Iranian Jusice: Gays Should be Tortured or Killed or Both, According to High Ranking Iranian Minister

On his recent visit to the United States, President Ahmadinejad insisted that there are no homosexuals in Iran. Many noted that the reason that he might think so is the execution of gays who are discovered by his government. Now, a high ranking minister admitted that in Iran gays must be tortured or killed or both under Islamic law.

The statements of Mohsen Yahyavi came at a meeting between British and Iranian MPs at the Inter-Parliamentary Union, a peace body, in May. They followed outrage at the pictures of Mahmoud Asqari and Ayad Marhouni, who were hanged in Justice Square in Mashhad in 2005. For pictures of the execution, click here

Recently in June , in another show of Iranian faith-based justice, a woman was hanged in the town of Gorgan after becoming pregnant by her brother. Her brother was absolved after expressing his remorse.

Such is the extreme face of faith-based legal systems which enforce the morality of the majority against those who deviate from the correct path. For the full story, click here
