Study: Yale No Longer Has a Single Republican Professor Across 27 Departments

Yale has finally achieved liberal nirvana. According to a recent report from the Buckley Institute, there is now not a single Republican found across 27 of 43 departments at Yale University. In a nation roughly evenly divided between Republicans and Democrats (with a slight advantage to the GOP), only 3 percent are Republicans across all Yale departments.

In comparison, roughly 83% of faculty are registered Democrats or primarily support Democratic candidates.

The Buckley Institute’s report looked at Yale’s undergraduate departments, as well as its School of Management and Law School.

  1. Not sure what this really means. Democrats/Republicans have become a uniparty on the fronts that hold power, using “differences” as distractions or steering mechanisms.

Would rather professors were apolitical and had common sense.

Politics is not for governance; it’s for manipulation.

    1. It’s Professor Turley who’s framing his argument around identity politics. No school surveys potential faculty about their party affiliations and makes hiring decisions based on that. It appears that merit plays a bigger role, with more Democrats or liberals tending to have higher qualifications or possess qualities students seek. The professor seems to emphasize party ties over academic merit and qualifications, or over what students are actually interested in.

      1. X says No school surveys potential faculty about their party affiliations and makes hiring decisions based on that.

Understanding Harvard President Claudine Gay’s Plagiarism Scandal
        https://www.plagiarismtoday.com/2023/12/12/understanding-the-claudine-gay-plagiarism-scandal/

So – what a coincidence! – conservatives/Republicans as faculty members at Yale, Harvard, etc. are about as common as finding a unicorn foreskin.

Wait!!! X has an excuse!!!! Wait for it….

“Any conservative/Republican with academic credentials simply isn’t educated enough to meet the high standards of meritocracy, as illustrated by Harvard’s president Claudine Gay, that these colleges set for those they accept into their faculties.”

      2. X the left pioneered claims that statistics prove discrimination, and they claimed absolutely proof of discriminate with small deviations from natural demographics.

Those who live by the sword, die by the sword.

Regardless, this is about more than how did colleges become bereft of Republicans and conservatives.

It is about the intellectual damage done by living in an ideological bubble – and WOSE teaching in an ideological bubble.

Each of us is Free within our own lives – or we are supposed to be, to associated with whoever we please.

You need not have conservatives in your home.
You need not hire conservatives in your business.
You need not allow conservatives to join your church.

You are free to associate only with those of your choice.

And you can substitute gay, lesbian, trans, black hispanic or martian for conservative above.

But you can NOT similar discriminate within government.
Law enforcement can not discriminate, Courts can not discriminate. Laws can not discriminate.
        Government can not discriminate.
And that includes all public education
It also includes all who are funded by government.

Those are things those of you on the left claim to beleive – atleast so long as it is not conservatives being discriminated against.

But beyond what you can do.

The left correctly believes that diversity is important to society.

Intellectual diversity is the most important form of diversity.

It is association with people who think differently than you do that prevents us all from making stupid ideologically driven mistakes.

In the summer of 2008 SEC Chair Paulson banned short selling to forestall a market collapse.
The market immediately tanked, and the Great Recession began in earnest.

Part of the way that we know when we are wrong is when the voices of those who think differently become much louder.

When you choose to live in a bubble – you deprive yourself of that information.

And that makes you much more fragile, and significantly increase the likelyhood you will make mistakes.

If those mistakes were only about you – you are free to screw up your own lives.

But in education you are screwing up others.

        1. John Say, but according to you, discrimination is not a crime or wrong.

Students are not interested in conservative ideas. Those who go to private conservative schools. Right?

Turley seems to be pushing for DEI for conservatives, BUT it’s conservatives who are opposed to it and the intent behind it.

It’s a free market issue. Schools offer what students want and are interested in, and it seems that conservative ideas and views are neither interesting nor wanted. Forcing it like Turley wants goes against the conservative anti-DEI narrative.

        2. John Say,

“ When you choose to live in a bubble, you deprive yourself of that information.”

The irony is that you don’t see that you are in a bubble. Your obsession with all things “left” is what keeps you in it. Those of us outside your bubble keep pointing out why you’re wrong and why it’s you who is in a bubble, but as the saying goes, fish don’t know that they are wet.

