An over-30-point primary loss would ordinarily produce a degree of introspection and self-reflection in a politician. Indeed, even such a humiliating defeat can produce a sense of liberation in some members who finish their terms free of pandering to extreme groups or blindly touting the party lines. Those people, however, are not Rep. Dan Goldman (D., N.Y.).
Goldman was back this week in signature form, denying the obvious and the unavoidable. In an exchange on sanctuary cities barring cooperation with ICE, Goldman demanded that critics
“cite one case where there was a criminal conviction, the defendant served his time and was convicted of a removable offense under the [Immigration & Nationality Act of 1952] and he was not turned over by the city or the state to the Department of Homeland Security.”
It was vintage Dan Goldman. When other democrats were acknowledging mistakes or failures, Goldman was always willing to deny any inconvenient fact.
When attacks on ICE officers increased exponentially (including attacks shown on television), Goldman denied seeing examples of such increasing attacks.
When evidence of Biden influence peddling worth millions was confirmed, it was Goldman who denied the corruption, insisting that they were just honest businessmen making money.
When evidence mounted of the Biden Administration coordinating a massive censorship system, it was Goldman who dismissed such concerns.
When other Democrats objected to the Biden Administration’s seizure of members of Congress’ phone records, Goldman ran out to downplay the attack on the legislative branch.
When the Administration sought to investigate those burning Teslas and dealerships by protesters, Rep. Dan Goldman (D., N.Y.) denounced it as a “political weaponization” of the legal system.
The “deny everything” approach is designed to stop the conversation or interview and worry about the facts later. Those facts from the Department of Homeland Security reportedly include nearly 7,000 criminally-convicted illegal immigrants released in New York alone after the state barred cooperating with ICE detainers. The crimes include 29 homicides, 2,509 assaults, 305 robberies, and 207 sexual predatory offenses.
Again, those are just facts.
Goldman has months before he has to find another position. Losing by over 30 points after a short time in Congress does not bode well for a new run. Goldman told voters that he would be leading the impeachment of Donald Trump. His constituents had other plans. He could try to return as a staff counsel in an impeachment, though it is not clear if Democrats will have the control or the interest in the House.
Instead, Goldman may be ready to move on to a gig on MS Now or CNN. Indeed, his “deny everything” approach is perfect for the four-in-a-box cable dogfight shows.
After all, he has proven his bona fides as someone ready for his own “fiery but mostly peaceful” on-air denials.
In the meantime, we need to have a serious discussion about these policies without the disinformation and denials. The opposition to immigration enforcement by Goldman and other Democrats is out of step with most Americans.
A Harvard-Harris poll found that 56% of Americans support mass deportations of people who are in the U.S. illegally. Other polls show above 70% support for deporting those who commit serious crimes. Yet, there are also shifting views on immigration enforcement that show growing opposition to some policies.
If we are going to get through this and other controversies, we need to be able to have substantive discussions rather than suggest that there is not a single case of a sanctuary city not cooperating on a removable offense.
Dan Goldman, gaslighter par excellence. And really nothing more as suggested by the vote.
Mass deportations of people here illegally are endorsed by a majority of Americans. But it would also be informative to hear how many Americans believe that DHS violates fundamental human rights to equal protection and due process.
It would be very interesting also to learn how many Americans believe that DHS is massively intruding upon the constitutional police powers of the states, which includes their right to not cooperate with federal authorities.
DHS is following the rules. Blue cities and states are not.
The Civil War was unconstitutional.
Secession was not prohibited.
I demand comprehensive reparations for the CSA and all of its descendant persons, jurisdictions, and entities; that every act of Lincoln, subsequent to his unconstitutional denial of secession, be abrogated and rescinded, including the “Reconstruction Amendments” of Karl Marx and Lincoln’s socialist-cum-progressive-cum-communist successors; that citizenship be revoked for all of the descendants of those who would have been denied admission to become citizens per the Naturalization Act of 1802—which was in full force and effect at the commencement of the Civil War and on January 1, 1863—and those who would subsequently have been affected by that act; and that the United States of America be simultaneously returned utterly and completely to the Constitution and Bill of Rights of 1789.
