The Reveal: The Public is Finally Learning How Democrats Pulled Off the Greatest Political Trick in History

Below is my column in Fox.com on the release of the last declassified material on the origins of the Russian collusion investigation. After the release, former CIA Director John Brennan and former Director of National Intelligence James Clapper wrote in the New York Times insisted that they never relied on the Steele dossier. The column only reaffirmed the level of dishonesty and duplicity that marked their tenures in office. (The Times still printed this claim despite being demonstrably untrue).

The documents quote Brennan in overruling career analysts and intervening to include the dossier in the intelligence assessment. Moreover, the column echoes the media spin that the investigation was about an attempted Russian interference while dismissing the collusion claim that consumed much of the first term. (Even after leaving office, Brennan continued to push the false collusion claim). Both countries routinely hacked each other’s emails — that is why we have the most recent incriminating evidence on the Clinton campaign’s funding and spreading the false collusion claims. We hacked their emails. We have also regularly tried to influence the elections of other nations. The key to the dossier and the Russian investigation was the allegation of collusion and the central role of the Clinton campaign in creating the narrative that Trump was a Russian asset.

Here is the column:

This week, Washington was rocked by new releases in the declassification of material related to the origins of the Russian investigation. The material shows further evidence of a secret plan by the Clinton campaign to use the FBI and media to spread a false claim that Donald Trump was a Russian asset. With this material, the public is finally seeing how officials and reporters set into motion what may be the greatest hoax ever perpetrated in American politics. There never was a Russian collusion conspiracy. This is the emerging story of the real Russian conspiracy to manufacture a false narrative that succeeded in devouring much of the first term of the Trump Administration.

What is emerging in these documents is a political illusion carefully constructed by government officials and a willing media. The brilliance of the trick was getting reporters to buy into the illusion; to own it like members of an audience called to the stage by an illusionist.

The effort closely followed the three steps of the classic magic trick: The Pledge, The Turn, and The Prestige.

The Pledge

The trick began with the pledge, the stage where the public is set up by showing ordinary events with the suggestion that it is about to transform into something extraordinary. The key is to make something seem real that is actually not.

The Clinton campaign delivered the pledge by secretly funding the Steele dossier, using Fusion GPS and a former British spy named Christopher Steele, to create a salacious account of Trump being an agent of Russia. New emails state that Hillary Clinton personally approved the operation.

It was Elias who was the general counsel to the Clinton presidential campaign when it funded the infamous Steele dossier and pushed the false Alfa Bank conspiracy. (His fellow Perkins Coie partner, Michael Sussmann, was indicted but acquitted in a criminal trial.)

During the campaign, a few reporters asked about the possible connection to the campaign, but Clinton campaign officials denied any involvement in the Steele Dossier. After the election, journalists discovered that the payments for the Steele dossier were hidden as “legal fees” among the $5.6 million paid to Perkins Coie under Elias.

When New York Times reporter Ken Vogel tried to report the story, he said, Elias “pushed back vigorously, saying ‘You (or your sources) are wrong.’” Times reporter Maggie Haberman declared, “Folks involved in funding this lied about it, and with sanctimony, for a year.”

Later, John Podesta, Clinton’s campaign chairman, appeared before Congress for questioning on the Steele dossier. Podesta emphatically denied any contractual agreement with Fusion GPS. Sitting beside him was Elias, who reportedly said nothing to correct the misleading information given to Congress.

The FEC ultimately sanctioned the Clinton campaign and the Democratic National Committee over the handling of the funding of the dossier through his prior firm.

The Turn

The next step is the turning point when the ordinary becomes something extraordinary. This required the involvement of the government. The Clinton team worked behind the scenes to feed the dossier to the FBI. It would be the criminal investigation that would transform the ordinary accounts, like Carter Page speaking in Moscow, into an elaborate Russian plot. Even though the FBI was warned early on that Page was a CIA asset, not a Russian asset, the Clinton team found eager officials in the Obama Administration to assist in the illusion.

The newly disclosed evidence shows how the turn was made. In July 2016, Brennan briefed former President Obama on Hillary Clinton’s “plan” to tie then-candidate Trump to Russia as “a means of distracting the public from her use of a private email server.” The original Russia investigation — funded by Clinton’s campaign — was launched days after this briefing.

