“F**k It…Just Do It”: Carville Lays Out Democratic Plan to Add States and Pack the Court To Retain Power

Various Democrats have been openly discussing their plans after retaking power to change the system so they never lose power again. Democratic strategist James Carville has been one of the most vocal and returned to the subject this week in laying out how they will make D.C. and Puerto Rico states and pack the Supreme Court with a liberal majority.

On his podcast with Al Hunt, Carville explained, “If the Democrats win the presidency and both houses of Congress, I think on day one, they should make Puerto Rico [and] D.C. a state, and they should expand the Supreme Court to 13. F— it. Eat our dust.”

Notably, this week, New Jersey just elected a radical new member, Analilia Mejia, who ran on packing the Court and other radical agenda items. While some of us have written about the expansion of the Court, these politicians and pundits are pushing for the packing, not just gradual expanding, of the Court.

However, Carville (curiously on a national podcast) seriously suggested that Democrats should keep the plan quiet: “Don’t run on it. Don’t talk about it. Just do it.”

Call it the Nike School of Constitutional Law.

The need of the left to pack the Supreme Court is obvious. Many of the proposals coming from the left are clearly unconstitutional. You will need a partisan majority to make the political changes that these figures hope will give the Democrats a lock on power for years to come.

Years ago, Harvard professor Michael Klarman laid out a radical agenda to change the system to guarantee Republicans “will never win another election.” However, he warned that “the Supreme Court could strike down everything I just described.” Therefore, the court must be packed in advance to allow these changes to occur.

Likewise, Carville previously explained how this process of how the pack-to-power plan would work:

“I’m going to tell you what’s going to happen. A Democrat is going to be elected in 2028. You know that. I know that. The Democratic president is going to announce a special transition advisory committee on the reform of the Supreme Court. They’re going to recommend that the number of Supreme Court justices go from nine to 13. That’s going to happen, people.”

The push for court packing and war chests on the left remains unchanged despite conservatives on the Court ruling against the Administration on major cases. Carville and others cannot claim that the conservative justices are robotically voting with the Administration, but it does not matter. They want a Court that will consistently uphold the changes being planned by Democratic strategists.

The fact that these changes would come after the 250th anniversary of the most successful democratic system in history is a crushing irony. However, it is notable that the Democrats want Congress and the courts to push through these changes, not the public. The public remains opposed to court packing and making D.C. a state. That is why Carville wants candidates to keep quiet on the plan and run, like Virginia’s Abigail Spanberger, as faux moderates. Then, as in Virginia, they can move to fundamentally change districts and rules to guarantee their hold on power.

It is a mentality summed up by NEA President Becky Pringle:

The question is whether rage politics can convince a people to destroy the very democratic system that has brought centuries of stability and prosperity.

  1. In age of Trump, Democrats resort to running as faux Republicans to ‘get a foot in the door’
Stalking horses or sincere concerns with issues? Democrats are running as Republicans with increasing frequency as their polling shows that many of their hallmark issues are not popular with voters. Ronan’s past public statements urged Democrats to “infiltrate Republican spaces,” “primary them,” and run as Republicans in “deep red districts” to “get a foot in the door.”

Well, we have seen it with VA gov Spanberger run as a faux moderate Democrat only to show her true colors as a far left one. Now the only way for Democrats to win is to fake being Republicans.

    1. @Upstate

It’s true, and it’s insanity. We all need to be very clear about who candidates are before voting. What is also clear is dems cannot win modern elections without lying or cheating. At some point enough of us need to realize the party has been captured, the whole party.

      1. James,
I think it is a clear sign and indicator of how far left the Democrats have gone. Although I would argue it is a small but loud group that is in control of the party. And of how unpopular their polices have become, they have to fake their way in winning a race by posing as Republicans to win votes.
As I noted with Spanberger yesterday, she is the exact kind of low life who gladly would undermine an election, pretending to be something she is not. And be so smug about it with her, in your face, “What are you doing to do about it?” attitude. She has no shame that she willingly duped moderate Democrats into voting for her.

  2. What Carville is advocating, whether or not he has the wit and perception to realize it (I’m skeptical on that point), is inciting a revolution. I still sincerely hope that does not occur, but I am almost past the point of resisting the idea. If the DemonRats succeed in seizing quasi-permanent power in the way Carville envisions, it will be time (if not past time) to institute the latter part of FAFO.

  3. “Skeletor” Carville should just shut his mouth and go away quietly. A democrat is unlikely to be elected president in 2028 because their bench is empty and bankrupted by the far left ideologies they keep pushing. The GOP will get the SAVE act finalized and passed so they won’t be rescued by illegal immigrant voting again. Depending how the 2026 election goes, the GOP will put roadblocks in place to prevent the very things that Skeletor is crowing about.

