“It was an Outright Murder.” Democratic Politicians Pander to the Mob on ICE Shooting

Below is my column on Fox.com on Democratic politicians and pundits immediately declaring that the ICE officer in Minneapolis is a murderer. There is a method to this madness for politicians such as Rep. Dan Goldman (D., N.Y.) who are facing primary challenges from the far left. He and others sit like Madam Defarge, simply knitting the names of expendable officers to fuel the mob.

Here is the column:

“It was an outright murder.” Those words from Rep. Dan Goldman (D., N.Y.) were echoed by Democratic leaders from coast to coast almost immediately after an ICE agent shot and killed Renee Nicole Good, 37, as she sped toward him in a vehicle. Goldman is the Madame Defarge of American politics, the character from Tale of Two Cities who knitted as she gleefully called for the heads of aristocrats and counterrevolutionaries in the French Revolution.

Goldman has made a career of dismissing due process for his political opponents while engaging in willful blindness of the conduct of his allies. He has denied the existence of Antifa as an organization as well as claiming that he has seen no evidence of an increase in attacks on ICE officers.

He apparently needed no further proof to declare this officer a murderer: “It was an outright murder. This officer needs to not only be fired and suspended, but—based on the video—charged.”

The video does not support such a claim. Under the governing case law, the officer is allowed to use lethal force when he is facing an imminent threat to his life or the lives of fellow officers or third parties.

In this case, the officer had a fraction of a second to decide whether to fire his weapon after Good sped toward him. Good appears to have been attempting to flee the officers and flight alone is not a justification for the use of lethal force. However, when you speed toward an officer, he may treat the vehicle as a weapon and discharge his weapon in self-defense.

Goldman is fully aware that past case law supports the officer in this case. However, he is also aware that he is facing a Mamdani-supported socialist, Brad Lander, a popular local politician. Goldman is ramping up his rhetoric to appeal to the radical left from promising impeachments to calling for the prosecution of this officer. This officer is no longer a human being, he is a prop to be used for political gain. If he has to go to jail to secure a third term for Goldman, he is viewed as a small price to pay.

Others have joined the murder mantra, including Mamdani, who declared, “This morning, an ICE agent murdered a woman in Minneapolis—only the latest horror in a year full of cruelty.”

Mamdani insisted that he was going to focus on retaining existing NYPD officers rather than adding more officers. That seems unlikely as he shows that officers cannot expect him to support them if they are involved in such shootings. The mayor immediately joined the mob, dismissed the need for an investigation, and declared the officer a murderer.

In an age of rage, the loudest and angriest is king.

That was evident in the profane, unhinged diatribe of Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey who immediately not only declared the officer a murderer but called claims of self-defense “bllsh*t” and told ICE “get the f–k out” of the city.

When many of us denounced his conduct, he mocked his critics by apologizing if his profanity “offended their Disney princess ears.”

Gov. Tim Walz followed suit. As his head of Public Safety insisted that they would not speculate on the outcome of the investigation, Walz stood next to him in declaring that Good was killed for no reason and portrayed ICE as terrorizing the state. Walz previously denounced ICE as “Donald Trump’s modern-day Gestapo is scooping folks up off the streets … being shipped off to foreign torture dungeons.” Ironically, he then added that these people have “no chance to mount a defense.” That concern apparently does not extend for Walz to members of law enforcement.

Goldman, Mamdani, Frey, and others are traffickers in rage, feeding an addiction in the hope that these mobs will propel them further in power. Law enforcement officers are simply expendable when political advantage is at stake.

Democrats showed the same cynical calculation in condemning border agents falsely accused of whipping migrants at the Texas border. Even though videotape refuted the claims, leading Democrats and the media pushed the false claim. The agents were then subject to over a year of abusive treatment before being cleared of the charge.

There is a method to his madness. As Madame Defarge assured her husband, they must ignore the cost to others because “Nothing that we do, is done in vain. I believe, with all my soul, that we shall see triumph.”

Democrats may indeed “see triumph” in rage politics. However, history has shown that today’s revolutionaries often become tomorrow’s reactionaries. Goldman is already facing a challenge from the left that he is not radical enough. Feeding a nation of rage addicts can prove a dangerous business when someone offers purer, cheaper highs.

For now, however, no one will out rage Goldman or others. They remain on a political hair-trigger to find triumph in the tragedies of our times.

