Last weekend, I wrote about New York City mayor Zohran Mamdani’s full-throated pledge to introduce New Yorkers to “the warmth of collectivism.” He proceeded to fulfill his pledge to govern as a die-hard socialist with the appointment of a new advocate for renters who has espoused communist policies favoring the seizure of private property. Cea Weaver, the new director of the Office to Protect Tenants, is the ultimate example of the young armchair communists coming out of our universities with little memory or understanding of past failures in socialist countries.
While the Administration just brought Venezuelan dictator Nicolás Maduro to New York, Mamdani appears intent on bringing some of his policies to the Big Apple. The fact that he reduced a prosperous nation to an economic basket case seems to be little deterrent.
Weaver, 37, is an example of the shallow sloganeering that masquerades as policies in these circles. Notably, her commitment to communist doctrine does not appear to extend to defending them. She deleted many of her most extreme calls for the seizure of property and racist statements directed against white people.
Weaver has called for Americans to ‘impoverish the white middle-class’ and called homeownership “racist” while demanding the seizure of private property. The videos sound like a college coffee klatch of junior communists, part of what I have called the “radical chic” of higher education.
“I think the reality is, that for centuries we’ve really treated property as an individualized good and not a collective good…And transitioning to treating it as a collective good and towards a model of shared equity will require that we think about it differently and it will mean that families – especially white families, but some POC families who are homeowners as well – are going to have a different relationship to property than the one that we currently have.”
She has denounced homeownership as “a weapon of white supremacy.”
These views mirror past comments by Mamdani himself who has called for “seizing the means of production.”
Mamdani had to be aware of Weaver’s past comments, which include:
• calling “homeownership … a weapon of white supremacy masquerading as ‘wealth building’ public policy.”
• “improvish the white middle class. Homeownership is racist/failed public policy.”
• There is no such thing as a ‘good’ gentrified, only people who are actively working on projects to dismantle white supremacy and capitalism and people who aren’t.”
• “seize private property!”
• “elect more communists.”
• “this country built wealth for white people through genocide, slavery, stolen land & labor. white supremacy built the north and the south.”
• “endorse no white men in office platform.”
Imagine how the press would respond to a Republican nominee who called to vote against any black people or to elect fascists.
In my forthcoming book, I discuss this shift toward socialism as a new generation replicates the same failed policies that marked a long line of collectivist catastrophes. Other countries are throwing off the yoke of socialism and communism. Yet, Mamdani and his aides herald some of the same failed policies.
Months ago, as Mamdani also tried to scrub his social media, I wrote that he was a hardcore Marxist. Liberal pundits then objected and said that he really was just a ramped-up welfare liberal.
Mamdani and Weaver prove the truth of Maya Angelou’s warning that “When someone shows you who they are, believe them the first time”.
I fail to see how with these children in positions of power Manhattan isn’t about to simply become CHAZ 2.0. Absurd. Patently absurd. This is your modern DNC, folks. You are pathetic. There’s no other word for it anymore.
There’s a great article online in Reason Magazine (January 2026) titled “Republican Socialism” by Eric Boem.
Trump is doing the exact same thing as Mamdani seizing part ownership of private companies like Intel and U.S.
Republicans love socialism;)

As though you actually read it – versus copying and pasting that from where it’s racing around the globe, like a lie making that trip before the truth can even get its shoes on.
What makes a magazine reasonable or credible when it says Trump should have allowed Iran’s Mad Mullahs to complete the final touches on developing nuclear weapons under the nuclear weapon program that Obama and Biden endorsed and funded? Their rational being that Trump should have allowed that to continue rather than destroying those facilities.
Make your best defense of that being both a reasonable and rational approach to Iran’s nuclear weapons program nearing completion. Because I don’t see any credibility in the opposition or in that article – which unlike you I actually read.
Communists love alleged conservatives, libertarians and Republicans who help them make the case for Democrat communism – whether it’s Liz Cheney of the missing Pelosi J6 Committee Files, or Reason magazine who calls Trump destroying Iran’s nuclear threat “socialism”.
I believe Cea Weaver had a bit part in the movie Dr. Zhivago.

The more AI takes over business communication, the more alienated people become from businesses who handle money. Wall Street is more of a vertical integration broker than an investment house anymore.
Why should communists and socialists care?
And why should I (out west) care if New York begins its slow death spiral?
So let “Big Boardroom” take this opportunity to move to states where it is “sunny with occasional on shore winds”, lol.
