Dem Rep. Balint Under Fire Over Insulting Claim About Undocumented Immigrants

There is a curious narrative emerging from Democratic politicians and pundits in support of the millions of undocumented persons who entered under the Biden Administration: they are perfect for menial tasks. Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D., Texas) even argued that we need Hispanic immigrants to do things like pick our cotton. That seemed to echo the sentiments of Rep. Jerry Nadler (D. N.Y.), who warned that, without undocumented workers, we would not have anyone to pick our crops. Not to be outdone, Rep. Becca Balint (D., Vt.) opposed the efforts of the Trump Administration to close the border and deport unlawful immigrants because “we’re not going to have anyone around to wipe our a–es.” I wonder why Democrats are losing Hispanic voters.

Rep. Balint told Vermonters that  “we all know our ag system in Vermont would collapse without labor.” She maintained:
“If we don’t have avenues for people to come here legally to work or to build a home here, I’m going to be really crude right now, we’re not going to have anyone around to wipe our asses – because we don’t have enough people in our country now to fill the jobs that we have right now…”
Balint is not the only Vermont politician raising eyebrows this month. Vermont has become ground zero for socialism with the rise of Sen. Bernie Sanders.  State Rep. Teddy Waszazak, D-Barre, seemed ready for the central planners this month when he declared

“Right now, our system is rigged against working people, our poorest neighbors, and the most vulnerable members of our communities. I feel very strongly about this — I feel the need to say this. The market picks winners and losers — it is the job of the government and tax code to right-size that.”

“Right sizing” the market has led to some of the most disastrous federal subsidies and programs in history. It is really not the “market” picking winners and losers. It is the aggregate of individual customers that is choosing products and services that they want.

On Sanders’ official website, a then-21-year-old Waszazak was shown professing how the American dream is dead, disputing the claim that “if you work hard, if you go to school, you will eventually be able to buy a house, have kids, and have whatever job you want to have… And I don’t think that’s true at all today.”

It is a crisis of faith in our system that is evident in calls to trash the Constitution, pack the Court, and counter the free market.

  1. Musk has been balancing $421 billion in net worth, multiple global corporations, drug use, and families.

You don’t imagine that Musk has been volatile from the outset, do you?

Musk must be treated carefully and tactfully.

Musk needs to be treated with kid gloves.

People should just let him run; he speaks for and about himself rather well.

No response is necessary, just let him go.

    1. You cite all of Elon’s obligations – noting his net worth – which comes from the creation and successful management of atleast a trillion dollars in businesses.

If Musk is injecting laundry detergent and still doing what he is obviously successfully doing
      WHY SHOULD I CARE ?

That 421B is HIS money if he wishes to make choices – in himself or in those businesses that you disagree with – crete your own 421B of companies and make your own choices.

  2. Greetings MAGA chucklemonkeys

I am conducting a short survey.
Trump says that Musk knows more about the “Big Beautiful Bill” than anyone else.
Musk says that is false. He never saw it

    One of them is lying
    Which one is lying ????
    Respond below.

Of course I don’t really expect a response from the MAGA chucklemonkeys.
I expect 2 types of response.

!. Semi-literate tirades of abusive insults.
    2. Long creative, but completely insane, explanations of how they are both telling the truth.
I am particularly thinking of John Say, who will undoubtedly come up with a 50,000 word treatise, complete with pictures, diagrams and footnotes that conclusively proves that both are telling the truth.

    Have at it chucklemonkeys.

I know you won’t disappoint me
    You never do.

    1. This response is short, sweet and to the point. Response #3

Army drill sergeant Sherry said never assume anything, never say you’re sorry and always remember that shit stinks!

      1. Thank you for your response
However I believe you are mistaken.
It is really response choice #1

    2. Why do you think there is an issue here ?

      Both can be right.

The OBBB is both necescary and the most that is politically possible at the moment.
It is a step in the right direction.

It is also far short of what is necescary. We MUST do more.
      We MUST do better.

I fully support passing the OBBB – though I do not support everything that is in it.
It is also far short of what is necescary.

      I fully support Musk’s criticisms

And I hope that he funds midterm challenges to all the congresmen – Republican and Democrats who are impediments to cutting government spending Farther.

In the meantime there is a recision bill that will be adding approximately 10B in additional cuts

AGAIN this is far too little, But Pass it regardless and come back and do even more.

Get every bit of spending cuts you can while you an.

Both Trump and Musk are right.
      We need this
and it falls far short and we need more.

Separately I would ask – where are democrats ?

Is there absolutely no government spending that democrats are willing to cut ?

Draft your own legislation cutting spending. Put forth your own recision bill.

It should be trivial to get enough reublicans to go along with any cuts to spending that democrats propose.