  1. Dems love sending in their Army of Karen’s as cannon fodder (literally) to martyr these bored dumb housewives and chronically unemployed numb nuts! Let’s watch Keith Ellison try and fabricate another cop murder case in spite of Federal immunity!

  2. They are trying to provoke another George Floyd.

The first FLOYD was an ugly stain on law, the legal profession, the commentariat, the ‘news’ industry and the political mobsters; all of whom make Al Capone seem like a fairly decent chap by comparison.

Chauvin and the other judicially lynched officers were innocent.

The autopsy reported ‘no life threatening injuries’ and showed no injuries to his neck or signs of asphyxiation.

It did show that he had 11 ng/mL of fentanyl in his system. Death is common at 9 mL and less.

He also had as much as 90% blockage of some coronary arteries. That may also contribute to death.

He also had signs of meth and Covid.

Floyd was likely the only person in the world with Covid indications who didn’t die ‘of Covid’ rather than ‘with Covid’ following the prevailing and dishonest reporting practices of the times.

When you have probable alternatives and natural causes of death you cannot meet the standard of proof for murder. That is doubly true when the autopsy shows ‘no life threatening injuries.”

The officers didn’t belong in prison; but a few judges, lawyers, and, particularly, politicians should been stripped of their licenses and honors and sat behind bars.

In movies the stalwart good sheriff faces down the enraged and lawless mob. In Minnesota he leads them.

Chauvin and the other officers are innocent.

  3. It is apparent that the only way the Democrat Party can exist is to pander. But they forget there are many news clips of them espousing the opposite of what they are saying now — which shows that their moral fiber is depleted. Shame on them for putting criminals over ICE who are their fellow citizens. We will see what is left of this Party when people wake up to realize that being a centrist is the best for this country. Democrat or Republican, this is still the best country on earth. A leader without a moral consciousness is useless.

No matter what one thinks of Trump personally, he does love the ideals of the Founders. What is interesting is that as a business man, Trump has opened our eyes that profit isn’t bad and that being ‘do gooder’ without holding recipients accountability, has consequences. Look at Minnesota? The Governor knew of the fraud but chose to ignore it. Now we have to listen to his ‘word dancing’. Without accountability who is the loser other than those who think giving unconditionally is fine — until it bites you! Look at NATO, look to all our giving without accountability. We allow fraud to exist because we don’t have oversight. If this was our children draining our assets, we would say ‘stop it, grow up’. Not so with our politicians who give our money without safeguards in place. Who really profits? Certainly not the tax payers.

It is time to demand everyone in Congress and in high political positions to do no trading personally. Time for Blind Trusts — with no personal contact to account managers. Why do we allow insider trading?

  4. Tail gunner Turley is plainly assigned the same role as he was with George Floyd…., create doubt about transpired within the magats.

This one’s harder because she was a white woman named Good who will be harder to artificially villain-ize,

Either way, Turls just shills for Russian disinformation. This was sloppy work by ICE that will result in a much deserved murder 2 conviction while magats howl.

And it gets trump’s pedo boner out of the news.

  5. However, history has shown that today’s revolutionaries often become tomorrow’s reactionaries

Unfortunately, President Trump’s tariffs left America with a short supply of guillotines, which was how Maximillien Robespierre met his fate

OTOH, the Republicans of the Minnesota Legislature can construct as many guillotines as necessary by tapping some of the hundreds of millions of dollars found in airport luggage belonging to Somali money courier passengers leaving Minneapolis. Certainly one such suitcase should be able to cover the cost of enough guillotines for the long list of radical Jacobins in Minnesota, California, Oregon, Washington, District of Columbia, New York City and Illinois, just to name a few Jacobins strongholds. The Levi Jeans histrionic billionaire, Dan Goldman, could have his guillotine reinforced with the famous Levi metal rivets to reinforce the stitching.

  6. DHS has told multiple lies about the incident.
They claimed that an ICE vehicle was stuck in snow and the victim was deliberately blocking them.
    FALSE.
They claimed that the ICE shooter was hit by the vehicle and that he required hospital attention.
    FALSE.

The victim was trying to get around a vehicle in front of her that was actually stuck in snow. Videos clearly show that she pulled out perpendicular to traffic to do so. She can clearly be seen waving cars through in front of her, before attempting to wave the ICE vehicle past her. The ICE response was to leap out of their vehicle and demand that she get out of the car. Everything went south after that.