    1. “The GOP will get the SAVE act finalized and passed”

Do you seriously think those self-involved and self-entitled parasites are going to get that done? I wish I agreed with you, but I very much doubt they will end up passing anything unless it is so watered down as to be meaningless.

    2. No. It is not very often the truth escapes a Democrats lips. He should be on every billboard, plus 12 times a day on media advertising on every channel. Change is hard to sell. Even the dumbest among us knows the nation will divide into regions leaving many states in poverty. California made it clear that billionaires and Big Everything will pick up and move when crazy comes to their door.
“Don’t hide from crazy, embrace it and smother it”.

  4. “The question is whether rage politics can convince a people to destroy the very democratic system that has brought centuries of stability and prosperity.”
The answer is yes. We’re toast. They will get back into power and they will do exactly as Carville is urging them to do. They are following so closely to Goebbels’ how-to propaganda script.

  5. It has come to our attention while observing your machinations during your attempted restoration that you may not fully understand our constitutional system. Thus, we are writing to bring to your attention two features of our democracy: The importance of preserving historical records and the ill-advised gluttony of an American feminist icon wallowing in regressive Middle Eastern states’ payola.

If you, Hillary Rodham Clinton, are willing to cite your mother’s funeral to get sympathy for ill-advisedly deleting 30,000 emails, it just makes us want to sigh: O.K., just take it. If you want it that bad, go ahead and be president and leave us in peace. (Or war, if you have your hawkish way.) You’re still idling on the runway, but we’re already jet-lagged.

When the Rogue State of Bill began demonizing Monica Lewinsky as a troubled stalker, you knew you could count on the complicity of feminists and Democratic women in Congress. Bill’s female cabinet members and feminist supporters had no choice but to accept the unappetizing quid pro quo: The Clintons would give women progressive public policies as long as the women didn’t assail Bill for his regressive private behavior with women.

Keeping a single account mingling business and personal with your own server wasn’t about “convenience.” It was about expedience. You became judge and jury on what’s relevant because you didn’t want to leave digital fingerprints for others to retrace. You could have had Huma carry two devices if you really couldn’t hoist an extra few ounces. You insisted on piggybacking on Bill’s server, even though his aides were worried about hackers, because you were gaming the system for 2016. (Or even 2012.)

It depends upon what the meaning of @ is.

  6. The gop should push legislation to keep the supreme court at 9 and if the dems vote against it, then the gop should pack the courts before the midterms

  7. Mr Carville seems to have, at times, lost his mind however that does not mean he is wrong about what he professes. He does not talk about what happens after the Democrats do that. I would hope that they realize that there is a large part of the population that would not sit idly by and quietly let it happen. I suspect the country would descend into violence, probably slowly at first with periodic assassinations and then an increasing amount of extremely violent demonstrations and then possibly open fighting.
The population is quite capable of seeing the fact that it would be a grab for perpetual power. Mr Carville also fails to see that the professed views of the radical left seem to have a diminishing favor in the population as we move along.
That seems to make their admiration for such a power grab as a sign of increasing desperation. Just like so many of these Democratic politicians and main stream media are pushing the proposition that Trump is going to cancel the midterms. Is their desperation that great?
With Mr. Carville’s loud, insane rants, he makes himself a very inviting target for some half-baked mind out there.

    1. GEB,
I really do hope you are wrong about the assassination, violence part.
But I could also see it happening. It is not far fetched when a sizeable part of the populace celebrated the assassination of Charlie Kirk, or lamented the shooter was not a better shot in the Trump assassination attempt.
But then we also have to consider the far left Democrats who intentionally dupe their own party members into thinking they are voting for a moderate Democrat who has no shame in flouting their deception after they win the election. They could very well be alienating many moderate, centrist Democrats, all the while calling them dupes to their faces.

      1. Upstate.
If the dems re-open the border again. You can be sure violence will return and everyday folks will fight back to protect their loved ones.

  8. Most of us knew the Plan after Russiagate was fully exposed. Between these comments and the disrupt the System of Justice (the Judicial Branch Coup is real). Instituting Marxism and converting to Communism is their sole goal.

  9. I read the article, it doesn’t say anything about court packing. Carville is simply talking about adding more than 9 members for America’s fast growing population of almost 350 million Americans.

Court packing is what Mitch McConnell and MAGA Republicans did by robbing millions of Obama voters of about 100 federal judges and a U.S. Supreme Court pick.