Months later, it would be Brennan who overruled his own CIA analysts in his ordering of a second last-minute assessment at the end of the Obama Administration in support of the Russian allegations. It would help make the turn with the all-consuming Russian investigation that would follow.

Career analysts were not buying the turn. They objected that the reliance on the Steele dossier “ran counter to fundamental tradecraft principles and ultimately undermined the credibility of a key judgment.” One CIA analyst told investigators that “[Brennan] refused to remove it, and when confronted with the dossier’s main flaws, [Brennan] responded, ‘Yes, but doesn’t it ring true?’”

That is the key to the turn; it needs only to be enough to fool the audience.

The Prestige

The final stage is called the Prestige, where the magician faces the toughest part of the trick. As explained in the 2006 movie “The Prestige,” the viewer is “looking for the secret… but you won’t find it, because of course you’re not really looking. You don’t really want to know. You want to be fooled.” However, “making something disappear isn’t enough; you have to bring it back.”

The difference is that this trick was designed to derail Trump and it worked. In the end, however, the Special Counsel and Inspector General both rejected the Russian collusion claims. The public then reelected Trump. Now, the prestige may be revealed by the CIA.

Reports indicate that the CIA is about to declassify material showing that foreign sources were also in on the trick. The information reportedly indicates that foreign sources were aware of the move to create a Russian collusion scandal and expected that the FBI would play a role in the plan. That was before the bureau launched its controversial Crossfire Hurricane probe. One source said the foreign intelligence predicted the move “with alarming specificity.”

The most recently declassified material shows that the Russian actors in 2016 hacked emails from the Open Society Foundations, formerly known as the Soros Foundation. The emails reveal a broader network of activists and allies who were aware of the Clinton conspiracy.

Leonard Bernardo, who was the regional director for Eurasia at the Open Society Foundations, explained that “during the first stage of the campaign, due to lack of direct evidence, it was decided to disseminate the necessary information through the FBI-affiliated…from where the information would then be disseminated through leading U.S. publications.”

Bernardo added, “Julie (Clinton Campaign Advisor) says it will be a long-term affair to demonize Putin and Trump. Now it is good for a post-convention bounce. Later, the FBI will put more oil into the fire.”

The media (including the Washington Post and New York Times, which won Pulitzer prizes for reporting on the debunked claims) are apoplectic in dismissing these disclosures. The last thing they will do is report on how they helped sell a political hoax. The problem is that they never said it was a trick. They said it was the truth. That is why they cannot honestly cover the story. To do so would not be coverage, it would be a confession.

It appears that everyone was in on the trick: the U.S. government, the media, even foreign governments. The only chumps were the American people. Now they are about to see how it was done.

  1. The only magic trick I ever pulled was in the entrance lobby of a local Kroger’s grocery, when I hurriedly attempted to grab a disinfectant wipe (for the cart handle) through a slotted container- and about 6 came out, each determinedly clinging to the next. Another customer started laughing and we both attempted to disengage/disconnect each wipe from the next with swift, snapping gestures, but on and on they came, like the handkerchiefs in a tall Top hat. We waited for the bunny or dove,(- maybe with a surprise $100 coupon?), but none ever came.

More seriously now, the good professor’s sequential display of unraveling events is truthful. But its gravamen is lost in the details. So some of us need a Cliff’s Note version, something like this:

    1. The Trump administration has declassified and released ADDITIONAL information that sheds NEW light on Democrats’ and media’s attempt to discredit Trump and prevent his election/re-election.
    2. True to form, Democrats and media characterize this as “old news” and point to the previous 2020 BI-PARTISAN report, led by now-Secretary Marco Rubio, a Republican.
    3. The NEW evidence reveals the hidden roles of Brennan, Clapper, Comey, Clinton, Podesta, Elias, and others in manipulating the truth and pulling the scarf over the eyes of American voters.
    4. The new evidentiary releases also reveal coordinated efforts with the Obama administration.
    4. True to form Democrats and media attempt to change the ISSUE from alleged Trump collusion (disproven and discredited) to Russia’s hacking and spying (deleting, as JT notes, that both countries engage in that, -and that Russia had also hacked into the REPUBLICAN campaign,- thus diluting their claim of one-sided promotion of Trump.
It is much more likely that Russia simply wanted to disrupt our system and create internal polarity and division.
    5. Media’s interest in clickbait, hyperbolic headlining and scandalous stories exacerbated the “polarity and division,” much to media’s pecuniary interest(s).