“ It is association with people who think differently than you do that prevents us all from making stupid, ideologically driven mistakes.”

That is not confined to colleges and universities. It’s also all over society, and it is clear that conservatives are more opposed to the idea of exposing their children to these different ideas, like the idea that homosexuals and transgender people exist. That Democrats or leftists can be right and be exposed to the idea that some or all conservative thought or ideology is wrong or misguided.

Conservatives have been entirely free to express their views and ideas in Universities, Colleges, the media, and in public. What they don’t like is the consequences of expressing them and being held accountable, or even pushing back on those ideas and views. Colleges and Universities don’t “purge” conservatives. They “purge” themselves when they express ideas and opinions that most students disagree with. Conservatives like to call that discrimination and complain about being singled out for ridicule, mockery, or plain ol’ criticism, and they take it as a personal attack. Playing the victimhood angle serves them well when they can’t defend their ideas or positions.

      3. While no one – including left wing nuts beleives Yale became a left wing mono-culture without deliberate and open discrimination – the lefts political cancellation of people is precisely that – the effort to use whatever social control that you have to purge those who think differently.

In the end the HOW is only important in that it amplifies your hypocrisy.

The real problem is that by excluding what it the largest ideology in the country you damage your own thinking and that of the students you teach.

You are free to screw up your own life

You are not free to screw up the lives of others.

Unlike Turley I am not up in arms over this.

        This problem is self correcting.

There is not a chance in the world I would contribute to Yale, or pay to send my kids.

The reputation of the Ivy’s only gets you so far and only lasts so long.

They will purge themselves when they can no longer attract students.

In a free market – even a dew percent shift in demand can be disastrous.

Unlikely Turley I believe this is a self correcting problem.

However Trump is 100% correct – if colleges wich federal finding, they can not discriminate.
They can not discriminate on the basis or race – such s DEI, not sex, nor ideology.

The later is harder to win, but no matter – the ideology of the left is toxic and racist.
So the federal govenrment can not fund it.

        1. You didn’t address the free market issue I pointed out. It’s what students want. Not what the school thinks students need to hear. I thought conservatives were all about letting the invisible hand of the free market decide. Turley wants to force it because conservatives/libertarians are being “purged,” which is nonsense. It is what the customer (students) want and expect from their chosen schools.

They can absolutely discriminate on ideology (party affiliation). Republicans make this argument all the time in redistricting arguments.

No matter what argument you bring to the table, it will always be what the students are interested in. New and radical ideas are often the domain of liberal thought, and that is what conservatives cannot really do. Younger adults will always want to explore new things and ideas in colleges and Universities. They already know the conservative point of view from their vast outlets of information on the internet, podcasts, politicians, lawmakers, etc. They make it easy for students to seek alternatives to what they already see in their daily lives. To them, it is not new or interesting.

          1. X says: You didn’t address the free market issue I pointed out.

Expecting a rational knowledge of free markets from communist Democrats like X, is about the same as taking explanations from a lesbian vegan on how to properly cook prime rib for Christmas dinner. Might even be the same person providing the explanation.

      4. When the Doctor in the ER asks you Why you shot your foot off, mostly that is academic. It has nothing to do with Treating your foot.

There is buckshot all through the foot of elite academia.

Why you did this to yourself is not important.
Nor is it necescary to prove your motives were repugnant.

Your foot is still dangling from the ankle all bloody and torn.
        That is reality.

        You have damaged yourself.

If you do not want help – that is OK. We can cut off all federal funding to elite institutions and you cn hobble arround,
You can even blow the other foot off too if you want.

  2. *. Yale and all are funded by donors from enemy foreign nations. IT’S THAT SIMPLE. Intelligent people have been removed. IT’S THAT SIMPLE.

Best quote: THAT was an accident. ~ Benny Thompson

He was referencing the two murdered National Guard soldiers. Brain dead sucker…

  3. Yet additional confirmation that pricey inculcation and indoctrination centers like Yale (“Lux et Veritas”) and Hah-vahdh (“ve-ri-tas”) have metastasized into the precise opposites of their mottos.

