Leading Democrat Calls for Reparations for Illegal Immigrants

As Chicago and other blue cities move toward reparations for African Americans, Rep. Pramila Jayapal (D, Wa.) wants reparations for illegal immigrants for the trauma caused by immigration enforcement. At the same time, various Democrats are making clear that they want to entirely defund and eliminate Immigration and Customs Enforcement. So, after the Biden Administration allowed in millions over an open border, Democrats would eliminate ICE and some like Jayapal would pay illegal immigrants reparations.

Rep. Jayapal declared on Friday:

“They need to be brought before us, and they need to be held account [sic] for the trauma that they have created, and we are going to have to have some form of reparation for the kids and the families that have been traumatized through all of this.”

While not calling for reparations, other democrats have picked up the theme that someone has to pay for the trauma caused by immigration enforcement.

Rep. Maxine Dexter (D, Or.) echoed the mantra of Democratic members that “The administration has terrorized our communities and mine in the Willamette Valley.”

Rep. Christian Menefee (D-TX) told constituents, “I can’t imagine seeing my kid in a jail cell just because of where he was born, just because of what language he speaks at home.”

Jayapal fought back tears in her “shadow hearing” on Friday after calling for reparations, stating, “I still cannot believe that we are doing this to our own children.”

U.S.-born President Donald Trump is the outsider, Jayapal argued: “When the founders put into the Constitution the idea that Congress would have power, they assumed that the party that was in control of Congress would stand up to a dictatorial, authoritarian president.”

Jayapal did not mention the many American children killed by what she called “our” migrants.

The question becomes, if more groups get reparations, when does this become a form of wealth redistribution? Indeed, according to these members, much of the country has been traumatized by the Trump Administration. What is missing in cities like Chicago facing economic meltdowns is any notion of financial limits. Instead, Democrats are pushing tax hikes and wealth taxes to cover bloated budgets and growing deficits.

  1. “Jayapal argued: “When the founders put into the Constitution the idea”

This is undoubtedly the Constitution to which Jayapal actually swears her allegiance:

Constitution (Fundamental law) of the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics
    https://www.marxists.org/reference/archive/stalin/works/1936/12/05.htm

“The state flag of the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics is of red cloth with the sickle and hammer depicted in gold in the upper corner near the staff and above them a five-pointed star bordered in gold. The ratio of the width to the length is 1:2.”

  2. Reparations are simply the spinning, glitzy ball in the center of the dance floor that distracts the public as their elected representatives rifle through their electorate’s pockets.
Too bad, it once was a beautiful state and had a vibrant and exciting city to visit, shop, enjoy the museums, shop some more, watch the Bulls, the White Sox, the Cubs, great plays and was safe. It was a real jewel for the midwest.

    1. Made an error. Mishit my e-mails. Mistakenly wrote this while thinking of the Chicago column. Just Transpose to the other column or just ignore.

      1. Illegal aliens committing abortion, rape… rape-rape, pedophilia, torture, and fraud with Democratic affirmative action and redistributive change schemes in sanctuary jurisdictions. American civil liberties unburdened.

  3. “[W]e are going to have to have some form of reparation for the kids and the families that have been traumatized through all of this.” (Rep. Jayapal)

    Excellent idea.

    Start with Laken Riley’s family.

      1. Laken was one of diverse, excess victims of Diversity (e.g. racism, sexism, ageism, etc), Equivocation, and Indifference, immigration reform and a subsequent “burden” who was aborted and sequestered in a sanctuary state where such Choices are an ethical imperative under the Pro-Choice religion and liberal license following progressive principles.

  4. It’s time for We The People to put a stop to this madness once and for all. At first it was somewhat humorous. Then irritating. Now, dangerous. Threatening. Even malignant. A disease that must be treated before the host dies. The treatment? Unabashed resistance and a determination that those who espouse this insanity never hold office again.

  5. Pramila Jayapal seems to be the insanest of the insane left. Her complete disconnect from any position that could possibly be considered rational is stunning. The fact that a group of American citizens wish her to be their representative to our government is beyond appalling and suggests that the demise of the Great American Experiment may be closer to it’s collapse than any of us realize.

    1. a group of American citizens wish her to be their representative to our government is beyond appalling … Appalling? I have a call call here from 1620, that want you go back.