She was not deliberately blocking traffic or the ICE vehicle. The video clearly shows her waving vehicles to pass in front of her, where there was plenty of room.
She was waving the ICE vehicle to pass in front of her.
She was not trying to block traffic.

This can be seen clearly in this video starting at around 0:40

    1. Talk about lying CNN. Show the whole video. You left out the part where she blocked the ICE truck and the officer was telling her she is under arrest.

      1. Look at the second post above at 1:22

You can clearly see her waving cars including the ICE vehicle to pass in front of her.
She was trying to get around the stuck silver vehicle in front of her.
There was no attempt to block traffic.
There was no reason for ICE to get out of their vehicle.

“DHS has told multiple lies about the incident.
They claimed that an ICE vehicle was stuck in snow and the victim was deliberately blocking them.
          FALSE.”

What evidence is there that this was a false statement? None of the video clips that I’ve seen covers the entire period of time from arrival of ICE vehicles and arrival of the Pilot,

          2) “They claimed that the ICE shooter was hit by the vehicle and that he required hospital attention.
FALSE.” What evidence is there that the claim was false? The Forbes video snippet shows the officer was, in fact, in front of the vehicle. Various snippets show that after the shooting, the officer who fired appeared to have some difficulty walking as he walked slowly southbound toward where the Pilot impacted a parked vehicle and came to rest.

          3) You write: “The victim was trying to get around a vehicle in front of her that was actually stuck in snow. ”
Please identify the basis for this statement because the videos I’ve seen and reviewed with some care don’t seem to support your assertion. For example, the Fox 9 video that’s 7 minutes and 40 seconds long at the 2:05 mark shows there was no vehicle in front of her (parked along the curb) and therefore no such vehicle that was stuck in the snow. There was a white or silver SUV also diagonally parked (to the south of the Honda Pilot) with its driver door wide open and from various videos it appears it was an ICE vehicle. But there is no indication on the video that that vehicle was stuck in snow. Portland Avenue was in good condition and even the parking lane along the west side curb did not have an uncommon (for Mpls. in the winter time) accumulation of snow. Secretary Noem did not identify which particular ICE vehicle had been stuck in snow. None of the video snippets appears to cover the entire scene for the entire duration that ICE was there. So, it would seem that speculation on the accuracy of Secretary Noem’s statement needs to await discovery and disclosure of all of the evidentiary materials that may turn up. I, for one, don’t know if it’s accurate or not. It was certainly hearsay on her part because she wasn’t at the scene (unless perhaps she herself had viewed a video show an ICE vehicle stuck in the snow at that scene and with a time stamp)!

          4) “Videos clearly show that she pulled out perpendicular to traffic to do so.” Respectfully, no, they don’t. Perpendicular means 90 degrees a/k/a at a “right angle.” She instead pulled away from the curb diagonally and her car stopped, thereby blocking one (the westerly one) of the two lanes of the street which appears to be a one-way street (Portland Avenue) southbound judging from how vehicles are parked and aerial mapping of parked cars. I am presently unable to locate video evidence whether the easterly southbound lane was blocked by parked/stopped vehicles (whether ICE or not) north of the incident site, leaving only the easterly lane open to traffic. (Obviously, at the incident site, the easterly southbound lane was not so blocked).

          5) “She can clearly be seen waving cars through in front of her, before attempting to wave the ICE vehicle past her.” Whether she attempted to wave the ICE vehicle past her, knowing it to be an ICE vehicle, isn’t necessarily clear. As it pulled up, did she know it was an ICE vehicle or might she have thought it could have been an unmarked city police vehicle? The ICE vehicle’s law enforcement flashers were mounted in the front grille. The last seeming/possible wave from her appears to have occurred while the ICE vehicle was still in forward motion. Once that vehicle stopped and officers emerged, there were no other hand gestures from her that I’ve seen.

          6) “The ICE response was to leap out of their vehicle and demand that she get out of the car. Everything went south after that.” The Jake Tapper snippet at the 51 second mark shows that the passenger side officer did not leap out of the vehicle but exited at a measured rate and walked slowly toward the Honda Pilot. The driver is shown walking at a faster pace toward the Pilot (whether he leaped out of the driver seat is not shown) and he is the one who grabs the driver-side door handle and reaches in through the open window. Are you claiming that we have all the context and all the facts that led up to the making of the demand that she get out of her vehicle?

