“In the Spirit of Your Loyalty”: LA Citycouncil Member Asks Police to Warn Citizens of Federal Operations

There was an extraordinary moment this week in Los Angeles where  City Councilmember Imelda Padilla asked LAPD Chief Jim McDonnell to monitor and warn citizens whenever the federal authorities are conducting an operation or seeking to make an arrest. Padilla asked McDonnell if they could use “AI” and other means to give immigrants a heads up to allow them to oppose or evade federal law enforcement. McDonnell gently explained that Padilla was asking him to commit a crime.

In the June 10th council meeting, Padilla challenged McDonnell to be innovative and “find a creative way” to tip off the immigrant community. In the face of a clearly dumbfounded chief of police, Padilla explained that he needed to act “in the spirit of your loyalty to the city of Los Angeles.”

McDonnell delivered a measured response in the tone of an officer attempting to talk down a jumper from a tenth floor window ledge: “You’re asking me to warn you about an enforcement action being taken by another agency before it happens? We can’t do that.”

Padilla shot back: “why not!”

McDonnell keep his “I-know-you-are-upset-but jumping-will-not-help-the-situation” voice: “That would be completely inappropriate and illegal. That would be obstruction of justice. You might want to talk to the city attorney about that.”

Yet, that moment of sanity only seemed to irritate other residents of this insane asylum. City Council President Marqueece Harris-Dawson warned McDonnell that he should not refer to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement as “law enforcement partners”:

“If we know somebody is coming here to do warrant-less abductions of the residents of this city, those are not our partners. I don’t care what badge they have on or whose orders they’re under. They’re not our partners.”

Just to be clear, what the council member was asking would be a crime under both state and federal law. California Penal Code Section 148(a) states that obstructing, delaying, or interfering with a peace officer in the performance of their duties is a crime. Notably, Wisconsin Judge Lynn Adelman was just charged with obstruction and facilitating the escape of an illegal immigrant in assisting an individual to evade ICE.

The exchange captures the growing view that opponents to the Trump Administration are entitled to use any means necessary to oppose immigration enforcement and other policies. It is fueling the rage and the sense of license to commit even criminal acts for a higher cause.

  1. ICE teams should be forced to post their schedules and legal justification in every town they invade. It’s for their own protection actually…it won’t be long before a raid team will extend beyond their means and kidnapped.

States should be free to what they wish with the ICE plans after they’ve been vetted for legal justification.

  2. Wow. I can only imagine the chiefs face as this was happening. And then of course, as if on cue, the bystanders got upset because he said that was she was asking of him was illegal. Smh

  3. I would bet $100 that she didn’t do her homework in school either. If so, why such a ? ? ? question?

  4. I am seeing a lot of elected officials who, while elected, have little knowledge of the law. Even thou, once elected, they are required by oath to uphold the laws of the U.S. It goes to show just how ignorant so many of these elected ‘officials’ really are.

  5. Illegal aliens are community disorganizers, disruptors, a mode of Democratic gerrymandering, a model for labor arbitrage. That said, emigration reform to mitigate progress at both ends of the bridge and collateral damage throughout.

  6. American Federalism relies upon the maintenance of a gray zone between state police powers and the long arm of Federal Supremacy. Expanding a well-respected boundary one way inevitably produces an equal and opposite push. Stopping this requires an effort by both sides.

  7. Jonathan, you are referencing the wrong Wi judge in this article. The judge you referenced is the judge that is presiding over the case of the judge that got arrested.

    1. #9. Side stepping for a moment that the culprit is a bit long in the tooth for frat house hi-jinks, why would a statement from a “roomy” be conclusive? First, how does the roomy actually know that? Did the culprit tell him that? Does the culprit have any credibility factor issue here? Let alone his roomy…

He worked for and rubbed elbows with the Democrats under two Democrat Governor administrations, and at 57 years old he has two male live in roomy’s, where otherwise he gave the appearance of being a well respected, well trusted, corporate exec of some ilk, conducting governmental contract security related operations across the middle East interestingly enough, in just about every hot zone in the region including, Gaza.

So much for the exquisite character assessment done by the highest ranking Democrats running the state.