Or does the democratic party univerally beleive that Bloated government is a good thing ?

I would note that Musk is NOT the first person to lead a federal government effort to cut waste fraud and abuse.

Obama ordered a similar effort in 2012 and put none other than Joe Biden in charge – likely why nothing happened.

Regardless Trump and Musk do not in perfect sync. GREAT the debate is good for all of us.

    3. ATS – why is anyone obligated to answer you or explain reality to you ?

Despite your idiotic claims, what is occuring is occuring in public where everyone can see.
WE do not need you to pretend that we owe you an explanation.

I gave you my response – not only are both things true.

But frankly this conflict benefits Both Trump and Musk and the country.

Musk is pushing ALL in congress to cut more

      PLEASE, PLEASE DO.

In doing so he is undermining those in Both Parties that seek to do much less.

I want the OBBB to pass. If Musk successfully gets even more cuts into it – I fully support that.
I ALSO want it to be followed by LOTS of recision bills.

Cut everything that can be cut, and then come back and cut more.

  3. The Democratic Party is infested with the vilest vermin. They fabricate lies to obfuscate truth, they accuse other of that which they are, and they surely must be nocturnal because they can’t see a sunny horizon. How they ended up in this spiral to the bottom I haven’t a clue, I just hope there’s trampoline at the bottom.

  5. Regarding a crisis of faith……

Democrats are now telling us it is acceptable to act like right-wing white supremacists, and hurl insults and demean Haitians, lesbians and black women, but especially if the racist, homophobic, xenophobic insults come from anonymous sources:

Karine Jean-Pierre is leaving the Democratic Party. Her former White House colleagues have some thoughts

“Everyone thinks this is a grift,” the first former official said of Jean-Pierre’s book project.

Jean-Pierre’s former staffers offered withering criticism of what they see as an opportunistic grift.

One Democratic operative who worked with Jean-Pierre prior to her White House tenure called the sudden turnabout “the most grift-y thing I’ve seen in a long time, and that’s saying something in Washington.”

Presumably Jake Tapper was protected from such hateful comments because he is a white Jew. And yet we were were told by the Left that Jews were Zionists who deserved to be killed.

Even James Carville is now an anti-semite and is making dog whistle statejents re: Jews:

Next we will be learning that Elon Musk and Donald Trump are insulting each other, and that Hakeem Jeffries is going to dox all ICE agents involved in immigrant roundups, even as Hakeem’s poll numbers sink faster than the worth of Hunter Biden’s art paintings.

Who will Senator Charles Schumer threaten next ala “six ways from Sunday at getting back at you”?

  6. “…It is a crisis of faith in our system that is evident in calls to trash the Constitution, pack the Court, and counter the free market…” -JT

Well then take a look at Congress. They’re just glorified Purchasing Agents for Wall & K-Street that rack up Trillion Dollar budgets leaving beyond Trillion Doller deficits year after year. Of which None are held accountable, because They are ‘Congress’. The Congress that is a major branch of the Constitution hence the “calls to trash the Constitution”.

Another branch of the Constitution, the SCOTUS is failing to condone Congress for it’s ‘Lapse of Duty’ to server the People. Hence Multi-Trillion Dollar Budgets that do not address the People are a “Theft of Service” that the SCOTUS fails to address, resulting in another “Theft of Judaical Service”, thus the call to “pack the Court”.

And the Executive Branch, has been reduced to rubble by the Deep State Insiders and The Fourth and Fifth Estate. Powerless to do anything to right the wrongs.

Yeah, so screw it, There’s nowhere else run. “It is a crisis of faith in our system that is evident …” .

    1. Elsa,

      I’ve often had this thought:

Some major clothier should make a set of suits, pant-suits, dresses, etc, for the members of Congress, judiciary, and executive branches, enblazened with the logos of the various corporations, special-interests, NGOs, etc, each is known to be beholden to. Then, on national TV, this clothing would be presented to each individual. This way, Americans could see exactly where each person’s loyalties lie.

The great Benjamin Franklin once said the following: “This [the U.S. Constitution] is likely to be administered for a course of years and then end in despotism… when the people shall become so corrupted as to need despotic government, being incapable of any other.”

If we’re not already there, we’re hurtling towards it at warp factor 9.

      1. “This [the U.S. Constitution] is likely to be administered for a course of years and then end in despotism… when the people shall become so corrupted as to need despotic government, being incapable of any other.”

        PRECISELY! HOW VERY ASTUTE!

The Constitution was administered for a course of years and then ended in “Crazy Abe” Lincoln, who threw out the law, suspended habeas corpus, forcibly imposed martial law, started a war, killed one million Americans, subjugated America and its fundamental law, and turned it all over to those consumed with “Progressing” to the current despotic government of communism.