  4. There are private schools with a majority conservative faculty. They exist, and they are available for those “purged” conservatives and Republicans.

The problem is not the schools. It’s what most students want. They choose these schools because they like the programs they offer. Students see conservative views and ideas all the time outside of school, and clearly, they are not attracted to them, except for a small number. Since conservatives and liberals are almost evenly divided nationally, maybe young adults who come from conservative families and views want to explore a different point of view besides what they have been raised with. Because even kids from conservative-oriented families are curious about what there is besides conservative views and ideas. Or perhaps the Professor “forgets” that there are just as many independents within the conservative and Republican ranks who register as Republicans because that is the only way they can vote in a primary to choose a candidate they want, which is often just a matter of habit rather than choice.

Really, the problem seems to be a lack of new ideas and views from Republicans/conservatives. What do they have to offer that a young student would find interesting and challenging, beyond what they have already seen outside a university setting? Professor Turley provides no examples or ideas that a Republican/conservative professor could offer that would be interesting to students.

    1. X says There are private schools with a majority conservative faculty. They exist, and they are available for those “purged” conservatives and Republicans.

And perhaps George X simply forgot to include how much – if anything – those private colleges get in federal taxpayer funding as compared to Yale, Harvard, etc.

College president whose school takes no fed funding says Harvard ‘could make it on their own’
      https://www.foxnews.com/politics/college-president-whose-school-takes-no-fed-funding-says-harvard-could-make-own-after-trump-cuts

Really, the problem seems to be a lack of new ideas and views from Republicans/conservatives.

In reality, George X’s problem isn’t that he lacks new lies and tactics. His fatal flaw is that his undeveloped prefrontal cortex cannot accept that he has never established the slightest bit of credibility here. And instead of credibility is mocked, jeered and pointed out as a pathological serial liar.

Go sign an organ donor card, X; post it somewhere so that we can be assured that you will do at least one thing useful in return for the freedom and liberty that this country gives you in exchange for not even asking you to be a decent human being.

    2. “It’s what most students want.”

How do you know that most students want an overwhelmingly Leftist faculty?

Wait, let me guess: Because academia has an overwhelmingly Leftist faculty.

      1. Sam, students aren’t born conservative or Republican, liberal or Democrat. Those who choose to attend colleges and universities want to explore new ideas and experience different viewpoints besides those outside of campuses. Conservative ideas and beliefs are already everywhere—on social media, in the news, among family members, etc. They are already exposed to the worst of those ideas and actions. They may already disagree with or oppose conservative viewpoints. Additionally, conservatives and Republicans are often closely tied to Christian and religious zealotry, such as anti-LGBTQ attitudes, anti-immigrant stances, and policies favoring the ultra-wealthy. A conservative professor whose views students already oppose or disagree with won’t seem attractive or interesting to them because they see those ideas outside of academia. Conversely, liberal or independent professors offer a starkly different perspective that many students haven’t considered, which is more appealing. It sparks their intellectual curiosity—exposing them to new ideas, not the well-known ones they already oppose. Academia’s faculty is predominantly liberal because they are more open to those perspectives, and students appreciate that. Schools offer what students want. Turley complains that schools are not practicing more DEI for Republicans and conservatives.

        1. X – you are off on tangents.

I have no interest in your absurd social comentary.

Your Rights, your freedom are limited to those things that you can provide for yourself.
Government exists to assure that others can not use FORCE to prevent you from doing what you can on your own.

Absolutely Students are free to choose whatever college they wish – so long as THEY are the ones paying for it.

But they aren’t – are they. Their parents are, or government is, or others are.

So NO Students do not get to make whatever choices they want when those choices impose a burden on other people
When either their parents or govenrment – all of us must pay for their choices.

Regardless, your mind reading is NOT what is happening.

Colleges have not tilted left because students want that.
Students have no idea what they want. And to the extent they do they generally make bad choices.
And colleges is amoung other things supposed to be a place where students have MORE freedom than they did as children,
but are still sufficiently protected from MOST of their bad choices as to NOT be scarred for life by them.