    2. And we are supposed to beleive this why ?

The pee tape was purportedly real
The hunter biden laptop was russian disinformation.
      masks purportedly worked.

Over and over the left and the media have lied to us.

I do not know what the truth is about this guys politics – except that what he did was very very wrong.
I do know that left wing nuts jumping to conclusions nearly always get it wrong.

I also know that the media has not identified him as a trump supporter and seems to beleive he was motivated by retribution for voting with republicans

The rest of what the media has reported is vague enough it can be intereted either way.

He purportedly was driven by abortion and had an abortion hitlist, but the news has NOT reported that the targets were pro-choice. ‘
Generally when the media does NOT jump to the conclusion that a killer is on the right, then he is nearly always from the left.

There is alot that is being hidden – like the trans school killer in Tennesee.

Generally when the press or police are hiding information it embarrasses the left.

Further while not dispositive this guys CV is NOT conservative.

He was heavily involved with NGO’s
he has a Phd in education.

How many Doctors of education do you know that voted for Trump ?

He had “No Kings” sings in his truck that looked like he was posting them.

ATS I would suggest you wait for more definitive information than some poorly sourced claim t by an alleged roommate.

My guess is that like many of these people – this guy was NUTS and was seeking noteriety.

  8. Today is the anniversary of Left wing terrorist, James Hodgkinson, a Bernie Sanders campaign worker, shooting several at a Congressional softball game in Alexandria, VA.

On June 14, 2017, a mass shooting occurred during a practice session for the annual Congressional Baseball Game in Alexandria, Virginia. 66-year-old James T. Hodgkinson shot four people, including then U.S. House Majority Whip Steve Scalise, U.S. Capitol Police officer Crystal Griner, congressional aide Zack Barth, and lobbyist Matt Mika.

    – Wikipedia

Naturally the Left would choose today, June 14, to terrorize the country with their performative anarchist “No Kings” activities and kill 2 Democrats in Minnesota. The alleged killer, a Tim Walz appointee, had “No Kings” flyers in his vehicle. Tim Walz has called ICE officers Nazi Gestapos.

“Today we speak with one voice to express our outrage, grief, and condemnation of this horrible attack on public servants. There is no place in our democracy for politically-motivated violence
    – Democrat Senators Amy Klobuchar and Tina Smith

  9. *. Isn’t it a crime to ask a law enforcement official to commit a crime especially by a superior?

      1. Milhouse, you are correct. However the Chief of Police, when he heard her suggestion said that he could not do what she suggested because if he did it would be against Federal and California state law. I understand, you wouldn’t want to take the time to learn the details be for you make a blather.

        1. * Crimes can be made to look innocent. In private with an envelope of cash would be bribery. Notice her loyalty usage? He remained loyal on the surface possibly, on camera. How could anyone seriously ask such a stupid question? It defies comprehension.

      2. She’s an elected official asking law enforcement to commit a crime? Elected official adds to the crime.

  10. Elsewhere someone commented that Democrats have not been this angry since Republicans took their slaves away. That comment is looking pretty prescient.

  11. In other news, the violent Dems have begun eating their own. A former aide to Gov. Tim Walz shot two Minnesota state legislators and their spouses in cold blood. One couple is dead, the other two are severely wounded. The perpetrator had “No Kings” pamphlets in his car.

Suspect identified in Minnesota lawmaker shooting had ‘No Kings’ flyers in his car
    https://justthenews.com/nation/crime/suspect-minnesota-lawmaker-shooting-had-no-kings-flyers-his-car
“Police are seeking Vance Luther Boelter, a former appointee of Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz, in connection with the shooting of two state lawmakers.”

    1. Which is odd, because that gives the Reps a temporary majority in the house, and a tie in the senate, which is the last thing any Democrat would want to do.

And no, these two had NOT strayed from the flock. Their votes to pass a Rep-sponsored bill were against their will, to fulfill a deal the two parties made. The Dems promised to supply the votes to pass this bill in return the the Reps doing the same for a Dem bill.

