It is arguably the most disheartening aspect of the “Age of Rage.” Almost immediately after the shooting of Minnesota politicians and their spouses, the press, pundits, and politicians leaped to capitalize on the tragedy by blaming the other side for political violence. There is a sick, almost hopeful, quality to the commentary as political pundits hope that they win this round of the assassination sweepstakes with a criminal associated with the other party. Initial reports fueled such speculation on both sides. Some are now saying that Boelter suffered from “MAGA disease” while others are claiming that he is a “far left” goon. Still others insist that he is “a far right, MAGA, left wing loon,”
Both sides found just enough to weaponize the shootings. Vance Luther Boelter has connections to Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz, who reappointed him to a state board. He is also someone who reportedly voted for Trump and opposed the abortion movement.
As we have discussed, there is a rise in political violence in this country. From January 6th to attempted assassinations of both President Donald Trump and Justice Brett Kavanaugh, there is a radicalization that is occurring within our society. It is the license of rage that I discuss in my book where unhinged individuals believe that any means are now justified to counter a political threat.
The fact is that rage rhetoric has been common on both sides of the political spectrum for years. Politicians continue to fan these flames, including many who insist that democracy is about to die in this country, or call Trump the new Hitler. Leaders on both sides have called their opponents “traitors” and threats to the nation.
The fact is that we still know little about Boelter. He had “No Kings” literature in his car but that does not mean that he was motivated by those protests. We still do not know what is contained in a reported manifesto left by the shooter.
The only thing that is likely is that Boelter is another unstable loner who took his anger out on others. There are reports that he was in difficult financial straits and suffered a series of setbacks. He was the CEO of an international NGO called the Red Lion Group, which appears to have run out of funding. There are reports that he was holding a variety of odd jobs to sustain himself.
The fact is that we have a significant number of people who are mentally unstable or delusional. Anger in their lives is easily translated into a lethal obsession for public officials or public figures, particularly when leaders call on people to resist opponents labeled as traitors or tyrants.
The rush to claim Boelter as a devotee of the left or right only shows how these critics are engaging in the very rage rhetoric that they are supposedly condemning.
We should know the actual facts soon, including the contents of this manifesto. So here is a novel idea: perhaps we should wait for those facts rather than engage in this frenzy of recrimination and rage.
Ok, for those of you out there who are apopleptic about a 45 million dollar military parade on the 250th anniversary of said military, here’s a little factoid to consider:
At the current rate the US government spends money, it spends 45 million dollars precisely every 3.63783347minutes. In the grand scheme of things, that’s a raindrop in an ocean, so no need to get one’s panties bunched up over it.
Just saying…
Yeah, Ron, hope we got a good price on the military equipment “left” in Afghanistan.
OT
Now you know why Mossad took down the Twin Towers with controlled demolition on 9/11.
To bring the U.S. in.
Take down Iraq.
Clean out Afghanistan.
Convert Syria.
And finally eviscerate Iran.
Through 9/11, Mossad scrubbed up the entire region in one fell swoop.
Well played, Israel, well played.
Building 7 was also “pulled” after attracting a few drifting embers, right?
Prove it or STFU.
DUMB conspiracy theories you keep on repeating!!
The Minnesota delegation came out and condemned these. So lets not get too hasty.
Jonathan: I don’t expect either you or any of your loyal followers to have attended one of the 2,000 “No Kings” demonstrations around the country yesterday. Nope. What was I thinking. But as a public service I attended one of the four rallies around my medium size city in a “red’ state. And here is my report.
The rally I attended was the largest in the state’s history. And that’s saying a lot considering my state joined the Confederacy in 1861. The rally was entirely peaceful yesterday…from the very young to the very old. The Governor promised to call out the state’s National Guard to put down expected “left-wing violence”. Never saw the Guard. In fact there was no local police to be seen anywhere. There was a police helicopter circling the park where the rally was held for about a hour and then it left. I saw a small black drone moving back and forth over the park taking video. I looked up so it could catch my handsome face.
