Democrats Pledge Impeachments and Prosecutions When They Return to Power

Various Democrats are promising to investigate and impeach President Donald Trump if they retake the House next year. At the same time, others are promising a scorched earth campaign against those who support Trump, including Elon Musk. Representative Suhas Subramanyam (D-VA) declared this week that Musk committed crimes and will be at the top of the list.

MSNBC’s ratings may be declining but the network is escalating the unhinged rhetoric. Host Symone Sanders ominously told Rep. Suhas Subramanyam (D-VA) , “Let’s talk about Elon Musk” and his “data” on waste that he identified in the federal government: “So what are Democrats going to do about the data? Are you all going to follow up on this?”

Subramanyam immediately pledged to hunt Musk down:

“… certainly, I think some crimes may have been committed over the past 3 or 4 months, and they are going to come to light one way or another, even if it takes us getting into power again, but we will subpoena people and find out.”

There is no evidence of any criminal conduct by Musk. Indeed, DOGE has largely won in its fights to gain access to records in the search for fraud and waste.

Nevertheless, after calling for Musk to be “taken down,” Democratic rep. Jasmine Crockett (D., Tx.) is also calling for Musk to be investigated over DOGE once Democrats take power.

It is otherworldly to see Democrats raising prosecution threats against the effort to reduce the size and waste of government. One can certainly be critical of some of the cuts under DOGE but few would disagree that Musk helped find billions in waste, including some shocking revelations about the inefficiencies of our government.

A former Obama aide, Rep. Subramanyam just arrived in Congress but has immediately resumed the same failed narrative. The Democrats are an example of how, if you only have a hammer, every problem looks like a nail.

There is a return to the same script from pledges of prosecutions to impeachments. Rep. Alexandra Ocasio-Cortez has even reimagined the “defund the police” campaign into an “Abolish ICE” campaign.

Resisting immigration enforcement, downsizing government, and other issues are only moving the party further from the center of this country.

The threat only reaffirms my call yesterday for President Trump to award Musk the Presidential Medal of Freedom for his contributions to space exploration, electric vehicles, free speech, and other public service. Elon has lost a fortune in resisting these attacks and threats from the left. This country owes him a great debt.

  1. Democrats seem to be trying extra hard to be on the wrong side of every issue. Including opposing a president with record approval. Just another reason to not vote Democrat.

      1. Record approval? Evidence of this?

Higher than George W Bush following 9/11? I believe that was 90%.

Can you please send the poll that shows Trump polling about 90%?

  2. The Dems don’t want Vance as POTUS. And they know there is zero chance of Trump being removed by a 2/3 vote of the Senate. This is all just playing to the base to rile them up. It is not sincere.

  3. “Democrats Pledge Impeachments and ProsecutionsWhen They Return to Power
What that statement says is that (When They Return to Power), They (Dems) have someway to rig the Election(s) again to their advantage.

The Deep State & Dems think Criminally, so there’s no doubt that They will do what They do to get what they want.

    1. What really scares me. Dem/libs have gone off the cliff. As we have seen with Comey.
Someone on the left will harm a GOP Congress person or Senator As we saw with the base ball shooting by a Bernie bro.

  4. If the national deficit and debt are not taken care of, none of this will matter. We need a balanced budget amendment. This “big beautiful bill” promoted by the GOP shows that absent a BBA, we’re doomed.

  5. Mr. Musk has done more for the Republic at great personal risk than any elected member of Congress. He has done all this in 4 months! The Medal of Freedom is the least he deserves.

  6. Subramanyam (Obama “confederate”—in league, assisting in plot, carrying out plan, unethical): it is no wonder that many of these young foreigners, new to the country, perhaps first-generation-“Americans” are filling up the House of Representatives: much like Obama, they have no patriotic experience of this country, no allegiance, only freedoms to alter, adulterate, and destroy traditional American principles. Today, the House looks more like a rogues gallery than a respectable body of legislators.

As for the promise to prosecute and persecute, the threats show that the democrats, whether old-goons or young hooligans, have no brains or ideas, just endless verbal, mental/emotional, social and political, VIOLENCE.

  7. The Democratic Party is very good at one thing: polarizing America.
It has managed to place its operatives in the highest of places with the most visibility: national (legacy) MEDIA, Hollywood, protester/MOB activity, and judicial/legislative posts. Consequently, we all (both sides) are more on edge, distrusting, and less likely to get important things done.