Dems oppose a guy who was elected by the people and is keeping his campaign promises, with the slogan, “No Kings.” OTOH, they are upset at the deposing of a guy in Venezuela who lost the election in a landslide but stayed on anyway through coercion, because . . . . democracy, or communism, or something.
In light of the above, the Dems are now quietly changing all their “No Kings” yard signs to say, “Yes Kings.”

On a previous post, I opined that the municipal unions will be a reality check for Mamdani. Likewise, he may appoint whomever he wishes, but the apple in the real estate world is NYC. At best they will slow the increases in a few rent controlled buildings, but the city will remain the bluechip in the RE world.
Communism doesn’t work because people like to own stuff. (Frank Zappa)
Zappa I’m sure owned several homes and businesses
“Zappa I’m sure owned several homes and businesses”
I think that for decades that’s been called “Having some skin in the game”.
Mayor MamiDadi’s brand of Benevolent Democratic-Socialism is appealing to the entitled, youngish masses with its lofty moral prescriptions for society’s ills. Of course this is a warmer embrace on the gradient scale to the ultimate aims of Communism and Revolution, but many half-hearted Leftists fool themselves that they’ll have the reason, the ability and power to restrain the inevitable plunge into the abyss where all equity and justice devolve into the cruelest and most capriciously merciless end for all, including themselves.
True, and as someone posted yesterday: you can vote socialism in, but you’ll have to shoot your way out of it.
I see a couple of mentions of our 2A in the comments, which is exactly why those of us who agree with the Founders for including that in our Bill of Rights are only amused by any Democrats who think they will eventually do away with “rugged individualism”, replacing it with “the warmth of collectivism”.
If you are unfortunate enough to live in any of those failing blue cities/states that are voting these people in, you have already been living with unconstitutional restrictions on your 2A rights.
But if you choose to keep living there, you will have nobody to blame but yourselves when the “collective” comes for you.
And it will be impossible for those of us who believe in that “rugged individualism” (and 2A), who already enjoy lower taxes, cheaper (by far) gas, plentiful jobs and open carry to feel sorry for you and the poor choices you made.
Don’t you just love these people on the left. They have nothing in common with the common man, or woman for that matter. Mamdani’s mother is film producer and his father is a professor at Columbia. His wife’s mother is a pediatrician and her father is software developer. The woman who was Maduro’s vice president is a classic Marxist/socialist. But of course she has a weakness for designer handbags. Bernie Sanders has 3 houses. Socialism for thee but not for me. What me live on a commune? And always remember, taxes are for the little people.
Apparently for young New Yorkers a constant, nice smaile overcomes all that unpleasantness.
In addition to being a Democratic Socialist, Cea Weaver shares another characteristic with New York Mayor Zohran Mamdani. Outside of government, quasi-government and community organizing type work, as best I can tell, neither has ever had a private sector job. In my own career, I have learned there is world of difference between a judge who has never been in private practice and one who has; it is the difference between theory and practice. I have yet to see a theory that did not require modification when applied to human situations. For the sake of New York, I hope Mamdani and Weaver and others like her understand this reality and are willing to govern accordingly.
Hell Yeah Baby! NYC Wokies voted for this kind of Home Rule – well, here it comes and by the time Mamdani The Commie gets done with his Second Term all the little Woke Blue-Haired Wealthy Nags will wonder how their property tax tripled, their waiters and household staff make deep six figures, and the criminals target them more than ever as easy marks! The Collective Paradise awaits you Nags!!! Bah haha.
Where do they find these people?
Surrounding yourself with other self-proclaimed zealots and putting them in positions in your admin is not a good way to govern a city.
How would you know? Ever manage a city of 8 million?
Ano
Ever manage a city of 8 million?

Neither has Mamdami
“How would you know? Ever manage a city of 8 million?”
And yourself, before posting that as your best rebuttal? Did you even manage even a small city?
Even a small city the size of the one that The Reverend Mrs. Pete Pete Buttagieg was mayor of? Where as failed DEI Hire mayor, he couldn’t even fix the potholes in the streets, much less get the cities buses to run on time? Those qualifications (other than being a homosexual DEI Hire) for Biden’s Transportation Secretary?
How did those qualifications for Transportation Secretary work out for America during the last four years? About the same as this DEI communst hire by commie Mandani will work out?
