow, you are pathetic, and real grownups do not believe in unicorns or fairy dust. Sigh. That is what our five year-olds believe in, and hopefully they outgrow it. Make my, and others’ point for us, why don’t you?

Gigi is collecting a paycheck, alright but it isn’t from an honest job. You are convincing literally no one, of anything.

There is no way in Hades we are handing the reins of society to younger millennials or gen z. Just no way. Every time you open your mouths you double down on that. Enjoy being looked-after children for the rest of your lives. Heaven help the rest of us that actually have to do the work.

    4. How is this a “MAGA” piece? It was the Democrats who elected Hogg to vice-chair. It was Hogg to then later announced he would continue to support Leaders We Deserve group to primary against incumbent Democrats. It was the Democrat party who are now challenging Hogg, whom they voted for, on a technically. Is the technically legit? Or is it in a move against Hogg to keep him from the inner DNC power and making them look bad. No one but Democrats did this but themselves. And they are doing it all out in the open.
How is pointing out the obvious of what the Democrats are doing themselves a “MAGA” piece. It is nobody’s fault but their own, by their own actions. If Democrats want to win elections, they need to pull their heads out of their posterior ends.

      1. @Upstate

Because people are quite literally programmed like little computers and/or brainwashed in 2025 to think that any opinion that dissents from theirs is some form of fascism. Really. We could be debating sushi rolls, and someone on the modern left would cry, ‘MAGA! Fascist!’. These people are not grownups. They may as well be screeching about ice cream cones or ponies at their birthday parties. It is impossible to take seriously, and it would be amusing if the implications for everyone were not so serious. It is a tragedy and quite telling that the modern left had to damn near destroy all of free society to even have the slightest hint they might be doing something wrong.

But these kids: ignore them. If we could, we would give them all the spankings they should have received long ago. These are idiot children that understand almost literally *nothing*.

  7. Looks like buyer’s remorse to me. The little weasel should have made known his intentions before they voted. Foolish for the DNC to just assume that a candidate had good intentions, especially a self-centered climber like Hogg. I applaud the DNC for making this move, because it will highlight the split within the party and further separate them. I don’t think Hogg has any kind of monopoly on the youth vote, he’s repulsive to them as well, but he represents the pull to the Left. Whatever the outcome, it will contribute to the coming split, so by all means proceed.

The Democratic Party you have such nostalgia for died a long time ago, Turley. Bill Clinton signaled the end. There may be a few mummies shuffling around the Capitol like Durbin and Schumer, but they’ve lost their grip. The collapse will be glorious.

  8. The problem of both parties are these extreme “Purity Tests” by party leaders. A voter can agree with 90% of a party’s issues but if they don’t agree with 100% like lemmings following the leader, they are viewed as the enemy.

Anyone that agrees with 90% of a party’s issues are an ally not an enemy. Republicans have lost lots of great allies from their extreme purity tests but so have Democrats.

For example: if you are a member of Congress representing West Virginia where some of the best jobs are in coal mining, regardless of party you have to represent that local district. Democrats instead attack members of Congress like Joe Manchin because he fails to meet the purity tests of party leaders from more affluent voting districts in Hollywood and East Coast. Republicans also attack allies that support 90% of their issues if they simply disagree on one issue.

  9. Chicago? Democrats? I thought I read somewhere that Chicago was one of the most corrupt political machines in the US for quite some time.

  10. Turls, you may have grown up in a liberal Chicago family, but you’ve certainly taken the Republican $ in D.C. and given trump a reach around every chance you can by constantly seeking to manipulate the stories of the day to keep attention off of trump’s criminal enterprises….

You made a career of Cohn esque character assassination of Hunter Biden, yet can’t wait to ignore trump’s open solicitation of bribes in office, and running active grift campaigns in his efforts to retake office. It’s a quite despicable effort, honestly, and you fully deserve the label of ‘Mike Pillow with tenure’ that has been leveled upon you…

As to the Hogg situation, it’s exactly what the D’s need. I look forward to how the party resolves the ghosts being dredged up… Ultimately, it will have the effect of letting voters in on the effort to fight for them while the entire R party licks trump’s ass and takes away the benefits they care about.

  11. Interesting issue. I have to agree with Hogg about the need for younger candidates and seeking to replace the older folks who are not exactly aligned with the younger voters who are becoming more important in the next few elections.

