After the recent removal of an atheist billboard, liberals have shown that they can also force down signs that they dislike. Public outcry in Tucson, Arizona led to an ex-gay billboard lasting only three days.
The billboard by P-FOX (Parents and Friends of Ex-Gays and Gays) read “Ex-gays prove change is possible.” Notably, P-FOX did not have to pay for the billboard since they were given non-revenue space by Clear Channel outdoor.
If they did not pay for the billboard, this is really Clear Channel’s support for the cause, which many gays find offensive. Clear Channel clearly did not want to defend the content of the billboard and took it down.

I’m quite interested in seeing if this post draws the level and general types of comments as the one you posted about the atheist billboard.
This will be an interesting test of Law v. Activism.
Jonolan,
I’m not sure if this is as much of a legal issue, if I understand it correctly, as the atheist billboard. I doubt it will raise much of a fuss. Here, a company removed the billboard because it didn’t meet the company’s private interests. There, the city demanded the removal of the billboard, which seems to violate both separation of church and state and free speech.
These days you can’t even cough without offending someone.
Everyone is offended by something someone else does and people like to complain just to have something to do.
jonolan.
I agree with C.L.’s analysis If this case were the same as the atheist billboard, I would feel exactly the same way as I do about it. Christians should be free to protest an atheist sign and supporters of gay rights should be free to protest this sign.
True, but wouldn’t it be nice if they stopped worrying about protesting each others signs and just focused on their own?
We worry too much in this society about what the other person believes.
Sally and waynebro,
I agree that a lot of what goes on is complaining for the sake of complaining and, just as in the case of Rev. ASS-HOLE and his meddlesome congregants people put their noses into places that noses weren’t meant to go. It’s always good to step back and examine your own ideas and see if they make sense and if you might need to learn about something, rather than scream about it. But I know there are some things I really do feel strongly about and I will speak up on those issues. I actually think some good could come from peaceful, creative protests–especailly ones that are fun(ny)! If it’s really important, I say speak out, do something.
Now here is what I do call liberal hypocracy: Until the last few days I knew Rick Warren was a real jerk, but recently I learned he was “fat”. OMG!!! I saw this mentioned as part of his character flaws on quite a few liberal blogs. This is especially ironic because many gay and lesbian people believe gayness is genetic. Wake up, so is being fat! Would Rick Warren’s statements be O.K. if he were a thin person?
I can’t imagine why it matters what size Rick Warren is. What matters is what he says and what he does. It continues to amaze me when people decry the prejudice they suffer from while affirming one that benefits them.
Good point.
Ted Haggard was thin and it didn’t make him any nicer.