Not that I want it/them to go away: indeed, a Left-wing thumb of Resistance over a water hose nozzle just makes the water come out with so much more exponential force.
Having Biden sandwich between the two Trump terms has added to this Resistance.
Here’s something you likely won’t see on MSM tonight: a 28 y.o. Defense Intelligence Agency employee with a Top Secret clearance nabbed for trying to sell Intelligence data because he did not “agree or align with the values of this [Trump] administration.” REPEAT: because he did not “agree or align with the values of this [Trump] administration.”

      Excellent word-picture lin.

    2. Lin,
      Well said.
And thank you for pointing out the DIA employee with a TS clearance attempting to sell intelligence data. Goes to show exactly how TDS is not only real, but also a national security threat. People with TDS should not hold a security clearance, be allowed to be in federal government positions with access to classified information. They also need to be seeing a whole team of psychotherapists, medicated, not allowed to operate heavy machinery, not allowed to reproduce, not allowed to access to sharp objects or firearms, own real estate and not allowed to vote.
They are not of sound mind.

      1. As thorough as you were in addressing prescribed restrictions for today’s democrat-party, there’s still too much “wiggle-room” left for them to cause more damage.

  8. Just a small sample of Democrat lunacy…

Threats of impeachment with no visible transgressions.

    Massive embezzlement schemes like USAID.

Spreading gender madness around the world.

Pantifags mobbing a woman going to a religious meeting with her child.

It’s clear that in their rational policy folder they have nothing, nada, zilch. All of their policy positions are described by two mutually supporting factors… FRAUD and DESTRUCTION.

They deserve no positions of public trust.

  9. Well said and I concur 100% Anyone attacking the auditor for finding waste, inefficiency and fraud or potential fraud are the people I would question.

  12. Meanwhile in reality, lawsuits alleging Musk unlawfully exercised executive authority without proper constitutional appointment continue…

    https://nmdoj.gov/press-release/court-rejects-motion-to-dismiss-elon-musk-from-a-lawsuit-brought-by-new-mexico-and-13-states-alleging-constitutional-violations/

For Turley and many conservatives, the ends seem to justify the means.

Even if cutting the size of government indiscriminately is a noble objective, one must do so legally. Process matters. It is a shame that a law professor fails to recognize the importance of proper constitutional appointment.

Bypassing this process allowed Musk to personally enrich himself and his private companies.

For example, he secured a new Starlink contract after firing hundreds of FAA employees, in clear violation of conflicts rules.

    1. Got rid of the slag.

      Not the air traffic controllers…

Nice lie Newsweek… But not shocked

    2. “Meanwhile in reality, lawsuits alleging Musk unlawfully exercised executive authority without proper constitutional appointment continue…”

Where in the constitution does it say that investigating waste, fraud and abuse and making recomendations to cut waste fraud and abuse require congressional apointment.

While Musk can excercise whatever executive power the president delegates to him, I do not recall a single instance in which DOGE excercised ANY execeutive power.

They FIND waster fraud and abuse. The actual cuts are done by various cabinet heads.

“For Turley and many conservatives, the ends seem to justify the means.”
Please identify the process requirements in the constitution to CUT waste fraud and abuse ?

“Even if cutting the size of government indiscriminately is a noble objective, one must do so legally. Process matters.”
Tue but actually not all that consequential.

Again What is the constitutional impediments to cutting waste fraud and abuse ?

What is the law that is actually being violated ?
BTW Due process is not applicable unless an individuals rights are being violated.
Government or government agencies do not have due process rights.

“It is a shame that a law professor fails to recognize the importance of proper constitutional appointment.”
Again What ACTIONS has DOGE performed ? DOGE conducts investigations and makes recomendations. The appointments clause is NOT implicated.

“For example, he secured a new Starlink contract after firing hundreds of FAA employees, in clear violation of conflicts rules.”

Is there anyone out there that can put up communications satleites cost competitively with Starlink ?

Musk is not winning contracts because of shady deals or influence pedaling.
Musk is winning contracts because no one can compete with his prices.

During the Biden administration – despite Biden’s loathing of Musk the US shutdown the Atlas program. Prior to Space X Atlas was both the oldest and one of the most const effective means to get anything into space. The Atlas program was dropped because it costs almost 10 times as much per Kg as SpaceX’s Falcon 9. Nothing competes with Falcon 9 for cost to space.
50% of everything being sent to space is going on a Falcon 9 right now. Russia has had to essentially shut down their space program – it is too expensive and can not compete.
China is trying to close the Falcon 9 – and eventually will succeed, but for now they are failing miserably.