        1. I’m genuinely curious, why Pompeo? I know that he had some stupid statement on TV sometime after January 6, but is that all? Was it the aborted, possibly fake, presidential run trial balloon? It’s obvious that Trump has exiled him, but I’m not sure why exactly.

    2. Lin,
I would note to your point 2, Dems fight Gabbard’s disclosure with faulty Senate report that claimed Steele Dossier wasn’t in ICA
“Rubio is indeed the current Secretary of State, but although he was a Senate Intelligence Committee member, he was not leading the Senate committee in April 2020 when the ICA-focused report was released.”

Cornyn also said that “while we’ve known there was ZERO evidence of collusion” between Trump and Russia, “it’s become more evident that the entire Russia collusion hoax was fabricated by the Obama admin to subvert the will of the American people.”

Rubio, Cotton, and Cornyn released a statement accompanying the release of the fifth volume of the Senate report in August 2020, where the senators said, “The committee found no evidence that then-candidate Donald Trump or his campaign colluded with the Russian government in its efforts to meddle in the election. … After more than three years of investigation by this Committee, we can now say with no doubt, there was no collusion.”

      1. Hi there Upstate Farmer, glad you have not floated away, haha!
I was referring to Democrats’ and media’s argument that Rubio et al CONFIRMED “Russian meddling,” (not the collusion), What I was referring to was this statement by Rubio in 2020: “We found irrefutable evidence of Russian meddling,” Which is why Dems/media now focus on Russia involvement as “true” -while attempting to walk away from their alleged “collusion” allegations.
Sorry if I didn’t make that clear.

      2. ““Rubio is indeed the current Secretary of State, but although he was a Senate Intelligence Committee member, he was not leading the Senate committee in April 2020 when the ICA-focused report was released.””

According to an August 18, 2020 blurb on Mark Warner’s Senate page, at the time of the release of Volume 5 of that document, Warner was Vice Chairman, and Rubio was Acting Chairman. However, when Volume 1 was released, slightly more than a year earlier, Richard Burr was Chairman, and Warner Vice Chairman. Do you have a timeline of Rubio’s tenure and roles on the Committee that could be compared to the release of the successive report volumes?
        https://www.warner.senate.gov/public/index.cfm/2020/8/senate-intel-releases-volume-5-of-bipartisan-russia-report

    3. “2. True to form, Democrats and media characterize this as “old news” and point to the previous 2020 BI-PARTISAN report, led by now-Secretary Marco Rubio, a Republican.”

Speaking of which, how does Rubio get a total pass here? Does he deserve one? I don’t see any possible benign excuse for being responsible for the release of that report, along with Mark Warner, beyond either carelessness and/or stupidity (not mutually exclusive). Seems strange not to take a closer look at whether there might have been some other factor at play there…

      1. I may have answered my own question – see my reply to UF above, asking when Rubio’s role with the Committee was promoted to Acting Chairman wrt to the release of the successive volumes of that report. His statement on “Russian meddling” was at best intemperate, and probably political opportunism, but (unfortunately) not atypical of how our pols roll.

  2. The essential element to the success of this scandal/crime, the ultimate villain is hiding in plain sight and is still active today, making this a very current story. They are colluding, conspiring, cooperating, aiding and abetting all involved.

We can turn on any screen in our home, office, or wherever we are and witness their mass complicit corruption right now…

They are all well known to everyone: NBC, CBS, ABC, CNN, MSNBC, BBC, PBS, NPR, FOX, The Washington Post, The New York Times and their partners around the world. The responsible humans, fellow American citizens, hide behind the capital letters and mastheads. Hundreds, maybe thousands of people participated – or knew but closed their eyes to what was happening. Editors, producers, copy writers, camera people, graphic designers, make-up people, on-air “talent,” agents of the “talent,” accountants, administrators and office staff, CFFs, CEOs … Many had the audacity to call themselves “journalists.” The world acted surprised when NPR’s Uril Berliner wrote his revealing, insider’s essay. They all sang as if members of a giant choir ridiculing and demonizing any who hit a discordant note. Few, if any, blew the whistle.

