A Sign of the Times: Colorado Billboard Proclaims the Lunacy Taking Hold in America

A billboard in Colorado is causing considerable controversy and gives an insight into the radical fringe of America. The billboard by car dealership owner Phil West in Wheat Ridge, Colorado combines the “birther” controversy with the suggestion that Obama is both a Muslim and a terrorist. It further makes the bizarre connection to Fort Hood — suggesting that Obama could at any time go on a shooting spree in the West Wing.

The billboard shown above included a cartoon of Obama wearing a Muslim turban and reads “PRESIDENT or JIHAD?” It also says “WAKE UP AMERICA! REMEMBER FT. HOOD!”

West sees nothing wrong in such a message. He insisted in one interview “You can’t suggest things. You can’t profile. You gotta call a spade a spade.”

He further adds (while dancing on the edge of sanity) “[e]verything I have read about Mr. Obama points right to the fact that he is a Muslim. And that is the agenda of what Muslim is all about. It’s about anti-American, it’s about anti-Christianity.” People buy cars from this man.

My favorite quote, however, comes from passing motorist Keith Walters: “I can’t honestly say he’s a Jihadist, but there’s a lot of things that are questionable. The whole birth certificate controversy. From what I’ve read, there’s no proof Obama isn’t a Muslim. And I don’t believe there’s any racism [in the billboard]. I think that should be a question asked to any president who — they have some questionable backgrounds.”

I love the use of “proving the negative.” The sign is legitimate because “there’s no proof Obama isn’t a Muslim.” There’s no proof that he is not the Anti-Christ or the Second Coming either.

By the way, Obama makes a terrible Muslim. He smokes, drinks, attends Church, fails to observe any Islamic holidays, raises his children as Christians, and eats pork. Pat Robertson would make a better Muslim.

It is moments like this that one wonders how we succeeded in forming a nation of self-government, let alone acquired nuclear weapons.

  1. Welcome to Idiot America, where: any theory is “valid” by its very existence; if enough people belive that theory, it must be a fact; and if enough people fervently believe it, the fact must be the truth.

  2. By the way, Obama makes a terrible Muslim. He smokes, drinks, attends Church, fails to observe any Islamic holidays, raises his children as Christians, and eats pork. Pat Robertson would make a better Muslim.

Heck he’d make a bad Mormon too. Does that mean that he could be a Priest of another faith?

Well, well. I guess, he meant nothing racist in this remark. Is it just me or do some of these people appear to be sitting on a wire?

  3. Here you go, birthers.

You should be mad about stuff like this:

    http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2009/11/23/systemic-risk-panel-would_n_368471.html

Your lack of focus and purposeful misdirection (in the case of trolls) is blinding you from seeing real problems. Like that. Do you feel government isn’t doing their job? Are you angry about it? Then do something CONCRETE about it. Pick a battle you can win. Because Obama is a citizen. Period. End of story. It’s good enough for the courts, if you don’t like it, too bad.

  4. What concerns me are the patterns emerging. Patterns we have traditionally called “the fringe”.

On closer analysis we might consider them “those who are not afraid to say what others think is crazy”, because “the fringe” implies that they are a tiny minority.

When nations are in as much trouble as the U.S. is, these numbers can change insanely, because rational behaviour can fade into the background and become second fiddle.

The many single instances this blog masterfully pulls out of the fabric of our society and shows us daily are considerable indicators.

We need to consider the forest, as well as these strange trees, so as to formulate some systemic remedies.

  5. I suggest that Mr. West wouldn’t know the difference between a Muslim and a Sikh. However, I believe that he does understand the citizens of Wheat Ridge, Colorado. Expect a spike in sales at his dealership.

  6. Thanks for keeping the conspiracy alive. This is once again heating up.

Now that Climategate is in full swing http://pajamasmedia.com/blog/viscount-monckton-on-global-warminggate-they-are-criminals-pjm-exclusive/

    We must look to
    Goebbel’s “Big Lie” technique:

“If you tell a lie big enough and keep repeating it, people will eventually come to believe it. The lie can be maintained only for such time as the State can shield the people from the political, economic and/or military consequences of the lie. It thus becomes vitally important for the State to use all of its powers to repress dissent, for the truth is the mortal enemy of the lie, and thus by extension, the truth is the greatest enemy of the State.”

The recent promotion of Obama’s personal attorney to Whitehouse Counsel (Anita Mao Si Dunn’s Husband) which correct me if I’m wrong, Pelosi’s Attorney and the first time in presidential history that a president has BOUGHT his personal attorney into the Whitehouse. (IMO conflict of interest) especially when his firm was paid over a million dollars.

Then you have the OIP in Hawaii Mr. Paul T. Tsukiyama, ex-Director of the Office of Information Practices (OIP) in Hawaii has been appointed Vice-President & Director of Human Resources at Hawaii Health Systems Corporation. Many see this, including me as a pay for play, and thanks for keeping hush, hush. But we now know that President Obama is not about transparency at all. If he was he would allow full disclosure of all of his records.

I may suck but I can honestly say I’m not a sucker!

  7. Bdaman,

There are many problems with the Democrats in general and President Obama in particular (as many people here like Jill and Buddha have pointed out), but “The Big Lie” is the signature move of the Republicans:

    There are WMD’s in Iraq

Saddam Hussein is a threat to America

Deregulation and tax cuts will solve all of our economic problems

    (I could go on…)

If you want to make substantive arguments about the current administration, go ahead, but the wingnut theories that you promote only serve to dumb down and inflame our national discourse.

On the subject of Bob Bauer being appointed as Whitehouse Counsel, no president has done such a thing since… GWB appointed Harriet Miers.

    http://ohforgoodnesssake.com/?p=4895

Were you outraged at her appointment?

As far as JBJD goes, she’s a school teacher (granted, she does have – or claims to have – a law degree) and while I’m not a lawyer, my guess is that the only result of her election fraud complaints will be to establish that Barack Obama is eligible to be on the ballot (and president) – if anyone manages to get one of these complaints into court at all. (And, by the way, they aren’t complaints against President Obama, they’re complaints against Democratic party officials who certified him eligible…)

And again with the global warming denial… I looked at the supposedly damming e-mails and didn’t see anything that was more than mildly inappropriate, if that. If you parse out every word in the email and spin as hard as you can you might think that there’s fraud going on, but in reality there’s no ‘there’ there. Nate Silver at fivethirtyeight.com had a good article on this (although I think he’s even overstating the improprieties):

    http://www.fivethirtyeight.com/2009/11/i-read-through-160000000-bytes-of.html

Finally, FYI, the problem with ACORN is that it legitimately registers a lot of lower income voters (and does a lot of good for low-income people in general) who tend to vote democratic. God forbid that poor people exercise their constitutional right to vote!