And Starship is waiting in the wings with another order of magnitude reduction in costs once it is operational.

Further Musk has not only cut the cost of putting things into space RADICALLY but he is profiting while doing so. That is not a conflict of interests, that is exactly what we want.

Bezos and Allen and other space billionaires are way behind Musk – but it is likely they will slowly catch up – and that is a good thing for all of us. Competition is wonderful.

But TODAY if you want something in space – you call SpaceX.

      1. “Where in the constitution does it say that investigating waste, fraud and abuse and making recomendations to cut waste fraud and abuse require congressional apointment.”

        The Appointments Clause!

The Constitution divides and balances power across the three branches—the Executive, Legislature, and Judiciary—as a vital check against tyranny and to promote effective governance. The Appointments Clause embodies this foundational compromise. The Constitution grants Congress the power to create federal offices and agencies. The President shall then appoint individuals to fill such offices, subject to Senate confirmation. And the Judiciary may decide whether the Legislature and Executive acted in accordance with their constitutional prerogatives.

The Constitution does not permit the Executive to commandeer the entire appointments power by unilaterally creating a federal agency pursuant to Executive Order and insulating its principal officer from the Constitution as an “advisor” in name only.

        1. “For example, he secured a new Starlink contract after firing hundreds of FAA employees, in clear violation of conflicts rules.”

There’s only one problem. It isn’t clear violation of conflict rules. From the article you posted (I presuming it was you who posted the Newsweek link).

“The FAA said in a statement on Monday: “Alaska has long had issues with reliable weather information for the aviation community. The 2024 FAA Reauthorization required the FAA to fix telecommunications connections to address those needs. That is why the FAA has been considering the use of Starlink since the prior administration to increase reliability at remote sites, including in Alaska.”

As John Say had asked of you. Is there anyone out there that can put up communications satellites cost competitively with Starlink? I mean there’s Hughes Network Systems. But are they more cost-effective SpaceX’s Starlink system? And then there’s Viasat. However, the problem with those two services is that they don’t own their rockets. And as such, they will have to rely on others to get their satellites into space. Thus potentially making their services more expensive than SpaceX who does have their own rockets to launch their satellites into space and into Earth’s low earth orbit. Another problem with Hughes Network Systems and Viasat is that their satellites are in Earth’s geosynchronous orbit. While geosynchronous orbit might be great for the longevity of a satellite’s life expectancy, it also more than likely be going to be very expensive

          “The Appointments Clause!

Can you tell us what position Elon Musk held as a federal employee within the federal government? The last time I checked, Elon Musk was nothing more than an “advisor” to Trump. Thus he wouldn’t be needing approval from the Senate to confirm his position. Did Obama seek Senate approval when he picked Mikey Dickerson to head the United States Digital Service? Of course Obama didn’t.

          https://x.com/jimgeraghty/status/1889687336465637609

In short, Anon (seriously, use a handle), you failed. Miserably.

“The Constitution does not permit the Executive to commandeer the entire appointments power by unilaterally creating a federal agency pursuant to Executive Order and insulating its principal officer from the Constitution as an “advisor” in name only.”

Except that Trump didn’t do such a thing. Trump did nothing more than essentially gave the old United States Digital Service a new “paint job.”

  13. If I were members of this administration as well as Elon Musk I would take them for their word. They have proven in the past 8 years they will do anything and everything to destroy those in their way, lie, cheat, theft, fraud all fair play to them. They never face consequence. If you don’t deal with the problem while you’re strong, the problem will deal with you when you’re weak.

      1. Democrats.
We all knew whom “they” Margot was referring to. Only a lower elevator level IQ dupe could not figure that out.

  14. Musk committed many crimes…, as has Trump. They both deserve scrutiny…, and in trump’s case, he deserves impeachment as well.

    1. You obviously have no idea what you’re talking about. But then you DID vote for Harris/Walz so your cluelessness is obviously genetic.

      1. I would love to see the citation to a peer-reviewed paper that shows a genetic basis for a cluelessness trait fundamentally tied to voting behavior.

    2. ATS
If Muck and Trump committed crimes – then you would be able to cite them.

Real crimes, not the bogus nonsense that cost you the 2024 election.