And those of you on the left ARE scarring them for life.
You are producing young adults suffering from massive amounts of anxiety and depression.
          That is debilitating.
Worse still the correlation between that anxity and depression and left wing ideolgoy is strong enough to call it CAUSATION.

Men have about 50% less anxiety and depression than women.
Conservatives 50% less than left wing nuts.
The old 50% less than the young.
          Minoritis less than whites.

This is so bad that the average 20 something female college student on the left self reports 76% as suffering from anxiety and depression. \
While a 60+ year old conservative male has about a 6% rate of anxiety and depression.

          You made this mess.

People are not born suffering from anxiety and depression – it is inflicted on them by the malthusian left.

What do you expect when you tell everyone the world is going to h311 ?
There is some of this doom and gloom on the right – but only a tiny fraction of what is on the left.

Th world has lots of problems but only a complete moron misses that the core less of history is that things are getting Better all the time.

If you are shilling that everything is going to h311 unless you are able to force your will on others – YOU are the TRHEAT

        2. X, I believe you are somewhat right. When I was 18 I realized I wasn’t a democrat. And I never looked back.

        3. The civil rights Act bars discrimination on the basis of Race.

That covers the idiocy that is DEI.

You can not teach DEI (Racism) within govenrment or within anything funded by government
          PERIOD>

” Additionally, conservatives and Republicans are often closely tied to Christian and religious zealotry”
Some are, the same is true of the left – I can provide you with a long long list of extreme left wing nut churches.

And there is absolutely nothing wrong with that – so long as they focus on What THEY can do to improve the world, NOT trying to FORCE others to do as they say.

Further beyond actual left wing religious institutions – the left itself is a religious cult.

Religion is innate in humans. We can debate the reasons, but if you completely deprive humans of relgion – they will create new ones on their own. And that is exactly what the left has done.

JK Rowling comes up here alot. She is almost the pinacle of the leftism of the past generation. She is an ardent femist, pro women,
Likely pro almost everything that those on the left hold dear. Further contra left wing nuts – she is not anti-gay or anti-trans.
But she is trying to protect Women from people what as moved beyond a right and into a cult – a religion.

You ant to beleive you are born into the worng body ? Fine, while there is zero science on that and no empiracle means to test it,
maybe sometime in the future we will find a Trans gene though I doubt it. Most likely you are just dealing with something very normal – that human attributes nearly all distribute on a bell curve. Some men will be hyper masculine and some hyper femine.
But as with ALL bell curve distributions 99% of people fall withing 2.5 std dev of the norm. ALWAYS.

When you start pretending that 3% of 10% or 30% of people are Trans – your in the domain of religion – belief not reality.

Regardless the claim that religion is the domain of the right is absurd.
While there are more christians on the right than the left – though not by a large margin

According to Pew all protestants split 60:40 republican – though some groups like Black Protestants split 80:20 democrat.
          Catholics split 52:45 republican.
Jews and Muslims and unaffiliated (not athiests) spilt 70:30 democrat
          While atheists split 85:15 democrat.

So the claim that religion is the domain of conservatives is nonsense..

“anti-LGBTQ attitudes, anti-immigrant stances, and policies favoring the ultra-wealthy.”
You are free to believe whatever you want – Just as left wing nuts are free to believe whatever they want.

But you are treating as Binary things that are not.
          What does Anit-LGBTQ mean ?
Today nearly everyone is willing to allow consenting adults to do whatever they please in private.
That is a massive change in a century further that has ONLY been true for 0.0000001% of human history.
Nearly everyone accepts that two adults who wish can marry. Again a radicale change in a short period.
Not that long ago you could not marry if you were not the same race religion social class and the marraige was not arranged by your parents.

There are a few brain dead people – on the left who beleive that by magic people can change their sex.
Homosexuals have argued for decades that Sexual preferences are NOT maleable – NOT a choice, becauce the 14th amendment protects innate characteristics, not choices. We can make laws against SOME choices. You are not as an example free to have sex with children – even if they consent.
Regardless legal and constitutional – as well as moral protection of many sexual differences depends on their being innate – not choices.
If choices are protected – then this argument is over – Students and universities can not discriminate against conservatives.