  8. I saw Mr. West on The Ed Show last night. He is a very frustrated man. At one point in the interview toward the end ED asked him something and Mr. West replied (not verbatim but close enough to convey the idea) ‘people are fed up, it didn’t seem to matter if it was Bush or Clinton or Obama, every President seems to come into office and take the worst policies of the previous President and build on them…’

That’s very much like my own observations. Mr. West struck me as a guy that realized that there were systemic problems with our two (allegedly two) party system and hadn’t a clue as to what it all meant or how we got to this point or how to correct it. Obama and the birther thing seemed to be his straw man for all the possibility real objections he has but is too ignorant to ferret out and/or articulate. It was an interesting interview.

  9. bdaman is back, as a troll.

A troll is an anonymous poster drops in with pasteups and links to topics totally unrelated to the tread, and often inflammatory, in an effort to hijack the discussion.

    Larry Sinclair For Newbies.

    By kravitz – June 13, 2008, 2:17AM

This is a guy who alleges he did cocaine and had oral sex with Senator Barack Obama in 1999.

His claims do not hold up. Even as swiftboating, it’s pretty lame. For the number of times his story has been proven to be a downright lie, like a Bozo punching toy, he gets right back up and says the same thing again. Nothing in his story holds up, and he is a convicted felon who has failed a rather notable lie detector test. See below.

Under the banner of the National Press Club, we will hear more from this tortured soul later this month. For the moment, for those who actually found real news to report or read, a few notable pieces of how we got to this point. Oh yeah, the National Press Club doesn’t even want Sinclair to use their logo or suggest he is coming as their guest or at their invitation. UNQUOTE

  10. LK,

I think a great many of us are completely exasperated. That quote was interesting because many of us who are progressive could have said the same thing. Executive malfeasance is being solidified and Congress is of little help. It doesn’t seem to matter what we need to do, it just won’t get done. I saw an article about how it is impossible to negotiate with the earth on climate change. Absolutely true. We need health care and financial help to the poor, working and middle class right now. Not gonna happen. Instead, we are getting more troops in Afghanistan. It is all so crazy I don’t know what to do. There are enlightened despots and I wish our ruling elite would come along that far! Instead they are simply despots. It’s why I do think we need a general strike, something that will stop the nation in its tracks and force the govt. to get moving. They will either declare martial law or they will have to take some measures to make things right.

  11. “Prof: It is moments like this that one wonders how we succeeded in forming a nation of self-government, let alone acquired nuclear weapons.”
    =================================================================

We didn’t … the generations that formed this nation were a lot smarter than we are in that they knew how to ignore the crazies.

  12. Vince,

They did not let anyone not seized of land vote for that matter. Then along came the 13, 14, and 15th amendment giving “All” the right to vote but white females. Utah women had that right but lost it when they joined the union.

Another interesting tidbit is a US Rep from Montana was elected to office to fill her deceased husband place. She could vote in DC but could not vote to elect herself to the office she held. Makes sense to me.

  13. This is an excellent interview which I highly recommend. It’s on, The Family. It will explain much concerning the removal of abortion coverage from health care, the connection between once old enemies, fundies and catholics, the AIDS law in Uganda and how truly bat shit crazy our elites really are. It will be available at 3 p.m. EST. It is by Terry Gross with Jeff Sharlet on. “The Family”. It’s really no wonder why things are so bad.

“You may recognize these names from recent headlines: Sen. John Ensign, Rep. Bart Stupak and Rep. Joe Pitts. Stupak and Pitts have become familiar names through the media’s health-care overhaul coverage; their abortion-funding amendment introduced an 11th-hour twist as the House of Representatives approached a vote on a landmark health-care bill.

Ensign was the focus of media attention over his affair with a campaign staffer last year. Just last night, a Nevada man disclosed that he found out about his wife’s affair with the state’s junior senator — his best friend — via a text message.

The common factor among these political players is their involvement with the Family, a secretive fellowship of powerful Christian politicians that centers on a Washington, D.C. townhouse. Investigative journalist Jeff Sharlet has written extensively about the influential group in his book The Family: The Secret Fundamentalism at the Heart of American Power.

Sharlet returns to Fresh Air today to talk with host Terry Gross to talk about Ensign, Stupak and Pitts, and about new developments concerning the Family.

Since 2003, Sharlet has been an associate research scholar at New York University’s Center for Religion and Media, where he has taught graduate seminars in journalism and the history of American religion. He has also spoken on religion, politics, and media at colleges and universities across the country. At NYU, Sharlet created TheRevealer.org, a review of religion and the media.”

  14. How apt that bdaman returns in this thread. A bigoted liar returns to defend a fellow bigot car dealer. What do they have in common:
All car dealers lie and so does bdaman the troll.

  15. Nice to 2CU2 thanks for the comment.

Slart minus the e-mails you cant get by the fact of

    No warming last ten years
Worldwide Tropical Cyclone activity at an all time low
October the 3rd coolest on record

On and On and On. The e-mails just prove it’s political and Junk Science plain and simple. Now look at the polls of how many believe in the junk science.

  16. Mike A,

Wrong part of Colorado. Colorado Springs is insanely Conservative, and the rural areas are… rural. Wheat Ridge on the other hand is a suburb of Denver. You’d be surprised what a constant influx of West Coast Urbanites, Yippies (Yuppies nee Hippies), and adrenaline junkies will do to the politics of the area.

  17. Bdaman,

I’m sorry, but this is not the place and today I don’t have the time to debate you on global warming (or more accurately, climate change). Why don’t you take the time and go see a glacier before they’re all gone?

  18. So, his father and his step-father were Muslims, his mother an atheist. He worshiped at an anti-American, Black power “church” for 20 years and didn’t find Rev. Wright’s sermons “unsettling”.
Frank the Hawaiian Communist was his tutor, and he’s surrounded himself with anti-American, socialist and communists. (He says, you’ll know his policies by the people with which he surrounds himself.)

He bows before anti-Americans, and has NEVER expressed support for historical Christianty or the U.S. Consitution. He supports judicial appointments which want to user their power to amend the Constitution.

What more evidence do you need?

  19. And he’s spent $1.4 million to hide his school and univeristy, draft, thesis, and original birth certificate. Who would spend that kind of money, if they didn’t have something to hide?

  20. I had a great conversation with a relative during the election, it went something like this:

    “Obama’s a Muslim.”
“That’s not true, but even if it is, so what?”
“Well we can’t elect a Muslim, that’d be UnAmerican”
“Article VI section 3 says you’re wrong.”
    “What?”

I very rarely let myself get drawn into those kind of conversations at family functions, but they had me corned and no-one else was around.

  21. Bot: “And he’s spent $1.4 million to hide his school and univeristy, draft, thesis, and original birth certificate.”

Another lie by another troll, with no supporting evidence whatsoever. There is no substance to this charge.

  22. I don’t get overly shocked at the expression of free speech, I do have a big issue with protesting in a foul manner at funerals and so forth, but a bill board is a somewhat different.

Civil society has ways of dealing with things like this …provided a civil society is allowed to exist.

“As political society–government–grows, civil society retreats.” -CATO Institute

    After all:
“I disapprove of what you say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it” -attributed to Voltaire.