      1. Milhouse, this is pure bull. The bill that passed in the Minnesota House by one vote eliminated the state Medicare funding for illegal aliens in the state. The bill then passed in the Senate discontinuing Medicare for illegal aliens in the state. She was a Democrat. The Highway Patrol confirmed that her killer had No Kings handouts in the back seat of his car. Tim Walz in a recent speech said that Democrats needed to get tougher. He and you got your wish. Next stop for Walz. Speaking at a No Kings rally. I’m sure that he will wash the blood from his hands before the occasion. Will you do the same?

      2. Milhouse, how would a woman who was a state representative in Minnesota cause a tie in the Senate if she was killed? The bill discontinued Medicare for illegal aliens in the state. She paid for her vote with her life. You must be writing from DUHville.

      3. Milhouse – their votes were not against their will – no one used force. They were free to vote however they chose

These votes were not optimal for them, but they chose to sacrifice one thing they wanted for many others.
People make those kind of choices all the time.

Not getting everything you want is NOT “against your will”

  12. A couple days old, but I hadn’t seen this reported. From President Trump:

Our great Farmers and people in the Hotel and Leisure business have been stating that our very aggressive policy on immigration is taking very good, long time workers away from them, with those jobs being almost impossible to replace. In many cases the Criminals allowed into our Country by the VERY Stupid Biden Open Borders Policy are applying for those jobs. This is not good. We must protect our Farmers, but get the CRIMINALS OUT OF THE USA. Changes are coming!

    1. And subsequent to this announcement, the following email was sent out by Tatum King, a senior official at ICE.
“Effective today, please hold on all work site enforcement investigations/operations on agriculture (including aquaculture and meat packing plants), restaurants and operating hotels,”

Apparently, all those “criminal illegal aliens”, who are willing to put in a hard days work doing the hard dirty jobs that Americans refuse to do, are now “very good long-term workers” who need to be protected.

The hypocrisy of this administration never ends.

They have suddenly realized that all the farmers and hospitality industry titans who voted for Trump, are now suffering badly because their workers are being deported.

Trump now has no problem with undocumented workers employed by people who vote for him.
He has no problem with his supporters who actively break the law to employ undocumented workers.

      HYPOCRISY !!!!!

      1. During the campaign he told voters his priority would be on removing the criminal element first. There were tens of thousands of convicted rapists and murders that “Joe Biden” let in. The voters heard that message, and voted for him, giving him an election win. How is he not acting consistent with his campaign promises?

And it seems to me your emphasis is solely on finding supposed “hypocrisy” in the actions of a person you hate, and that hatred has poisoned your soul. You are more concerned with your twisted little hatreds than with caring about the victims of violent crime, fentanyl trafficking, child sex trafficking, and the harm to the lower-class worker’s wages. Your part will stand up for Abrego Garcia, a wife-beater, human trafficking illegal alien, but it won’t stand up for a brave 13-year-old boy who has fought brain cancer. Your party will stand up for men beating the crap out of girls in women’s competitive sports, and invading their private spaces, and depriving them of scholarship opportunities that they have worked a lifetime for, but it won’t stand up for fairness and protecting women.

        1. Prioritizing the *more* criminal element (have you not been among the posters here reminding us that illegal immigration is a crime in and of itself?) is fine. That is not at all the same thing as declaring amnesty for particular groups of immigrants based on their alleged employment category. With a few exceptions and reservations, I have generally supported what Trump has done up to this point. But barring some coherent, rational explanation of how immigrants who work in agriculture and hospitality are profoundly different in nature from all of the others, and of how that difference absolves them of their failure to become legal immigrants seeking to become naturalized citizens, I find this to be indefensible hypocrisy. My assumption, until and unless that satisfactory explanation materializes, is that some individual or group, that most likely doesn’t give a rat’s a$$ about what harms or benefits the people of this country as long as their narrow interests are served, got to Trump.

          1. have you not been among the posters here reminding us that illegal immigration is a crime in and of itself?

No, I have not. Illegal immigration by definition involves violating the law. But I think anyone with a pulse and two functioning brain cells can understand why it is sensible for the government to prioritize the deportation of the criminal element first, especially violent criminals.

Again, your focus seems to be on some abstract, highly moralistic notion of avoiding “hypocrisy” rather than actually doing the practical things that make life safer and better for Americans. Good luck with that.

