Democrats Pledge Impeachments and Prosecutions When They Return to Power

Various Democrats are promising to investigate and impeach President Donald Trump if they retake the House next year. At the same time, others are promising a scorched earth campaign against those who support Trump, including Elon Musk. Representative Suhas Subramanyam (D-VA) declared this week that Musk committed crimes and will be at the top of the list.

MSNBC’s ratings may be declining but the network is escalating the unhinged rhetoric. Host Symone Sanders ominously told Rep. Suhas Subramanyam (D-VA) , “Let’s talk about Elon Musk” and his “data” on waste that he identified in the federal government: “So what are Democrats going to do about the data? Are you all going to follow up on this?”

Subramanyam immediately pledged to hunt Musk down:

“… certainly, I think some crimes may have been committed over the past 3 or 4 months, and they are going to come to light one way or another, even if it takes us getting into power again, but we will subpoena people and find out.”

There is no evidence of any criminal conduct by Musk. Indeed, DOGE has largely won in its fights to gain access to records in the search for fraud and waste.

Nevertheless, after calling for Musk to be “taken down,” Democratic rep. Jasmine Crockett (D., Tx.) is also calling for Musk to be investigated over DOGE once Democrats take power.

It is otherworldly to see Democrats raising prosecution threats against the effort to reduce the size and waste of government. One can certainly be critical of some of the cuts under DOGE but few would disagree that Musk helped find billions in waste, including some shocking revelations about the inefficiencies of our government.

A former Obama aide, Rep. Subramanyam just arrived in Congress but has immediately resumed the same failed narrative. The Democrats are an example of how, if you only have a hammer, every problem looks like a nail.

There is a return to the same script from pledges of prosecutions to impeachments. Rep. Alexandra Ocasio-Cortez has even reimagined the “defund the police” campaign into an “Abolish ICE” campaign.

Resisting immigration enforcement, downsizing government, and other issues are only moving the party further from the center of this country.

The threat only reaffirms my call yesterday for President Trump to award Musk the Presidential Medal of Freedom for his contributions to space exploration, electric vehicles, free speech, and other public service. Elon has lost a fortune in resisting these attacks and threats from the left. This country owes him a great debt.

  1. Who elected this guy – Suhas Subramanyam – Democrat of Virginia.
And has Suhas helped put forth any legislation in his career in the House so far, or made any attempt to work across the aisle?
Has Hakeem given Suhas the ‘green light’ to go public with these impeachment and legal threats?
Would Nancy P. have done so —
Suhas should be kissing the ground he’s walking on, for living in country who tolerates his brand of hatred

  2. #9. Sounds a lot like the ole RINO shtick from the late nineties… “Well see there, it’s all your fault on account of you didn’t vote us in for the majority so now we can’t do nuffin. But if you vote us in NEXT TIME, yes next time for sure we’ll do something. Harnest we will. No fooling, next time by golly, you’ll see, you just wait…”

Still searching for that white folk code barker.

  3. “’So what are Democrats going to do about the data?'”

“Subramanyam immediately pledged to hunt Musk down”

Per usual, the D’s evade the facts and, instead, smear the person.

The D’s excel at one thing: The politics of personal destruction.

    1. Quite incredible preemptive pardons are. On hopeless days when overwhelmed by the immorality I re – read the Assisi Prayer. Recommend for the committed atheists.

      1. YES, Anonymous! Anch’io!

Lord make me an instrument of your peace,
Where there is hatred let me sow love.
        Where there is injury, pardon.
        Where there is doubt, faith.
        Where there is despair, hope.
        Where there is darkness, light.
And where there is sadness, joy.

O divine master grant that I may
        not so much seek to be consoled as to console;
        to be understood as to understand;
To be loved as to love
For it is in giving that we receive-
it is in pardoning that we are pardoned.
And it’s in dying that we are born to eternal life.
        Amen

    2. At least if they are issued by the Trump Administration, we will know that Trump actually signed them and that an autopen was not used.

  4. Somehow, I am taken aback by the term “power.” One can have extraordinary “power”, but use power to commit good or evil. The term power yields no message how the power will be used. It is not axiomatic that a given political party would use power for the benefit of all, rather than a few party insiders.

I will never vote for any candidate who does not define the persuasions of power, but leave us all guessing!

    1. * . Yes, and the sense of power used was general power, raw power and not specific as in the powers of the the president and executive.

He said they’d ” hunt him down” as to Musk? Barbarians… who are these people.

      1. *. Maybe the dems are all just AI. The people who are happiest are those going to jobs and those who’ve hobbies. My opinion…

  5. Reading most of these hinged posts, one could excuse China for sinking a US aircraft carrier assuming America was on their side, and would surrender to China’s calm, regulated, always right, never wrong life style.

  6. I initially thought Trump giving Musk the award would finally be worse than the one he gave Limbaugh. A disgustingly horrible idea. But on further reflection I think it’s a wonderful idea. Icing on the cake. Musk will never sell another Tesla again. See sometimes I do agree with Prof. Turley.

    1. ….but you have no problem with Biden giving a blue ribbon (Medal of Freedom) to George Soros. Your agreement with Turley doesn’t have the same skill in reasoning or gravitas.

      1. I may be suffering from the same problem of lack of reasoning or gravitas. I do not follow Jed Rubenfeld’s arguments in today’s WSJ on solving the problem re: US District Judges. See:

Nationwide Injunctions? Only if the Supreme Court Has Spoken

District judges shouldn’t be able to make policy in cases that require them to announce new law.

Nationwide injunctions came before the Supreme Court in an emergency oral argument this month. The justices are clearly concerned about the practice, in which a lone federal trial judge can block a government policy even if other judges have upheld it. But the government failed to offer a satisfactory solution. There is, however, a clean and simple fix that the court itself could effectuate.