          7) “She was not deliberately blocking traffic or the ICE vehicle. The video clearly shows her waving vehicles to pass in front of her, where there was plenty of room.” Is it possible that she was intent on waving only non-ICE vehicles by?

“She was waving the ICE vehicle to pass in front of her.” Aren’t you assuming she knew it was an ICE vehicle while it was still slowly rolling forward toward her vehicle?

“She was not trying to block traffic.” Are you claiming that the video upon which you’re relying contains the entire interaction at the scene between her and ICE? Moreover, Is the issue whether she was trying to block traffic generally or block or impede ICE and its vehicles?

  7. Of course the U.S is cooked because this is its 250th year. Sir John Glubb’s 1977 24 page essay, The Fate of Empires, makes it clear that of the dozen or so empires Glubb studied, each ran out of gas at about its 250th year. In fact, the last stage, called the age of decadence, had populations enthralled by entertainment and sports. Sounds just like the U.S today.
Read Glubb to learn why this isn’t an unusual fate.

  8. Let’s look at this from a different vantage point. This woman would more likely than not be alive today had there been a sizable contingent of Minneapolis police on site, not to assist ICE, but rather for crowd control and to protect Minneapolis protesters from the results and consequences of their raged-fueled bad decisions. The Governor and Mayor have repeatedly pandered to the mob by publicly stating that neither state nor city police would assist ICE in their federal law enforcement responsibilities. I have heard (on the news) the Minneapolis police chief confirm this policy. Because he is an imbecile, Governor Walz may have an excuse. The decision by Mayor Frey for Minneapolis police to not protect ICE officers, on the other hand, was clearly a negligent one. He had the opportunity to protect this woman from the consequence of what looks like a very bad decision made on her part and he blew it. Her blood is on his hands.

    1. ICE officers are enforcing the law. People who dislike the law are not merely protesting but actively trying to obstruct. The woke municipalities refuse to do crowd control, ane the judiciary refuses to let Trump call out the National Guard.
The Constitution requires Trump to faithfully execute the laws, so it’s the Jacob Freys who will have to co-operate.

  9. One factor that many people forget.

100% of all American police officers and federal officials swear supreme loyalty to follow the U.S. Constitution – they make a promise to GOD to not violate anyone’s constitutional rights and to follow the U.S. Constitution including the 1st, 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th, 8th, 9th and 14th Amendments.

Not a single police officer or federal official swears a supreme Oath of Office “to protect & serve”. That is their motto and mission that must circumscribe their Oath of Office (must circumscribe the U.S. Constitution). They must protect & serve within constitutional legal boundaries.

So why would any law enforcement official support a politician convicted of 34 felonies that bragged he could shoot someone on 5th Avenue with impunity. In 2016, he was caught on tape bragging he could grab women like a bowling ball. Why would any real law enforcement official support such a politician?

This politician realized that many (maybe most) of the nation’s police-chiefs and police-unions support “Unconstitutional Authoritarianism”. Many police-chiefs really don’t support a constitutional rule of law system and don’t support their own Oath of Office – required to hold police powers.

Many police-chiefs perceive themselves as the law in their own little fiefdoms. Many PCs don’t view themselves as followers of laws. That’s the only reason they support a politician convicted of 34 felonies with no respect for any laws.

Average Americans no longer trust many police-chiefs or federal agency. In 2025, we no longer have an American legal system. We have a lawless unconstitutional authoritarian system thanks to Trump and police-chiefs embracing a 34 time convicted felon instead of their Oath of Office.

Note: this in no any is meant to demean the poor brave selfless police officers forced to follow orders from these types of police-chiefs and agency heads. The problem is at the top t that control their agency’s culture.

    1. Trump’s “crime” was to reimburse his attorney for an expense Cohen made on Trump’s behalf.
Cohen funded the Stormy Daniels payoff by taking out a HELOC on his residence.
Trump reimbursed him over 11 months, beginning the January after the election.
The prosecution counted 3 fenonies per month: Cohen’s invoice, Trump’s check, and the TO journal entry.
All these purported crimes occurred AFTER the election. They thus could not have been a violation of New York Election Law 17-152.