BTW most conservatives favor immigration Only 21% of americans have any opposition to legal immigration and a majority want more legal immigration. But Super majorities went ALL illegal immigrants in the US deported except people who were brought here illegally as children.
This should not be surprising – Americans by huge majorities support following the law.
When they do not like laws – they work to change them.

There is no conservative anti-immigrant attitude in this country.
But there is broad opposition to lawlessness.
If you wish to come to this country – do so legally.
If you choose not to follow our immigration laws – why should we beleive you will follow other laws ?

What is this ultra wealthy nonsense ?

The majority of Americans WANT to be rich – and in fact the overwhelming majority of us will see our standard of living rise two quin tiles in our lifetime.

The vast majotrity of americans do not support stealing from others to support govenrment.
Regardless, it is the duty of EVEYONE to pay for the government. If you do not – why should you have any voice in that government ?

Everyone wants their own taxes reduced – but contra the left – few uof us are rushing to tax the crap out of others.
Further most of us understand that all taxation eventually is paid for by consumers – not the ultra wealthy.

And some of us understand that the money in the hands of the ultra wealthy benefits everyone far more than the same money in the hands of govenrment.

“A conservative professor whose views students already oppose or disagree with won’t seem attractive or interesting to them because they see those ideas outside of academia.”
Correct – and that is the problem. One of the purposes of college is to expand your horizons. You are an idiot if you think that people emerge from HS knowing the world – much less themselves. The value in a college education is exposing you to things you would not choose to yourself. If that were not the case – skip college and educate yourself.

“Conversely, liberal or independent professors offer a starkly different perspective that many students haven’t considered, which is more appealing.”
That however is false – students to day are exposed to left wing socialist and marxist claptrap from kindergarten forward.
There is pretty much zero that a left wing nut professor can tell a student that they have no heard over and over.
What students are missing is Why that garbage has failed everytime it has been tried.
They did not get that in Elementary school, they did not get it in HS, and now they will not get it in college which increases the likelyhood they will go out and Vote for increadilbly stupid and destructive policies that have never worked ANYWHERE.

YOU as an example – despite the evidence – Do not beleive the reality that your ideas have ALWAYS failed.

You rant about conservatives as deplorable and sucked in by conspiracy theories – but it is YOU that have been sucked in by lie after lie.
It is YOU that beleive complete and total nonsense that the slightest critcal think would cause to fall flat on its face.

And it is idiots like you that are precluding our children and college students from being given sufficient critical thinking skills to grasp the abject stupidity of your ideas.

      2. Sam, most students don’t care if their professors are left-wing or right-wing. They care more about what courses they need to take to fulfill the requirements for whatever degree they pursue. Some may find other courses outside those requirements interesting enough to take.

Academia has always been liberal in its views. Because you have to keep an open mind, which allows for the exploration of new ideas and perspectives. Conservatives don’t like that. They want to conserve the status quo because change is scary.

    3. “There are private schools with”
Any private institution that does not receive government funding can do as it pleases.

But you can not force the rest of us to pay for the indoctrination of our kids – not at a right wing institution, not at a left wing one.

    4. “The problem is not the schools. It’s what most students want.”
      False and irrelevant.

Students are not the ones Paying. You get choices why YOU are covering the cost.
Not your parents, not the government,

Regardless, it is an idiotic claim that Students choose this – we all know better.
First students do NOT for the most part know what they want or what they need.

These students are barely adults. They do not and have never supported themselves.
They are clueless about planning their future.
And it is NOT students that decide who is hired, promoted and fired on Campuses.
Nor is it students that have created the hostile environment for conservatives – not conservative professors, not conservative students.

I would NOTE – that YOU make claims about what is in Students minds. My arguments are rooted in ACTS. not mind reading.

Regardless, most of us do not give a schiff that those of you on the left have destroyed many institutions – so long as we are neither obligated to use them or pay for them.