Would like to learn OMFK, Lin, et al. attorneys on here their thoughts

        1. I’m not an attorney, but the question seems to be forever muddied by an undefined class in the law—before now, whoever heard of illegals with “standing”—and this is exactly how judges who politically-oppose the president’s agenda end up “running the country.” “…Kavanaugh suggested a “technical” fix—that nationwide injunctions would be fine so long as plaintiffs style their complaint as a class action,” but this does nothing to stop the “forum-shopping” that leads to so much of this dirty pool, i.e., nationwide injunctions.

Forum-shopping, leads directly to the unbecoming practice of partisan judges abandoning the necessary protocols of justice: objectivity, disinterest or neutrality, impartiality [undistorted by emotion or personal bias], thus incapable of handling the controversy correctly; without such controls partisan judges are then entitled to “announcing or trying out new law.” Forum-shopping should be reigned in before the unrestrained opportunity at nationwide injunctions even begins.

          1. I think the Supreme Court has the power to stop nationwide injunctions by passing a rule forbidding nationwide injunctions unless the law is already settled by the Supreme Court. There is only one court for the nation, and that is the Supreme Court.

      2. So when are we getting an update on Turley’s nomination of Musk for PNF award. Or is this another whoops not going to talk about that anymore sweep under the carpet award?

    2. You are such a piece of (fill in the blank). If you hate the idea of America taking care of Americans instead of taking care of the rest of the World, move to another country. If you think a brain dead president is superior to a common sense, thinking president, move to another country. If you relish in the thoughts of wind and solar and your neighbors are freezing (or melting) to death because no juice to power AC or heaters, move to another country. And if you think government is the anwser for all of human needs and wants then get the hell out. You don’t deserve to be here.

  7. In eliminating US global health funding Trump / Musk / Rubio / Vance could be responsible for 25 million deaths. This is what Elon accomplished. And you want him to receive the Presidential Medal of Freedom? I can’t think of anyone less worthy. I can’t think of anything more offensive.

      1. Hi Kirk. If that were true, then why have prominent Republicans (most notably Secretary of State Marco Rubio) championed USAID for their entire careers? For example, Rubio very recently petitioned President Biden to give even MORE money to USAID. Here’s a link to the letter that Rubio sent to Biden pleading for MORE support for USAID:

        https://web.archive.org/web/20220325171523/https:/www.rubio.senate.gov/public/index.cfm?p=Press-Releases&id=BC12230A-0BFB-4119-A05B-881C02BAE487

        1. THE DEMS hid the FRAUD! RUBIO thought before USAID was used for good. MUSK and others proved it was a MASSIVE FRAUD run by DEMS!! GOT IT DUMB ANON???

          1. So – by this argument, Republicans must be INCREDIBLY easy to fool then, right? I mean – we’re talking epic levels of gullible.

            1. NOT WHAT I SAID!! NEVER TRUST A DEM ON ANYTHING!!!! DEMS gave us COMATOSE JOE and DUMB Kamala!!

BTW I said it might have been possible 1 Republican could have trusted a DEM too much!! NEVER AGAIN!! BOZO!!

            2. Why would that be ? The entire country has been fooled. How would republicans be any stupider than you ?

A tiny few of us have been ranting that Government spending is Always waste and nearly always corrupt. Most republicans and Democrats either do not know or do not care or both. Historically Dems waste more than Republicans But even republicans spend far more than government should.

Regardless, despite lots of data over decades – most people have been duped about government spending for atleast all my life.

I suspect that you actually beleive that 95% of the USAID money was not wasted.
              That would be truly guilible.

I suspect you also beleive the idiocy that but for that spending millions will die.

Just like you beleived Covid would kill us all,

The fundimental reason that people die of starvation and disease througout the world today is WAR and Politics. There is not a nation in the world today that is incapable of feeding its own people without importing food or receiving food aid.
That is one of the great changes that has occured over the past 50 years.

All significant disease and starvation in Africa is the result of conflict.
Little if any aide actually gets through – because most of the money goes to line peoples pockets – usually in the US. And because the little that gets near where it is intended is held hostage by those engaged in the conflict.

This is not new, it did not just start happening. It is commonplace.

Outside of Africa we have similar things hapening in Ukraine.
Here we have ukraine fighting for its life – and still most aide – even military aide does not get through, or if it does lots and lots of pockets get lined.

And orders of magnitude more people have died in Ukraine than in Gaza.

          2. * . It’s truly tragic that the world is in such error. Yes, USAID money is used for ill purpose. It’s a hard reality.

            1. Even China’s Belt and Road blatant foreign influence program is rife with corruption, fraud and incredibly ineffective.
Why would we beleive USAID is doing better ?

          3. Indeed—what DOGE showed was exactly that the money led to elaborate paper trails that proved 1) most government officials did not know where the money was actually going, and 2) those who did, were money laundering through NGOs. The massive and hidden fraud was facilitated by exclusively extreme-leftist (democrat) staffers.

            1. The source of the waste is now exposed. The question is whether Republicans will act to shut it down or let it keep flowing while pretending discovery counts as victory.

            2. Dianna, I suspect that the massive democrat corruption in USAID – and likely through the rest of Government is primarily because Democrats have controlled government for 12 of the last 16 years – and even during the first Trump admin – much of the federal government – including the staff and much of the leadership of these agencies was democrat, And the few Trump appointees at the top – many were at best less corrupt than Dems.

Under normal circumstances DOGE’s fight against corruption would not have been possible, BOTH parties would have fought it.

But Dems have had such total control of the federal executive – even when the president is replaced with the other party until now, that has lead to a vast imbalance in the corruption, and Republicans having little to fear from exposing it.

It is never good for those in power to become homogenous. Not in Government,
not in colleges, not anywhere. It increases corruption and increases the incentive for the out group to expose that corruption.

              1. “But Dems have had such total control of the federal executive…” AND they’ve had too much control in the judicial, all three branches really—let us never forget how Pelosi made up new rules at every turn, during the COVID attack. There was never any meaningful and effective resistance during the lock-downs, evidence of the increasing [or can we say, the established] HOMOGENEITY.