Almost everyone was carrying a handmade sign. “No Kings, no dictators” seemed to be the prominent theme. I took a photo of an attractive young lady and her sign that read “Chinga La Migra”. Another sign caught my eye because it had “MAGA” in big bold letters at the top. When I got closer the smaller lettering underneath read “Mexicans Aren’t Going Anywhere”.
In sum, the huge rally was more than I ever expected. It was big, loud and raucous with continuous chants of “The people united will never be defeated” and “Hey, hey, ho ho, Donald Trump has got to go!”. Chants I heard during demonstrations against Nixon’s Vietnam war. They never get old!
In contrast, what happened in DC yesterday? DJT’s big “Birthday” military parade was a flop. The event was designed to make the fearless leader feel good about himself. But C-Span video shows DJT with a sour look on his face. He looked out of place. That’s because DJT promised 250,00 thousand of his loyal supporters would show up. They didn’t. The bleachers along the parade route and the National Mall were largely empty. There were no cheering crowds. At times all you could hear was the sounds of tanks rolling down the street. No wonder DJT was glum. But why should he be? I mean the taxpayers are paying for the over $45 million price tag for the event. Right!
Several reliable news outlets are reporting that Antifa urged their members to attend and embed themselves and commit acts of violence being surround by fodder. Attending one of these was frankly dumb. Hope you didn’t bring along the kiddies like some of the idiots in my town.
DENNIS is that you?? An ANON now?
It certainly reads like Dennis – ludicrously stupid vague claims that are trivially refutable by the direct observations of ordinary people.
ATS – most of the reporting is that left wing nut protests this weekend except in LA and Seattle proved to be a fizzle.
Few showed.
Democrats are now claiming they decided to back away form the protests variously claiming that the Minnesota shooting or the fear of retaliation drove that.
Its not like anything is different than 2020 – except that FEWER people are protesting.
So we have you – and anonymous source claiming that there were big protests in your unspecified red city.
Is there anything of substance in your claim ?
What are you even reporting ?
Something happened somewhere sometime ?
I drove through my blue city in my red county in my purple state – many people were on the street – though not even close to ,any many other protests in the past.
But it was odd – many of those out were near the local convention center, or outside resturaunts, and they were very well dressed – suits and ties.
Turns out they were there for Fathers Day events – might have been a dozen people accross the streeet NOT for Fathers day – but no “no kings”.
So atleast here – yawn.
Personally I find the “no kings” protests laughable evidence of the delusions and projections of the left.
It is taking lots of legal effort – but slowly the democrat lawfare is being cleared from the board.
Trumps actions are being upheld by appeals courts, or the supreme court.
Trump is not doing anything lawless – But some lower court judges ARE.
Trump is however doing exactly what he promised throughout the election.
He is doing what the majority of people voted for – in fact far MORE people support Trump’s policies that support Trump.
Trump’s approval today is AGAIN 53% – where it has been for a week.
Trump’s approve has been above 50% – 80% of the time since the inauguration.
As to Mexicans Arent Going Away – I would not think so – illegal Mexican immigrants have been almost non-existent since NAFTA 30 years ago.
Trump’s approval among people of Mexican descent in the US is over 56% and the major reason is illegal immigration.
Not only are illegal immigrants threatening the jobs of Mexican Americans, they are also destabilizing Mexico and empowering Drug cartels and people smuggling.
“In sum, the huge rally was more than I ever expected.
In contrast, what happened in DC yesterday? DJT’s big “Birthday” military parade was a flop. ”
All of this is true in the alternate reality in which you live.
It is not however true in the real world.
Not only have left wing protests fizzled, But they have disappeared from the news as Israel and Iran go at it.
BTW the parade was not for Trump.
It was the 250th aniversay of the US military.
We will see many more 250th events – because the nations 250th birthday is coming up next year.
Maga, Mexicans aren’t going anywhere you say a sign said? No problem. You can have it. 😂 😂 and you got that 😂
Some of my family live overseas and yesterday I got a text about this story that was from CNN. My family say they are “scared” that we in the USA are on a “burning ship.” Maybe so, but I am not yet packing my bags.
I read through the CNN article and it was heavily left-leaning.