            1. OMFK you are smarter than this post and fully aware of the wrath held and executed by those in deep State and in implementing election interference via census. Is election interference against the law both state and federal law that ultimately skews elections by turning a civil crime , illegal entry, into a federal crime as election interference and worse?

Perhaps PT’s title Age of Rage should be Age of Wrath.

            2. *. Dept of Commerce v. New York was an attempt to get at the surge that had been and increased under Biden. The citizenship question would have provided some idea of how many non citizens are being claimed causing an increase in dem representation both State and Federal. The suit lacked transparency and both sides argued incorrectly. The method used by dems is not addressed as found by scotus.

              It’s critical.

          2. It’s very simple. Violent criminals, the kind ordinary people care about deporting, are not shoveling sh*t on farms. They’re not doing honest work of any kind. The ones doing that are not criminals, and ordinary people don’t care about deporting them. So enforcement operations should not be happening where people are being productive and doing honest work, regardless of how they got here in the first place. Go look for the robbers and rapists and murderers and drug dealers, and deport THEM before worrying about anyone else.

            1. Trump is the first president in a long time that is actually doing what high-level government officials are supposed to do: taking action to enhance the safety and welfare of the citizens he governs. That has become so unusual that when it happens, irate Trump-haters twist themselves into a knot with fury about some abstract notion of “hypocrisy” that has little connection to the quality of anyone’s life.

              1. During my college summer breaks, I worked with a Catholic agency that provided childcare and kindergarten education to the children of migrant workers. Since I was the only bi-lingual staff member, I was often asked to accompany law enforcement into the agricultural fields to look for mostly fathers, who had committed crimes, translate and try to let them know there were in trouble with the law as well as placed their children in danger of being orphans. I was also the teacher of their children, so it was an awkward but important role.

It’s not easy coming to this country not knowing the language, having little education, having no family/friends, and being desperate to provide for your family or realize your goals. Coming here legally is far easier because the person can prepare ahead of time and not be on the run hiding. But sometimes, these folks come here illegally, turn to crime, whereby they were farmers during the day and criminals during the evening, until they got caught. then someone like me had to rescue their butts or inform them of their consequences. Their children and wives suffered the most because they were abandoned when the men were on the run, were thrown in prison or deported.

Anyone is capable of violent crime, even an alien agricultural worker.

                1. Estovir

                  Stupid, ignorant and bigoted comment.

There certainly are criminals on American farms.
                  No doubt about it.
The REAL CRIMINALS are the farmers themselves.

It is a violation of 8 USC 1324a to knowingly employ undocumented aliens.
The penalty is a $3000 fine per worker, and up to six months in prison.
It is simply not possible to UNKNOWINGLY employ an undocumented worker.
A documented worker must have a SSN. This can be verified in minutes by eVerify.

                  So you are absolutely correct.
If you are looking for CRIMINALS on a farm, look no further than the farmer himself.
Maybe ICE should spend their time rounding up these criminals.

              2. “irate Trump-haters twist themselves into a knot with fury about some abstract notion of “hypocrisy” that has little connection to the quality of anyone’s life.”

You’re just bull$h1tt1ng to cover yourself now. First, I said that I had supported most of what Trump has done. So much for being a “Trump hater”, eh? Second, you completely failed to address my reasonable request to identify how illegals employed specifically in agriculture and hospitality differ in kind (including penchant for violent behavior, drug distribution, participating in rioting, among other attributes) from illegals employed in other businesses. Regarding hypocrisy, unfortunately it has become and inevitable part of politics and government. However, it can be analyzed to indicate who and what a particular politician actually serves, which is all to infrequently the electorate in general.

            2. Really? Look up Juan Corona as a beginning, Millhouse. Illegals don’t report crime. It’s highly dangerous second only or equal to the dangers of the homeless, the unhoused I think is the euphemism because the street is their home? Dangerous because commonly schizophrenic are house less.

          3. * Amazing, anon, someone put that point into words. Yes, the argument that farm hands cannot be legal immigrants for some reason? Is there a coherent reason?