Homogeneity, the sameness of outcome, is now deceptively-called “equity and inclusion,” from the dumbing-down in education to the economic sphere, it’s a march toward communism, most effectively achieved through the virtue-signaling of extreme-leftists over the twelve-years of “democrat” administrations who think homogeneity leads to utopia. Fools.

          4. Impossible to have a conversation with POS leftists. Don’t you know they are always right? I will be glad when Congress offers boundies on them.

        2. Anon at 4:54 and 5:07
I suspect you are also Anon from 3:41 asking for comments from Trump supporters.
          I am Anon at 5:22

The responses by Kirk are exactly what I am talking about. The MAGA crowd are unreachable.
No matter how much you confront them with actual facts and irrefutable evidence, they will deny reality and attack you as a liar and launch a tirade of personal abuse.
          They will never engage.
They will also veer off into other tirades of grievance relating to unrelated matters as if that somehow justifies their denial of reality.

Note how Kirk, realizing he is wrong, veers off into an attack on “COMATOSE JOE and DUMB KAMALA”.

          This is their standard M.O.
Deny reality, launch a tirade of personal abuse, then veer off into an attack on Biden or the “libs” in general.
To them, the important thing is to score “points” by insults and abuse.
They have no interest in rational engagement because they know they will always lose.

          1. Actually, I think you are talking about leftist democrats. I will argue with you on facts all day long and never once resort to name calling. How about you?

            1. Would you like to discuss the pros and cons about illegal immigration?
My position is that there is nothing good about illegal immigration. America should choose who we invite into our country, same as you would want for your home to protect your home and family. The fact that one enters our home illegally, means that at best they will be automatically escorted out of our home, and should they try to return, they should be shot as an invading force trying to take over our country.

        3. Absolutely many on the right have in the past joined democrats to do bad things – possibly with good intentions, but bed nonetheless.

I have no idea if Rubio had an epiphany, Actually learned something about the data or just realizes where the political winds and his future lies. Regardless, my interest is in Rubio TODAY, and I am pretty happy with that.

        4. That was probably before learning about how. where, and to whom the money was sent. People would naturally think that the money went to direct aid, not to multiple NGOs who spread the money to other NGOs run by “Friends and family of ……..” An opera in Ireland should NOT qualify as health, welfare, etc. As in many, if not most, charities only a fraction the money raised goes directly to a program. In regard to other countries, how much ends up in the pockets of that country’s politicians? Musk et al followed the money and it wasn’t pretty!

    1. What a crock of BS. Explain to me why the US is solely responsible for “Global Health Funding”? Why does the US contribute twice the amount of money to WHO versus China? Time for other countries to pay their fair share….. We’re drowning in debt and can’t afford it anymore. Not to mention most of what we contribute is lining the pockets of corrupt officials.

      1. Exactly…36 TRILLION in debt…does the world want to refund us all the money we put in? Didn’t think so…

      2. Why is anyone responsible for Global Health funding ?
Throughout the world int he past 100 years life expectancies have risen from the 50’s to near 80 – pretty much everywhere.

3 things are responsible for this.
Antibiotics, Antiseptics, and IV fluids – blood, plasma, even saline.
These are today affordable everywhere in the world.

All the remaining medical advances in the past century have barely moved the needle of life expectance.

    2. “THEY ARE NOT TO LAY TAXES AD LIBITUM”
      _________________________________________________

Please CITE the Constitution for a legal basis to tax for and fund “US Global Health,” whatever the —- that is.

Article 1, Section 8, allows Congress to tax for ONLY debt, defense, and “general Welfare,” certainly immutably limited and restricted to an American context ONLY, not one of a “global” nature.

I have but one question: Are you out of your —-ing mind?
      _________________________________________________________________

      “Taxation”

“To lay taxes to provide for the general welfare of the United States, that is to say, “to lay taxes for the purpose of providing for the general welfare.” For the laying of taxes is the power, and the general welfare the purpose for which the power is to be exercised. They are not to lay taxes ad libitum for any purpose they please; but only to pay the debts or provide for the welfare of the Union. In like manner, they are not to do anything they please to provide for the general welfare, but only to lay taxes for that purpose. To consider the latter phrase, not as describing the purpose of the first, but as giving a distinct and independent power to do any act they please, which might be for the good of the Union, would render all the preceding and subsequent enumerations of power completely useless.”

“It would reduce the whole instrument to a single phrase, that of instituting a Congress with power to do whatever would be for the good of the United States; and, as they would be the sole judges of the good or evil, it would be also a power to do whatever evil they please.”

      – Thomas Jefferson

      1. Trump’s tariff-taxes (paid by American consumers) is the largest tax increase on Americans in over 200 years.

Trump’s attorneys violating decades and centuries of established case law is paid for by American taxpayers. Unnecessary and unconstitutional lawsuits paid for by us.

        1. Thankfully the army of IRS agents, armed to the teeth with weapons, hired for Joseph Biden Biden’s Politburo have been fired.

You should consider learning how to code considering your paid handlers are being investigated by DOJ and you might very well need to find another sugar daddy to take care of you. Hunter Biden might be interested but alas he is hiding in South Africa to avoid being extradited by US Federals for all of the crimes he and his comatose father committed- and that evil witch Jill

            1. “If Tariffs are so bad . . .”

If censorship is so bad, why do so many countries practice it?

        2. “Unnecessary and unconstitutional lawsuits paid for by us.” Yet, you had NO problem with TWO taxpayer-funded impeachments of Trump, and THREE tax-payer-funded special prosecutors with mega budgets and staffs to go after Trump, all for nothing. Don’t cry about taxpayers when you beg for all this other tax-paid trash, and you love it.

          1. “Yet, you had NO problem with . . .”

            Nice deflection.

It’s amazing how many fallacies some of you commit, in your maniacal attempt to defend Trump’s tariffs.

            1. Sam, why should anyone respond to you with fact when all you do is run away when facts are provided and never are able to discuss both sides of the coin? Dianna was responding to a person complaining about costs and was pointing out his hypocrisy, The fallacies are yours.