  10. “the officer had a fraction of a second to decide whether to fire his weapon ”

For those inclined to imagine that “fraction of a second” when speculating how they themselves might’ve responded, here’s what you should know: you can’t do it sitting on your couch or in front of a keyboard. Absent the highly stressful state the agitators and assailants had already induced in that ICE agent, absent the burdens of duty, absent the horrors of experience, and absent the very real fear of injury or death, no one, not even someone who has personally experienced such a situation, can recreate the context of the moment that resulted in this particular shooting.

Based on my extensive experience it is all but guaranteed that most of you, in forming your worthless conjecture, never imagined that:

    — you froze in fear and were rundown by Ms. Good
    — after diving out of the way with your firearm holstered you slipped on the icy surface and were rundown by Ms. Good
    — you jumped to safety only to see the car race away and rundown some other innocent(s)
    — you tried to jump out of the way but your gear got hung up on the bumper and you were dragged to a horrific death
    — after you jumped to safety the clearly unbalanced Ms. Good put the SUV into reverse and ran down several of your fellow officers

No, far more likely is that in your every imaginary scenario you did the right thing, everything turned out okay, and you were congratulated on your courage and judgment. In other words, you imagined everything except the real world.

    1. From eyewitness, this is not this woman’s first rodeo when it comes to injecting herself into ICE operations.

  11. False repetitions of obvious obfuscations of facts, that’s the lefts modus operandi. Their mendacity is something to behold, where actual film footage is available, yet the facts are not accepted but fostered as half truths or pure fiction. A slight modification to a quote attributed to President Lincoln: You can fool collectivists all of the time, all liberals some of the time, but you cannot fool all of us all the time.

Quoting in part from William Blake’s ‘The Liar’

    Deceiver, dissembler
    Your trousers are alight
    ….
    What red devil of mendacity
Grips your soul with such tenacity?
    ….
    What infernal serpent
Has lent you his forked tongue?
From what pit of foul deceit
    Are all these whoppers sprung?

    Deceiver, dissembler
    Your trousers are alight
    From what pole or gallows
Do they dangle in the night?

  12. There should be lots of police body camera footage to have a clearer idea of what happened. Hopefully the DOJ won’t obstruct Justice and release all of that footage.

    1. DOJ is already obstructing justice.
They have refused to allow local law enforcement to interview witnesses, and have spirited the shooter out of state.

The coverup is well under way.

  13. I watched the video confrontation on a 4K display over and over.
I’d like to give this woman credit where credit is due, but I can’t.
When she used a 4000lb-5000lb SUV to mow down that officer standing by the left fender then the trouble started. Roll the video.

    1. The ICE agent shot her point blank when he was standing on the driver’s side of the car. You’re an idiot.

          1. Nope. She gunned her 4000lb SUV. The officer on left front fender, not the other officer at the drivers side door you moron. By the way get an eye exam.

Hey Darren, you’re good at video analysis. How about your take?

      1. Don’t just make crap up.

The agent fired from in front of the car. The bullet went through the front windshield.

    2. No, she did not “mow down” anyone. As “Anonymous” below points out, Renee was shot point blank when he was standing on the driver’s side of her car, and she was STEERING AWAY from him. The vehicle was moving when she was shot, which created a public safety crisis, and ICE Barbie and Trump are proven liars. People should be outraged when the government doesn’t just kill people without cause, refuses to be held accountable and lies about it.

    3. Why did CBS leave out the beginning of the video?
The don’t show where she pulled in front of the ice truck to block it. Yes the had their emergence lights on.

  14. Related to both Venezuela and Minneapolis, If one reads the posts and comments on X, it is apparent that the MAGA movement has become reinvigorated with Neocon militarist blood-lust related to both international engagement and domestic dissent. Under an unconstrained Trump regime, the Security State über alles has been completely re-sanctified.

I used to occasionally close my notes by stating “Stick a fork in America – because it’s cooked.” This time I mean it.

    1. This country has been on the edge of collapse since the beginning, if the hillbillies ever took control. As much as I dislike our history of the JP Morgan and the Rand Corporation types running the country and squeezing America for every penny, they were a bulwark against the inbred and Neanderthal anti-science ultra right wing populists. These idiots have put an idiot like Trump in power who looks at Greenland, in which Denmark is entirely open as a NATO partner to allow the US to do whatever is needed to militarily protect the arctic, and wants to put his name on something and is willing to break the greatest multi-country alliance in the history of the world to saber rattle, and the Tumptards love it. Stick a fork in America is right.