I would be scared also if I only saw the world through the lens of left-leaning (sometimes hard to the left) “news” organizations. These are the same people who brought us “Russia collusion,” Hunter’s laptop is a fake, 51 Intelligence officers, etc. etc. etc. This list is virtually endless.
Now it is expedient for those who consume information to regard all of it with some level of doubt and a “wait and see” attitude.
Sift, sift, sift……
E.M.
Any more, nowadays, I quote the immortal words of one Pontius Pilate — “What is truth?
Ben Shapiro did once tell a young lady, at one of his symposiums, that the way to figure out the truth was to read stories from both the Left and Right, and whatever overlaps in both, most likely is the truth.
George Carlin once oppined that New Hampshire’s motto was “LIve free or die” and Idaho’s was, “Famous Potatoes”. He said the truth was somewhere in the middle, probably a little closer to “Famous Potatoes”. Can’t really argue with that logic.”
John Fetterman:
This parade is comprised of our sons, daughters, mothers and fathers—the very best of us. Regardless of your politics, it’s appropriate to celebrate the 250 years of sacrifice, dedication and service.
Fetterman was booed by attendees at the “No Kings” rally in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Fetterman, who was elected to the Senate after surviving a debilitating stroke, was once a progressive darling but has since drawn the ire of his party for his views on Israel and immigration.

No surprise. Shots fired at Salt Lake No Kings protest. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=y8lUtazrGXc
Gamboa, a left-wing activist, showed up with a rifle. He raised it in a shooting position to inflict mass casualties, and was wounded by peacekeepers who successfully prevented that from happening. Tragically, a bystander was hit and killed. Isn’t that felony murder (embarking on a felony that leads to someone’s death)?

*. The dems are utterly out of control, running wild.

PosterS? Huh? One is a my ex-hippie grandma needed to get out of her depends fast and left it. Several is a campaign stop. Lots is a zealot on a mission.

A NO KINGS protestor was interviewed by CNN; she said she was both mad and sad at TRUMP. She then said “You better not make me mad; and you will see what happens”!
1,800 PROTESTS across America against Trump(NO KINGS) Shows how far the left is spreading their HATE!!
And hurting themselves
Yep, we know, Kirk. Presidents are elected every 4 years.
YOUR point?? Make it good. What does your post have to do with mine??
Indeed. We’ll wait for your industrial strength gaslighting on it, Turls.
MN murderer was a WALZ follower. Following orders. Sending a message about what happens when Democrats dare to vote with Republicans even once. Propaganda media blames Trump! Welcome to the world of Orwell and ‘1984.’
Anti abortion, registered republican. Throwback to the anti abortion bomber/murderers is most likely. Many pro women’s rights representatives on his hit list. But you guys like to try to blame right wing terror on other people.
He registered republican in 2022. He was a registered democrat before that. It couldn’t possibly be the negative rhetoric of the left got to him. I know thats one of fifty reasons I #walkedaway
How do you know he was a registered Republican? Minnesota does not ask for or record party affiliation when registering voters.
It is far to early to determine of this killer was anything more than a nut case as most of these people are.
There is conflicting reporting.
No only was he repeatedly appointed by democrats, but his wife was an Intern for Walz.
The “bipartisan” committee he was part of was mostly democrat and was pushing a democrat agenda – not a republican one.
He served on NGO’s in Africa, and was involved in many left wing – but not FAR left wing causes.
There is also credible, but NOT proven information hinting that he did NOT act alone. His wife was stopped with weapons, ammunition money and passports.
She was not arrested.
WE have SEEN the “No Kings” flyers in his car – they look like something he would be stappling to bulletin boards.
We have this allleged manifesto that purportedly is abortion related and has as purported targets other democrats.
But the public has not SEEN this manifesto.
It is ALWAYS highly suspicious when we get claims about a manifesto, but no actual manifesto.
Years later we learn the Trans school shooters manifestor was RADICALY different from what was claimed for years.
Efforts are made to bury anything that is damaging to the left.
REGARDLESS – Republicans have universally condemned this – ahead of questioning. Trump has directed Bondi and the FBI to throw the book at this guy and get t bottom of it. Contrast that to democrats after the UHC CEO shooting or the Trump assassination attempts.
