Harvard Medical School Holds Panel Raising Whether Weight Loss Drugs are an Imperialistic, Militaristic Plot

Harvard University is facing another controversy after its medical school held an event on “the Pathology of Unruly Bodies.” The most surprising part is that it was not a reference to the Harvard faculty itself. Rather, a panel composed of non-medical experts was railing against anti-obesity drugs as part of “indoctrination” to support the ills of “empire and imperialism.” Welcome to the state of higher education in America.

The panel was devoid of actual medical experts. It was dressed up in medical terms with the use of the word “pathology.” It could have easily been billed as “GLP-1 Anti-Body.” The panel included such experts as Da’Shaun L Harrison, who recently drew notoriety for claiming at the Socialism 2026 conference in Chicago that GLP-1 medications such as Ozempic and Zepbound constitute “genocide” against fat people.

Another headliner was Roxane Gay, the Gloria Steinem Endowed Chair in Media, Culture, and Feminist Studies at Rutgers University–New Brunswick and the artist-in-residence at Harvard Medical School. Professor Gay (the cousin of former Harvard University President Claudine Gay) had called for the release of Luigi Mangione, who murdered Brian Thompson, the CEO of UnitedHealthcare, two years ago.

Despite her extremism and penchant for murderers like Mangione, Gay writes for the New York Times and apparently likes to flip off people in public. Harvard decided she was exactly what they needed to help shape their medical students. She is part of the radical chic of higher education, where no views are too far left (while departments purge conservatives and libertarians).

Harrison quickly picked up where she left off at the Socialist Convention with bizarre claims. Rather than claiming that drug companies were engaging in the genocide of fat people with weight-loss drugs, she explained that the companies were really militarizing an imperialist state: “This practice of forcing people into manipulating and changing or shifting how they look is oftentimes about making bodies militarisable. Building up a military to defend an imperialist state.”

She further claimed:

“A lot of doctors, medical professionals and folks who collaborate with them — be it through the government or media — are advocating for atrocities that are directly impacting our citizens, but also citizens around the globe.

It then becomes about creating this ideal body that you are always being pushed and pulled towards, as a way to represent this patriotism that is intended to indoctrinate one into the military, into the defense of the country.”

So the country is now Zepbound for tyranny. The suggestion that weight loss drugs serve imperialist, militaristic goals is obviously bonkers. It is the kind of raving you would expect on a subway from someone wearing a handmade cardboard sign and a tin foil hat.

However, Harvard Medical School views that person as a serious expert on the pathologies of weight loss.

Notably, not a single Harvard faculty member expressed unease over the programming. Medical students are facing an array of tough technological and economic conditions. Yet, the administration wants them to sit through far-left indoctrinations from the likes of Gay and Harrison.

Harvard is not alone. Various medical schools have incorporated radical social agendas into their curricula or events. We recently discussed how UCLA Medical School held a panel on which psychiatrists defended self-immolation in protesting Israel. In an earlier post, we discussed a mandatory lecture at UCLA of one of the university’s “activists-in-residence” replete with anti-Semitic postings and racist rhetoric.

The hiring of figures like Gay and the radical programs at these schools show that faculty have little intention to change the ideological echo chamber in higher education. It is truly a pathology of unruly bodies.

  1. Of course health weight people is a plot? NO

The PLOT Against America are the Democrats and their leftist followers

Eg LGBTQ doctrine is purely 100% to stop Men and Women have families. Democrats are fighting a CIVIL WAR again!

Time to END FEDERAL AID to colleges, cities, states, non-profits

Outlaw public unions, who are their political army!

Arrest EVERY Democrat helping illegal invaders, which is PURE TREASON!

Then see how Democrat economics really works!

  2. “. . . railing against anti-obesity drugs . . .”

So here we have D’s, who claim to be the “party of science:”

Don’t use drugs that can improve your health and save you from life-threatening diseases.

Do surgically mutilate the genitalia of children, so that they are permanently scarred (physically and emotionally) and are tethered to a lifetime of drugs.

Use “science” to control adults, to force vaccines on them, to sate your megalomania (Fauci).

    Oh. And XX = XY.

Leftists are the “party of science” in the same way Mengele was. And I mean that comparison literally: Use medicine as a means to a vicious political end.

  3. There is a bright side to this.  The Chief Justice Roberts idea of the sordid business of dividing us up by race. These same people have finally come up with a single race for our single human genome. Fat.