          4. This is not amnesty, it is prosecutorial discretion.

Trump openly campaigned on prioritizing the deportation of violent criminals.

You can support deporting farm workers and hospitality workers, Or you can oppose it.
You can be angry with Trump for sticking with his priorities,

But Trump is not acting differently from what he has repeatedly said.

He has also repeatedly said he wants MORE legal immigration.
Which the US absolutely does need.

We want legal immigration because we want to KNOW who we are allowing into the country.

Many of the pro Hamas violent protesters that are being deported were here legally.

Given a choice between them and an illegal farm worker – lets end Visas for ProHamas students.

The farm worker issue is weird – it is my understanding that the US has and has had a temporary worker program specificially targeting areas like farm work where we can not get citizens to do the work. That seems reasonable. They are NOT “immigrants” they are true “migrants” they come to work and leave when the work is done. That sounds reasonable to me.

So we should be seeing MORE of that – but only in areas where there is a true shortage of workers.

      2. Reduce unemployment benefits by two-thirds and give the able-bodied American citizens that are collecting unemployment benefits a reason to go out and do these jobs.

        1. There are very good reasons why farmers and meat packers are forced to employ undocumented aliens.
Americans refuse to do the filthy jobs.
How many Americans would be willing to take a job in the Midwest where you have to get up at 4.00am when it is 20 below, and go milk cows who do their best to sh!t on you while milking them.
Then you have to spend hours literally shovelling sh!t out of the milk shed.
How many Americans are willing to take jobs picking crops in the Central Valley of California, when it is 102 degrees and 95% humidity.

If you get rid of the aliens, there will be no Americans to take their place.

          1. Allow temporary workers in and allow them to go home when their work is done.

Temporary workers must never be provided a “path to citizenship” or be allowed to vote.

            1. Anon at 7:26

There are already H2-A temporary work visas available when employers can’t find Americans for the jobs.
So why don’t these employers go this route ????

              Very simple !!!!

If the employer brings in such LEGAL temporary workers, then he has to do the following:
              Pay at least minimum wage,
              Pay for worker’s comp.
Provide safe and sanitary housing for the workers at no cost to the workers.
Provide transportation to and from the worksite at no cost to the workers.

All this costs a lot of MONEY.

The employers prefer undocumented workers, who will work for slave wages and have to provide their own housing.
So the real problem is the employers who WANT undocumented workers.
Of course it is a CRIME to employ undocumented workers, but Trump is not interested in pursuing THOSE CRIMINALS
And these are the same employers who are whining about ICE deporting their slave labor.

              HYPOCRISY !!!!!!

              1. You really don’t know what you’re talking about. You heard that msm. You have not been on a farm in your life.

                1. Here are the requirements that employers must comply with for H2-A temporary workers.

                  https://www.dol.gov/agencies/whd/fact-sheets/26-H2A#:~:text=Housing:%20Employers%20must%20provide%20housing,be%20operated%20by%20licensed%20drivers.

                  https://awlabor.com/guide-to-housing-wage-transportation-and-food-requirements-for-h-2a-visas/

I forgot to include that employers must provide 3 meals a day as well as housing and transportation at no cost to the workers.
You are the one who does not know what he is talking about.

              2. You’re saying there’s endentured servitude in the US perpetrated BY IMMIGRANTS. NO ONE IS A SLAVE EXCEPT HUNGRY PEOPLE? Citizens can’t go home. They are home.

Who traffics the illegals? Who trafficked the slaves? Same people. It’s not what you think. It’s like the man who shot dead aman looking a thief and then the people were asked who stole the money and all fingers pointed at the dead man.

              3. So employers are at fault for providing jobs to people who are willing to take them given the working conditions and the pay ?

All you are doing is point out why these laws are stupid and were prior to the left forcing the administrative state on us unconstitutional.

None of these people are “slaves” – they are CLEARLY hetting paid more than in their country of origen – otherwise why would they come and why don’t they return ?

I would further note that in many may instances while employers “know” these people are illegal immigrants,
Generally the employees provide forged documents.

One of the problems with you left wing nuts is that you make criminals out of ordinary people for failing to act as law enforcement to enforce YOUR stupid laws.

