Below is my column in the New York Post on the latest claims of former First Lady Jill Biden on her book tour. Today, “View from the East Wing” will be released after a rocky pre-release tour. Her interviews certainly produced buzz, but not necessarily the type that she was seeking. Her claims on the pardon of Hunter Biden are part of an effort to rewrite history that borders on utter fantasy. It appears that the former First Lady would like to be known as both a fiction and nonfiction author.
Here is the column:
Jill Biden’s book is not even out yet — and she’s already trying to get it displayed on both the fiction and the non-fiction shelves.
From her husband’s mental decline to the pardoning of her son, the former first lady has moved from the historical to the fanciful.
Thomas Jefferson once wrote that “honesty is the first chapter in the book of wisdom” — but if her promotional interviews are any measure, that chapter appears to be entirely missing from “View from the East Wing: A Memoir.”
Last week Biden faced a torrent of criticism, including from Democrats like her former spokesperson, over her claim to CBS News that she thought her husband’s debate meltdown meant he might have been suffering a stroke.
The interviewer didn’t mention the fact that Biden famously declared at the time that her husband was brilliant in the debate, and denied he was showing signs of mental decline.
Now, Jill Biden is rewriting the history of one of the most infamous lies Joe Biden ever spun.
While running for office, Biden and his staff repeatedly insisted that he would never pardon son Hunter Biden under any circumstances.
White House spokesperson Karine Jean-Pierre became indignant and mocked reporters who continued to ask about a pardon after the then-president had repeatedly promised not to do so.
Now Jill is saying the pardon was the obvious and right thing to do.
After all, she insisted, “Then the Justice Department changed. And I think that the process was not fair to Hunter.”
“When Trump was elected,” she added, “we knew that he would target Hunter.”
Just one problem: It was her husband’s Justice Department, and two different panels of jurors, who convicted Hunter.
Indeed, even juries in the Bidens’ home state of Delaware and the heavily Democratic state of California declared him guilty.
The only pending matter was his sentencing before the same judges that President Biden assured us would be allowed to resolve the cases.
Indeed, even after those convictions, the Biden administration declared that the president would not break his promise and pardon his son.
Presidents have long waited until the final days of their terms to grant controversial or self-serving pardons — like Bill Clinton’s pardon of his own brother.
However, none but Joe Biden had made the denial of such a pardon an issue in his presidential campaign, and none had repeatedly denied any possibility of it.
Yet Jill Biden’s new claim shows the Bidens view the public as chumps and dupes who will blindly accept anything that the establishment gives them.
“I truly supported it,” she now insists, because “we just could not let our son go to jail on a charge that no one would go, I mean, no one has ever gone to jail for.”
Her son was convicted on nine tax evasion charges, in addition to multiple gun violations.
Defendants have gone to jail for these offenses in many cases, including defendants in Delaware.
Do the Bidens imagine the public will believe that no one has gone to jail for tax evasion?
Apparently, yes they do.
What’s particularly galling is that Hunter Biden was allowed to escape charges for other federal crimes, including his alleged influence peddling that produced millions from foreign interests.
President Biden notably pardoned his son for any crimes that he may have committed from “Jan. 1, 2014, to Dec. 1, 2024.”
If the family was so afraid of retaliation by Trump, why didn’t Joe Biden pardon his son for all crimes except those for which he was convicted during his administration?
That would still have been an abuse of power, but it would at least have maintained the president’s promise to allow the prior cases to proceed without interference.
Of course, Jill Biden is pitching this book to the same diehard base that spent years engaged in willful blindness over her family’s corruption and her husband’s decline.
After the pardon, the same Democrats who echoed Biden’s prior denials of the possibility of any pardon ran to the cameras to treat his turnaround as much ado about nothing.
Sen. Dick Durbin (D-Ill.), chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee and Senate majority whip, even called it a “labor of love.”
Polls found only two out of 10 citizens supported Biden’s pardon — but that 20% is precisely the target audience for this work of pure fantasy.
All that’s missing are a Sorcerer’s Stone, talking White House portraits and a group of young Democratic wizards.
Jill Biden’s book is scheduled to be followed by a book by Joe — just in time for the 2028 presidential campaigns.
Both appear to have ripped a page from the book of Winston Churchill, who said: “History will be kind to me, for I intend to write it.”