The tragic irony is that their single job, their one responsibility, their reason for existing, the reason they are the single industry protected in the first amendment – is to blow the whistle.

    1. PS – None of this is about Trump beyond the fact that he was the target. It doesn’t mean he’s a good president, a good person of not. That’s why this should be bipartisan. This should be important to every American regardless of political affiliation, approval or disdain. But it is not. Most of Trump’s opponents refuse to allow these revelations into their consciousness. They refuse to even listen. It’s fascinating to watch….

      1. Take a look at the comments to Brennan & Clapper’s piece in the NYT that Turley linked to. They got the news in 2016 and nothing could ever change their minds. The paying subscribers who remain are irredeemable.

        1. “The paying subscribers who remain are irredeemable.”
          “would-the-real basket-of-deplorables -please-stand-up?”

  3. At some point greed takes a back seat to patriotism in government . Those who serve government took an oath to protect our freedoms must be held accountable. We will in time know what happened. It’s a story that’s needs to be investigated, picked apart & judged? Any organizations like WHO, NATO & U.N, USAID etc that Americans pay taxes to keep them going will change. For Americans it’s should be about where does our taxes go to & why? Taxes are out of control here. What we are learning is where our hard earned monies went to, who did what? The when’s & the how’s? Sit back and enjoy the show of how it all happened. Then as Americans we will exercise our right knowing our government today is closer than it’s ever been with the goal of lowered taxes & better living. Call it what you will? I am MAGA & proud of it!

  4. “After the election, journalists discovered that the payments for the Steele dossier were hidden as ‘legal fees’ among the $5.6 million paid to Perkins Coie under Elias.”

Don’t forget folks, they tried to make Donald Trump die in prison for the same charge.

  5. Although Jonathan is accurate, the real Culprits are ‘The People’ that:

    1. Want something $ for nothing, Handouts (a faux prosperity).
    2. They “allowed” the Democrats & Administration’s Bureaucrats to do the deeds they did (Did not hold them immediately accountable).
    3. They did not lift the Veil-of-Ignorance and demand transparency (Call out the Deep State).
    4. Allowed the PACs and Programs (USAID, Soros et.al.) to run ‘The-Agenda’.

The People were just as much on Autopen as the Government.
Comfortably Numb, so long as They got their Fix for free.

    1. [I]f Hillary and Obama had gotten what they wanted today,
Instead of a Country that is beginning to rebuilt itself in it’s own image,
We would have what New Your City is getting with Zohran Mamdani, from Coast-to-Coast.

      O.T.:
It’s Summer and F’en Hot Outside – TGIF!

  6. Men have been scoundrels since Cain slew Abel. That is not the topic here, we know most politicians are unethical. What we do know, also, is that the glue that has kept this nation together has been the notion that the Rule of Law is supreme.

If we allow the least of those involved in this event to escape without due punishment then we have abandoned our prime principle – that everyone is equal under the law.
There is absolutely no reason to sweep this under the rug, in fact, it is even more important that such high ranking people as obama and hillary face the most punishment for their actions.

Now we will see just how serious Trump’s DOJ and FBI are at righting this ship.

    1. Whim

You can be darn sure. All of the judges O-dumber picked will make this case very hard to go to trial.

      1. “All of the judges O-dumber picked will make this case very hard to go to trial.”
That may well be true, but it does not justify anyone in Trump’s administration making less than their utmost effort to pursue this to the most satisfactory conclusion possible (meaning visiting what most of us would recognize as serious punishment on the major perps). Trump may have been the immediate target of this conspiracy, but the rest of us are the victims most seriously impacted.

  7. A video documentary needs to be made with in the form of a chronology, with fact based events and milestones.
It should not include bias, opinion or conclusions and its goal should be for the viewers to draw their own conclusions.