  15. A national FBI and police expert pointed out that the driver’s wheels were turned away from all mask-wearing officers not displaying badges.

One masked officer (dressed as a street thug) also distracted the driver reaching inside the vehicle, so the driver might not have even seen the other masked officer dressed as a street thug.

Not sure a Minnesota jury will buy the self-defense argument, if the Minnesota AG and district attorney indicts the federal officer.

      1. No it wouldn’t. Murder is a state offense. WHY won’t ICE Barbie identify Renee’s murderer by name? They probably spirited him out of the state to prevent his arrest.

    1. Ano
national FBI and police expert pointed out that the driver’s wheels were turned away from all mask-wearing officers not displaying badges.

      Post it…

  16. My quite aged eyes are apparently not strong enough to determine from the various videos whether any impact with the officer was merely a graze. But clearly the officer was not even knocked to the ground, so it would seem perhaps more probable that the impact was at the left fender rather than at the left, driver side of front bumper or the very front driver side corner. And the officer gives no sign of any life-threatening injury as he does some slow walking–perhaps manifesting a limp from the vehicle impacting him–toward where the vehicle collided with a parked car..

The left’s argument–already being broadcast–is that after reversing, the driver turns the steering wheel to the right (as easily seen from the camera shot having a view from the rear) and therefore away from the left (driver side) of the car which was the side the firing officer was clearly on. So, the argument is that she wasn’t intending to strike him with her vehicle . If she were–the argument goes–she would have driven straight ahead. I am not sure what her intent in terms of striking the officer was. At a minimum, it seems to be reckless behavior on her part. But, her intent clearly was to willfully defy law enforcement’s apparent order to exit the vehicle and and/or to interfere with and/or impede ICE’s federal law enforcement mission at the scene in violation of federal law. 18 U.S.C. Section 111.

An officer can use lethal force to protect himself from death or serious bodily harm but only if his beliefs in the imminent nature of such harm and the necessity of using lethal force to prevent such harm are objectively reasonable. Were these his beliefs and, if so, were they objectively reasonable? Or did he instead fire to prevent her from fleeing the scene after she had disobeyed the agents’ commands and after the ICE agents had apparently already suffered frustrating and irritating disruptions from her according to DHS’s Secretary Noem’s statement? Or was it some of both in his mind? If a jury finds that he fired only to prevent her from fleeing the scene, then I think there might be a real legal problem for him.

I really don’t know. Did the officer know she was turning the vehicle away from him in that split second? Could he have easily moved out of the way (even if he legally wasn’t required to not stand his ground)? I don’t know. Assuming the shots were fired while the officer was in a position to be struck by the forward-moving vehicle, how would instantly killing the driver with a head shot prevented the impact with his body of an already-in-motion vehicle that now has a dead driver? It’s also possible that the shots were filed only after the officer had already been struck and he was no longer in the path of the vehicle. If killing the driver couldn’t prevent the impact, then how is that self-defense? I don’t know.

This is the stuff of which law suits are made.

The hospital report including photographic evidence of the severity of the officer’s injury will, I think, be quite important.

Whether federal law’s definition of “assault” has a strict mens rea element of “intent” or a relaxed standard of mere “recklessness” on the part of the driver may also come into play under 18 U.S.C. Section 111.. I hope Professor Turley weighs in on this aspect!

    1. You are the first person in the comments besides me to use the words “I don’t know” and to have the humility to recognize that there are aspects of this event that remained undetermined. Congratulations for having the common sense not to simply rush to man the barricades for your side, whatever that side might be.

      1. Good point. Rush to judgment was a phrase Johnny Cochran used to characterize the O.J. Simpson “trial of the century.”

How does a guy like Dan Goldman get elected?

    2. The “5 Ws” (Who, What, When, Where, Why)
      1. We know who,
      2. What was going on (circumstances)?
      3. We know when,
      4. We know where,
5.a Why was ICE there in the first place?
5.b Why was Good there in the first place?

      1. @Anonymous

I would imagine this is why the immediate response was to get organizing on the chaos – digging into this woman’s life would likely reveal she was paid to be there, and that makes her employers the culpable ones.