Jonathan Turley is a law professor and the New York Times best-selling author of “Rage and the Republic: The Unfinished Story of the American Revolution.”

Many of us saw, and commented on, Joe Biden’s obvious mental decline during his campaign. The mainstream media colluded with the Democrat Party, to protect Biden from scrutiny, with reports asking nonsense questions no more complicated than what was his favorite flavor of ice cream. Biden hid in his home during much of the campaign season.
And yet we are expected to believe he broke Obama’s record of votes at the height of his popularity.
Sure.
Jill Biden lied.
Karine Jean-Pierre lied.
Everyone in the Biden Administration who claimed he was fine lied.
It’s wasn’t just “a bad night.” It was the moment when the gaslighting failed.
The nation must know who really ran the country, and who made those decisions for the Auto Pen. That cabal put Biden forward to run for a second term, and his own wife, the First Lady, was part of that scheme. She walked up to lead him by the hand off stage every single time he made a public appearance, because otherwise, he got lost. The Easter Bunny was his minder at the Egg Roll. She spoke to him like he was a child, telling him what a “great job” he did at that debate.
She lied then, and she’s lying now, claiming she thought it was a stroke, or that it was the first time she noticed anything amiss.
Obviously lying is OK. Jill wanted to be with a better sort of people. The passage fare is counted in lies. 😏
The ferry man charges to catch a ride back across the the Styx. 😏
Republicans respond to the loons as if they aren’t loons. Stop doing that.
“The interviewer didn’t mention the fact that Biden famously declared at the time that her husband was brilliant in the debate, and denied he was showing signs of mental decline.”
What one says and what one believes are not always the same. A conflict can be a sign of a spouse protecting a loved one.
The first part is clearly a large part of conservatism; the latter is usually missing, particularly in the White House or, famously, by Newt Gingrich.
If she were truly protecting her loved one she would have convinced him not to run or urged him to resign when his decline accelerated. This was elder abuse at the highest level.
WSC did say history would be kind to him as he would write it, and generally history has been kind to him. But of course he was a colossus on the world stage at a pivotal point in 20th century world affairs. In addition he had a rapier wit and a commanding oratory skill matched perhaps by only a handful of politicians since 1945. History will not be kind to Joe Biden who will be remembered not only for lacking all of WSC’s great attributes but also for presiding over a faux-presidency run by Obama-holdovers. He will also be remembered for displaying the most mental incapacity of any President in our history and his handlers hoping the electorate would ignore all that and support his re-election to a second term. Much to be remembered but certainly not kindly.
It’s an AI image and AI will say anything. White ladies lie?
Ya
Jill is a nice white lady. /s
Who would cut your throat in a heartbeat!
It’s a cutthroat world. I don’t want to be around her. You?
So, will Gigi/Natasha/GSX/(wherever did Dennis go?), after all those demands of,
“Where is the proof?!!?!?!?!?!”
Now admit we were right and they were wrong?
And as Andrew Cuomo pointed out,
“[Biden] got on the debate stage, and it was obvious to everyone. You didn’t have to be a psychiatric or a medical professional to realize he was not up to the job,”
Dennis failed to convince anyone of his mental originality, so Natasha was begotten of Dennis.
Natasha failed to convince anyone of his mental originality, so Gigi was begotten of Natasha.
Gigi failed to convince anyone of his mental originality, so George was begotten of Gigi.
George failed to convince anyone of his mental originality, so X was begotten of George.
Reincarnation and reinvention avoids having to say you’re sorry for any mental failures.
Just like the pig you worship, all you can do in response to factual proof of Trump’s failures is attack someone who points them out.
LOL
even gigi is afraid to use her real sign-in and pretends to be anonymous, just like we said
Cheap Anon. from the DARKSIDE.. go pay for your own Blog for yr delusional broken-record TDS dumps if you want to ignore Prof. Turley’s subject commentary open for debate on his forum….