The DNC definitely has it’s problems and this election issue with the Vice chairs is more of a interparty squable over procedure. It does look like an attempt to remove Hogg and the other candidate, BUT they are still in play and if they get elected again then the DNC will have to contend with Hogg. Turley, as usual, paints a picure of disfunction or disorganization within the DNC. That may well be true. The RNC has it’s own problems as well and they are not immune from the same. The current Republican party is not longer the same party it once was. It’s Trump’s party. Not Reagan’s or even the same party that elected both Bushes.

Hogg is correct about the need to have younger members of congress who are more in tune with the needs and demands of the public than the older members who clearly should not be in Congress due to their disconnect with the public. Trump and Biden made it clear most of the public is tired of having these old barely there or rant prone government officials clinging to the lucrative perks of being a member of congress. Hefty donations from corporations, and insider trading, and making deals for themselves rather than their consituents. Republican members have faced angry constituents in town halls, so much so that their leadership has told them to stop having these town halls. Because they don’t want to face the reality that their policy choices and legislation is not what their constituents want.

The DNC needs to have a real hard debate about Hoggs vision because he’s not wrong. He may be too blunt or direct for the party’s leadership to accept but he’s still right. Trump’s decreasing popularity and incompetent handling of the economy and his constant caving on trade deals makes a wonderful opportunity to ‘upgrade’ the Demcratic party to a younger generation that has the energy and newer ideas that the old guard has been too reluctant to try.

But Turley is almost right. The DNC has issues, but they are not as dire as he pretends it is.

    1. So George once again speaks out of both sides of his mouth. He now tells us that the Democrats need new blood but for months he told us that Biden was sharp as a tack and the aged Pelosi had no responsibility for security on Jan 6. George is a proud leader of the third brigade of the suicide squad. Psst. Don’t tell George that RussiaGate was a hoax as admitted by The New York Times and The Washington Post. He might soil his Depends. Maybe George needs to be replaced with some “young blood.”

      1. Think

Nice response, and for George to think Hogg is a good pick. Well good luck with that.

  12. In the Soviet Union, you at least knew who sat on the politburo and pulled the strings. With the Democrats, there really does appear to be a Deep State the rest of us are not allowed to know about.

This started with Obama. O liked having his capos do the dirty work while he floated above the carnage. It became a rainbow-colored clown car under Biden.

I’m still trying to figure out who removed Biden. Did Jake Tapper sabotage Joe Biden? Did Obama order him to? Who’s in charge here??

Washington D.C. needs an autopsy. With Trump, you at least know who’s got the scalpel, and yes, I voted for this. More, please.

    1. Diogenes,
I have said it before, the Democrat party needs to eject the far left wing that has taken over. Those stupid and crazies are the one’s moderate and traditional Democrats want out of their party. As long as the stupid and crazies are allowed to stay in the Democrat party, the Democrats will continue to lose and more and more of the moderate and traditional Democrats will either leave the party or just not vote.
I am looking forward to Jake Trappers book. And to see if there is any follow on of others with books of how dysfunctional the Biden admin really was. We all know it was, just be interesting to see them come out and tell the truth.
I agree. This is what the majority of American’s voted for. Successful trade deals, fair trade deals, all for the betterment of Americans. A secure border. Deporting criminal illegals. Getting biological males out of women’s sports. Combating antisemitism, discrimination and race based entry into universities. Getting DEI out of the military.
      More, please indeed!

      1. “I am looking forward to Jake Trappers book.”

I am looking forward to books that insult others, leading to more books where the insulted insult the insulters. With reputations at stake, we could see a chain reaction leading to the crystallization of the truth.

  13. Funny part, I can recall a interview with then DNC chair Howard Dean who said the DNC needed young blood and the elders should step out of the way. At the time I thought he was right. Now, looking at the kind of people Hogg wants to bring in, I could understand why the DNC wants to eject him.
I also think the RNC Mitch McConnels need to retire. Like to see more former military get elected.

    1. We need at least 5 parties, imho. Liberals(Progressives), Democrats, Centrists, Republicans, MAGA/Conservatives. Thunderdome it up. However, this would require them to unfutz the education system so we have educated voters again.
      -Rabble

      1. sorry but Liberals and Progressives are 2 distinct animals… as far left as Liberals have become, neither the Neo Liberal nor the Classic Liberal is anywhere near the radical off-the-charts Progressive (which is both the core and the bulwark of the Dem. Party to-day, as Prof. Turley beautifully pointed out here…) … There are 2 Conservative sets that lay claim to being Republicans.. the RINOs and the Reagan Republicans updated to MAGA.. The ‘centrists’ are the true Independents.. can stretch to encompass any and all boundaries of the other sets as needed……