  8. A question. I read in another article by Gregg Jarrett that implied since the recent documents were purposely hidden in a secret area at the FBI, the criminal conspiracy was ongoing until it was found. Thus extending the statute of limitations. I am not a lawyer so can this be true?

    1. I am a lawyer and the answer is yes, if the court finds that the coverup was part of the conspiracy. But even so, no jury or judge in DC will ever convict them of anything so why bother? My suggestion is to find some act done pursuant to the conspiracy that is in a neutral or conservative district and indict them there. Can’t bring this case in Nebraska. The Mar-a-Lago raid was part of the conspiracy/cover-up so maybe the SD Florida?

      1. Why bother? Even if they get off let them hire lawyers, let them sweat, let them worry about the vagaries of jury decisions and let the MSM be forced to cover this abomination.

        1. Wiseoldlawyer and hullbobby: Agree. -and add that hopefully, the impact might affect 2028 elections,- if we can divorce MSM and expand independent MEDIA coverage to keep all this in the headlines, just as media did with every single Trump indiscretion going back to the 1970s (and then throwing in his father as well). Even angelic little five-year-old blue-eyed blondie me actually STOLE a tootsie roll from a store once (no less, on the very same day, and on the way home from the dentist, who warned my mother to cut down on the candy junk so as not to affect my permanent adult teeth. He should not have said that in front of me, ha ha). Could I run for president with such an early history tainting my development?

          1. “Could I run for president with such an early history tainting my development?”

The Tootsie Caper would not torpedo your candidacy.

However — stomping on an innocent puppy with malice aforethought . . .

            You’re toast.

      2. It was a federal impact of election interference as well as fraud, subversion, obstruction, treason and other criminal acts against all States. It could be indicted in any of the 52 States Obama referenced, prosecutors choice….maybe Corrine Brown can lobby Freedonia for Obama defense money.

A salute to General Braxton Bragg!

      3. “no jury or judge in DC will ever convict them of anything so why bother?”
Among other possible reasons – because the MSM, which sadly remains the primary news source for many millions of Americans, has done, and is doing, its very best to sweep this story and the corruption that it illustrates under the proverbial rug. The spectacle of putting Obama, Hillary Clinton, John Brennan, and other prominent Deep Staters on trial could make that broom very difficult to wield.

  9. We knew Hillary was a liar — has been since the Rose law firm … but Obama is the worst part of this. Was it not enough to come from nowhere and become President of the US? While Nixon went down in disgrace, and so should these players. Now Obama should feel the heat of his greed and manipulation.

    1. Jesus Christ are you freaking blind?! Obama is the BIGGEST fraud ever perpetrated against the American people as well as orchestrating the biggest fraud against America. He’s a fraud top to bottom, the Manchurian candidate thrust upon us in the wake of the imbecile GW Bush. Do some research on the Kenyan Marxist, you’ll figure it out. No surprise, after all he be wicked smart, just not smart enough.

  10. It seems now – and has always been – the only ones not participating in the Trump/Russia collusion conspiracy are Trump and Russia.

  11. Accountability
The Clintons and Obama are no longer politically advantageous. Brennan, Clapper, Comey and FBI conspirators are toast.

      1. Yeah, it is best to do a simple plot where the patsy (like Crooks) is dead either way, and there are no money or document trails leading back to you. Problem is, patsies often fail, and it has to be repeated.

  12. I agree with Turley. But it doesn’t matter. Many people will believe the Russia collusion hoax until their dying days. This is true even if the major media outlets acknowledge it which they have not. A conspiracy believer will just say the media was forced by Trump to “change” the story as opposed to correcting it. And they never will apologize. When Biden became president claiming to be a moderate I truly wanted him to succeed. But that was also a lie. The democrats never wanted Trump to succeed on anything. What could possibly be more anti-American!

    1. I was working in a factory during the Clarence Thomas hearings that were conducted by biden. I had the option of wearing headphones and listening to radio while I worked and as a result I listened to the entirety of those trials. I was a political novice at the time but, even then, I could tell what a lying snake biden was just by his actions throughout that hearing. How anyone could have observed that man throughout his career and think anything good about him commands me to think that those approving of him were deeply indoctrinated in wishful thinking or just oblivious to human nature.