                1. No, Sam. not an ad hominem, let alone textbook. Don’t use big words until you look them up.

                  1. “not [sic] an ad hominem . . .”

When you attack a person (for his alleged hypocrisy), instead of his argument, that is ad hominem.

Try a logic class. If you can sit through one.

                    1. Calling out hypocrisy along with factual comparisons that reflect hypocrisy is not ad hominem, clown. And why the [sic] following “not?” perfect grammar, clown. You probably meant to put it after “an” because you object to it being used in noun form, but you, clown, used it the same way in your sentence, “textbook ad hominem.” (textbook serving as an adjective of ad hominem.
Be careful wiith your crticism, clown.

                2. Dianna was correct to point out his hypocrisy, and if it is a textbook ad hominem, it is well-deserved.

        3. Tariffs are taxes,.
They are a form of sales tax. Most every state in the country has sales taxes.
According to research by Obama’s Cheif Economic Advisor – sales taxes are the most efficient and least economically damaging of all taxes.

The Centuries of Case law is on Trump’s side. Pretty much every president has impossed some tariffs on some nation – Reagan imposed a 45% triff on Japanese and European motocycles. Since it was passed in 1977 the IEEPA has been used to restrict trade well over 100 times – each requiring the president to declare an emergency. Of all those IEEPA invocations, almost 50 of them are STILL active today – some dating to Carter.

Nor is the IEEPA the only legal authority the presidents have for raising tariffs.

    3. No your wrong. They will be responsible for Billions of deaths – atleast 25Billion deaths.
After all covid killed everyone on the planet.

You left wing nuts are complete dingbats.

Over the past 50 years the US hs given African over $1T in aide, and arguabbly Africas is WORSE off than it was before.
Inarguably Africa is actually worse off today that it was during the colonial period.

The left likes to Rant about Apartheid – But South Africa is a complete Basket case, where not so long ago it was the wealthiest country in Africa.

The best thing the US could do for Africa is Quit helping them.
Quit meddling in their affairs and let African’s figure things out on their own.
That is likely to work badly, but not so badly as with our help, further atleast then it would not be our fault.

Finally – to those of you on the left.

You have lied and lied and lied so much your noses have grown into redwoods, and only complete idiots beleive you.

    4. And it’s our responsibility to take care of the planet? Break out your wallet and leave the rest of us alone.

    5. * . A hypodermic in Africa cost is 1 dollar and in the US the same hypo is 1000 dollars. A billion dollars went to Africa. There aren’t a billion people in Africa.

Whose economy are you using , anon , for the 25 million lives and cost?

    6. *. Your statement regarding 25 million lives is absurd because much of it is for experimentation and research, anon. Over what time period?

Right now people are actually being purchased, bought and sold and you don’t know it. Chaos and a man in calif was just arrested for stealing 30 million dollars of covid money. He’s not uncommon.

Have a good weekend… mow the lawn.

  8. I hate this. The Democrats went too far going after conservatives. Trump went further going after liberals and Neo-cons. Biden went further. Now Trump is CLEARLY weaponizing government against people he doesn’t like. Fortunately Trump is totally incompetent, corrupt and will lose. But when the pendulum swings back the far left won’t be as incompetent as Trump is. And democracy hangs in the balance. But the Trumptards don’t care. They love every corrupt thing Trump does.

    1. I hate this too. This never ending back and forth swinging – turning every issue into a political football means nothing will ever be solved, no progress can ever be made.

      1. Government not making progress is a very good thing.

If only we could have govenrment accomplish nothing without spending trillions of dollars.

    2. Actually, so far it is just click bait on “X” or other message boards. The only ones inconvenienced is the fat chick house member who body checked an ICE agent. There are limits to how far you can push, she FAFO’ed. She will issue a heartfelt apology and that will be the end of it.
Who has Trump admin indicted yet? Our right facing press can sometimes be just as click baitey as yours!

  9. “Return to civility” was always a lie. Democrats have abused positions of authority to persecute conservatives for decades.

  10. Through much of my life it has been difficult to persuade people how dangerous the left is.

People seem to think that stealing for a good cause is virtuous, and as John Stuart Mill wrote no tyrant can be ass oppressive as your neighbors given power.

Today the full tyranny of the left is on display.

Trump has repeatedly threatened to punish those who “done him wrong” or otherwise abused power to the harm of individual rights.

And the left is threatening to impeach and prosecute him and everyone close to him over differences in policies that return liberty to the individual.

Trump is investigating all over and finding lost of misconduct.
But most of us grasp that Comey, or Garland, or the myriads of others in government who abused power will not be prosecuted.
And those few who did so incredibly egregiously will not go to jail.

Yet, Manafort went to jail. Papadoulis went to jail, Navaro went to jail, Bannon went to jail.

Arguably none of these committed crimes. Certainly they did not do something that Democrats ever get prosecuted for.

Comey and Garland and other lied under oath.

Some one – or several have been illegally and unconstitutionally acting as president for 4 years unknown to most of us. Now we learn that not only was Trump targeted by the Biden WH, but their actual campaign strategy was to defeat Trump by sending him to jail.

    1. But you support that Trump sells a meme-coin using his POTUS position to market it. Let’s hear your lame excuses.

      1. I do not support it.
        I do not oppose it.

No lame excuses. The president like everyone else can sell anything that is actually his to sell.

Selling a meme coin or a hotel room, or a round of golf is fine.

Selling the public power of the united states govenrment is not.

Everything Trump is doing is being done right out in the open. Everyone who chooses to buy something from Trump does so freely. Thjey are buyin real property with real value for market prices, and generally everyone has the same access to buy things from TRump.

What they are NOT buying is the executive power of the united states as they were under Biden.

      2. Just about every president, Vice president, cabinet officer, and WH staffer profits off govenrment service by writing a tell all book about their time in govenrment.