  23. Bot President Obama’s personal attorney, now White House counsel defended him for free. Even though the law firm recieved 1.4 mil. none of it was for the defense of any of those cases. He was paid back for doing it for free with a promotion to White House counsel. Now the taxpayer is on the hook.

  24. Actually, it was well-documented that for at least 11 weeks after winning the election, Obama didnot attend church. Also, by his own admission, he didn’t pay a shred of attention during the 20 years he spent as part of Rev. Wright’ss congregation.

  25. Bdamam,

What exactly is you position on this topic? What is it you are thinking?

How many more troll incarnation can you be?

  26. Having lived in Wheatridge, Co for a few years, hearing it referred to as a suburb of Denver is absolutely a stitch. Ever been to Denver? The urban sprawl is so massive every little town within twenty or thirty miles of Denver is a “suburb.”

  27. While I disagree with the message portrayed on the billboard, I am pleased that I live in the U.S. where we allow such freedom of speech exhibitions.

If I had a car dealership, I might erect a billboard listing—along with my lies about car prices and odometer readings—all of Obama’s broken pledges starting with ending the Iraqi war and his complete support the FOIA. I would need a very big billboard…

Mr. Obama needs reminding that there are growing numbers of citizens who strongly dislike a hypocritical liar of which he has standing with grand distinction.

  28. Yeah I too am grateful we can put up billboards to express our views. But hey these guys are the same ones who were for decades of my life telling me–during certain other presidential administrations–“If you don’t like our president, why don’t you leave.” Well, at long last, I should like to let them all know: if you don’t like our president, why don’t you go build some little rafts and head off to some other land? Won’t hurt my feelings none!

  29. Jill, “LK, I think a great many of us are completely exasperated. That quote was interesting because many of us who are progressive could have said the same thing. Executive … It’s why I do think we need a general strike, something that will stop the nation in its tracks and force the govt. to get moving. They will either declare martial law or they will have to take some measures to make things right.”
    —-

I’m a great fan of the general strike. It sure seems to work in Europe. The beauty of a general strike is that even with martial law you can’t lock everybody up. The whole point is to bring the economy to a halt by refusing to run in that little hamster wheel called commerce. We as individuals are unimportant, we are expendable and interchangeable. It’s all about what we buy and sell, make and trade; in short it’s all about the money. Once the money stops moving politicians become useless. People don’t seem to realize that we actually control the basis for our political infrastructure and can bring it down by just staying home for a week or so.

Exasperated? Absolutely. It’s interesting that we voters/citizens are participants in a system that replaced revolution with a ballot box and the ballot box no longer seems to work. A regular change of regime by limiting the terms of our president and requiring regular votes of confidence for our representatives and senators means, or should mean, that we don’t actually need the heads of our leaders on pikes in order to effect change that is desired by the citizens. All we have to do is wait until the next opportunity to vote. That doesn’t seem to be the case anymore.

I’d place the departure from the promise of revolution being replaced by ballots being broken back to the Carter Presidency but it’s more obvious and vicious now IMO. It’s interesting because at some point I would think exasperation would give way to anger but maybe not. Maybe this is just the way it’s going to be, the ruling elite benefiting themselves and the golden 2% and everybody else is on their own, no more than prey. Maybe the appeal of the vampire myth (and it’s current popularity) for adults is as a deeply shrouded political metaphor.

  30. Mike Appleton,

If her thesis is a candid as she would like to be, it would be “Squeeze me one more time professor before you go.”

  31. Anonymously Yours

Do I think he is a Muslim, no
Do I think he has had Muslim influences, without question
Do I think he understands the muslims plight, yes
Do I think he yerns for Muslim acceptance yes

What is it exactly would you like to know.

Do I think the billboard is distasteful, no
Would I buy a car there, no
Would I live in that town no.

  32. LK,

I don’t think this economy can sustain much longer with just the top 2% having everything. Our overlords aren’t smart enough to know they have to throw some bones or it all collapses. We the 98% do the heavy lifting of the real economy and the 2% rely on us to fund all their crazy schemes. They will ask us to pay for more bailouts and more wars but eventually, that well will run dry. In addition, there’s only so much money you can print before that turns into a disaster as well. They are going to let the shit hit the fan. I just don’t see them moving in another direction. Where I live, in OH near the MI border, the fan is already gummed up. This will be the fate elsewhere soon. I personally have never seen a group of people so out of touch, so completely unconcerned with reality and the suffering of others. It boggles my mind.

I have spoken with some lower order 2 percenters and even 10 percenters. I can guarantee they do not get what most people’s lives are really like. What is much worse than not understanding is, they don’t care to know. In some cases, these are not bad people but they are acting in a bad manner by not learning about everyday reality for the majority of our citizens. Then there are the people who are really in charge. IMO, these people do have a bad will. They may very well know exactly what the lives of others are like but they do not care. This is dangerous. Not caring will bring us all down.

I give the economy two years at most before it’s over. I am so sad to say this because I love my country and I know there are many things going for it. We have so much talent and wonderful resources that we could use to make a good world. I do care for the welfare of my fellow citizen. I hope that enough people will do a general strike because we must do something and that is a powerful tool. It will show each other that we have power also.

  33. I think the MSM is partly to blame for the growth of the birther movement. Following is an excerpt from and a link to an article about the Fairness Doctrine that speaks to the problem of ginned-up controversies. The article was published in the Boston Globe on November 9, 2009

Who’s Afraid of the Big, Bad Fairness Doctrine?
    by Steve Almond

Predictably, the abolishment of the Fairness Doctrine in 1987 spurred a talk radio revolution. Why? Because talk radio’s business model is predicated on silencing all opposing viewpoints. If Rush Limbaugh and his ilk were forced to engage in a reasonable debate, rather than ad hominems, they would forfeit the moral surety – and the seductive rage – that is the central appeal of all demagogues.

Would talk radio’s bullies freak out? Absolutely. They know the Fairness Doctrine would spell the end to their ongoing cultural flim-flam. Besides, there’s nothing so intoxicating to a fraudulent moralist as the perfume of fraudulent martyrdom.

The real shock is that journalists haven’t supported the Fairness Doctrine. Then again, consider the state of “mainstream media” outlets. Increasingly, they dine on the same fears and ginned-up wrath as talk radio. Rather than wondering, “Does this story serve the public good?” they ask, “Will it get ratings?”

This is how fake controversies (death panels, the birther movement, etc.) have pushed aside real issues, such as how to fix health care, or address climate change. It’s quite a racket. Talk radio hosts foment ignorant rage, then their “mainstream” brethren cover this ignorant rage as news.

In so doing, the Fourth Estate has allowed the public discourse to devolve into an echo chamber of grievance. The result is a body politic incapable of recognizing the true nature of its predicaments, let alone potential remedies.

  34. In Australia this was covered on our multicultural station SBS.

They had a story about political killings in The Philippines, a story about fundamentalists in Pakistan and bombs in Northern Ireland and then this.