“Really, the problem seems to be a lack of new ideas and views from Republicans/conservatives”
While that is not “the problem” – you are atleast partly correct – consevatism is NOT a new idea.
Nor will it ever be. Conservatism has two fascets.
The first is just an observation of reality AS IT IS.
New ideas FAIL – nearly all of them, nearly all of the time.
Only a moron thinks that they can pull an idea out of their ass and expect it to work better than the status quo.
What exists – especially what has existed for centuries, millennia, WORKS – if it did not we would not be here.
It may not be perfect – but humans have survived and thrived within what already is.
What is new is unknown – the odds are heavily that what is new will fail.
Conservatism is NOT opposition to all change all new ideas, it is the absolutely justified insistantce that new ideas must be tested and prove themselves before being imposed on society.

Conservatism is simply raeality – math, odds, it is choosing not to bet heavily on near certain losers.

The 2nd more libertarian portion of conservatism is that those who wish to try new things do so ON THEIR OWN.
Within the free market – where should their idea prove to be an improvement – THEY Benefit first (ultimately everyone benefits),
and should it prove to be a failure – the failure is confined to those who freely chose to go forward to assume the risk.
That the rest of us are NOT harmed by the failure of new ideas.

A decade an a half ago the left told us that PPACA was going to fix the problems of Healthcare.
The FACT is that it did NOT. It has proved an expensive boondoggle that has harmed people. Yet the left has made EVERYONE pay for it, and now seeks to get everyone to pay to Expand a scheme that has proven a disastorus failure.
And you all want us to beleive that makign a bad idea even bigger will make it less of a failure ?

You are absolutely free to screw yourself over.
You are NOT free to screw others over.

I would note that there actually were emerging real improvements to healthcare – and that YOU and PPACA killed them off.

I told you to Read Coase – How China became capitolist.

It is litterally directly on point here.

China skyrocketed after Mao’s death because it turned a blind eye to changes at the margins.

China had failing collective agriculture – much like PPACA is failing. Individual chinese tried alternatives on their own on the side – trying unsuccessfully to hide from Government. They kept their collective agriculture – but in a few places a blind eye was turned to peasants growing food in their own plots. This succeeed incredibly and unlike in the past Deng and other Chinese leaders did not rush in and punish those who violated the law, violated socialism. They ignored them and not only were peasants who previously were unable to feed themselve able to do so, but now they were feeding others and their production was Growing.

This is also how in the US we solve healthcare. Do not get rid of PPACA, just entirely eliminate its federal monopoly.
Do NOT require people to join it. Do NOT require insurance companies to participate.
Take every single portion of the law that mandates anything beyond the rules for those who VOLUNTARILY participate and get rid of them.
It will only take a few years for PPACA to die.

You say conservatives have no new ideas – that is true. They have ONE HUGE IDEA – one that works.
Let people work things out within their own lives within the free markets.
Trust people to manage their own lives – not only will they do fine.
But they will come up with tens of thousands of new ideas. Far more than left wing nuts can imagine.
Most of those ideas will fail, they will get up shake themselves off and try again until they succeed.
And having succeeded they will not stop. They will move to trying something else new.

We do not need and should never want “new ideas” from Government.

We NEVER want any new ideas – no matter how good they sound to be imposed by FORCE.

The left comes up with lots of ideas. But the free market comes up with millions of times MORE.

Conservatism is the historical FACT that goverment does not belong in the new ideas business.
The role of government is quite simple. Thwart the use of force by actors to get their own way (criminal law),
Compell people to honor binding agreements they make (contract law), and compell people to make whole those they ACTAULY harm (tort la)

That is pretty much the role of governmemt – to provide a stable foundation
Everything else will easily be accomplished by free people.

  5. This is arguably the stupidest article from Professor Turley. Really? I’m not sure if he’s being naive, ignorant, or simply peddling nonsense while knowing what the real issue is, because it’s easier to stir up conservatives and libertarians for attention.

Professor Turley is making a very woke argument. He’s complaining about some sort of unfairness—about Republicans and conservatives not getting fair representation in these schools, especially private ones. Ironically, it sounds a lot like a DEI issue. He’s advocating for diversity of viewpoints, equal representation, and inclusion in these elite institutions. This is the Democrat in Turley speaking without making it too obvious.

Schools don’t hire based on political affiliation, yet here we have Turley whining that members of one party are being unfairly excluded because of… what exactly?