Frequently these books involve large upfront payments, but little in the way of actual sales.
They look and smell like payoffs.

But they are still legal and constitutional.

There is nothing hidden about what Trump is doing.
There is no secret quid pro quo. Everyone knows what they are buying and everyone has the same oportunity to buy it.

Buy Trump golden sneakers or not, your choice.
There is no force involved. no secret payoff.
And no purchase of public power.

  11. Their true colors are shining through.

These are not reasonable, fair minded people. They are radicalized, anti-American activists.

    1. Is that supposed to be something new? How is impeachments and prosecutions any different from their normal M.O. What laughable morons.

  12. How is it that both georgie and gigi always disappear at the same time or on the same days?

  13. Genuine questions for the Trump supporters here:

    1. Would you prefer that those of us who disagree with much of what Trump does and says NOT leave our responses and comments here?
    2. Do you have any interest in engaging with those who don’t necessarily agree with you?
    3. Has any conversation or interaction you’ve had with a non-Trump supporter ever changed your opinion on any particular topic?

Thanks, all. Genuinely appreciate your thoughts.

    1. We Trump supporters want to hear your opinions as much as your kind wanted to hear ours the last ten years. Use your own past barometer to measure our interest. I would say that would be less than zero.

      1. Both Trump supporters and far lefties are full of shit. It’s us centrists who better see reality and don’t wallow in politics every second of the day blaming all our problems on the gub’ment.

    2. Anon at 3:41pm

Do you do standup comedy for a living ???

The Trump supporters here do not seriously engage with anyone about anything.
All they do is hurl insults at anyone who opposes their views.
They all belong to the MAGA cult.
They are incapable of rational thought.
They come here for the sole purpose of making absurd statements criticizing the “libs”, and then they all congratulate each other about their “well said” comments.

I like to think of them as a Mutual Masturbation Society.
They get excited and orgasmic about each other’s “well said” comments.
But the poor, pathetic losers don’t understand that their mutual activity is not the real thing.
I doubt that any of them have actually experienced the “real thing”.

P.S. The comment by Glee, pretty much says it all.

      1. The observation about the denizens here constantly congratulating each other about their “well said” is correct.

Just use the “Find on Page” function to search for “well said”.

        You will not be disappointed.

        Mutual Masturbation Society indeed.

          1. See what I mean, Anon at 3:41pm.

            The really control themselves.
They are completely indoctrinated by the cult to hurl insults.

They are kind of like Pavlov’s dogs responding to the bell.

          2. What is lame about asking the questions or whether you would prefer NOT to hear counterarguments, Kirk?

      2. I appreciate you responding – I truly am genuinely curious about this. I think about this all the time. As in, “OK – what comes next?” So – if there is literally no opportunity to reach across the chasm – and no argument or position on any topic can find any foothold on the other side, then what comes next? This could be a literal ‘cold civil war.’ A country cannot run effectively, or maybe at all, with such an insurmountable schism.

        1. Anon at 4:50pm

          Your observation is correct.
It is very hard to say what comes next. At this point the MAGA cult is unreachable. No matter how bad things get, or how much damage Trump and the Republicans do to the country, the MAGA crowd will still support him.

Realistically, I think we just have to ride out the storm. Hopefully the judiciary will be able to apply the brakes to some extent, but I am not holding my breath.

I think the most likely scenario is that Trump and the extreme right wing members of Congress will eventually do enough damage and create enough chaos that more sensible and centrist Republicans in Congress will have no choice but to jump ship and join the Democrats to stop the madness. Hopefully that will signal the demise of the Republican party in its present form, and result in the emergence of a new Republican party more like the traditional conservative party of earlier years.

As I said, we probably just have to ride out the storm. Hopefully, a sufficient number of centrist Republicans will come to their senses and put a stop to this. The real question is how much they are willing to tolerate before they act.

I hope it is sooner rather than later.
The longer this goes on, the more difficult it will be to return to sanity.

          1. TOO LAZY TO HAVE A SCREEN NAME ANON??? I have no idea which ANON I am replying to. NO more reading ANON’S posts- or replying to them!!

            1. Kirk

Why does it matter WHO you are responding to ???
The content of the comment is what matters regardless of the author.

You should respond to the CONTENT not the author.
But unfortunately you never respond to the content.
You simply engage in abusive insults directed at the author.

    3. For 50 years I thought I was a democrat until I fully understood what the democrat party stood for and its not something that I want to be a part of. I’m all for open dialogue, but your side just wants to shout everyone down and never offers concrete proposals on advancing the country forward. All the democrats care about is power. When you fully see it, you can’t unsee it.

      1. Thank you for responding. Can you give me an example of where Dems broke a law, or abused some ethical standard to capture power? Asking genuinely as I’m trying to understand in your life specifically, where they lost your trust on this issue. Thank you!

        1. Declassified FBI memo sheds new light on Clinton’s fingerprints, cash on Trump-Russia probe
“The FBI determined that Fusion GPS — hired by Clinton’s campaign — likely served as a coordinating hub for creating several bogus Trump-Russia dossiers, and noted an unusually cozy relationship between Fusion GPS and the Department of Justice.”
          https://justthenews.com/accountability/russia-and-ukraine-scandals/declassified-fbi-memo-sheds-new-light-clinton

    4. “Genuine questions for the Trump supporters here:

      1. Would you prefer that those of us who disagree with much of what Trump does and says NOT leave our responses and comments here?”

I absolutely want to hear what you have to say.
You serve as the canary in the coal mine. When you make credible arguments, then I will start to worry about Trump.
The weak, debunked, illogical and most of all hypocritical and projective arguments you make are what assures me that there is nothing to worry about.
If there was – you would be able to do better.

“2. Do you have any interest in engaging with those who don’t necessarily agree with you?”
I desparately want to engage with intelligent arguments from those on the left.
I am highly disappointed at the incredibly poor quality of the arguments from the left.

Do you think Calling everyone you disagree with a Nazi, a racist, sexist, hompophobe, is something anyone wishes to “engage with” ?