    Aahh … wisdom

  36. Great billboard, not only is Obama not a natural born citizen, but he most certainly is a Muslim, most obvious thing in the world, wake up, what’s the matter with you guys.

  37. “what’s the matter with you guys.”

    Cindy,
We are infected by factual information, which is the opposite of the disease you suffer known as ignorance.

  38. I stated above that I would need a very big billboard to state my displeasure of President Obamer for whom I thought I was voting for the Change he so-often pledged. Then, I remembered—as a child of the 1950s—the Burma- Shave signs along the highway. They were easy to read by a carsick prone kid learnin’ tae read from an old 1953 Buick speedin’ at 45 mph down them 2-laned roads.

    Obama-Shave

    I hear’d tell of a lawyerman a’spoutin’ Change

An’ he was Black, which was kinda ‘Strange’

But what the heck, in ‘Merca such things we can ‘arrange’

An’ afore you knowed hit, we thought we finally did have Change

However, the bright hopes for what we longed, for war he does ‘exchange’

An’ bush/cheney policies of no habeas corpus he will not ‘unchange’

Why, eternal detention/extra-judicial confinement derive from ‘derange’

Theys’ not rule of law, but way, way ‘out range’

In fact, he did not foster change; instead, he is guilty of hypocritical ‘shortchange’

FOIA, Civil Liberties? Ha! Theys juss fur target practice ‘downrange’

An’ his faithful supporters are now subjected to the category ‘estrange’

Demagoguery is wusser than the durn flea-bitten ‘mange’

    Obama-Shave!

(An’ that sucker did not just give US a close shave; he flat-out cut deep—and remember, “The First Cut is the Deepest”)

You get an A+ for effort!

    I’d write a little verse meself–but it’s nearly Thanksgiving and…

I’ve got furniture to dust and floors to sweep,
And cakes to bake before I sleep,
And cakes to bake before I sleep.

  40. Yes Ma’am, a woman’s gotta do those womanly chores that you cannot trust to just any turkey…

Thanks for the grade–in 2 years or so, I will try to tackle your Grade 4 Remedial Level course.

  41. Simone,

Currently live near Denver, and have worked in Wheat Ridge. This sure looks like a suburb to me:

    http://maps.google.com/maps?hl=en&safe=off&client=firefox-a&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&hs=BiL&resnum=0&q=Wheat+Ridge+CO&um=1&ie=UTF-8&hq=&hnear=Wheat+Ridge,+CO&gl=us&ei=imINS4TyFISqtgOF0qiZAw&sa=X&oi=geocode_result&ct=title&resnum=1&ved=0CA0Q8gEwAA

The Denver Metro area is a hug sprawl you’re right, but come on, it’s a clearly suburban area located right next to Denver. What more do you want? It’s not like I’m claiming that Golden is a Suburb.

  42. FF LEO–

My husband did his share of “manly” chores. He painted two rooms and cleaned the basement. And he even washed the kitchen floor while I was away at a convention last week! What a guy!!!

BTW, my husband is a terrific cook. His homemade pizza and pasta and eggplant lasagna and pot roast are to die for! He doesn’t, however, bake desserts.

Give me a little more time this is was just the first 6 months. I’m taking away a few months for Golf, weekly parties and concerts, basketball, trip to win the olympics, Martha’s Vineyard ect etc ect. A normal person has to work a complete year before any vacation time and or sick days can be accumilated.

  45. BDAman,

While I usually just ignore your ramblings as the nonsensical ravings of a madman, perhaps you’d like to clarify. Are you saying Obama is a Muslim because he’s doing SO much for Muslims or are you saying that he’s a do-nothing President that spends too much time on vacation?

You can’t have it both ways.

  46. Yes he can, Gyges. He’s an amoral pig. He’s a confessed troll in addition to being the guy who intimated he had military authority for putting troops in harm’s way. He called Mike a “Christ Killer”. He’s a fan (if not the man himself) of Byrne – Mr. Question Your Patriotism. Bdaman is valuable here only as an example of enemy trolls. But insanity and lies are always good to shine light on lest the unwary listen to their propagandistic twaddle.

  47. FFLEO,

NPR just blurbed that Obama said he will increase our troops in Afghanistan amd will give specifics next week. I am shocked. Who could have known?

  48. Jill,

Too bad that people like Greenwald, Turley, et al. do not fill positions of political power.

Like you, I am dismayed a bit more each day and very little surprises me anymore.

The only sense that makes sense is nonsense…

  49. Thanks for the comment, to use a line i’ve seen here before.

“I live to be of service”

Obama is singing that song loud and proud to Bush.

  50. He called Mike a “Christ Killer

He called Mike a “Christ Killer

He called Mike a “Christ Killer

  51. Here’s my billboard of choice:

OBAMA: THE NEW FACE OF EMPIRE*

Then take that insipid poster with HOPE on the bottom and change it to reflect reality. Instead of HOPE put, HYPE (this modification already rendered by an artist whose name I don’t know). The face should be Bush’s on the one side, morphing into Obama’s on the other.

*This phrase is also from an artist whose name I don’t know.

  52. For those who just tuned in, bdaman once addressed Mike S. as “Jesus killer” in a posting. He later said he was sorry for that despicable insult, which recalled centuries of anti-Semitic blood libel, but now he his republishing the libel.

This is just to reopen an old wound.

bda does not belong in this conversation.

His target has not even posted on this thread (A Sign of the Times: Colorado Billboard Proclaims the Lunacy Taking Hold in America), so may not even have a chance to rebut the defamation.

bda told Leo D. that one site had banned him and had deleted all his posts.

    Wonder why.

  53. Bdaman 1, November 25, 2009 at 8:02 pm

bda told Leo D. that one site had banned him and had deleted all his posts

Could you provide a link to that comment cause I surely don’t remember saying that or that ever happening.

I know after the dispicable remark I made to Mike S and JT threaten to ban me, I think I mentioned that I looked for some comments I posted here and couldn’t find them and said that JT possibly deleted them. In fact JT said he had deleted some of my comments at that time but I believe it was in that thread.

But it doesn’t matter I’m here whether you want me or not, so thanks for the comment.

  54. Look to Buddah He’s the one that reopened the wound at 1:49 he could of left it alone just like you. I wont mention it as long as no one else does. Keep bringing it up and all your doing is rubbing salt into a deep cut, period, end of discussion.

  55. Back in March 2008 AP had a story where Obama’s Grand ma ma said she was a Christian and so was Obama. I guess she changed, can’t imagine a Christian going to the Hajj. Who Knew

The grandmother of US president Barack Obama has arrived in Saudi Arabia for the ‘Hajj’ or Islamic pilgrimage to the holy cities of Mecca and Medina, a Saudi daily said on Wednesday. Sarah Obama, 87, is being accompanied by a nephew and Obama’s cousin, Omran.

  56. Well you shoulda thought of that before you called someone, “Christ Killer”.

    Troll-boy.

    Old wound indeed.

    Old self-inflicted wound.