I’ve pointed out many times that the schools aren’t deliberately purging or excluding Republicans or conservatives from faculty roles. It’s more a natural result of conservative views and attitudes toward these elite schools. Conservatives and Republicans are often the ones criticizing these institutions, claiming college degrees are worthless and unnecessary. Charlie Kirk, for example, has famously called college a scam. So why would there be a push for more Republican or conservative faculty if they’re the ones often questioning the value of higher education? It seems like they’re essentially purging themselves from these schools, and Turley is just using that as an excuse to whine about the lack of conservative representation.

Turley considers himself a libertarian, but as far as I know, he’s still registered as a Democrat. Why doesn’t he announce he’s switching to the Republican Party and champion the cause for more Republicans in colleges and universities? That would be the most logical step, given his constant complaints. Come on, Professor—lead by example.

    1. X says This is arguably the stupidest article from Professor Turley.

There is no argument that X appears here every day to prove that if we think he couldn’t be more moronic, he takes that as a personal challenge and sinks to even lower levels.

BBBUUUTTTTT….. MUH TURLEY!!!!! THIS IS MY BLOG – NOT HIS!!!!!

    2. X/George/Svelaz is inarguably the most naive, ignorant, or simpl[e] peddl[er] of nonsense that we must tolerate every day because of our commitment to free speech. Poor georgie does not have an original thought in his head, but simply relies on google and wikipedia (both independently rated as left-leaning) and lefty websites, then lifts and rewords their talking points to pretend they are his own. He also lifts words and phrases that he likes from this website and pretends they represent his thoughts. He is joined by gigi and a particular anonymous, whose writing styles and comments are now well known.

    3. “Schools don’t hire based on political affiliation . . .”

How do you know that? Decades of experience in higher education? Along with your decades of experience in the law, economics, medicine, business . . .? How many lives have you lived? Do you go back as far as Cleopatra?

    1. Hullbobby, along with one or two anonymouses whose only goal here is to engage in petty personal attacks and insults instead of offering a cogent or constructive defense of Turley’s argument.

Why do YOU think Republicans/conservtives are being “purged” from these schools? What is it that YOU think in your own words is the issue? Are conservatives being denied equal representation because of what?

Turley says it’s because of an “entrenched orthodoxy”, but what does that mean? Because even in those schools conservative ideas and views ARE being discussed, by Democrats and liberal faculty. So? Are they not expressing those views correctly? Are they bad-mouthing them? What? What is YOUR view Hullbobby? Why do YOU think it’s not fair for these schools that these Republican/conservative faculty does not represnt the makeup of the general population? What is YOUR take?

      1. X cried: Hullbobby, along with one or two anonymouses whose only goal here is to engage in petty personal attacks and insults.

You actually get attacked in response to your petty personal attacks and insults that are so prominent in so many of your posts here – lying about and defaming your host here, Professor Turley?

My God! Poor you! How outrageous that the nature of your posts here is met with responses that engage you with your own tactics!!!!

BTW… you might not like being called a “liar” when you’re doing just that so often (want examples X/Anonymous/George?), but the truth is not a personal attack or insult.

  6. In 1969 at UT Law in Austin, Texas, Vince Blasi taught our L2 class Constitutional Law. He graduated from the University of Chicago Law School. One of the things he hammered home was that a University by definition is a place where all ideas, including the hated ideas, polish the skill of critical thinking. Whatever those hated ideas were in 1969 and now in 2025. If you are going to pour the knowhow of one generation into the heads of the next, you better pour all of it. Johnathan’s update is a read that looks like the gauges at Three Mile Island and Chernobyl just before meltdown. No, a China Syndrome in academia doesn’t happen as fast as a nuclear fission meltdown. But it is an IQ test of how we vote, how we hire, what we fund with the public fisc, and how we elevate esteem for seats of learning that are answering the call for real university.

    1. If you are going to pour the know-how of one generation into the heads of the next, you better pour all of it.

That one line is probably the best observation that will be read today.

  7. Why should anyone be surprised. The Ivy League schools get their endowments from the Democratic Socialist and the big climate change businesses. The fat cats in the big climate change industry tell all the little cowards at Yale that they better walk the line if they want to sail their boat on the greater branch of the Cash river. Their sanctimony is dripping wet with the spoiled smell of dead fish with their integrity having been filleted away in their frenzied pursuit of the eternal lucre. Can you smell the stench that turns your stomach?