  15. What are the modern Democrat party going to run on?
    We will bring back DEI?
We will lower the bar in K-12 education standards?
We will re-open the border for more criminal, violent illegals to assault, rape and murder women and children?
We will end Trump’s tariffs and all those companies who have committed billions of dollars to re-build, re-shore jobs back to America will then just off shore them again?
We are the party who will bring back ultra-processed food stuff to the SNAP program?
We are the anti-MAHA party and will make you feel bad for eating healthy, exercise and being responsible for your health and promote big Pharma and pill pushing?
We are the party of forever wars?
We are the party that supports and celebrates the murder of a CEO and two young Israeli embassy workers?
We are the party of America and Americans last?

      1. Dustoff,
And fraud, waste and abuse, lack of transparency or accountability.
And more biological men in women’s sports.

        1. Nothing wrong with Raw milk.

        2. The miscarriage rate for women after they got the COVID vaccine went up to 12.6%.
However, when you drill down into the data, that rate skyrockets to 82% of women in the 1st trimester.
So, yes, for those women the vaccine was bad. And it was people like you who forced them to take the vaccine along with the Biden admin. So, now we can add to Biden’s list of horrors and crimes forcing women to take a vaccine and cause them to miscarriage.

          1. Don’t forget the unexpected “benefits” of the CV-19 serum injections ……… The “annual” flu-rate dropped to ZERO while the mortality-rate increased. It’s simply amazing how the manipulated data showed just how fake their entire scam was.

    1. Most of your points are spot on.

“We will end Trump’s tariffs and all those companies . . .”

That one, though, is economic illiteracy.

Those companies are *not* investing in America because of Trump’s tariffs. They and their customers, too, are compelled to pay those tariff-taxes. And they, too, suffer the uncertainty caused by those tariffs.

They are investing in spite of his tariffs, and because of his pro-business, pro-free market policies, e.g., drastically cutting government regulations, lowering taxes, and a conviction that a horde of government bureaucrats will not throttle and penalize them for their success.

  16. A few Dem voices in the wilderness are warning against doubling down on stupid (e.g., Maher, Carville). The rest of the Dem party seems to be digging their hole deeper by continuing to favor men in women’s sports and locker rooms, DEI (and wokeness generally), genital mutilation on children, defund the police, criminal illegal aliens, and the like.

With that said, the GOP is also starting to dig its own hole by not taking deficit reduction seriously. The voters have noticed or will notice by 2026. That’s the elephant in the room.

Finally, I believe all of this is aimed at promoting AOC as their candidate. She’s on the left-wing lunatic fringe to be sure, but she’s also media savvy and easily able to rally the support of the Dem base. She also knows how to avoid mistakes that make the Dem elite throw one to the curb (think: Jamaal Bowman). You can bet they’re strategizing about how to reduce her negatives, because she’s the future of the Dem party and they know it.

(With that said, their future would be better if they did a Bill Clinton and moved to the center – as he did in 1994 after losing the midterms, he embraced DOMA and welfare reform and easily beat Dole in 1996 – but I don’t see any significant movement in that direction, and today’s story is illustrative.)

    1. OldManFromKS,
I respectfully disagree on the AOC part. I do not think she is that sharp and just stumbles along. The only thing she is good at is courting the far leftists with wokeism. She has been found to be the lest effective Congress person. She would be a disaster of a candidate for the Democrat party. The funny thing is while she is polling the best for a 2028 run among the far leftists, the moderates and Independents want nothing to do with her.

    2. 🤔 get to red State, go into the wilderness or just leave the country and roam the world 6 months at a time 🤔.

      It’s good to be old…

  17. One just has to love the idea of never learning a lesson. Two impeachments have not stopped Trump, it has only made him more popular. Even if the Democrats retake the House and go for impeachment, they will not have enough for conviction. So other than making themselves look bad, what is the point? The rhetoric mayor may not help their cause, but I bet it worries some Democrats in Republican districts. The Democrats are handing the Republicans a whip by threatening impeachment.

Maybe it is just me, but I see time and time again Trump forcing Democrats to defend bad positions. Regardless if Trumps wins on any given issue, at this moment, he wins the longer game when this happens.

    Trump Derangement Syndrome is real.

        1. waltrthompson,
It is all they have. They rant nonsense, offer no prof or evidence, then run away. Just like a child.