I demand to be excluded from any additional tax to support reparations. One of my ancestors was a union.soldier. He is buried at Antietam where he fell. His younger brother guarded Jefferson Davis while Davis was imprisoned after the war. My parents supported the Civil Rights movement thru their church. I spent 33 years teaching mostly black students in a large suburban school system. My family has already paid.
Your ancestor was a criminal and a traitor. The Constitution does not prohibit secession. The CSA and secession were completely legal and constitutional. As reprehensible as slavery was, it was legal and constitutional by duly legislated statute. Lincoln violated the law, and your union family violated the law. In a society of laws, the laws must be strictly adhered to. You are a criminal when you justify violating the law.
Why did we fight communism in Korea and Vietnam?
Shouldn’t America be fighting communism—Zorro Madmani, the DSA et al.—here and now?
Nearly 100,000 Americans died for what, nothing?
If communists were good enough to be the enemy then, communists are good enough to be the enemy now.
Let’s get this party started!
We did indeed fight against communism in Korea and Vietnam.
And we LOST those fights.
You ask a very important question about whether 100,000 Americans died for nothing.
The answer is yes, they died for absolutely nothing, in completely pointless wars that were always doomed to fail.
The citizens of South Korea might not totally agree with you.
But Kim Jong Un would agree with me.
I hear that he exchanges “love letters” with Trump.
I think we actually agree: a crazy evil dictator agrees with you, but the 51,000,000 free people of South Korea agree with me.
Kim Jong Un may agree with me about the war, but that does not mean I agree with him about N. Korea, or that I agree with the fact that he exchanges “love letters” with Trump, who apparently does approve of him and agree with him.
ANON exchanges love letters with George and Gigi!!
The “K” stands for kindergarten.
How appropriate.
Classic leftist twisting of the facts. WHERE is the “fact,” as you call it, that Trump and Kim Jong Un are exchanging love letters? Let’s see that fact! Trump is masterful at keeping his enemy close – that was an amazing and brave thing for him to step over that border line to North Korea, without security, and re-establish communication. Which the idiot left tried to vilify him for, because their idea of being rulers of the world is to not to talk to the enemy. And, sure enough, during the Biden years, China wouldn’t even pick up Biden’s calls.
Trump tried to get Kim to leave his crazy ways behind and join the community of responsible nations. Whether or not one agrees with Trump’s efforts in that respect, it is unfathomably idiotic to say that means Trump “agrees” with Kim (whatever that means) or wrote him a love letter.
YAWN.. in you’re dreams
We did indeed fight against communism in Korea and Vietnam.
And we LOST those fights…The answer is yes, they died for absolutely nothing, in completely pointless wars that were always doomed to fail.
======
Without China backstopping all of North Korea economy and debts, paying for every single tangible product in that country, there WOULD BE NO KOREA TODAY AT ALL you suffering ignoramus imbecile dimwitted knucklehead. And I mean that in a good way 😹😹😹😹😹😹😹😹😹😹
Not exactly sure what your point is here. Just a garbled mess as far as I can tell.
You are right that China backstopped N. Korea.
But that is why the war was completely unwinnable, and why so many Americans died for nothing.
You’re just mad none of the Army boys went after you when you visited their training camp. That dress you wore was awful not to mention your fake falsies were obvious, and that wig….you fooled no one into thinking you were a she with that prominent Adam’s Apple
🤡
Gigi was interviewed on Fox News and looked rather full bodied. 5’3″ @ 240 lbs, I’m guessing. She told us she was a Nurse Practitioner, a lawyer, a construction supply business owner, a Jew, a Republican, a conservative, a heterosexual, had 12 children, a butcher, a baker, a candlestick maker, and a gay dude who hiked Hollywood Hills. But now she’s gone full blown Svelaz / X / Sally / sock puppet manic troll with sociopathic babbling.
You know the Democrats are done when Gigi looks like a plump Mrs Piggy.
You know the Democrats are done when Gigi looks like a plump Mrs Piggy.

OMD that was the most diabolical, brutal take-down of ALL-TIME!