        1. If you’re assuming she was paid to be there, we can assume you’re a pedophile supporting Trump’s hiding of pedophiles. Same jump to conclusions.

      2. A public-data-only LEXIS search shows Good’s home address in Minneapolis (south and west of Cedar Lake) being about 4 miles away from and approximately due west of the scene. So, if this information is accurate, it would seem that the residential neighborhood that was the scene of of the incident was not Good’s home neighborhood.

    3. There was NO reason to shoot Renee Good–NONE whatsoever. If they felt they HAD to apprehend her, all they had to do was take down her license plate number and have her picked up a block or two away. That’s what experienced, professional law enforcement officers are trained to do, but these ICE agents are neither. Law enforcement cannot lawfully use deadly force because someone is fleeing when they are not posing a risk. She had no weapon. She was NOT steering towards the ICE agents–the video evidence proves that, and, as Rev. Sharpton pointed out, if we didn’t have video evidence, eyewitnesses would be called liars–but we DO have the video evidence, and Renee Good’s killing is indefensible. Another point–professional law enforcement officers are trained NOT to get in front of a moving vehicle–you take down the plate and radio to other officers. MAGA tries to make the claim that Renee Good was a threat to public safety–she was NOT! Shooting someone in the head who is operating a moving vehicle on a public street CREATES a threat to public safety–if she hadn’t struck parked vehicles, she could have run up on the sidewalk and struck pedestrians, of which there were plenty. Adding insult to injury are ICE Barbie and Trump who repeatedly lied and attacked Renee Good, plus ICE’s refusal to allow a physician to try to help her. This is outrageous and people SHOULD take to the streets to protest this murder and the lying of Trump and ICE Barbie.

      1. 1) You write: “Another point–professional law enforcement officers are trained NOT to get in front of a moving vehicle–you take down the plate and radio to other officers.” Doesn’t the video show that the firing officer was in front of the vehicle while it was not yet in motion? 2) You write: “She had no weapon. ” Do you agree that a vehicle can be used as a weapon? 3) You write: “She was NOT steering towards the ICE agents.” Do you deny that after reversing the Pilot, she caused the vehicle to accelerate forward with some rapidity and that doing so caused her to strike the officer who was already standing there before she had placed the car in motion?

        1. 1. NO–the “firing officer” shot her at least once through the driver’s side window–maybe twice, and there was a bullet hole in the windshield too–but she was steering away from whoever shot that hole in the windshield and did NOT strike him; 2. whether a vehicle can be used as a weapon is irrelevant–she was NOT using her vehicle as a weapon–she was trying to get away and steered AWAY from her murderer, who nevertheless shot her at point blank range in her head for absolutely no valid reason; 3. her vehicle was in motion when the murderer shot her in the head–that created a situation that could have resulted in pedestrians getting injured, which is why professional law enforcement officers who are properly trained will not do this. There’s NO evidence that the “officer” was struck at all–did you see him walk toward her SUV to revel in the glory of blowing her away? He did not limp and had no apparent injuries, but I have no doubt that MAGA will tell him to claim he was somehow injured because Noem and Trump have already lied about this. If he HAD been struck by the Honda Pilot, he would have been knocked off of his feet or at least knocked to the side, but even if he had been struck, professional law enforcement officers, who have been properly trained, are taught NOT to stand in the path of a moving vehicle OR, as in this case, try to open the door of a moving vehicle when it is obvious that the driver is not going to surrender. If someone does not put the vehicle in park and surrender, and they’re trying to drive away–you let them and just radio ahead with the plate number and description of the vehicle so they can get picked up. The SCOTUS barred using deadly force to try to stop someone who is fleeing and who isn’t threatening a law enforcement officer. There’s no excuse here. None. They killed the mother of 3 children, one of whom is just 6.

      2. Jezzz watch the whole video.
She blocked the ICE truck on purpose. The officer got out and told her she was under arrest. She hit the gas.

    4. Anonymous writes, “My quite aged eyes are apparently not strong enough to determine from the various videos whether any impact with the officer was merely a graze.”

The officer got 33 stitches at the hospital, according to V.P. Vance, so unless someone can prove the officer slashed himself on purpose, but you might need to talk to your optometrist.