    2. Well then take a look at Congress. They’re just glorified Purchasing Agents for Wall & K-Street that rack up Trillion Dollar budgets leaving beyond Trillion Doller deficits year after year.

It’s telling that the enemies that come to your mind are the targets of the Democrat Marxists i.e. Wall street. Not the chosen recipients of wasteful, abusive, and federally unnecessary Democrat spending.

That Congress also dumps money into the pockets of public sector unions like SIEU, private sector unions like the Teachers, activist groups, the enviro-Nazis “green deals”, funding bankrupt Democrat cities and states and their social engineering and vote buying programs.

The idea that this horrific spending is primarily diverted to Wall Street is a Democrat Marxist’s Christmas dream that Americans will come to accept the lies they push to create this alternate reality.

There’s waste and abuse that certainly goes straight to “Wall & K-Street”. But as just one example, what happened to the years of Republicans running for office vowing to throw out Obamacare?

And when they had the votes to do it, did those Republicans throw Obamacare out? No, they did exactly the opposite and continue funding it just as Democrats did.

Why? Easy: because those Republicans realized the Republican voters that put them in office ALSO wanted “free health care” and would vote them out of office if they did repeal Obamacare.

    3. Make a distinction between economic and political systems. The dems are as Max Watters said–> its all that we have referencing grift, fraud, theft as Musk was attempting to cut it and modernize.

  7. Musk has been balancing $421 billion in net worth, multiple global corporations, drug use, and families.

  8. SQUIRREL!–Trump announced travel bans to divert attention away from the Big Ugly Bill that will increase the deficit and enrich the richest among us at the expense of the poorest among us and the in-fighting among Republicans over the cuts to Medicaid and Medicare, school lunch programs and SNAP benefits. Poor kids are supposed to go without food and health care to enrich the Elon Musks. Then, there is the feud with Musk, his court losses, the roller-coaster economy he is causing because of his ego, his disasterous polls, higher prices and upcoming shortages and polls showing that Republicans who thought their seats were safe may be in for a big surprise. But, Turley still has to write something as a diversion away from all of these things and to find a way to criticize Democrats–the disciples need their daily affirmation.

    1. *. There may be a valid point here^^, anon. The welfare subsidies wouldn’t be necessary if people earned more. All people except those receiving welfare pay for the welfare. Supposedly this helps keep inflation down.

Yes, a very serious look at the economy needs doing and that includes imports and exports and off-shore production as tax havens.

      I’m not qualified.

  9. Speaking of illegals and jobs. Texas, the most anti-illegal immigrant state in the nation. Won’t force private companies to use e-verify to make sure workers are not there illegally. Why? because they need those workers and they know they won’t be able to replace them as easily.

Who runs these businesses? Republicans and supporters of the Texas governor. They really love their cheap labor in Texas. So much that they are willing to look over the illegals working in their companies unless ICE raids their businesses. Seems they don’t really want to deport illegals as long as they are useful in making a profit.

  10. Yikes! Musk is calling Trump a liar? Did he finally realize it or is he done with the BS he’s been subjected to like everyone else?

Republicans may be dealing with Musk supporting other candidates that are against the awful bill. He has the money and influence.

MAGA’s will turn on Musk like rabid dogs, as expected. Nobody criticizes daddy Trump, nobody.

  11. OT

    DOXING IS ILLEGAL

“Every single ICE agent who’s trying to hide their identities will be unsuccessful in doing that. And every single one of them, no matter what it takes, no matter how long it takes, will, of course, be identified. That’s what’s going to happen.”

    – Rep. Hakeem Jeffries

    1. He and Boston mayor Michelle Wu are inciting violence against federal officers carrying out their law enforcement duties. They both should be in jail.

      1. AI

        Examples of Illegal Doxing:

        – Publishing someone’s address with the intent to harass them.
        – Revealing someone’s personal information to encourage them to be harassed.
        – Using doxxed information to impersonate someone and steal their identity.

        In Summary:

Doxxing itself is not always illegal, but it can become illegal if it’s used to target individuals and leads to other criminal activities. The legality of doxing depends on the specific circumstances and the intent of the person doing the doxxing.

    2. Sounds like another publicly-elected representative inciting violence towards the federal government again, but as always in a way where he can claim plausible deniability. “Oh I said something like that, but I didn’t expect people to actually act on it!”
      -Rabble

  12. OT;

Trump makes claim he had a “good productive” conversation with President Xi. Nope. You can tell he didn’t get what he wanted and seems to have understood the fact that Xi has quite a bit of leverge against Trump. He’s not bad-mouthing the Chinese because he knows he will upend any chance to come out sort of in a good light.

The moron in Chief will soon cave, as he usually does, and gain nothing from the trade war he created. What an idiot.