Gigi will NEVER recover…. RIP Gigi
Winner ….🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆
Gigi is a biological male and identified as a female when Natacha was outed as a faux nurse practitioner to take Natacha’s place as a blithering idiot. The bar was set high but Gigi managed to do the improbable: made Svelaz look like an Einstein. X responded by acting like a manic depressive with his pecker stuck in a 220 V electrical outlet, zinging and zanging everywhere on the blog, trying to peg anyone he could. Had it not been for Concerned Citizen getting a hold of a crate of Lithium from China to administer to X, he might have disappeared entirely from our group. Alas Sally showed up and it was tits down from there in spite of Sally being Wally which is to say a messed up ghey dude. Just. Like. Gigi.
no lithium for you!
Does it help you emotionally to make up lies and fake names for people who point out that Trump is a loser, a liar, a sociopath and the worst president in American history? Now he is killing our economy, his stupidity, arrogance and incompetence have resulted in hundreds of US military injuries, at least 17 soldiers killed and thousands of Iranians killed— for what? So Israel can grab more land?
All of the names and insults you can come up with aren’t going to change the facts.
NUTCHACHACHA
OT, this is a good essay on the personal flaws that lead a person to support “tax the rich” policies. It is in response to Hawaii quietly passing a millionaire tax, and why it won’t stop with millionaires. “Society cannot survive a politics that runs on resentment,” and the tax-the-rich policies that feel good in the moment end up with burdens on everyone that show up in rent, grocery bills, and the exodus of job-creators.
Envy is not a debt that can be paid down because every payment enlarges the claim. When the millionaires have been taxed, the mood will remain, and it will go looking for whoever is next within reach.
https://alohastatedaily.com/2026/07/22/hawaii-millionaire-tax-why-the-new-13-bracket-wont-be-the-last/
Not surprising coming from a state where they attack people for being white and the entire state supreme court has Trump Derangement Syndrome and thinks the Second Amendment doesn’t apply because it’s subordinate to the Aloha Spirit.
https://nypost.com/2026/07/26/us-news/california-family-left-in-a-pool-of-blood-after-horrific-anti-white-attack-at-exclusive-hawaii-resort/
What makes you think that the Second Amendment applies in Hawaii ??
As everyone here knows perfectly well, Hawaii is not a part of the USA.
Next thing you know you will make some insane comment that people born in Hawaii are eligible to run for President.
Get a grip fella.
You are talking nonsense.
If that was meant to be funny or clever . . . it wasn’t. Grade: D. Try again.
Not meant to be funny OR clever.
I am deadly serious.
This was debated at length here by the regulars, and we all agreed that Hawaii is not REALLY part of the USA, and therefore people born there cannot possibly be eligible to run for president, especially those who are more tanned than others.
You keep saying this, yet never post any proof. When everything else says you lie.
So prove it.
“Tax the rich” clearly violates the Equal Protection Clause.
“An over-30-point primary loss would ordinarily produce a degree of introspection and self-reflection in a politician. He’s going to run in 2028 along with Gavin Newsom – Goldman Sachs needs to have an anchor in the D.C. cabal. He’s not out-of-office, He’s keeping the brand alive.
Turley: do you hold your nose when you write crap like this? Goldman lost because of his support for Israel— or at least his refusal to condemn Israel for the genocide of the Palestinian people, stealing the West Bank and Golan Heights and goading Trump to fall for Netanyahu’s lies about Iran.
You want to talk about denial? Where to start? How about the lies Trump and Hegseth tell about the war Trump started? He took a victory lap the day after the bombing started, claiming “we already won”; they have repeatedly claimed that Iran’s military was “obliterated”, but Iran somehow keeps shooting off missiles and attacking with drones. How many times have they lied about the Strait of Hormuz being “open for business” or under US control, only to have ships get bombed? That’s just one topic that Trump and his administration have lied about. The truth is that they have no idea how to end this war and Iran has always had the upper hand.
How about Trump’s loss in 2020 that he requires members of his administration and those seeking his endorsement to lie about, plus the resources he has wasted trying to get proof to back up his lie? Sheesh! But Turley wants to attack Goldman.