    Boo.

    Hoo.

Why don’t you run along and go back into hiding again.

This venue is a tale that always ends badly for you.

  57. Or would you like to assert your credibility again, bdawhatever?

I’m perfectly willing to point out you are not credible and I’m willing use your past actions to do it.

Yeah. I’m a real bastard that way.

    Happy Thanksgiving.

  58. Byron–

I’m sure he would. Just to let you know–both he and I cook without exact recipes.

Just a preliminary: He slices, salts, drains the eggplant. Then he oils a pan and broils the slices before making the lasgana. He doesn’t put any breadcrumb or flour coating on the eggplant. He uses the kind of lasagna noodles that are thin and don’t have to be boiled first. He uses fresh mozzarella and grated Romano–and his homemade sauce, which is thin and light.(He makes it with olive oil, garlic, canned San Marzano tomatoes–and sometimes fresh basil.) He uses lots of sauce so the noodles will soften when they’re baked. His lasagna isn’t heavy at all.

You can email me for more specific directions. Just click on my name. My email address is available at my blog. (I’d prefer not to put a hot link to my email here in the comments.)

    P.S. Happy Thanksgiving!

  59. This venue is a tale that always ends badly for you.

    So you say

Don’t bother me a bit and Happy T-day-2-u

    thanks for the comment

  60. Don’t bother you, eh? You’ve seen what happens when trolls tell me not to bother them, right? I think I’ll bother you lots, bdapassiveaggressive.

It’s in my nature to pester lying anti-Semites and confessed trolls. I know. I’ve seen me do it.

Hey, come to think of it, you’ve seen me to it too.

It really is deja vu all over again.

  61. Awww.

I guess you just forgot the last mauling you got.

Your brain is faulty. That’s what happens when you swallow too much propaganda. And you’ve clearly swallowed too much as it is all you are capable of regurgitating.

It’s a big word that means “puke”. Look it up.

  62. “he opened the wound”

One of the marks of a bigot is the inability to take responsibility for him(her)self. This is Jim Byrnes problem also. He is a bigot who does not want to see a black man as President, yet will never admit it. This isn’t about wounds because ignorant fools words do not wound me. They only fill me with contempt. Jimmy, in his new incarnation, says he wasn’t interested in what was happening in 2000/4 because his guy won. Telling admission isn’t it. It kind of proves that this is all about the winning and nothing about principle. Yet the birther movement claims principle as their motivating force. This is known as lying and hypocrisy.

Bdaman, has claimed to have come from a “mixed marriage” to insulate him from the charge of prejudice, yet “mixed marriage” can have many connotations, most of them not indicative of one of the parents being black. More lies and hypocrisy? I say consider the source. Then we come to the fact that both Byrne and Bdaman seem to work in tandem. Back many threads ago they alluded to a relationship outside of the web. Possibly brothers-in-law. Whether true or not they are “brothers” in deception, lies and racism.

The initial article to this thread actually highlights their M.O.’s.
They were in the other threads highly supportive of Orly Taitz and when she fell on her face, rather than admitting her failure, or even supporting her they were nowhere to be found. The news cycle has moved on and so once again they set up shop with the same old tired arguments and lies. They are used, in their circles of ignorance, to dealing with people with short memories and high ignorance factors. Jimmy B himself can’t remember 2000, except to note his guy won. Coming here where most of us are not handicapped in such a way, makes their feeble arguments and malicious lies all too apparent.

Finally, let me explain why I call them traitors and Anti-American since I realize those are serious charges. When an American treats politics as if he/she is rooting for his/her favorite sports team, caring only that her/his guy won in 2000 for instance, then that person is failing in their duty as a citizen as defined by our Constitution. Politics is the business of governing ourselves and as such should (though admittedly seldom is)be infused with the principle of what is best for the citizenry and the country. These two and their ilk are interested only in their team winning. To me that is traitorous. The Anti-American part is that for society to function with cohesion we must all abide by those rules and rituals that give us cohesion. In this case when somebody is elected to the Presidency legally (and Obama was)then they are owed respect for the position. The birther movement, the teabaggers and the two we have here have not accepted that aspect of the American Social Contract and therefore are Anti-American in their behavior.

A joyous day of Thanksgiving to all of you regulars, to JT and all of your loved ones.

  63. Acomprehensive review of the uncounted Florida ballots from last year’s presidential election reveals that George W. Bush would have won even if the United States Supreme Court had allowed the statewide manual recount of the votes that the Florida Supreme Court had ordered to go forward.

Contrary to what many partisans of former Vice President Al Gore have charged, the United States Supreme Court did not award an election to Mr. Bush that otherwise would have been won by Mr. Gore. A close examination of the ballots found that Mr. Bush would have retained a slender margin over Mr. Gore if the Florida court’s order to recount more than 43,000 ballots had not been reversed by the United States Supreme Court.

  64. Imitator 777,
Michael Weiner by adapting the Savage surname has tried to add a whiff of toughness to his cowardly self, as do his vitriolic monologues. When the time to serve his country came, Michael who backed the Viet Nam war went right to his draft board to claim non-combatant status. He is a Cheney with less accomplishments. It always amuses me that the toughest people are those who don’t proclaim their toughness, while the gutless are those who try to convince everyone of how tough they are.

  65. Mike S:

    Happy Thanksgiving.

“It always amuses me that the toughest people are those who don’t proclaim their toughness, while the gutless are those who try to convince everyone of how tough they are.”

Why is that? But you are right. The guy that yells and screams is usually the guy that will back down from a fight, the guy that just smiles is the one that will kick your butt.

It must have something to do with our great ape cousins. Beating the chest, etc.

  66. Smearing political opponents with false accusations of racism has long been a left-wing staple. The leftist base of the Democratic party simply assumes that conservatives are racists. Any Republican tactic or statement that could possibly be interpreted as racist — no matter how implausibly — is pounced upon and condemned as racism. We saw this during the last election, when every anti-Obama GOP ad was scrutinized, and hidden “racist” elements were pointed out by race-obsessed leftists — even though the supposed racism was invisible to normal, rational people. Today, master of shallow thinking Matt Yglesias has an article in the Daily Beast called, of all things, “Here Come the Racists.”

If you read through Yglesias’ article expecting to find actual examples of racism on the right you’ll be disappointed — well, unless you are a leftist, since you know that conservative criticism of Obama is race-based. Here’s one of Yglesias’ hysterical overstatements,

The Gates affair was the opening right-wingers used to pummel Obama with race-based attacks—to prove that America’s first post-racial presidency was anything but
In Yglesias world, criticizing Obama for how he handles racial topics is itself inherently racist. Isn’t that convenient? Here’s an example of one of these supposed “race-based attacks,” most of which exist only in Yglesias’ imagination.
Brit Hume whined on air that “to be labeled a racist” in today’s America is very bad
Obviously Hume meant being falsely labeled, but Yglesias, with typical intellectual dishonesty, pretends that Hume is against “the existence of social opprobrium against racists.” When you have to reach that far to find “race-based attacks,” you know your case is pretty weak.