No one on the right is supporting this guy REGARDLESS of where he stands politically.
That is NOT ever true of those on the left who constantly seek to justify violence.

The professor is certainly right about one thing, keeping your powder dry till the facts appear. If and when that happens. We’re all still awaiting the full story about two Presidential candidate’s assassination attempts to be fully divulged after all.
This story however is seemingly developing with some interesting twists and turns… Where’s that manifesto?
* . The photo with rubber mask and uniform in this article is weird enough. Dear god!
Turley, it’s called empirical conclusion. Anyone who understands data and trends, this should be an easy thing to do. This is following weird but predictable patterns of the butler attempted assassination! Smh
There is no such recognized term as “empirical conclusion.” The use of such can be understood, as in “an empirical research paper,” or an “empirical conclusion,” but it is not recognized or standardized nomenclature in any professional field.
Scared cat: “No such recognized term as empirical conclusion”
Also scared cat: its understood as “xy” or as empirical conclusion….
Ok
” . . . it is not recognized or standardized nomenclature in any professional field.”
Except in the professional fields of the physical and social sciences.
It denotes a judgment reached primarily on observation and experimentation, as in a conclusion based on the observation of students’ study habits.
Your claim is utterly bizarre because the term “empirical conclusion” has been standard fare in the sciences for centuries.
Update says Boelter ditched his car near his home and strangely his cowboy hat was by the side of the road. This indicates he thumbed a ride from a motorcyclist and at acceleration his hat blew off landing as found. Boelter is on cycle…
As a still relatively recent senior lay bigger picture JT commenter, I’ve been writing of some of the underlying causes of mass shootings for more than a decade, obviously now in-vain. First, I see the failure of most of US governance to ever recognize the tenets of the Preamble to the US Constitution as integral and inseparable at least, if not enforceable. Much, more recently, intentionally or not, a medical conspiracy from the early 1900s has led to a kind of externally imposed mass mental (minimally) disease among us; undiagnosed sub-acute food allergy reactions aggravated (or not) with FDA approved food poisoning.
In addition to my commenting with more details here-and-there as seen fit from time-to-time (generally in-vain), there is the “Home” page of my ad free video channel for others to reference, to start: https://odysee.com/@charlesgshaver:d?view=about. For more on now epidemic rage and violence, I think Mother Jones is a good source of relevant statistics: https://www.motherjones.com/politics/2012/12/mass-shootings-mother-jones-full-data/.
We are now two and a half generations into the bi-partisan medically and officially approved mass murder of Americans, regardless of what one’s personal beliefs are. Minimally, a few of the worst FDA toxic food additive approvals should be reversed as soon as possible. CGS
The Radical Left Lunacy continues when it suggests that this killer was a DT supporter… why would a DT supporter shoot the 1Democrat who voted AGAINST SUPPORTING ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION healthcare, etc….. such a stupid suggestion does not even qualify as a ‘red herring..’ even though it’s possible this was thrown out there to be one, to distance the killer from certain people he’s actually associated with there in MN…………….
The murderer had NO KINGS signs in his vehicle. He was a Walz acolyte and appointee. A bloody message was sent to show what happens to Democrats who vote with Republicans even once.
Democrats often register as a Republican because they want to vote in Republican primaries to help select the weaker candidate that can be beaten by a Democrat. How one registers to vote means nothing.
True – Minnesota has open primaries, meaning people can vote in the other party’s primaries:
https://www.ncsl.org/elections-and-campaigns/state-primary-election-types
He appears to be a single issue assassin. Keeping up the anti abortion assassin mantle. Right wingers can’t handle this truth.
If he is a single issue assassin – then why the no kings posters ?
If he is strongly pro-life – why is there no prior history of prolife activism ?
With the evidence we have so far this guy looks left of center – Are there ANY Ed Phd’s that are conservative ?
Regardless, his background likes MILDLY left politically.
He does NOT look at all like a person who would do this.
That leans towards recent severe mental health issues.
But there is also evidence – though not proof that he may not have acted alone – and people with mental health issues only very rarely work with others.
Regardless lots is being hidden from us,
and what we have for certain so far leans more left than right.
but more towards crazy than political.