      1. Mama, even the Dems knew Biden was a joke, a morn and a proven liar and that is why the denied him the nomination three other times. It was only when Biden was up against such heavy weights as Bill DeBlasio, Swalwell, Klobachur, Mayor Pete and yes Kamala Harris that they were forced to nominate the corrupt old lying moron in order to prevent Bernie from getting the nomination, forcing the party to support a socialist and end up losing to Trump. The party was forced into it and they are still paying the price.

PS. Sadly today the Dems are embracing socialists and I am hopeful that it will doom the party.

        1. I am amazed at the willingness of democrats to “eat sh*t” rather than admit that they have a mouth full of it. My most unanswerable question that I pose to my orthodox Rav husband, continually, is how NYC reform Jews can vote democrat, especially in light of that commie-mamdani. I never ceases to amaze me the lack of awareness to reality that it requires to be a democrat these days.

        2. Hull

I always thought the reason why O-bama picked Biden was simple fact he need someone (can I say) dumber that him. I was never impressed with his so called schooling.

  13. This collusion to corrupt the reputation of a presidential candidate and the subsequent years of propaganda against Trump continues to divide my family. My in-laws are rabid Trump haters because they believed the MSM. They’re in their 80s and cannot see the truth. Is it a crime to lie to the American people? Is it a crime to cause civil division? Absolutely because it’s election interference. How many people’s votes were swayed due to these lies? Who’s to say the same machinations weren’t employed in the dressing room scandal? The raid at Trump’s home? It’s all suspect now.

    1. Perhaps a worse part of this is that even after Trump won the election despite the efforts of these contemptible snakes, they continued to, use the ruse, so to speak, to prevent the Trump Administration from following through on Trump’s pledges, which we now learn Trump actually does unlike so many politicians. In this manner they interfered with functioning republican government and defrauded the public at large.

I am not surprised that the Soros Foundation was involved. We’re tax exemptions involved also?

And now why not make the news organizations carrying water for this pay through the nose for their broadcast licenses. Certainly there is no way they can claim to work in the interests of the public at this point.

It’s almost too large a crime to punish all the guilty parties.

  14. Quite a trick, and given the time, all outside the statute of limitations. But they couldn’t do it without the complicity of the Media. That was the key. Justice would be the total demise of the legacy media.

    1. Not outside the statute of limitations because the conspiracy never ended. Acts in furtherance still go on.

      1. You are probably right. But prove that in court beyond a reasonable doubt, especially in the 3 federal venues with jurisdiction. A very very big hurdle.

        1. A conviction would be great, a long drawn out court battle with lawyers sucking these corrupt criminals dry is just as rewarding. As the multitude of conspirators trampled President Trumps civil rights, he should pursue them in civil court once done with criminal court.

        2. Since the nation as a whole was defrauded why couldn’t it be tried in, say, Campbell County, Wyoming?

    1. Wow, you are a real piece of work. Equating your political opponents to airplane hijacker terrorists. You’re just having a hissy fit because of all of the losing that’s going on for you and your leftist criminals lately. Sorry to tell you, more losing is coming for all of you. The rest of America is winning. Why do you Democrats hate a successful America?

      1. MAGAs are not my political opponents. They are my enemies in a war to preserve the US as a free country.

        1. Well, you’ve failed so far, and you’ll keep failing in your lame attempts going forward. You’re a pathetic loser whose views have been discredited, and you’re just lashing out because you are irrelevant and useless. Frankly, you’re so bad at this that I want you to keep going with your “war” because you and your ilk are having the opposite effect of what you intend. Thanks goober!!

            1. America is stronger and freer than we’ve been in decades, no thanks to losers like you. There are many other countries that are more in line with your thinking, so why not try Cuba, or China, or Russia. We’ll pitch in for your plane ticket. Vaya con Dios, señorita.

              1. Americans are free as long as all Americans do exactly as they are told by the Communist American Welfare Deep Deep State “Swamp.”

                Right, comrade?

Name a few things Americans may do in the absence of governmental interference. Oh, yeah! There are none. Let’s go get our government shot now.