Your move, Tovarisch…
Thank you for the article. Mamdami is a vicious hunk of malevolent tyrannical scum and those who voted for him will get what they deserve. Sadly honest decent hard working people will also suffer. But I do differ with you about this phrase, ‘…young armchair communists coming out of our universities with little memory or understanding of past failures in socialist countries.’. It’s not failing memory or lack of understanding. These people are ‘wanna be’ tyrants who consciously evade historical facts while rejecting all human values as such. They want life or death power here in America so they can round up and kill anyone who disagrees with them. They failure is not from lost memories or inadequate understanding. They have chosen outright evil and are desperately trying to establish a communist police state right here in America right now.
Not ‘They failure’. ‘Their failure…’
“Mamdami is a vicious hunk of malevolent tyrannical scum…” Reading your comment tells me you have an anger mgmt. issue.
You’re the perfect MAGAgot.
Reading your comment ⬆️ tells me you suffer from terminal TDS …🏆🏆🏆
saving the world? Really? Retard.
saving the world? Really? Retard.
The early shows at Democrat movie theaters are now playing…
Projection:
Channeling one’s actions onto others typically refers to the psychological concept of projection, where a deeply emotionally disturbed individual unconsciously or deliberately attributes their own thoughts, feelings, and anti-social or criminal behaviors onto someone else.
This is an internal defense mechanism which allows mentally ill people to avoid confronting their own behavior and guilt by seeing it instead as as the thoughts and actions of another person who they despise and hate.
These mental Lilliputians have studied much and learned nothing of value.
Just guessing you’ve been well indoctrinated.
Anyone who has seen Dr. Zhivago knows exactly what will happen to property once the warmth of collectivism takes hold. Compare Yuri’s home before and after the collectivists took it over. That is a perfect prediction for NYC.
It’s time to lock up those penthouses, New Yorkers! The expropriations committee may already have plans. But don’t worry. There’s plenty of room out here on the prairie. And we peasants will teach you how to make good brandy Old-Fashioneds.
Dr. Zhivago is a novel. Fiction. The dumbest analogy ever!
The author survived the warmth of collectivism, a far more reliable source than any delusional prog bot such as yourself. begone, your nasty insertions in this blog is a waste of time and space but I would assume you are either paid by the word or are totally in the last throws of TDS
This guy won the election fair and square. So I think it’s a mistake to do to him, what Democrats are doing to the President. Let him do his thing, appoint whom he chooses, and let the chips fall where they may. Maybe it turns out well, in which case he’ll be reelected. If not, then not. Regardless, I respect the voters of NYC – who knew who he is and what he was about before voting.
Do you say that the left should just let Trump/ICE do what he promised to do and let’s see how it goes? Or are you a hypocrite?
Anon ignore this moron, he’s from Massachusetts.
Do to him what Democrats are doing to President?!?!… LOL….. 😹😹😹… pray that was sarcastic… Because this Klown Mamdani 🤡has not seen 1/1000000 of what Trimp faced from the tree hugging wingnuts….
You have to be writing this with your cranium located in your nether-regions. The dimwit parasites who voted for him only saw the word “FREE” and nothing else. I would imagine most were either the failed products of our media/education industry or were so low on the IQ scale that they just signed their ballot with an X
Is this supposed to be some of that substantial grownup talk?
Mamdani, Cea Weaver, and their ilk are why the Second Amendment exists.
Why the Second Amendment exists? Really.
Are you exposing your ignorance of the reason for the 2nd amendment?
Guns add uncertainty to criminals looking for an easy victim.
More Guns = Less Crime … and Tree Hugging Wingnuts 🔫🔫🔫
Landlords and business managers can be tyrannical, too.
God help New York City! and our country if this is the way things are headed.
Scary!!
Take a deep breath. Slow down.
Mamdani and his ideology will never take over “our country”.
Do not pay attention the fools and idiots screaming collectivism on this blog. They are truly the dumbest of the dumbest.
Why would you expect a jejune Mamdani to appoint an experienced, successful, advisor in policy or economics? He is a privileged young man-child, and as French Premier, Georges Clemenceau, said a century ago, “A man who isn’t a socialist at 20 is a fool, and a man who is a socialist at 40 is also a fool.” This fool has 6 years yet to go. I’m afraid though that New York City’s voters are already out of time.
“If a man is not a socialist at 20, he has no heart; if he is still a socialist at 40, he has no head”—has been traced to Bennett Cerf’s 1944 book Try and Stop Me, which recounts a story about Clemenceau’s response to his son joining the Communist Party.