Basically anyone that brings up reverse racism, or otherwise doesn’t toe the left-wing line on race, or of course dares to criticize Obama in anyway related to race, must be a racist. That’s the entire substance of Yglesias’ “thinking.” Unlike what he apparently assumes, accusing the president of being a “racial opportunist,” or even labeling Judge Sotomeyer a racist, are not necessarily racist attacks — any more than are incorrect or false accusations of racism by people like Yglesias. When Yglesias falsely accuses people on the right of racism, it isn’t necessarily because he’s a racist himself. It could just be that he’s wrong, being intellectually dishonest, stupid, or otherwise clueless and incapable of determining what constitutes racism.

  67. Yea what he said, you better go around back and practice fallin down cus your gonna be doin alot of it. I ‘m gonna kick ur ass . I’m a bad dude. A troll. A freakin mean ass right wing extremist bigot I tell you so you better not mess with me. A birther since birth. I been kicking and screaming since I came out of the womb. So go ahead make my day. Punk.

  68. How appropriate.

You and Francis have a lot in common, bdatroll. You’re both psychos no one takes seriously but everyone watches. Not so much out of fear but out of caution and the hopes your next utterance will be a comedy gem like “Any of you homos touch me or my stuff and I’ll kill you” or “Christ Killer” or “Quit Picking on Palin” or whatever your marching orders are for the day, Mr. IDon’tHaveAPointI’mJustHereToDisrupt.

    You’re both just laugh riots.

You’ll notice Francis’ complete and total absence from the poster for the film which you reference.

Don’t talk about though. You’re bad? Bring it. You can’t because as far as trolling goes, you got the crap detail defending non-defensible positions but hey, how you chickens set up your pecking order is between you and your boss peckers.

Prove you’re bad. Prove a point for a change instead of being the poster child for Troll-B-Gone. Show us all those mad skills you have dawg. WIN AN ARGUMENT. It doesn’t have to be against me. Against any regular. There isn’t a single one who can’t take you apart, so bring it, Mr. Logical Persuasion. Enthrall us with your Svengali-like acumen.

Otherwise? Go run on your own wheel, hamster.

  69. Bdaman,

Your a Troll. Get on with it. You are a Birther too. I don’t think you are black in any shape, form or fashion. I do think you are a racist.

  70. I do think you are a racist.

I just can’t get anything by you. Look for me in this video. I was there. You won’t be able to figure it out though cause we all think alike, I mean look alike, racist that is.

  71. and now we find out that this paticular group of racist attend T-Parties and are speakers at these events. Right Wing Extremist.

  72. Being a racist has noting to do with how you look, bdadupe.

It’s how you think and act that makes one a racist. Mr. Christ Killer.

Racists are like jackasses of any stripe.

    They come in every color.

    Who’d have thunk it?

But if you have a point other than the top of your head and the desire to pimp out your lunatic pal Herr Beck, you should really come somewhere near it. This is hardly sporting.

  73. Obama has turned the rules of war and the rules of engagement upside-down.

Three SEALs have refused non-judicial punishment — called an admiral’s mast — and have requested a trial by court-martial.
They captured one of the most wanted terrorists in Iraq — the mastermind of the murder and mutilation of four Blackwater USA security guards in Fallujah in 2004. They are now facing criminal charges. Ahmed Hashim Abed, whom the military code-named “Objective Amber,” told investigators he was punched by his captors — and showed a bloody lip as proof.
Instead of awarding medals to the SEAL commandos for for bringing to justice a high-value target, Obama’s Defense Department has filed assault charges against these heroes who have retained lawyers — at their own expense. But it took over three months for charges to be filed against the members of SEIU who beat down Kenneth Gladney, a black man who was selling bumper stickers at a townhall meeting. Oh the humanity!!!!

The guy who has visited the Whitehouse 22 times since January.

  74. “The leftist base of the Democratic party simply assumes that conservatives are racists.”

    UNNR,
I suppose you never heard of Richard Nixon’s “Southern Strategy” that got him elected and changed Republican’s into the racist party forever.

    bdaman,
If as you claim, not prove, you are one of 3 black people on Glenn Becks show all that proves is that you are a self interested person, who cares little for the problems of black people. Why, because Glenn Beck is associated with the Aryan Nation and last I heard they were racists. Black individuals have every right to be sell-outs and shills for those who revile them. No ethnic group is made up of 100% of people who support their aspirations. In most ethnic minorities self hatred can be common. Yes, even among us Jews that you blame for the death of Jesus.

  75. In most ethnic minorities self hatred can be common. Yes, even among us Jews that you blame for the death of Jesus.

Kinda like you supporting Obama who’s backed by Soro’s big time money machine and the most anti semitic person on the face of the earth. Talk about sell outs, look in the mirror.

  76. “I suppose you never heard of Richard Nixon’s “Southern Strategy” that got him elected and changed Republican’s into the racist party forever.”

Changed Republican’s into the racist party forever????

You sir are a bona fide idiot! Now I understand the basis for most of your claims of racism.

  77. BDAMAN SAID “Look for me in this video. I was there”

MIKE SPINDELL “If as you claim, not prove, you are one of 3 black people on Glenn Becks show”

Did you watch the video? BDAMAN does not claim to be on the stage, and the people on the stage are not the only people in the video.

  78. BDAMAN:

Charles Payne is a class act.

I love that guy, he is a stud. One of the best minds in economics and on wall street. If we had more people like him on wall street we wouldn’t be in this mess we find ourselves in now.

What a great human being he is.

  79. Mike S:

I am a conservative as you well know and I am not a racist. The idea that human beings be judged on the basis of a minute difference in their genetic make-up is illogical at best. The only thing that matters is the inside.

  80. “You sir are a bona fide idiot! Now I understand the basis for most of your claims of racism.”

    UNRR,
Idiot is as idiot does. Instead of refuting my historically accuratestatement, which you are obviously incapable of doing, you choose to callme a name for making it. This proves that you are not only an idiot, but don’t even know the history of the party you prefer.

As for not watching the Glenn Beck video, that is true, however, it doesn’t refute the opinion of Glenn Beck, or bdaman I expressed, merely it was an indication of my not wanting to waste my time with a bigots drivel.

“Changed Republican’s into the racist party forever????”

In your warped view of this country, represented by a small minority of the people, the fact that black voters vote 80% for Democrats is what? Probably in your mind proof that they hate white people, or are stupid. My take is they know their enemy, except for a small minority who prefer to lick their enemy’s behind.

  81. “Kinda like you supporting Obama who’s backed by Soro’s big time money machine and the most anti semitic person on the face of the earth.”