Make better arguments and we can have a disscussion.

I would also note from exerience those on the left do not “engage”.
They throw grenades badly and run away.
They do not debate, they do a poor job of pointing out the weakenesses in their oponents arguments and they rarely bother to defend their own.

And after being presented with facts that challenge their views, they ignoore them y for a day and repeat the same nonsense all over as if thye had never heard how bad their claims were or that they ignpred reality.

“3. Has any conversation or interaction you’ve had with a non-Trump supporter ever changed your opinion on any particular topic?”
Absolutely. Throughout my life good arguments have caused me to rethink my views.
In the distant past I have been liberal and at other times conservative.
I am libertarian today because of the weakness of the arguments of the left and the right.
And because of the excellent arguments made by libertarians.

I would note – YOU frame this about Trump. But it is not.

There is no political candidate I have ever agreed with completely.
What I do KNOW is that growing deficits are very bad.
That government growing faster than GDP is very bad.

“Little else is requisite to carry a state to the highest degree of opulence from the lowest barbarism but peace, easy taxes, and a tolerable administration of justice: all the rest being brought about by the natural course of things.”
      Adam Smith

      Trump is far from perfect.
      But the alternatives are worse.

The negative impact of more government on prosperity is documented through modern history, throughout the world.

If you want to have a discussion, a good starting point would be not choosing to be deliberately blind to facts.

      1. Anon at 3:41pm

Note how John Say starts out saying he wants to engage and hear what you have to to say.
Then he immediately launches into a tirade of criticism and abuse of your presumed views before you have made them known.
He refers to “The weak, debunked, illogical and most of all hypocritical and projective arguments you make” before you have made any comments or arguments.

He then makes the truly astounding comment:
“Do you think calling everyone you disagree with a Nazi, a racist, sexist, homophobe, is something anyone wishes to “engage with” ?
Make better arguments and we can have a discussion.”

He accuses you of making outlandish claims about people with whom you disagree, and says you have to make better arguments before he is willing to engage.
Of course you made no such claims about “everyone you disagree with” and you made no arguments. You simply said you disagree with Trump.
John Say simply leaps to a completely unjustified conclusion about your views and launches a personal attack.

All you said was that you disagree with much of what Trump says and does. That’s it.

But that is enough for John Say to launch into a lengthy and abusive tirade, accusing you of comments that you never made. He is part of the MAGA cult, and all he needs to hear is that you don’t like Trump. He hears that comment, and like Pavlov’s dogs responding to the bell, he launches into a pre-programmed conditioned response of personal abuse.

He ends the tirade by accusing you of “being deliberately blind to facts”, simply because you said you disagree with Trump.

All this from someone who starts out saying he wants to engage.

These people, like John Say, are unreachable.
Rational discussion and engagement is impossible.
They are members of a cult with a Dear Leader who can do no wrong.

        1. Easy to see (for anyone with a good analytical brain) that anony@6:50 has been in wait for someone to fall for his proffer. It reveals more about him/her/it than it does the respondent. A poorly-planned but gleeful “trap” that backfired.

          1. Hmmm !!!!!

How exactly did it “backfire” ????

You say that it is clear to anyone with a good analytical brain, that I have been waiting for someone to fall for my “trap”.

John Say has fallen for my “trap” as you put it.
By YOUR reasoning John Say must lack a “good analytical brain”.

For the record, I am not Anon at 3:41.

        2. “Note how John Say starts out saying he wants to engage and hear what you have to to say.”
Correct. I did not say that meant what you have to say would not be stupid.
In fact I said that because what you have to say is often stupid, that reassures me that there is nothing to worry about. Even stupid arguments serve a purpose.
They suggest the absence of good ones.

“Then he immediately launches into a tirade of criticism”
          Criticism IS ENGAGEMENT.

“and abuse of your presumed views before you have made them known.”The commenter specifically referenced disagreements with Trump. There is nothing wrong with presuming the author means what they say.

That said – I did not for the most part assume specific views. I pointed out that in the real world the arguments of the left are attrociously bad.

You are making the assumption that this commenter is a unicorn.
I merely assumed givern the lack of evidence that such unicorns do not exist.

“He refers to “The weak, debunked, illogical and most of all hypocritical and projective arguments you make” before you have made any comments or arguments.”
Of course the commentor has made comments or arguments – he has self identified as anti-Trump. There is nothing unreasonable about taking him at his word.

“He then makes the truly astounding comment:
“Do you think calling everyone you disagree with a Nazi, a racist, sexist, homophobe, is something anyone wishes to “engage with” ?
Make better arguments and we can have a discussion.”

He accuses you of making outlandish claims about people with whom you disagree,”
Please learn to read. What I ASKED was if the commentor thought that anyone would engage with those who lob absolutely ridicuolous insults.
What I pointed out was that few have any interest in engaging with those whose idea of argument is extremely nasty ad hominem.

The nasty ad hominem that is typical of the left.

What I asked laid a framework for engaging with this anti-trump commenter.
Behave civilly and rationally and make intelligent arguments and we can engage.

That SHOULD be something that does not have to be said.

Unfortunately I can not find a single left comment on this site that is civil, rational and makes intelligent arguments. Certainly that fault is not exclusive to those on the left.
But unlike left commenters here – there are many on the right whose posts are NOT exclusivley irrational nasty ad hominem that fails under its own weight.

“says you have to make better arguments before he is willing to engage.”

While that is an excellent statement , it is NOT mine.
          I am engaging with YOU.
Your arguments here are stupid., and deliberately deceptive.
Your arguments presume the existance of unicorns.
Please identify the anti-Trump poster that is civil, rational, factually accurate, or even just ONE of those things ?

“Of course you made no such claims about “everyone you disagree with” and you made no arguments. You simply said you disagree with Trump.”
Correct, and I pointed out to the commented that I would be happy to engage with him if he is the unicorn. If he is the anti-trump poster that is civil rational, and accurate.