Dear Anon. form the Darkside ‘Turley do you…’ HOW MUCH do they pay you to be a trol on Prof. Turley’s Forum.. Your stuff is not even half-intelligent.. I pegged you as being 5th grade caliber before.. but as time goes on.. I see it is more like you dropped out of elementary school and became a professional delinquenst….. the Dems are good at finding people they pay to do their dirty work.. so perhaps we should feel honoured to have both you and Mamdani among us at the same time…
Anon from the Darkside is Gigi. She is the DSA co-chair pictured above who wants to abolish the senate.
I think most Democrats are allergic to accountability. I’m not saying Republicans are perfect. But the level of BS denial of reality by the left is vastly greater than with the right.
It appears that some people are just not willing to listen and modify their viewpoints based on new facts. I would support a Nobel peace prize to the individual who can reliably identify such people (myself excepted) so others don’t need to waste time engaging with them in a discussion.
Aww, Goldman eats crow. chomp chomp eat it, eat that crow.
Goldman lost because he wouldn’t speak out against Israel—NOT because of his politics. And Turley knows that. Pretending that his politics are not popular is disingenuous. But MAGA needs affirmation as Trump keeps flopping, his war drags on and prices keep rising.
Riiiight. This whole blog is just one big MAGA conspiracy. BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAH!!
Plus – “prices keep rising” – just means inflation is not zero. Inflation could be 1% and that would mean prices keep rising. Bidenflation was way, way, way, way worse than what we have now. And it was not “transitory” as all the Biden administration lying liars kept saying.
Prices keep rising because of Trump tariffs and the cost of petrol. AND, there was inflation under Biden because of Trump’s incompetent handling of COVID, with the country mostly shut down. Biden inherited a hot mess. School buses weren’t running because children had to do distance learning, people who could do so worked from home, and businesses and restaurants went to internet sales or carry out only, so refineries cut production. When Biden got us back to work, back to school, businesses and restaurants open again for in-person business, petroleum production lagged behind, so the price went up because demand was greater than supply. Also, during the shut down, people weren’t doing leisure travel and weren’t buying things like school uniforms and work clothes. These are facts. Trump is again messing up our economy with his illegal tariffs and the war he started that he has no idea how to end. “Everything Trump Touches Dies”–by Rick Wilson–he is right. It’s an excellent read.
Is anyone surprised? Seriously? It’s the Democrat Way. Lie! Then lie about the lie! Once caught, lie about the one who caught you. Finally just deny everything by lying about lying and the whole episode.
When Dan Goldman’s wife caught him in bed with another woman, he happened to be holding a bottle that was as redeemable for a nickel in Delaware and New York. He said a quick prayer asking for guidance on what to say, and what he saw was “DE NY”
He took that to be his guiding principle for all of life’s sticky situations. This was confirmed in his mind when his wife believed his claim that he had never seen the other woman before and had no idea how she got into his bed.
There is no need to further disparage a man who lost by 30 points. ..
btw. He lost to Brad Lander. ..”The race was heavily influenced by their differing stances on Israel policy and immigration. Lander opposed U.S. military aid to Israel after the Gaza and Iran wars, while Goldman was a strong supporter of Israel. On immigration, Lander gained attention for an arrest during an anti-ICE protest, which he later was acquitted of ____________.”
*also, think that Platner dude should not have dropped out of the Maine race. .. if voters were good with his Blackwater mercenary work, why would being ‘consensually careless’ with an old girlfriend be prohibiting?
So, what you are saying is that the real problem with Dem voters was not that Goldman was a stupid liar but that he was Jewish. The Dem party is busy ethnically cleansing itself of Jews (and Biblical Christians). The only “faithful” worshippers they recognize are Muslims. They will soon have to cleans themselves of Atheists too! They have already removed G0d from their platform, therefore, may I surmise that according to them, Allah is not only not god but not the messenger of a god (that doesn’t exist)? Trying to follow or understand the “beliefs” of Dems is very difficult.
No. That is not at all what I’m saying.
*I’m rather fond of Jews and Muslims.