The minium wage laws were originally enacted to deprive BLACKS of jobs.
They STILL function to preclude low skilled people from being able to get a job – and nearly all of them are minorities.

You rant about the hypocracy if farmers, but you fail to graps YOUR OWN.

None of your laws work as you intended – yet we are stuck with them.

A plethora of left wing nut laws DESTROYED the emergent black middle class, destrotyed the black family, and are in the process of destroying all families. You made generations of minorities into government dependants and stole the dignity that comes from taking care of yourself, that is critical to self improvement.

When you put large numbers of people on “the dole” without stigma, you obliterate their reasons for ever getting off.

All jobs are not worth the same pay, some jobs are not worth the minimum wage, That is just reality.
                But any job has dignity.

And all jobs are a CHOICE, not slavery. Very few jobs are a persons PERFECT choice.

I own an apartment building, I spent yesterday scrubbing years of caked on $hit off a toilet that a tenant refused to clean.
Was that my PREFERED choice ? Absolutely not, but someone had to do it, and no one else was going to.

              4. You talk about Dairy farmers – I do not know about the entire country – but there are massive numbers of dairy farmers in my community.
Probably half of them are Amish. Their kids do the work you describe.
Even of those who are not amish – typically the kids do the work.

We have tens of thousands of dairy farms – my county provides milk and many other agricultural products for much of the state.
We do not have illegal immigrant farm workers.

                1. John Say

Why do you persistently just make sh!t up
                  You have absolutely no credibility.
Stop listening to the voices in your head.

You claim, with regard to Lancaster Co. PA
“We have no illegal farm workers.”

After an immigration audit by the feds at Kreider Farms in January, about 100 workers were found to have invalid documentation and were terminated.
Kreider Farms, a milk and egg producer in Manheim, Lancaster County, was not fined as a result of the I-9 employment eligibility check, Turner has said, and no employees were arrested.
                  https://lancasteronline.com/news/dismissed-kreider-farms-workers-disappear/article_8289bf9f-567f-50ee-bd26-4a5cdc692a60.html#:~:text=A%20barn%20along%20Temperance%20Hill,immigration%20policy%20dysfunction%2C%20Rader%20said.

According to the American Immigration Council, Pennsylvania is home to approximately 155,000 undocumented immigrants, with 20% specifically employed in agriculture. But those 30,000 make up half the workforce who pick our produce, process our poultry and enable our thriving dairy industry.

                  1. More for John Say

Our agriculture business, a business which includes many undocumented workers, as highlighted by a bill supported by Congressman Smucker who agrees that undocumented workers are a vital piece of our farm community that deserve a path to citizenship, is the cornerstone of what makes Lancaster County such a beautiful place to live.

Dairy farmers across the commonwealth employ immigrant labor to an extent that most citizens do not realize. In general, the agriculture industry is heavily dependent on immigrant labor, which makes up 18 percent of Pennsylvania’s workforce in the areas of farming, fishing and forestry

                    1. Yet more for John Say

The Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture has estimated that nearly half of Pennsylvania’s crop farm workers, roughly 30,000 people, may be undocumented immigrants,https://penncapital-star.com/labor/the-labor-shortage-

              5. Be careful what you wish for.

In many of the fileds were illegal immigrants rpovide significant portions of the workforce. the threat possed by govenrment raids is enormous.

It is NOT just that these people can be prosecuted for employing illegals, it is also that raids completely disrupt their businesses.

As a consequence you can look at trends in farming as an example and we are rapidly automating one of the most difficult to automate businesses.

Why ? because the market dictates the price – not the farmer, but going to jail or going bankrupt is not what most business owners sign on for.

When Government makes one way of doing business illegal they will shift to another. The left counts on that. That was the entire purpose of stupid left wing nut social engineering laws.

The problem is that people do NOT just change their way of doing business to what the left intended.
They change it to what works best for them.

So we are seeing a decline in farm jobs through automation.

Typical stupid ignorant question from a stupid and ignorant MAGA cult member.

Undocumented workers started coming here in the 1960’s and 70’s
This coincided with the end of Jim Crow. Up until then African Americans provided most of the farm labor, because they were repressed and this was the only work they could get.