You are engaged in innumerable logical fallicies.
You have presumed that my observations about the abysmal quality of left wing nut arguments, which is why they get very little engagement was a targeted remark presuming knowledge of the poster rather than an accurate description of pretty much everyone on the left.

Perhaps this poster is the unicorn. But we have no evidence of that todate.

You have made numerous false assumptions – presuming that my criticism of the arguments (or lack of) made by those on the left, were criticisms of the poster,
rather than a rational framework for engagement.

“John Say simply leaps to a completely unjustified conclusion about your views and launches a personal attack.”

False, I did not attack the poster. I correctly attacked the left.

“All you said was that you disagree with much of what Trump says and does. That’s it.”
That is alot. Please find me that unicorn. Find me that rational poster that disagrees with much of what Trump says and does ?

“But that is enough for John Say to launch into a lengthy and abusive tirade”
An attack on the lunatic left.
If you choose to self identify with those being attacked – that is your problem not mine.
If you choose to self identify with those being attack – then the attack is correct.
If this poster is “the unicorn” – I would be ecstatic to hear what he has to say.

“accusing you of comments that you never made.”
NO, I pointed out that on this blog, as well as through much of the country those who “disagree with much of what Trump says and does” are lunatics – specifically because of what THEY DO AND SAY.

“He is part of the MAGA cult”
This is a bizzare argument. I voted libertarian.

At the same time I will point out that much – though not all of Trump’s agenda 57 is very libertarian.

Further MAGA means “Make America Great Again”
That is an absolutely beautiful slogan – who can disagree with it ?

“all he needs to hear is that you don’t like Trump.”
No the poster said that he disagrees with most of what Trump says and does.

You left wing nuts can not even read your own remarks.
Please engage your brain before typing and read what you post before hitting post.

I do not care if you like or dislike Trump.

This is a legal blog, posts are NOT supposed to be about your FEELINGS about specific people. They are supposed to be about the constitution, and the law, and the facts arround constitutional and legal issues.

As I pointed out – none of us EVER get a candidate that perfectly reflects our views.

To paraphrase Churchill – Trump is the worst possible candidate for president – except for the others (though I would take either Gary or Jo Jo Johnson in a heartbeat).

Who you like – or I like is NOT relevant.

What is relevant is the law, the constitution, the facts.

Socialism would be wonderful – if it worked. It does not – not in theory, not in practice.
I do not argue for things I like. I argue for things that work.
With Trump I often argue for the lessor evil of bad choices.

I live in the real world. I am not going to get the president I want.
But we have managed to get the least bad of the likely choices.

” He hears that comment, and like Pavlov’s dogs responding to the bell, he launches into a pre-programmed conditioned response of personal abuse.”

Actually the pavlovian response is yours.

“He ends the tirade by accusing you of “being deliberately blind to facts”, simply because you said you disagree with Trump.”

Once again you misread what was written.

          What I wrote was

If you want to have a discussion, a good starting point would be not choosing to be deliberately blind to facts.

That is not an accusation, it is a recomendation, or a condition.

        3. “All this from someone who starts out saying he wants to engage.”
The gist of my post – which went right over your head is that engagement is NOT a right.

If you wish others to engage, your arguments have to be worth engagement.

          1. John Say,
            Great comments!
And you are absolutely correct about having a argument being worthy of engagement.
I can have real discussions with moderate, traditional JFK Democrats, like my sister. She can make a good argument from a moderate, traditional JFK Democrat point of view.
However, she also laments that it is the far leftists whom have highjacked her own party with the stupid and crazy. The majority of her moderate, traditional JFK Democrat friends feel the same way. She has had several people, Democrats, tell her, her thinking (i.e. moderate, traditional JFK Democrat thinking) was “wrong.”
That is the difference between a real conversation and the woke leftists we see here on the good professor’s blog everyday. Nearly all the various annonys do not bring forth a discussion or argument worthy of comment. It is mostly TDS garbage. And it is not my or others fault the annonys cannot bring forth a legit argument.

        4. ATS – you are absolutely correct that YOU can not reach me.

That would be because YOU can not engage in rational, logical discussion.

You are correct that my reply was critical of the left – criticism that the left has Earned.
You would be correct if you had said that my reply stated that engagement was conditional.

But that is not what you said.

You went off on a typical left wing nut rant. Mistating the facts, obviously misstating what I said.

It is likely that you took my post personally – because it did target idiots like you.
Your reply is exactly why those of you on the left are not entitled to engagement.

You duck real discussion. You argue about arguing, about feelings – usually wrongly,

You conflate insulting you for your actual stupidity and inability to make an intelligent argument, with YOU calling everyone who disagrees with you nazi’s racists, sexists, homophobes, ….

I doubt the original poster was serious – those of you on the left constantly fake seriousness and sincerity – though your fakery is pretty shallow and does not hold up long.

For all most of us know – YOU are the original poster – one of the problems with anonymous posts.

You claim I know nothing about the original poster. But when you post as anonymous – or under multiple pseudonyms changing several times a day – as pretty much all you left wing nuts do, you create the situation where you are not knowable, and therefore respondents must generalize.

My criticism that you identify as targeting the author was specifically of the lunatic left.
Was it also of the author ? I do not know – as you point out, I do not know the author. He might be a unicorn. Or he might be part of the lunatic left, in which case the attacks are justified. But in the off chance the author is an actual unicorn – then go back and read my reply.

My criticism was of the lunatic left.

YOU are the one assuming that I attacked someone who was NOT a lunatic left wing nut.

I allowed the author to identify as he pleased.
But I made clear that if he identified as part of the lunatic left, then and only then were my criticisms targetting him.

        5. “They are members of a cult with a Dear Leader who can do no wrong.”

ATS that would be the left.