    1. Thinkitthrough, did you not think things through about what you said? Conservatives/ Republicans are constantly bashing elite schools and calling them useless scams. Why would they donate any money? What makes more sense? Republicans/conservatives are continually whining and complaining about these liberal bastions getting massive donations from major Democratic donors who are always encouraging education and furthering one’s knowledge. Or Republicans/conservatives refusing to fund these liberal elite schools because they are liberal elite schools? Whose fault is it that these schools are mainly getting Democrat donations and massive investments?

  8. GOP Time to END Federal Aid to colleges, cities, states, non-profits
Outlaw Public unions the Political army of the Democrats

Abolish the Democrat Party who are fighting like it is 1860

  9. Yale may still need to purge some subversive Republicans from the janitorial staff. Ideological Cleansing takes time and must be thorough in order to root out and expunge all potential reactionary enemies, and to promote an approved diversity of socialist-Leftism.

  10. This has resulted because Democrats know they can’t win policy debates on logic or reason, so they have to eliminate the competition, both with exclusion or even violence if necessary.
They don’t even hide this anymore, which should make it easy to justify cutting off all federal tax dollars to these indoctrination camps masquerading as education.
The irony is their hypocritical use of the phrase “threat to democracy” against their opposition.
Thankfully, the Trump revolution has exposed their politicians and propaganda media for what they are, and more people are starting to wake up.
With the new polls showing the lowest Democrat approval ratings in decades, the emergence of the Mamdani/AOC/Bernie radical Socialists should pretty much put the final daggers into the heart of that horrific mess of a Party, thereby eliminating the real “threat to democracy” and the strengthening of our Constitutional Republic.

    1. Cliff Jackson,
Great comment. We see for what crap they are trying to force on us and we are not buying.

  11. Well now, even the leftist Guardian says that thousands of photos including both Trump and Clinton with Jeffrey Epstein have been released. Deflection is a well known tactic employed by the left when they don’t want to talk about low inflation and Trumps approval rating being higher than Obama’s at the same time during their administrations. Even when their leftist patriots like the Guardian tell the truth the say looky looky over their. They consider their own followers stupid enough to take the bait. Are you included? https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/gallery/2025/dec/19/new-photos-from-epstein-files-release

  12. Shortest Daylight Day of the Year
    ❄️Winter Solstice❄️
Hold Tight – We’re making a U-Turn at The Tropic of Capricorn

The Tropic of Capricorn is an imaginary line of latitude at approximately 23.5° South of the Equator, marking the southernmost point where the Sun is directly overhead at noon during the December solstice, signifying the start of summer in the Southern Hemisphere. It serves as the southern boundary of the tropics, separating the tropical zone from the temperate zone and running through South America, Africa, Australia, and the Indian & Pacific Oceans.

  13. *. Check the donors to Yale including the anonymous or hidden donors utilizing lawyers or investment entities. You’ll find foreign donors, unfriendly foreign donors. These donations have not been reported either. Enemies funded the US demise, greed and dishonesty paved the way.

  14. OT kind of…
Just saw article on the failed Welfare State. Two names always comes to mind as examples of how these Communist subversives influence, Cloward-Piven. Break the Bank, break the Country.

    1. Three is not a single Republican in the House or Senate. They are all trumpists. Big difference.

Murkowski and Collins in the Senate are actually “Trumpists” by your standards? How about Thomas Massie along with the Republicans still in the House who voted with Pelosi to impeach Trump?

Lyin like a proud Bibery Biden Bolshevik Birthing Boy….

  15. Talk about removing things…

I knew this trump epstein thing was a hoax. And now we know. No pictures of trump and trumps name does not appear in anything the DOJ just released. See, trump never even knew the guy. There is absolutely no connection between trump and epstein.

Thank you trump DOJ for proving that trump never even knew epstein.

    1. @walterkirn on X summed it up well: “The Epstein Files are whatever you want or need them to be, I’ve learned.”