  6. Jayapal and the rest of the Democrat leaders and influencers are not morons. They are deliberately trying to destroy our nation. “. . . .all enemies foreign and domestic” includes them. Until we recognize that and openly state it we will have to deal with these proposals as if they were honest and sincere. The people that vote for Democrats are the morons.

  7. $$Reparations Hussle$$ along with the Globalist Great Replacement Hussle and as usual the Left Wing Radical NUTS/Morons as Jayapal lead the charge.

  8. Wonder if I can get reparations for a relative who was wounded in the Civil War fighting to free slaves, became a prisoner at Andersonville. Finally returning home but not able to support his family due to injuries.

  9. Reparations for any living US citizen who lived and worked as a slave in the United States of America prior to President Lincon’s proclamation sounds just fine. I’d support a number like USD1B per recipient.

    Jayapal is a moron.

      1. Both my wife’s grandfathers were put on a train to Pittsburgh after arriving at Ellis Isand. They were given the choice of working above ground in a steel mill, or below ground, in a coal mine.
Sadly, both chose the mines, where they contracted the black lung disease that would end one’s life in his 40s, and the other’s in his 30s. My future mother-in-law became the primary breadwinner at 16, after her father died, and the oldest left home to start a family of his own.
Her parents are gone now, though her mother made it to 101.
Can my wife get reparations for her family’s sufferings? Slaves, at least, worked in the open air. They didn’t breathe coal dust.

  10. Representative Jayapal is a vicious self-centered narcissist. I don’t know if she’s stupid but she’s certainly evil. I can see that she has no understanding of economics or of the constitution of our civil society. I of course know nothing about her family history but I feel the need to use the late great Justice Oliver Wendell Holmes Jr.’s quote, “Three generations of imbeciles is enough.”

    1. What diff. does her fam. history make?
      No understanding of eco?
So based on those points, she’s an imbecile?

  11. Jayapal owes reparations to the family of Sheridan Gorman. Jayapal doesn’t even know who she was, but one of Jayapal’s beloved undocumented wonderful amazing great people murdered her. Where is Jayapal’s concern for dead and raped and assaulted and defrauded Americans? Nowhere. It doesn’t exist. Jayapal could not care any less.

  12. According to a 2024 study published in the Russell Sage Foundation Journal, the U.S. federal government has administered more than 70 programs of “reparatory compensation” for various groups. These programs have compensated millions of Americans for harms including personal injury, illness, natural disasters, market failures, and social injustices.

Specific groups that have received federal reparations or compensation include:

Japanese Americans: In 1988, the government paid $20,000 per person and an apology to approximately 60,000 living survivors of WWII internment.
Unangans (Aleuts): In 1988, the government provided $12,000 and an apology to 450 survivors of WWII internment, alongside a $6.4 million trust fund.
Native Americans: The government has paid partial restitution to thousands of tribal descendants for mismanaged land earnings dating back to the 1880s, including a $492 million settlement with 17 tribes in 2016 for resource mismanagement.
Radiation Victims: Starting in the 1990s, laws were passed to compensate approximately 135,000 victims in 12 western states and the Marshall Islands for exposure to nuclear testing, totaling $28 billion.
Tuskegee Syphilis Study Victims: In 1974, the government reached a $10 million out-of-court settlement with living African American males and their immediate families who were denied treatment during the study.
Police Torture Survivors: In 2015, the City of Chicago granted cash payments, free college education, and social services to 57 living survivors of police torture, totaling $5.5 million.
Forced Sterilization Survivors: Since 2016, the state of Virginia and others have awarded $25,000 to survivors of state-mandated forced sterilizations.
Local and state-level reparations have also been awarded to other groups, such as African American residents in Asheville, North Carolina ($2.1 million in 2020), Evanston, Illinois residents impacted by housing discrimination ($2021 law), and Black and Latino families in Palm Springs, California ($5.9 million in 2024). Despite these numerous precedents, the federal government has never provided direct compensation for the enslavement of nearly 4 million people.

    1. 4 million huh. I’d be willing to help out, but first I want to meet them so I can personally put the money in their hands.

  13. I am told that Ms. Jayapal is a member of the US House of Representatives, sworn to uphold the US Constitution against all enemies foreign and domestic. But who, exactly, is she representing? Asking for a friend.