I am not aware of anyone not on the left that bought the collusion delusion nonsense.
I am not aware of anyone not on the left that bought the “very fine people” hoax.
I am not aware of anyone not on the left that bought that the Hunter Biden laptop was russian disinformation.
I am not aware of anyone not on the left that bought that Biden was competent.
I am not aware of anyone not on the left that bought that Biden was running the country the past 4 years.
I am not aware of anyone not on the left that thinks that the absolute disasterous mess that Biden’s and the left made of our Southern border was a good thing.

I am libertarian. I support broad immigration. But I do NOT support lawless chaos.
Do you understand that the lawlessness of the Biden administration is the CAUSE of dramatic increases in lawlessness of those taking advantage of his bad border policy ?
Do you understand that his policies destablized further an already unstable Mexico that is teetering on the edge of becoming a Narco state ?
Do you understand that he created the conductions that resulted in thousands dying on the way to the US. or being raped and exploited allong the way.
Or being expoloited as they arrived ?
The mess you made is not merely bad policy – it is EVIL. And resulted in actual evil to people.

I am not aware of anyone not on the left that thinks that the deporting criminals – rapists and gang members is not a good thing.

I can go on and on and on – nothing above even touches YOUR stupidity regarding Covid.

Can you name something you have been right about ? Anything ?

People do not support Trump blindly or because they think he is perfect.
But because hands down he is better than any left wing nut no matter what the issue.

          1. John Say

            You are profoundly mentally impaired.
Your interminably long obsessive ranting in response to a very simple question indicates profoundly delusional thinking.

Your rants here tonight are completely incomprehensible.
You drift off into bizarre completely disconnected thoughts that are completely irrational.

You are in serious need of professional help.

Does anyone else agree with my assessment?

            1. No.
John Say’s comments are spot on. He displays logical, rational thinking. His comments are worthy of reading. I do.

< 1. Would you prefer that those of us who disagree with much of what Trump does and says NOT leave our responses and comments here?
NO. But the Leftist comments should have substance and argument sufficiently with citation.

< 2. Do you have any interest in engaging with those who don’t necessarily agree with you?
Most of the time YES, However it is a waist of my time by those only out to capitalize my time then No.

< 3. Has any conversation or interaction you’ve had with a non-Trump supporter ever changed your opinion on any particular topic?
Rarely, The topics surrounding 'Constitutional Framework' are particularly interesting subject matter for ripe augment.

Jonathan and Darren Smith, Kristin Oren and Hartwell Harrison, spend an enormous time creating content for this website.
The Abusers whom use the forum to; badger, sniper, misdirect, the comment section to destroy the efforts of these 4 Individuals that have worked tirelessly is hard to swallow.

It has become obvious that some of these offenders are deliberate in their actions. An observation: a Comment is made that is, worthy, substantially weighted and supported, will get deliberately buried by nonsense comments so deep as to push it under pages of comments.

Another observation is that it appears that when a Post reaches Pacific Standard Time (PST) the comment Abusers have had their Latte and are up & running to bury any worth comment made by the Right-side.

Darren could reverse the order of which comments are posted, the Oldest on Top and Latest on Bottom, which would give an advantage to the East Coast, but as it is now the West Coasters hold that advantage. Of which is part of the problem.

Honestly, a Subscription or Pay Per Comment is a solution for this. Limiters will not work because some Abusers employ Proxies and other Technology to circumvent the Blog filter.

If Jonathan were to consider 'calling it a day' and shut the blog down,
      1. I would not blame him.
      2. There are other Platforms the Team of 4 could move to (i.e.: Bluebird)
      3. There will always be at least two sides to an augment, Civility can not always be maintained.
If this 'experiment' should come to an end, then a lesson on: 'The State of Free Speech' will have been learned,
and a conclusion on the merits of a Comments section can be offered as conclusive proof that Open-Air is not respected enough to maintain Civil discussion.

TO: Jonathan and Darren Smith, Kristin Oren and Hartwell Harrison – Thank You for your Time
You have never 'capitalized' my time, and I appreciate any time I may have 'capitalized' yours.

      All the Best.

        1. * . The dems are a one trick pony, second rate, and will remain so.

It’s a free country and it’s what has been chosen and chosen for all. So be it…

          Maybe next time…

    6. genuine debate over facts that are falsifiable are welcome.

but the problem….is that the left has this certain flair for pretending not to know certain things.

like a man is a man and a woman is a woman.

like biden was installed, the election was defrauded because a small group driven by greed and power needed the power of the office of the president of the United States to dole out trillions of dollars that went……where did it go? no one of the left seems to care about where all that new green deal money actually went to. find just one NEW kilowatt of energy produced from any of the money. I dare you.

like gain of function …is just another word for military industrial bio weaopons. none of the left seems to care to know that not a single animal among thousands tested in wuhan have been demonstrated to have ANY artifacts of C-19 virus. That means the zoonotic excuse has zero merit. and yet, you have this primary military and us funded SARS virus lab that was experimenting on RATG-13 using state of art serial line passage methods to attain long incubation, highly infectious mutations…twin furin cleavage sites, not found in ANY wild type corona bat virus, not even SARS 2013 or mers! Couple this with the blind obedience to take a novel gene therapy drug unproven safe or effective in two 90 days miracle human trials where the control group was spiked!. not a single lefty seemed to care to notice these things.

like murdering little human beings in the womb and celebrating it as some kind of triumph…with glasses raised and making great parades to rejoice over the “right” to kill little human beings.

genuine debate is welcome here. But we have to start accepting that there is a certain lack of character and integrity with lefty people. it’s worse than a cult. it’s base animal behavior. When we start to see lefties actually seeing reality for what it really is and not what they want it to be. then we can have legitimate discussions.

when that will happen? probably never. at least not in this generation. in this generation, anger and self hate is the rhythm. and apparently its being dispensed by the commie media your morning cup of koolaid.

no thanks. I’ll continue to hold you all to account for being embeciles…it’s entirely up to you to grow up and face the world as it really is.

  14. Wouldn’t it be something if the dims try to impeach Trump and he ended up with a third term.

      1. * I can think of better choices than I’m always on family vacay Vance. Doesn’t he have a job? Public relations i guess.