With the end of Jim Crow, African Americans were able to get a decent education and make better lives for themselves. They abandoned farm work, moved to urban areas, and were quickly replaced by undocumented workers from Mexico.

It has absolutely nothing to do with Democrats or open borders.

              1. I do belive it was all them thar dagnabit hillbillies the ones you make fun of… them men from those hillbilly farms were generals WWII. whooda thunk it… when them hillbillies wuz done with WWII they came backun went ta work without a peep.

              2. I don’t mind saying you really are ignorant. I cannot abide what you have done to the honorable fathers, grandfather’s and greatgrandfathers of America’s sons and daughters. THEY don’t deserve it. I cannot abide the dishonor you heap upon the honorable.

You’ll need to leave now. Dishonorably discharged.

              3. “Typical stupid ignorant question from a stupid and ignorant MAGA cult member.

Typical stupid ignorant question from a stupid and ignorantleft wing nut cult member.

illegal immigration in the 60’s and 70’s was a tiny fraction of today.

Regardless who did those jobs in 2016 before Trump was elected ?
Who did those jobs in 2020 when Joe Biden was puppetted into the presidency ?

Biden increased illegal immigration atleast 4 fold over Obama and more than 10 fold over 2020.

There is no US need for 25-32M new farm workers of hotel maids.

“This coincided with the end of Jim Crow. Up until then African Americans provided most of the farm labor, because they were repressed and this was the only work they could get.”

Lets see from 1910-1970 about 6< blacks – more than half of southern blacks migrated to the north – for better jobs and other oportunities.
So clearly they were NOT represed and this was NOT the only work they could get.

Free markets work. Those of you on the left Constantly misrepresent Jim Crow.

Jim Crow was a serioes of GOVERNMENT imposed laws to restrict WHITES ability to engage in free exchange with blacks.
THAT is what actual repression looks like.

But as I mentioned in another post – the effects of social engineering by law – whether Jim Crow or minimum wagte laws is NEVER whot those doing it intended. Jim Crow empowered Blacks to look elsewhere for employment. Minimum wage laws lead to LESS jobs for blacks and minorities.

"With the end of Jim Crow, African Americans were able to get a decent education and make better lives for themselves. They abandoned farm work, moved to urban areas, and were quickly replaced by undocumented workers from Mexico."
You have things backwards. Jim Crow ended BECAUSE it failed – BECAUSE blacks moved elsewhere, Because Blacks improved their education.

I would note though the path for blacks has been more delayed than other groups, there is a universal pattern.

Where there is freedom, as ONE minority moves to the middle class another replaces them.

The early Scum in the US were the Irish and Scotch, later the chinese, and italians, amd poles. more recently even more chinese and indians and central and south americans.

"It has absolutely nothing to do with Democrats or open borders."
The mess of the past 4 years absolutely did have EVERYTHING to do with democrats and open borders.
And NOTHING to do with a need for farm workers.

                1. ^^ no, it was the okies and arkies who were farm labor and it was after the dust bowl and the depression and before on their farms. The bracceros (sp) came in during WWII. and many did not go back home but hid. They never learned English, never naturalized and now as it continued you’ve got non citizen children.

Some went back and came in on visas and eventually naturalized as did their children. Some refused to naturalize saying they were born here although knowing their parents were illegal. It was they who skewed the immigration and not the US.

They knew better and were warned by naturalized citizens. Other immigrants came here intending to be citizens and learned the language and were sworn in as good citizens in quick time.

That’s the simple truth. Not even green cards or marriage was a replacement for citizenship and yes, they knew it.

You people know it because you’ve spoken of it.

                  Israel is at war.

              4. “This coincided with the end of Jim Crow. Up until then African Americans provided most of the farm labor, because they were repressed and this was the only work they could get.” Who worked the farms in New England in 1500 ?
Who worked the farms outside of slave states in the 18th and 19th century ?

Another factor with regard to the south in the 20th century was foreign competition – though that effected the north as well.
The cotton grown in the south and converted to goods in the north moved OUT of the US to the rest of the world
This drove blacks north for employment.