  4. Can you SCREAM out – RACISM, MISOGYNY, and COLONIALISM? It is a conspiracy of old white men to make civilization in their mold since the beginning of the written word!!! Gotta fight the POWER – queue the 1980’s action music! Now get out there and burn and loot to make the point clear and memorable!! Where the hell is Antifa on this subject? Surely the FAT GENZ TIK TOK MORONS have something to add on this matter of great importance. Thank god the Socialists, Communists and FAT TROGLODYTES see thru the medical misinformation on diabetes, heart disease, and other ills! BAH HAHA – IDIOTS!!!

  5. The biggest surprise to me is that they didn’t accuse Trump and Israel of being behind this Genocide.

As someone above mentioned this is counter to the actual “genocide” of fat people due to heart disease, diabetes and many other medical maladies which of course these very same people promoted in the year of George Floyd 2020 with the “body positivity” movement. Remember the obese woman on the cover of a health magazine with the title “This is Healthy”.

If you want to see an attack on “white supremacy” have the White House ban these drugs and watch the left go bananas.

  6. I agree with Wiseoldlawyer. I really thought I had turned to a spoof and the professor was trying to pull a fast one. It is difficult to understand how far things have fallen at Harvard. Granted these are not medical experts and, as far as I can tell, they are expert at nothing except for raising the temp and CO2 level in any room they inhabit. They apparently have no issue with taking the normal bodies of human children and castrating them both medically and surgically, but then turn around and think that using medications to lose weight and diminish you medical risks is somehow a militaristic plot or threat. I would have no problems using GLP-1’s appropriately for weight loss under proper monitoring. Fat is not healthy or beautiful and adds risk for diabetes, hypertension, then strokes, malignancy and others.

Are we really sure that this conference was not the kickoff of a new Monty Python group. This would be right up their alley. Where are John Cleese, Eric Idle, Terry Gilliam et al when you need them

  7. If everything associated with the white race were to automatically vanish from the globe; just what would black people do with all of that time on their hands. It’s quite clear that they aren’t good at doing anything else but complaining about “whitey”. Oh wait, I forgot, they could still run grifting schemes on each other while posing as honorable politicians.

    1. @whimsicalmama, if everything associated with…… Maybe he had the answer??

      James Dewey Watson

    2. It’s quite clear that whites aren’t good at doing anything else but complaining about Black people. There fixed it.

  8. “. . . Ozempic and Zepbound constitute ‘genocide’ against fat people.”

Let’s see who’s really pushing for the genocide of fat people.

    Major Health Consequences of Obesity:

    • Heart Disease and Stroke
    • Type 2 Diabetes
    • Certain Cancers: Obesity is linked to an elevated risk for 15 types of cancer, including hormonal cancers (breast, endometrial, uterus, cervix, ovary) and gastrointestinal cancers (colon, rectum, esophagus, liver, gallbladder, pancreas, and stomach/kidney).
    • Steatotic Liver Disease
    • Sleep Apnea and Respiratory Issues: Breathing repeatedly stops and starts during sleep, and severe cases can lead to Obesity Hypoventilation Syndrome (OHS), causing low oxygen and potential right-sided heart failure.
    • Digestive Conditions: Increased likelihood of heartburn, gallbladder disease, and gastrointestinal strain.
    • Osteoarthritis
    • Severe COVID-19 Symptoms
    • Pregnancy Complications

  9. As far as I can tell there is no mandate for getting GLP-1 injections, unlike a rather recent episode, where not getting a shot would keep you off planes trains and often times your employment.

  10. Harvard Medical School Holds Panel Raising Whether Weight Loss Drugs are an Imperialistic, Militaristic Plot

LOL, how about capitalist ingenuity communism could never produce? The more educated a liberal, the more ignorant and stupid the liberal.

  11. Roxie Gay is 6’3″, 275 lbs. of b_lack f_eminist l_esbian rage who, surprisingly, graduated form Phillips Exeter Academy, and holds a PhD in Rhetoric and Technical Communication from Michigan Technological University. And has undergone sleeve gastrectomy, a bariatric surgery.

What will they think of next?

    1. IQ 169. Who ever said that …. what about the mental midget on this website? Avg. IQ -60 (minus sixty).

  12. “This practice of forcing people into manipulating and changing or shifting how they look is oftentimes about making bodies militarisable. Building up a military to defend an imperialist state.”

Sure, sure. But forcing people to think, speak, and live according to leftist doctrine is just fine. These people are damaged goods. Severely damaged. And they must be preternaturally privileged to have time for their juvenile boosheet.

These days if a medical professional isn’t at least my age, I turn around and leave. This will be the case for the rest of my life, and I’m young enough that should work just fine.

    1. “These people are damaged goods. Severely damaged.” Have you seen the people here on this blog?