So you’re saying…
@dgsnowden
Oh yes, yes there is. Everything he represents should absolutely be disparaged, mocked, and marginalized to the skies. That he can do what he does and still look himself in the mirror tells me is either a sociopath, a grifter, or both. We should absolutely continue to call these people out, at every single opportunity, and as publicly as possible.
DG……………. OOPS

Graham Platner worked as a security contractor in Afghanistan for a successor company to Blackwater, though he states he did not work directly for Erik Prince’s original Blackwater organization
Dan Goldman is like of the people who call themselves “liberals” or “progressives”. They have taken every step possible to insulate themselves from crime, e.g. bodyguards, walls, country estates, guards at apartment building entrances. Then they pretend that crime “isn’t that bad” and that people who say otherwise are “racist” or deluded. They make no effort to empathize with their fellow citizens.
Goldman must be living in one heck of an impregnable bubble. He should slow down and think a bit about what he wants to say before blurting out these stupidities. If he does move on to a gig at MSnow or CNN it could get really comical.
Anonymous must be living in one heck of an impregnable bubble. You’re a nobody and Goldman is a congressman. And rich. You> A poor fat slob in a trailer.
My comment struck a nerve. Thank you for the feedback.
And you’re an ass
I think you have missed the point…
Personal attack dont change the facts
dude. give it up. sheesh we get it you’re a goldman fanboy.
Anonymous, it is you who are a slob…dont know about the trailer or the wealth. Just know you are a slob by your comments.
Simple approach -if a state, county, or municipal government accepts any federal grants, those grants need to be conditional on the >timely< sharing of information on anyone incarcerated in their systems.
What is stronger, their love of federal money or their devotion to sanctuary virtue signalling?
A state has no legal justification to hold criminals past their release day just because ICE wants them. If ICE wants then they get get off there fascist asses and get them before they are released.
Illegal aliens need to all be removed from the US. ICE has made some mistakes but they will improve. Oh, they aren’t fascists.
You are correct!
ICE had to pickup people on the streets, at home, their jobs, etc, because local and state officials obstructed their normal procedures.
The politicians forced ICE into that position and then paid agitators to harass, assault their Officers, threaten them and even their families. ICE agents had to defend themselves as if they were the criminals.
When non-citizens and individuals who are in a jurisdiction of the US illegally commit other crimes, county and state detention facilities are required by Federal Law to honor the immigration detainers. An immigration detainer means the prisoner must be released to ICE instead of being allowed back on the streets of our communities to re-offend.
How many examples have we seen of of criminals in the country illegally that were released from jail or a judge set them free and then these individuals committed worse crimes. The list of casualties, innocent murder, sexual assault victims keeps growing and we see politicians dedicating OUR tax dollars to defend the illegal alien criminals, but won’t acknowledge their victims.
ICE must be respected and allow to do the job of removing people who are in the country illegally. Than doesn’t make them “fascists” and they deserve support.
The vast majority of immigrants in this country were welcomed here, rightly or wrongly, by previous administrations.
The vast, vast majority are almost certainly good people seeking refuge and a better life.
Evidently, Trump/ICE has revoked all immigrants welcome to the U.S., and intends to deport all who are now here ‘illegally’ (?).
By my estimates, at the current rates of deportation that will take ICE about 15years to accomplish.
*discuss
The vast majority of immigrants to the U.S. were required to:
a. appear legally;
b. be healthy/undergo medical examination;
c. be employable/able to contribute to the economy.
a. if President Biden welcomed all the immigrants they were here ‘legally’, no? *put yourself in their (the immigrants) shoes
b. if they are unhealthy they should undergo medical examination.
c. the vast majority are employable hardworking skilled people who do contribute to the economy. .. in fact, ICE sudden threats to all immigrants have created clear economic problems.
clown, people are complaining about the ILLEGAL aliens. Did you forget that?
Trump complains a lot about ILLEGAL aliens. They’re eating cats and dogs to hear him tell it.
*A lot of people are complaining about the strategy and tactics of ICE. .. don’t think they’re very fond of the President either.
Gone. they are gone, deported ,adios. Don’t care if anyone don’t like it, wave bye bye to the illegals
Watch the prices come down.