Here’s America: “From each according to his ability, to each according to his needs,” under the omnipotent “dictatorship of the proletariat (i.e. the hired help).”

                1. The right to register limited and restricted arms purchases, free to have government set wages, prices, and rents, free forced busing, free forced integration, free “non-discrimination” laws (if one cannot discriminate, one cannot possibly be free), free “fair housing” (private property?) laws, free to fund and watch PBS, free to pay for unconstitutional Social Security, Medicare, ans communist Medicaid for illegal aliens et al.

Oh, he– yes! Americans are free…free to do what they’re ordered to do.

        2. Folks, when you hear about the next Crooks or Routh, remember this insane rant of a comment, and you’ll know how it all started.

        3. hmmmm, would you kill, maim or cause great bodily harm to a MAGA if you could in this war of yours?

        4. Notice how this tool has gone radio silent. Maybe she realizes how much she stepped in it this time.

        5. It is truly painful to observe such an indoctrinated, willfully ignorant mind, day after day, refusing to admit defeat, exposure and criminal behavior. We all know the truth here but we must endure the endless obfuscations of the witless prog/left – like a toddler caught with their hand in the cookie jar who claims they “didn’t do anything wrong”. Pathetic at best and lethal to our nation and culture at worst.

        6. Who forced Americans to get the shot or else? So don’t tell us about being a free country.

    2. Screeching about MAGA this and MAGA that really worked well over the last four years. Why don’t you call up President Harris and ask her opinion of the matter, her number at the White House is 202-456-1414.

  15. It’s truly amazing that here in the comment section of this blog post there is still a true believer peddling the lies of the Russian Collusion hoax.

    1. Not amazing at all. If you are one of the true believers of what the Media told you, you can either continue to believe them, or if not, you must reject everything they told you for 40+ years. If you conclude they have been lying all along, you might have to reject your entire world view. Every political view, every cause you identify with, your entire life. Everything. It is easier to keep on believing.

  16. That is quite a column. Sure seems to lay out the crimes with the documents and people who constructed this entire attempted coup. It should throw in a loss of legitimacy of the entire Obama Presidency, Clinton’s Campaign, and the Biden Presidency.
The New York Times and Washington Post should be closed down. You could make a case for keeping the Post since Mr. Bezos seems to be effectively hollowing out the Post now and we wait and see what the rebirth turns out to be.
The questions now are how far did it permeate the Obama and Biden Presidencies and who was involved and who was not and who can be charged.. I would speculate that if they were in the Obama presidency and then the Biden presidency then they were likely involved. I do not think everyone was involved. I may be naive but I still think that there are Democrats with a sense of honor and ethics who were not involved. They should be given the opportunity to clear themselves and start to clean up their party.
For the rest, I would suggest the cancelling of passports, permanent observation and disallowing any to leave the country. Tell Mexico and Canada that harboring any of these individuals would likely result in dire consequences. Same for Europe.
This was an attempted coup, make no mistake about it. Despite the investigations that showed no collusions this was perpetuated ad infinitum by Democratic partisans and the compliant media. The compliant media needs to shut down their news outfits and do some soul searching.
Jail the perpetrators, but no witch hunts.
All because Hilary Clinton had to have a private e-mail server and could not adhere to the rules of secure communications. The crime was stupidity, entitlement, feeling above the law, imperial mind set. But the coverup, by trying to deflect a non existence crime on Trump, grew to sedition, damn near treason, and possibly the fall of the CIA, NSA and FBI leadership and a sincere growth in lack of confidence of the government.
The Deplorables that she hated so much may have the last laugh. Seems the people have had saved us by not believing their so-called betters.
One question-Should all Obama and Biden appointees immediately resign. And every executive order and regulation change annulled. I think in the law they call it the fruit of the poisoned tree. Just to be sure.

    1. I expect WaPo to die. Bezos wants to turn it around. He wants to make it profitable again. But I don’t think he can. Once you lose an audience, you will never get them back. And his attempt to turn it around will alienate the little audience he has left – AWFLs and the Leftist true believers, and the boomers will be mostly dead in 20 years. In the end, he could keep it going as a rag like The City Paper – handed out for free, but that’s it.