      1. @Anonymous

I’m replying to one now. By all means, continue to prove my point. 😂 And apparently in 2026, anyone that paid enough money to an institution can be a ‘doctor’. You might even be one, by modern metrics. I am walking away from you, regardless.

    1. @Darren

Oh, that’s generous. By now it’s more like: ‘Anesthetic? What’s anesthetic?. I paid my money, nobody said anything about ‘anesthetic’.’ Or conversely: ‘You voted for who? Oh, no anesthetic for you.’. 🤷🏻‍♂️

  13. My heavens. These Harvard medical experts have converted overnight quite a number of Hollywood stars into imperialistic stooges, as so many use GLP-1 to trim off those extra pounds, Oprah included. Of course, Hollywood can make a revenge movie, featuring evil aliens who invade earthling medical schools to undermine human health.

Thankfully, they will recite, Trump is not a victim of these new edicts, steadfastly ignoring GLP-1 while downing a couple of Big Macs for lunch.

    1. gdonaldallen,

“Of course, Hollywood can make a revenge movie, featuring evil aliens who invade earthling medical schools to undermine human health.”

That might be a movie people would pay money to go see.

  14. It’s high time to remove all federal funding and support for far-left Fascist institutions like Harvard. If colleges and universities choose to push a far-left ideological agenda and flee from the principle of being a space for the free and fair exchange of all viewpoints, then taxpayers should not be forced to fund them. Apparently, the Fascists have no problem with altering the bodies of children to support some notion of “gender care,” though.

    1. Wiseoldlawyer, I had much the same reaction, but I think there’s something more going on here.

I remember back around 2011 when we were arguing about Obamacare, the individual mandate, constitutional limits, and what the Supreme Court might do. We had some pretty spirited discussions, but at least we were arguing about law and constitutional principles.

Now we’re discussing whether weight-loss drugs are part of some imperialist military agenda. Twenty years ago, who would have imagined we’d even be having conversations like this?

I don’t necessarily think Turley has changed as much as the world he’s writing about has changed. Although he certainly has a hand in how he presents these stories.

What strikes me is how seamlessly his posts flow right into the comment section anymore. The subject matter, the sarcasm, the ridicule. You can hardly tell where one ends and the other begins. The odd comment out is the one where somebody actually tries to have a serious discussion.

Maybe that’s the evolution of the blog, or maybe it’s just a reflection of what’s happened to our culture. Probably some of both.

I do miss the old conversations, and some of the old commenters. Mespo comes to mind. I wonder what he’d make of this place today.

      1. You are exactly correct Olly.

Turley long ago abandoned any pretense of presenting matters related to law and the Constitution. Most of his blog posts are now simply copies or rewrites of his paid op-ed pieces at Fox and NY Post, for which he is paid handsomely by the owner, Rupert Murdoch. He has figured out where money is to be made and his pieces here reflect that.

His pieces here are simply designed to rage bait the MAGA mob that gathers here daily. He is stoking the very type of rage that he has so vehemently and hypocritically condemns in others.

        1. You could not be more wrong.

It is not the good professor fault these people at Harvard are making absurd claims of weight loss drugs are “This practice of forcing people into manipulating and changing or shifting how they look is oftentimes about making bodies militarisable. Building up a military to defend an imperialist state.”

He did not say that. He did not force her to make such a statement. She did it all on her own.

And no one here is enraged by him pointing out the absurd. We are not enraged. We just find them absurd. Laughable. They should be mocked and ridiculed. They should not be taken seriously. The fact they occupy such positions at universities is a testament to how far these universities have fallen. PT is just pointing out how far illiberalism has diminished liberalism and higher education.

      2. OLLY,

I mentioned before Maslow’s hierarchy of needs and when one reaches the top of self-actualization or constant betterment of their person. In this case, in society reaching such a point, we or they can embrace the absurd and call it “progress.”

It is not lost of us the lack of honest or serious discussion. How can one have a serious discussion about weight loss drugs are the genocide of fat people? It reminds me of the NPR article stating exercise was a gateway to white supremacy. Most of the comments are just noting how absurd the premise really is. And it is being poised at Harvard as a serious discussion when it reads like something 5th graders would come up with on the play ground or a Monty Python skit.

As you note, PT has not changed as much as the world has. But I think he is just as astonished at the loss of sanity, common sense and the embracing of the absurd by what were once held in high esteem universities. These people are ridiculous.

      3. Hear, Hear, Olly.proponent of

I’ve noticed for some time that Professor Turley’s comments have taken on more and more of a air of astonishment as the society has become crazier and crazier. Originally a (previously) life-long democrat and died in the wool’