            1. Thanks blog monitor for misplacing my comment. The above comment is out of place. The comment before that is true.

          2. Then you import the foods that aren’t machine picked and packed. Hopefully from non 3rd world nations omg. There’s no reason to have true migrants. Nothing is grown here anymore unless it’s mechanized. Put the engineers on it.

During the surge there are and were people coming from nations without passport functions. Omg. There were middle east people posing as Latin Americans. Bukele in el salvador is an Arab. Couldn’t tell by looks?

Lights out. Smoke em if ya gottem. 😂

          3. Japan has the third largest economy in the world. The Japanese people enjoy a high standard of living. They also have a strong social welfare system. It allows very little immigration. Who milks their cows. Who shovels cowsh!t? Who picks the crops?

            The difference is the culture.

    2. ” I hadn’t seen this reported”

I reported this hypocritical cr@p in the comments section of a couple of recent columns here:

YMMV, but Trump just jumped the shark for me, at least on the immigration issue:
Trump plans executive order to block deportations for farm workers
      https://justthenews.com/government/white-house/trump-plans-executive-order-block-deportations-farm-workers
I have become increasingly suspicious lately that some deep-state-type behind-the-scenes manipulators have found ways to work the puppet strings on Patel and Bongino, among others in this administration. But this action by Trump makes it appear very likely to me that he is also doing the bidding of some unelected powers, and that those powers might well have interests that do not correspond very well with those of US citizens. How the H** does this comport with *any* of Trump’s previous rhetoric on illegal immigration? Were illegal immigrants that labor for certain business sectors originally intended to be *less* illegal than the rest? Do illegal immigrants that are nominally employed by the agriculture or hospitality industries have some immunity to being recruited by MS13 or Tren de Aragua? Are none of the illegal immigrants currently rioting lawlessly and violently in LA employed in those industries? Maybe a reasonable explanation will be forthcoming for this shortly, but I’m not planning to hold my breath. For now, I am thoroughly disgusted!

      1. Did you kill Laken Riley? How about Rachel Morin? Or maybe Kayla Hamilton? Joycelyn Nungary? If not, perhaps you are planning to rape and kill some other innocent American girl. That would explain why you are so furious with Trump for going after the criminal illegal aliens and making America safer.

        1. ” That would explain why you are so furious with Trump for going after the criminal illegal aliens and making America safer.”

You either posted that to my comment in error, or you get an F- for reading comprehension. I suspect the latter.

      2. People working on a farm are not “nominally” employed there. They’re actually doing productive work — and no MS-13 or TdA people would be caught dead doing that. Criminals crim, they don’t farm.

        1. Criminals crim, they don’t farm.

Right. And lawyers don’t write legal blogs, physicians dont comment on political forums, housewives don’t fix cars and Democrats don’t kill Democrats.

      3. Do illegals working in farm and hospitailty have immunity to MS13 – generally yes.

Members of these central and south american gangs are recruiting in south and central america and brought to the US illegally along with farm workers and hospitality workers and myriads of other mostly law abiding illegal immigrants.

Gangs tend not to recruit in the US or out of the ranks of those who already have a job.

Even US gangs recruit from the unemployed.

      4. There are some illegals and some gang members rioting in LA,
But a significant proption of the rioters are White middle class or aboveyoung american left wing nuts.

While Biden’s immigration policies increased crime in the US, It is mostly not criminal illegals rioting. It is mostly not non-criminal illegals rioting.

It is primarly young (and some old) left wing nuts.

  13. she is AFRAID of evil.

the bible is very clear about this.

do not BE afraid of evil. Evil exists when you are GODLESS.

this person is not unique. There ARE millions (billions?) of people who have never wanted FOR NOR have PRAYED FOR God to INDWELL there souls. And BECAUSE of this, they despair. also a unique word…ancient in its description. “to abandon and make mockery of the one thing that makes us have CAUSE= Goodness…order, principle, faith.

this is my remark…my own opinion ..no one else.

what does YOUR soul, the spirit that LIVES within you, say to you?

    God Bless America

    1. * it is God who makes it known. I’ll remind you of the 2 criminals beside Christ– you could not know that unless my father told you.