    Bdaman,
Well thank you bdaman, as a Jew I always like to take tips from people who think me a “Christ Killer,” on just who I should consider anti-Jewish. It’s also comforting to see that every day, in every way you sling the Republican propaganda, adopting the entire party line and the mythology. I understand that you dislike Mr. Soros, another Jew with money, simply because of his wealth, support for liberal causes and let’s not forget his being a Jew. However, if you are as you claim a black man, given your beliefs in this instance you are projecting them upon Mr. Soros. Otherwise, why does he as a Jew support “the most anti-semitic person on the face of the Earth?” I realize though that you, a purported black person support the most anti-black member of the media Mr. Beck and so it is probably easy for you to make such connections.

  82. From what I have seen a good many blacks are very socially conservative and have more in common with white conservatives than they do with white liberals. Think the recent gay marriage initiative in CA, a large % of blacks voted against gay marriage. There are other such issues in which they would side with conservatives over liberals.

I don’t think blacks, as a general rule, are a unified voting block. There is quite a bit of dissent within the black intellectual community about the wisdom of automatically voting for the democrat candidate. The thinking being that they are being taken for granted by the democratic party. Not exactly a stretch.

In my mind liberty and free markets are not about race they are about the natural condition in which human beings progress and thrive. Those are tenants that benefit all people and know no class or race or religious boundaries or distinctions.

The republican party should quit pandering to Hispanics, Blacks, the religious right, and other interest groups and instead pander to human beings through the promotion of liberty and free markets.

  83. Byron,
You are a conservative as is FFLEO and many others who are definitely not racists. Notice I was referring to the Republican Party and not to Conservatives in general. There is a big difference. If you examine Bdaman’s posts all his points come directly from the current Republican Party talking points. Your comments and FFLEO’s are not party line comments, but actually show thought and make sense from a logical view. Please don’t demean yourself by comparing yourself in any significant way to bdaman, he’s simply not anywhere close to being in your league. I say this not because we agree on a lot of things, but because I respect your integrity and your intelligence, which is much more important than political preferences.

  84. Byron,
You are a conservative as is FFLEO and many others who are definitely not racists. I say this not because we agree on a lot of things, but because I respect your integrity and your intelligence, which is much more important than political preferences.

He would certainly tell me why he disagrees with me and do it in a thoughtful way and might get a dig or 2 in. But what the hell I have been able to learn more about why I believe what I believe by being challenged than by having someone agree with me.

Have you heard of Harriet Myers, Edwin Meese and lets not even mention Bobby Kennedy who of course was not JFK’s personal attorney but even closer. ASSHAT!

  88. gocart mozart,

I had already pointed out Harriet Miers to Bdaman, thank you for adding Meese and Kennedy – not that it will do any good since Bdaman is incapable of reading anyone’s posts (at least there’s no evidence of it so far). My guess is that he’s an like an idiot-savant without the savant part. He’s never posted any ideas of his own here, just tired republican talking points and inane links, ad infinitum. The rest of us, however, enjoy seeing him slapped down, even if he isn’t smart enough to realize it. Nice job.

    Byron,

Just out of curiosity, why do you think that Marx is wrong now? (Personally, I think that his writing is a mix of good ideas and tragic mistakes – the trick is figuring out which is which.) I respect your attempt to encourage Bdaman to use his mind and although I doubt you will be successful, I wish you luck.

    Bdaman,

I just left you an opening – if you use your mind and engage in debate you can prove me wrong! (A considered response to my post on the other thread about science, for instance) And maybe I’ll give you a cookie. ;-) I’m not holding my breath, though.

  89. I have heard that this years gift is an electronic hamster. What will Bdaman have to do if it is perfected?

  90. Update:

The lawsuit that launched a thousand posts at the Retired General thread has been officially pronounced dead.

From the 11th Circuit Court of Appeals:

“Pursuant to the 11th Cir.R.42-2(c), this appeal is dismissed for want of prosecution because the appellant failed to file brief and record excerpts within the time fixed by the rules.”

It looks like Orly led Major Stefan Cook out onto a long, long limb — and then chopped the tree down. She never filed a brief, and never filed the records.

Hawaii officials confirm Obama’s original birth certificate still exists

    By Dan Nakaso
    Advertiser Staff Writers

In November 2008, The Advertiser reported that the first published mention of the future president appeared in a Sunday Advertiser birth announcement that ran on Aug. 13, 1961:

“Mr. and Mrs. Barack H. Obama, 6085 Kalanianaole Hwy., son, Aug. 4.”

The identical announcement ran the following day in the Honolulu Star-Bulletin.

Birthers wave off those birth announcements, saying that Obama family members 48 years ago could have phoned in false information to both newspapers.

Such vital statistics, however, were not sent to the newspapers by the general public but by the Health Department, which received the information directly from hospitals, Okubo said.

Birth announcements from the public ran elsewhere in both papers and usually included information such as the newborn’s name, weight and time of birth.

“Take a second and think about that,” wrote Robert Farley of the St. Petersburg (Fla.) Times’ Pulitzer Prize winning Web site PoliticFact.com on July 1. “In order to phony those notices up, it would have required the complicity of the state Health Department and two independent newspapers — on the off chance this unnamed child might want to one day be president of the United States.” END QUOTE

From the Honolulu Advertise, July 28, 2009: QUOTE

Hawaii officials confirm Obama’s original birth certificate still exists

    By Dan Nakaso
    Advertiser Staff Writers

Hawai’i’s Health Department confirmed yesterday that it has President Obama’s original Aug. 4, 1961, birth certificate in storage, but the announcement is unlikely to satisfy conspiracy theorists who insist Obama was born in Kenya.

“We don’t destroy vital records,” Health Department spokeswoman Janice Okubo said. “That’s our whole job, to maintain and retain vital records.”

The Health Department’s director reiterated yesterday that she has seen Obama’s birth records.

“I, Dr. Chiyome Fukino, director of the Hawai’i State Department of Health, have seen the original vital records maintained on file by the Hawai’i State Department of Health verifying Barack Hussein Obama was born in Hawai’i and is a natural-born American citizen,” Fukino said in a statement. “I have nothing further to add to this statement or my original statement issued in October 2008, over eight months ago.”

Fukino tried on Oct. 31 to put an end to the belief among so-called “birthers” that Obama was not born in Honolulu’s Kapiolani Maternity & Gynecological Hospital. The birthers insist that Obama was not born in the U.S. and is therefore ineligible to be president.

Despite Fukino’s statement yesterday — and several court rulings and statements by Hawai’i’s Republican governor, Linda Lingle, the issue continued to resonate from Capitol Hill to the blogosphere.

A congressional resolution introduced yesterday by Rep. Neil Abercrombie, D-Hawai’i, commemorating the 50th anniversary of Island statehood was temporarily postponed because birthers objected to a clause noting Obama was born in Hawai’i, said Dave Helfert, an Abercrombie spokesman.

The line “Whereas the 44th President of the United States, Barack Obama, was born in Hawaii on August 4, 1961;” appeared to be construed by birthers as a thinly veiled attempt to get Congress to affirm Obama’s U.S. citizenship, Helfert said.

As the issue came to a vote yesterday, Minnesota Republican Congresswoman Michele Bachmann rose to object, saying there was not a quorum present.