Seeking refugee status is a different thing entirely to entering the US illegally for a “better life.” Lawbreakers are not entitled to be welcomed, their motivation notwithstanding.
A vast majority of immigrants were directed here through an organized invasion. Now they have been politely asked to leave. Should they decide to stay, ICE and immigration will help them. This was a number one reason for electing President Trump that won an election by the majority.
You are full of shit. There is no federal law requiring jails to honor immigration detainers.
Maybe we just need a protocol where if ICE wants a illegal held by another agency, that illegal stays right where they are, is officially an ICE prisoner, and ICE pays the bills until they collect the illegal. Works for me. Use the federal grant money lever to compel the protocol
That law already exists, it is the way local and state legal systems are required to handle the cases of criminals who are in the US illegally.
They are required to honor, enforce the immigration detainers, allow ICE to pick them up at the detection facilities instead of releasing them onto the streets.
Sanctuary cities and states violate those federal rules
ICE are not fascists. They are Law Enforcement. You know, enforcing those laws, passed by Congress. The laws the Biden admin ignored and let millions of illegals into America, many of whom have criminal records and have committed crimes here in America. You know, like nursing student Laken Riley assaulted and killed by one of Biden’s illegals. Jocelyn Nungaray a 12 year old girl sexually assaulted and killed by one of Biden’s illegals. Mom of 5 children, Rachel Morin raped and killed by one of Biden’s illegals.
“Fascist” is just the word used by the wokerati (and their millions of minions) to describe anyone supporting a law they don’t like. This goes double for laws seeking to maintain any sense of civilization in one’s country.
It’s joining several other words in becoming badges of honor, rather than the conversation-stopping slurs they’ve been for so long. Imagine the frustration!
Separately, asking Dan Goldman to display evidence of self-awareness is, to put it kindly, a fool’s errand.
That isn’t what Rep. Jimmy Panetta (D-CA) said: https://www.thecalifornian.com/story/news/local/2026/01/30/california-rep-panetta-calls-out-lawless-behavior-ice-cbp-immigration-agents/88432428007/
“Let me be clear that the DHS (Department of Homeland Security) ICE and CBP agents are not law enforcement,” Panetta said.
Well, he’s an idiot then. DHS, ICE and CBP, literally, are a Federal Law Enforcement Agencies. FWIW, my mother was DHS (Customs was subsumed into durin Bush) and my Step-Dad DEA (also law enforcement). I well aware that they are ‘REAL’ law enforcement people. I wonder why a Congressman can’t understand that… I don’t wonder that much; it’s the Big Goebbles Lie.
sally.
So now you want ICE to enforce our laws. HAHAHAHA
Aha! Its Dustoff / K mouthing off stupidities. As usual. Brainless twat.
The detainers need not extend the time in prison. The prisoners can be handed over as they are being released. What is required is proper coordination, which requires the state authorities to cooperate.
No, but considering an option transfer of ownership and extended stay might be a good option when dealing with staffing issues and other unforseen delays.
All that needs to happen is for the feds to have some sort of monetary award or reward for cooperative states and watch all the blue sanctuary states start turning them over for the ca$h.
Bless your heart….
Yes, state and local jurisdictions are required by federal law to honor Immigration detainers. That means the person subject to the detainer is picked up by ICE at the state or county correctional facility, once their criminal case is disposed or they complete their jail sentence.
And there is no such a thing as immigration warrants or bail for people detained for entering the country without a visa or overstaying their visas, which makes their remaining in the country illegally.
And yes, DHS does send multiple notices to people, gives them opportunities to remedy their situation before detaining them.
Other countries are not so lenient. Try being in Mexico illegally
“Their.” Also, your use of fascist is incorrect. ICE cannot take custody of these illegal alien criminals until they are released from custody (or jurisdiction is transferred) – which is why cooperation between jurisdictions is important.
Speaking of Fat Asses Sally, 🤣🤣🤣🤣, you do know that some local Jurisdictions are banned from telling ICE about pending releases of Criminals!
of course they do. It’s just your side’s screwed up politics that has left them searching outside the USA for supporters.