The vast majority of Obama’s judge picks were well qualified and had no criminal record (unlike our president convicted of 34 felonies). Not convicted by Democrats, convicted by non-partisan citizen juries. People like you and me found Trump guilty of 34 felony crimes.

The supposed reason Mitch McConnell and MAGA Republicans rejected about 100 perfectly qualified judges (court packing) was that decades ago Democrats rejected 1 judge that committed fraud during the Watergate crimes of Richard Nixon and most of his cabinet members.

Democrats rejected 1 judge unfit for office and MAGA Republicans retaliated by rejecting 100 judges perfectly qualified for office. That’s court packing!

Years ago, Jonathan Turley wrote several articles about expanding the U.S. Supreme Court in a fair manner that benefits both parties. Turley proposed expanding the high court to 19 justices (more court packing than Carville suggested).

    1. To be fair, democrats have stop rejecting unfit SCOTUS judges and put sotomajor and jackson on the bench

    2. Funny how you fail to mention the “blockade” Democrats put on all of GWB’s nominees. Democrats refused to hold votes on them. Lawrence Tribe, Bruce Ackermann, and other far left “academics” advised Democrats to do so. A few had the life put on hold so long waiting for a vote that they withdrew their name. Miguel Estrada was one. Democrat Dick Durbin believed he was being nominated to the DC Appeals Court for the purpose of eventually elevating him to SCOTUS, and Durbin wrote in a memo he did not want Republicans to nominate the first Hispanic to SCOTUS, so he needed to have his nomination derailed.

Before that, Democrats tried their damnest to take out Thomas and succeeded in taking out Bork for SCOTUS – despite the fact he had been UNANIMOUSLY confirmed to the DC Appeals Court..

Democrats began the process of filibustering and refusing to vote on GOP nominees. You are either mad that Republicans decided to play by their rules; you are ignorant of the history; or you are dishonest.

      Pick one. None are flattering.

  10. They keep accusing their opponents of being a threat to democracy but in fact they are the real threat, to the constitution and all the freedoms we enjoy. They continue to telegraph who they are and what they’ll do by their accusations.

  11. The Ragin’ Cajun is a lunatic…, and an intemperate one too. If he and the radical Democrats would be able to implement their communist plans of making DC a state (yikes) and packing the Supreme Court (double yikes) if they recaptured the presidency, why cannot the GOP and 47 “quietly” explore a third term for President Trump, all consistent with the 22nd Amendment?

  12. “Long-time trusted Clinton confidant James Carville inadvertently admitted over the weekend on ABC’s This Week that Hillary Clinton probably used a private email address and server in order to avoid Congressional oversight or scrutiny.”

NOOOOOOOOO! Ya think, Jamesbo? What a genius

  13. Ironic that the “liberal party” of tolerance, equality and inclusion openly promotes to disenfranchise 1/2 the country. The Dems have purged moderates and openly advocate for a socialist authoritarian system. I wish Carville would drop wearing LSU clothing. He’s an embarrassment to the school and the SEC.

  14. The only way your children and grandchildren benefit is if the two parties enact strong reforms to return to a constitutional rule of law system – simply return to the American model of government. Strengthen enforcement of crimes against the U.S. Constitution.

For several decades, when one party in power breaks the law and is disloyal to their Oath of Office, the opposing party uses that lawlessness and disloyalty to break MORE laws! The opposing party uses that precedent to violate MORE constitutional rights. This decades long practice is unsustainable.

So Trump should stop his nationwide effort to gerrymander states, since Republicans can’t win on votes. Once Trump stops cheating, the Democrats can stop responding to Trump’s cheating. Make it illegal for both parties.

    1. When a Dem complains about Repubs gerrymandering it is laughable. See MA and all of NE, IL, CA and now VA.

  15. The Supreme Court does need to be expanded because it cannot handle its case load as it is and is always months or years late in handing down opinions. And the GOP could do it tomorrow by ending the filibuster (which the Democrats are also going to do in 2029-not mentioned in this article).
Does Puerto Rico want to be a state?

  16. Voters better start believing what these politicians are saying. In Carville’s case they are not idle threats

  17. For his day job, Carville screams at the neighborhood kids to stay off his lawn.

    What an embarrassment he’s become.

  18. There is no more loud-mouthed intolerant Fascist than James Carville. Will we ever see him face the consequences he publicly demands for his political enemies? We could open a camp and frog-march Carville right in the front gate. Or parade him through the streets in shackles like collaborators after World War II. I doubt that he and the rest of his Fascist friends would enjoy that treatment, but by his own “logic” it is well-deserved.