Who is “we”, and why are you obsessing about Biden when: 1. Trump has set a record for low polling; 2. Trump openly is selling pardons, trading with and accepting gifts from foreign countries and then does them favors; 3. started a war because he believed Netanyahu’s lie about Iran being on the verge of nuking us–Biden didn’t fall for that one, and neither did Obama or Bush, but then, they didn’t take hundreds of millions from wealthy Jews who wanted Trump to advocate for Israel, which is the real reason he started bombing Iran; Israel wants to steal part of Lebanon’s territory, just like it did to the Palestinians in Gaza, and all the US does is help them do it; 4. there is no end in sight to the war of choice, no clear goals, and all the war has done was make enemies, drive up the cost of petroleum, the cost of agriculture and the cost of everything because we rely on trucks to deliver goods; 5. Trump makes everything about him–tearing down part of the White House, trying to put his name above JFK’s on the JFK Center For Performing Arts, a vainglory arch, demanding “peace prizes”, gold embellishments everywhere, painting Lincoln reflecting pool, the no-bid contracts to campaign donors, his ugly face on Mt. Rushmore, his ugly face on a $250 bill…the list goes on and it is nauseating; 6. Trump pardons thugs who beat up cops, including those who were convicted of crimes, he pardons drug dealers and others and promises more pardons. What did Hunter Biden do? He didn’t admit he had a drug problem on an application to purchase a gun, and he allegedly evaded taxes. In the lawsuit in which Trump sued himself and then settled with himself with our money, he got a provision that the government cannot go after him or any member of his family for tax evasion or any other tax-related offense. What does that tell you? A federal judge has demanded briefing on just HOW there is a real controversy or case when Trump is both the plaintiff and defendant, and WHY that is not a fraud on the Court. AND, you are obsessing about Hunter Biden?
I saw an interview with Dr. Jill Biden this morning and she said that Joe had decided not to pardon Hunter until Trump won the election and promised to go after him. That left Joe Biden with no choice. No parent, knowing the vindictive nature of Donald Trump with his band on syncophantic toadies who had the power of the DOJ, would allow his son to be in a vulnerable position. Joe did not lie about pardoning Hunter—he changed his mind because of Trump and his threats.
All of this is just another MAGA diversion away form Trump’s utter failures of leadership. At the time of the debate, Biden had made several trips overseas, he was tired and jet lagged. He performed poorly—so what? Since lying his way into office with baseless promises, Trump has made more flubs in speaking than Biden ever did, and “Drowsy Don” falls asleep at meetings, and stays up all night rage tweeting. Biden accomplished more than Trump would ever be capable of–he turned around the disasterous economy Trump left him, got COVID under control, got schools, businesses, restaurants and leisure travel back, improved manufacturing, mended relations with our NATO allies, got Finland and Sweden to join NATO, and got passed the American Rescue Plan, Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, the CHIPS and Science Act, Inflation Reduction Act, and is credited with achieving economic recoversy, infrastructure inves tments and clean energy spending.
So, no. You will not admit we were right and you were wrong.
HAAHHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!
Unfortunately for you, as usual, you didn’t apologize for Laken Riley, did you? You cannot, you will not, ever, register an ounce of credibility as her bleeding, crushed skull calls out, “Why?” You filthy diseased punk.
Right. So you believe that Jill Biden is in cahoots with the Republican Party, to release a book admitting she lied when she told the public that Joe Biden was fine.
Jill Biden’s deception tour doesn’t pass the (Joe Biden) sniff test
“Rewriting history: Her memoir comes a year and a half after the Bidens moved out of the White House and into a quieter life. At the time of the disastrous debate performance, she insisted “he did great.” Last week she revealed what everyone knew, but few would say: Joe Biden looked as if he were having a stroke or some other cognitive failure.”

Jill misses controlling the autopen.
maybe Jill controlled the missing (disappearance) of the autopen.
I thought there might be tell all books coming out after Bidens left the WH.
But did not expect it from Jill Biden herself!
And all the other Democrats coming out and agreeing to a degree! Amazing!
And all that time, MSM, the DNC, pundits all tried to tell us Joe was “Sharp as a tack!” “Running circles around his younger staff!” Anyone who questioned the narrative was a conspiracy theorist!! A lie!
Turns out we were right the whole time.
How marvelous!
Look for it in the toilet-paper aisle. Can’t wait for Joe’s memoir entitled “The World’s Shortest Book.” John Brennen and his 50 CIA buddies are still drafting Hunter’s memoir. It will be in Russian, but of course.
Hahahahaha!
The best joke is Joe’s library, a book mobile. He’s reincarnating as a snow cone vendor on a bicycle.
