The Ultimate Joe-Six-Pack Vote: Obama Endorsed by Homer Simpson

This week, Obama secured the most sought after endorsement of the election. The ultimate “Joe-Six-Pack” often discussed by Gov. Sarah Palin has endorsed and voted for Sen. Obama in the video below.

Homer’s vote is a significant change and should worry the McCain camps. Homer previously took the view: “When will people learn? Democracy doesn’t work!” His participation in the election indicates a serious shift in the electorate.

Palin has portrayed herself as a Homer-friendly candidate. She recently insisted: It’s time that a normal Joe Six-Pack American is finally represented in the position of vice presidency, and I think that that’s kind of taken some people off guard, and they’re out of sorts, and they’re ticked off about it.”

The loss of Homer Simpson is a big blow. Of course, she can take is past lesson from Homer to heart: “you tried your best and you failed miserably. The lesson is, never try.”

I am still in Cleveland, which is taking a bit of offense at the line “This can’t happen in America. Ohio maybe but not America.” An anchor this morning insisted that it should have referenced Florida.

Does anyone else think Palin sounds like an Ole and Lena joke?

Ole, Lena, and Sven were lost in the North woods and were becoming desperate, having run out of food several days ago. It was winter, the snow was deep, their situation was looking very bleak. When Ole dug down into the snow to look for something to eat , he found an old lamp and upon rubbing it to get the snow off, a genie came out.

The genie says, “I am the great genie of the North and I can grant each of you one wish.

Ole says, “I vish I vas back on my farm.” Poof, Ole was gone.

Lena quickly says, “I vish I vas back on da farm wit Ole.”

    Poof, Lena was gone.

Sven was sitting there looking sad and the genie finally says, “What is your wish?”.

Sven says, “Gee, I’m really lonely. I vish Ole and Lena vas back here with me”.

You know what bothers me when Palin says stuff like that? About the “Joe Sixpack” she’s there to represent?

It bothers me that she is essentially being prejudiced towards anyone who doesn’t fit into her “Joe Sixpack” label. Only a portion of the country fits into the “Joe Sixpack” category, so that means she’s essentially against the rest of us who don’t want to be ruled by a uneducated Pentacostal Soccer Mom.
    :|

Besides. We’ve been ruled by “Joe Sixpack” for the last 8 years and look how that turned out.

Is it too much to ask that we have a smart President? Someone smarter than Joe Sixpack?

“Sven says, “Gee, I’m really lonely. I vish Ole and Lena vas back here with me”.”

Yes Lindylou, this is pertinent regarding McCain’s choice to “pull out” of Michigan and Palin’s “wishing”, like Sven, that he had not abandoned MI.

    To which I say:

Well, My Friends, we can only hope that McCain did not *imPALINate* the great state of Michigan before he “pulled out”…

I think one problem is the love of the status quo in voting. For example, “I’m a Democrat”…pull the lever. …the same “type” is elected. Doesn’t “think outside the box” for real change…change to the system itself. I just posted on this; if you are interested, pls have a look.