      1. I misreported. The officer got 33 stitches from a previous injury related to ICE activities.

Maybe I should have my eyes checked 🙁

  17. Turley–you are a real piece of work–you managed, in one post, to carry the MAGA lie that the murder of Renee Good was justified AND to attack Rep. Goldman, all in one account. MAGA world is terrified because the majority of Americans are repulsed by Trump, ICE and his historically-incompetent “cabinet”. And, because what they do is indefensible, in fear of the midterms and losing power, they attack Democrats, because if you can’t win (which they know they can’t) the next best thing is to trash the likely winners and prominent Democrats–maybe you can peel off some votes that way or get some voters to stay home. Also, they’re trying to rig the midterms by trying to add “safe” Republican seats–something that failed in Indiana at least. Turley–you are trying to coin the phrase “age of rage”–everything about Trump, MAGA and the enabling Republicans IS outrageous–the normal reaction SHOULD BE rage. So, calling it “age of rage”, you are downplaying just how awful Trump is and how impotent the Republicans in Congress are because they don’t rein him in. Congress is a co-equal branch of government. They are SUPPOSED to serve as a check and balance against Trump and his over-reach. Democrats can’t do it alone.

ICE Barbie, cosplaying yesterday as a cowgirl with her full makeup and hair extensions all in place, stood before a microphone and LIED–lied about an ICE vehicle being stuck in snow, lied about Renee Good deliberately trying to run down the trigger-happy murderer who killed her in cold blood (she actually steered her Honda Pilot AWAY from him when he shot her in the head), shooting her at least twice, maybe 3 times, lied about her being a “domestic terrorist”, lied about her being a threat to the public and to ICE, and lied about the murderer being “injured”–he walked away from his crime, clearly uninjured. AND, ICE physically blocked a physician who was trying to render aid to Renee. Trump added to the cacophony of lies by attacking Ms. Good, calling her various names and lying about the incident.

What is the Trump death toll? Is anyone keeping score? Let’s see–there’s Ashli Babbitt, Renee Good, the Cuban and Venezuelan soldiers killed during the kidnapping of the Venezuelan President, the hundreds of thousands of people who died unnecessarily due to COVID because they believed Trump’s lies and took quack cures, and the hundreds of thousands of African people who died of starvation after Trump cut off USAID. HOW MANY people have to die because of Trump’s ego before the Republicans in Congress do what they KNOW needs to be done?

  18. If Goldman isn’t left enough I have a hard time imagining who would be left enough for the Democrat base. Pol Pot?

    1. Cultivating- why is it that all these extremely wealthy democrats want us to live in apartment blocks or communes. When wouldn’t dream of living this way themselves!

  19. While I agree with everything in this column I would also note that the responses of Prez Trump and Sec’y Noem have been equally unhinged from the other side. The Prof likes to brand this the age of rage and the slogan certainly fits here. There is apparently no room for “leaders” on either side to call for calm and reasoned review of the entire circumstances of the incident. Instead each side takes their predictable positions and pander to the politics. It’s like they want civil war for their own political purposes.

    1. Gary
I find it odd how the left supported the murder of a woman on J6. Yet the women put her car in from in from of ICE and blocked it it’s path. is wrong. Nuts.

      1. People are ignoring the bullethole in the windshield on the driver’s side.
If this was the fatal shot, a line drawn between the bullet hole and the point of impact should clearly show the ICE agent in front of the SUV.

        1. Then WHY did the murderer shoot her in the head through the driver’s side window, if she was already dead?

      2. Except–Ashli Babbitt was NOT murdered–she had broken into the Capitol and was trying to enter the Speaker’s Lobby despite knowing that there was a police officer on the other side pointing a gun at her. She was there because she believed Trump’s lies.

Except–Renee Good had moved her car away from ICE, had already motioned another vehicle to pass, which it did, and was steering away when she was murdered.

        No comparison whatsoever.

  20. I haven’t seen video yet with a clear view of the officer’s perspective. Whatever happened here — and obviously it is a terrible tragedy for the woman and her family — THIS DID NOT HAVE TO HAPPEN. I blame the Left, including all the elected Democrats, who have encouraged resistance by their constituents. It’s just insane that people are encouraged by elected officials not to cooperate when confronted by armed law enforcement agents. This tragedy was predictable and I bet many people on the Left are actually gleeful.