The NYT is a different kettle of fish. A different kind of dinosaur. It is backed by the biggest money players out there on the Left. It is the entire voice of the Establishment. Bringing it down will require a financial depression, which may eventually happen.

      1. “Bezos wants to turn it around. He wants to make it profitable again. But I don’t think he can. ”

Agree. Bezos wanted to own WaPo as a status symbol, but he likes money too much to keep such a symbol around for very long while it hemorrhages cash. I give it possibly one more year before he puts it on the auction block.

    2. “The crime was stupidity, entitlement, feeling above the law, imperial mind set”. Oh yeah there must a federal law criminalizing stupidity. If so, you’d be in jail.
Oh please shut up you pompous fool.

        1. GEB,
Your comment was concise, accurate, and spot on. That is why the annony moron is so upset.
It is also rather telling our usual leftist friends are absent today. After all, they hung their hat on the Russia hoax for so long. Now that they are slapped up side the face with the facts, the collusion, all those involved in the conspiracy to link Trump to Russia exposed, they are proven wrong. Again.
          How marvelous!

    3. I like the idea of cancelling passports, starting with Brennan and Comey, and maybe even Hillary and Obama. Imagine the gnashing of teeth for a couple of years!

    4. “All because Hilary Clinton had to have a private e-mail server and could not adhere to the rules of secure communications. ”

You give that evil banshee too much credit. Do you really believe that, had that mail server security failure not existed, Clinton and her cohorts would not have found some alternative excuse to concoct exactly the same lies to defeat Trump? I absolutely believe that they would have done exactly the same before the election, and there can be no reasonable doubt that the very same sabotage would have been attempted after Trump was inaugurated.

  17. The thing you’re missing here– somewhat gullibly, I dare say– is the fact that the primary point of the trick, was to make the audience look away from the fact that they’ve sold themselves to China.

  18. The only “hoax” in the Russian Hoax was that it was a hoax. The bulk of the allegations turned out to be true. Russia did help Trump in 2016 and the Trump campaign knew about it.

    1. Oh my god will you just please stop with this crap. No, there was nothing true about the allegations. There was no collusion. Grow the hell up and just stop trying to push your false narrative!!

      1. “The Committee found that the Russian government engaged in an aggressive, multi-faceted effort to influence, or attempt to influence, the outcome of the 2016 presidential election. Parts of this effort are outlined in the Committee’s earlier volumes on election security, social
media, the Obama Administration’s response to the threat, and the January 2017 Intelligence Community Assessment (ICA).”

        https://www.intelligence.senate.gov/2020/08/18/publications-report-select-committee-intelligence-united-states-senate-russian-active-measures/

        1. Oh, the made-up ICA? You’re putting your stock in that? It’s over Shirley, nobody but apparently you believes the lies anymore. Damn, are you this dense?

What next, prostitutes peeing on beds, you going to push that lie? Alfa bank?? Nothing was true, you’re a freaking joke to believe any of it at this point.

        2. I don’t blame you for remaining anonymous. If I had a take that bad, I would want to stay hidden too.
The intel committee could only process the information it was given. Now we see that information was distorted or withheld, yet you stubbornly cling to a misinformed opinion for validation.
If the tree is poisonous so it the fruit.

          1. “The committee was lied to. Its conclusions were based on the lies.”

True, but I think the committee members also bear some blame for accepting a dubious pack of lies at face value.

    2. Dude, even the LEFT has given up on the Russia Russia Russia hoax. What year are you living in?

    3. Regardless of facts people like you cannot grasp the truth because of your inexplicable hate for a man (Trump) you’ve never met. The hate people have for Trump is a true phenomenon; It’s inexplicable and mind boggling.

      1. I like to use an analogy from Caddyshack with Trump as Al Czervik, and the modern left is Judge Smails. Trump just doesn’t “belong” here, lovey.

  19. I’m not certain any reveal will turn Dem heads or get a confession from anyone. Their talent is in distortion and deceit, so why would anyone think completely uncovering the truth would get them to admit anything. They’ll just call it a distraction and continue displaying their talents.
