Muslim Cleric Marries Twelve-Year-Old Girl

In the latest outrage involving an under-aged bride, Muslim cleric Pujianto Cahyo Widianto married a 12-year-old girl in the Semarang, Indonesia. Widianto reportedly selected the girl from a pool of 20 girls and took her to Singapore as his new bride with his first wife. Widianto runs an Islamic boarding school and they were married in an Islamic ceremony.

    Sally,
    I have to agree with you on this one. This kind of abuse should be illegal in any society that values the lives of their most important resource, their innocent children.

    This is another example of persons who misuses religion to justify his wicked behavior. Marrying an under-aged girl doesn’t make sense at all. This guy has lost his conscience and right mind. I propose that moslem leaders should explain to the world their views about this issue, so that the world can see islam as the religion of peace.