  13. Turley– “I wonder why Democrats are losing Hispanic voters.”

    Tongue in cheek of course.

We have a number of Hispanic and Asian friends and they are disgusted with Democrats for the same, sane reasons the rest of the country is.

      1. Hispanics are illegal aliens.

President Eisenhower shipped them out through Operation Wetback in 1954, and those criminally who invaded America subsequently, and their descendants, were NEVER “subject to the jurisdiction thereof” or citizens of the United States.

The situation is not dissimilar to the Supreme Court acting retroactively by 50 years in 2022 to strike down the irrefutably corrupt and unconstitutional Roe v. Wade of 1973.

  14. I believe I mentioned this on a prior occasion, but the Democrats are concerned that enforcing immigration laws is a slippery slope that will lead to other laws being enforced.

    https://babylonbee.com/news/liberals-warn-enforcing-immigration-law-is-slippery-slope-that-may-lead-to-enforcing-other-laws

Congressional Democrat leaders urged caution in the enforcement of long-existent laws that prevent foreign nationals from entering and residing in the United States illegally, citing the risk posed by setting a dangerous precedent of prosecuting other people for committing different crimes. “This is a perilous road to go down,” said Senator Chuck Schumer. “Today, you’re talking about enforcing immigration laws to keep Americans safe. The next thing you know, you’ll be saying we should stop letting people loot and pillage stores and homes as a form of social protest, or telling everyone that falsifying votes in elections should be prosecuted. That’s a precedent I don’t think we want to set.”

Other Democrats warned of a dire future filled with peace and safety if conservatives continued to take a hardline stance on wanting laws to be enforced. “Expecting people to abide by laws and face consequences if they violate them is unreasonable and dangerous,” said Senator Cory Booker. “What’s next? Are you going to propose wild, radical ideas that physical assaults should be prevented and people who break laws should be held accountable? That’s not my America.”

      1. The last sound we made as Lee surrendered and we took First Loser in the War To Save Democrat Slavery

I wonder if George sounds like that emulating the Democrat Kluxxer Yell.

To me it sounds like a feral cat in heat somewhere out in the back alley.

  15. Congress needs to quit worrying about who will pick our crops, and worry more about the catastrophic decline of honeybee populations – 60% in the past year alone. Unless we solve this problem, fruit and agriculture will collapse, Americans will go hungry, and illegals will have nothing to glean anyway.

    1. But we don’t get food from farms. I buy it in the supermarket!

  16. Nurse Diesel needs undocumented workers. I know you better than you know yourself.

  17. I’ve started a double column leader board. On one side is Trump. On the other side is a pile of dogsh!t. The leader board measures business acumen in “doing deals.” So far, since Jan 20. So far, Trump has one win and 35 losses. The dogsh!t has 8 wins and 27 losses. I’ll keep you updated tomorrow when the new employment report comes out. I’m hedging that Trump gets another loss and dogsh!t gets another win. But let’s see the data first. But, it’s looking like we should have elected the pile.

    1. Wait. Donald J. Trump is the President of the United States of America…

      and you’re here, Aninny.

      What’s that tell you?

    2. LOL. If only dogshit would have run as a third party candidate. Prolly would have won.

  18. Dear Prof Turley,

Pish-posh. Everybody knows the tip-top Democratic leadership all use fine French bidets, at least until Trump’s tariffs on French bidets takes a-hold .. . then they’ll be up Sh!t creek without a paddle, like the rest of us.

As the Most American, immigration, legal or not, is not even in my Top ten concerns.

Immigrants are no more prone to rape, murder and mayhem than any other red-blooded Americans. Or anybody else. There is no hostile ‘invasion’. With all the clear and present dangers facing this country, it (immigration) don’t amount to a hill of beans .. . and Trump et el are full of sh!t.
*note. I will say, if president Biden’s AutoPen invited all these people into the country, I fail to understand how they are now ‘illegal’? If you ask someone to dinner, you should feed them .. . within the bounds of wise discretion.

And ‘fixed fortifications’, like a Wall, ‘are monuments to the stupidity of man’. *Gen. George S. Patton

For over 200 years American has been whispered around the world as the ‘shining city on the hill’. The ‘land of opportunity’. .. I’ve always been proud of that.

    *that’s why they’re coming to America .. .

    1. Living in a manufactured reality, as you clearly demonstrate, allows you to avoid the ugly truths of Biden’s border invasion. As endless examples of heinous crimes continue to mount, you have the luxury of playing “make believe” and avoiding any responsibility for the victims. Law Enforcement clearly disagrees with that nonsense – feel free to ask. https://masscentral.com/venezuela-empties-prisons-sends-violent-criminals-to-u-s-border-says-dhs-report/