The House later voted unanimously 378-0 to approve the resolution. Bachmann voted in favor of the resolution.

    original form exists

Mainland media has also continued to focus attention on the birthers. CNN’s Lou Dobbs last week demanded Obama’s original birth certificate. That was followed by CNN/U.S. President Jon Klein telling staffers of “Lou Dobbs Tonight” that the issue is a “dead” story, according to a Los Angeles Times report.

In an e-mail, according to the Times, Klein wrote that CNN researchers had determined that Obama’s 1961 birth certificate no longer exists because Hawai’i officials had discarded paper documents in 2001 — a claim denied yesterday by Isle health officials.

In 2001, Hawai’i’s paper documents were reproduced in electronic format but “any paper data prior to that still exists,” Health Department spokeswoman Okubo said.

Okubo would not say where Obama’s original birth certificate is, but said “we have backups for all of our backups.”

“Our Certificate of Live Birth is the standard form, which was modeled after national standards that are acceptable by federal agencies and organizations,” Okubo said. “With that form, you can get your passport or your soccer registration or your driver’s license.”

One thing that remains unclear is whether Obama has a copy of the original 1961 Certificate of Live Birth, or if he would even be allowed to see it if he asked.

Hawai’i’s disclosure law (Hawai’i Revised Statutes 338-18) states that “it shall be unlawful for any person to permit inspection of, or to disclose information contained in vital statistics records, or to copy or issue a copy of all or part on any such record … ”

The law further states that the Health Department “shall not permit inspection of public health statistics records, or issue a certified copy of any such record or part thereof, unless it is satisfied that the applicant has a direct and tangible interest in the record.”

Those who have “direct and tangible interest” are generally limited to the person named in the record, the spouse, parent, descendant, or personal representative, or by someone who is involved in marital, parental or death litigation involving the named person’s vital record or other legal reason established by a court order, and various official agency or organization representatives, including the state director of health, according to the law.

    format changed

The standard “Certification of Live Birth” that Hawai’i health officials now issue — and was posted on Obama’s campaign Web site — has less information than was required on the “Certificate of Live Birth” that Eleanor Nordyke was issued for each of her twin daughters on Aug. 5, 1961.

Nordyke was in labor at Kapiolani Maternity & Gynecological Hospital the same time as Obama’s late mother, Stanley Ann Dunham, Nordyke said. She gave birth to twins the day after Obama was born, Nordyke said, and her daughters later attended Punahou School with Obama.
The modern-day birth certificates issued to anyone seeking their Hawai’i birth records have spaces for the names and races of the parents, as well as information such as the time of birth.

Nordyke’s 1961 birth certificates required much more information, such as the ages, occupations and birthplaces of the babies’ parents.

There was a box to determine whether the mother’s address was “on a Farm or Plantation,” and the signature — but not the name — of the “attendant” was required, as well as boxes to determine whether the attendant was an “M.D.,” “D.O.,” “midwife” or “other.”

Birthers have failed to get state and federal courts in Hawai’i, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Ohio, California, Georgia and Mississippi to force Hawai’i officials to produce a copy of Obama’s birth certificate, with many of the courts agreeing with Lingle’s administration that birth records are confidential.

In October, the Hawai’i Supreme Court denied a writ of mandamus on behalf of Internet columnist Andy Martin. The court ruled that Martin did not have a “direct tangible interest” in seeking Obama’s birth certificate.

In December, the U.S. Supreme Court — without comment — declined to hear arguments in another case alleging Obama did not meet the Constitution’s citizenship requirements.

    first mention

In November 2008, The Advertiser reported that the first published mention of the future president appeared in a Sunday Advertiser birth announcement that ran on Aug. 13, 1961:

“Mr. and Mrs. Barack H. Obama, 6085 Kalanianaole Hwy., son, Aug. 4.”

The identical announce- ment ran the following day in the Honolulu Star-Bulletin.

  94. My apologies in advance, my handler has ordered me to redirect my efforts to the climategate scandal. We are on full TRtHK Alert here at the command center and are trying to identify the responsible party who hacked the server at CRU.

Once identified we are told to use all means necessary to persuade this party to hack the server at the Hawaiin DOH.

It may be are only chance to see the original BC on file before they accidentally dump the original raw data.

I will be back with my regular copy/paste troll commenting after my efforts have been exhausted.

    Sincerely,
    Bdatroll

    yes drill SARgent
cus you told me to drill SARgent.

  95. Not as observiant as you AY, hey looking for some part time work.
You can work from home and all that is necessary is to know how to utilize the left and right click of the hamster wheel.

The pay is extremley guut and yew dun eve n gots to no how to spill. you just copy and paste

  96. Well Bdaman You are Observiant,

That is a good screen name as it implies loyalty as one would pay close attention to detail.

Of course I could always use double or triple income. But there are very few jobs that permit one to peruse the other income while at work for one master unless of course you work for the Government. Then all bets are off.

  97. Thanks for forwarding the ad you answered for your current position. It’s nice to know that the Necon GOP are as brilliant as you, bdadupe. Either that or they are letting cats compose their twaddle now. Given the quality of your work, I tend to go with the former as cats have a better grasp on that which they opine than you even if your spelling and grammar are on par.

  98. I didn’t tell you to do squat. I think you should shut up, but that’s a personal preference not a request or command because I think propaganda spewing trolls suck. You keep screwing this pooch all on your own, sport. I’m just pointing out what you’re doing. “Hey! Look at the guy humping the dog!”

And I’ll keep doing so as long you keep posting your trash here, you bigot troll.

You left once and were allowed a fairly graceful exit considering the way people like your buddy Jim got shown the door.

To expect mercy twice is a false expectation.

  99. AWWW Buddah I’m sorry am I getting under your finger nails like a bamboo shoot this morning. Now thats torture. The closet thing you’ll probably ever know about that is a little hang nail on your wittle finger. It hurts, momma get me a band aid.

You would probably prefer that JT treat me the way they did Lord Monckton back in April of this year. This is how debate is handled.

UK’s Lord Christopher Monckton, a former science advisor to Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher, claimed House Democrats have refused to allow him to appear alongside former Vice President Al Gore at a high profile global warming hearing on Friday April 24, 2009 at 10am in Washington. Monckton told Climate Depot that the Democrats rescinded his scheduled joint appearance at the House Energy and Commerce hearing on Friday. Monckton said he was informed that he would not be allowed to testify alongside Gore when his plane landed from England Thursday afternoon.

“The House Democrats don’t want Gore humiliated, so they slammed the door of the Capitol in my face,” Monckton told Climate Depot in an exclusive interview. “They are cowards.”

  100. You don’t bother me a bit. I dislike you intensely but doesn’t mean you bother me. That’d be because I have something called “self-control”. If anything, you are becoming irate. Look at the length of that last bit of sputum and how knee-jerk it is in reaction. Lots of sulking in between. Just like someone backed into a corner.

    I think you’re a fine negative example.

Like I said, you’re humping this all on your own. I’m just pointing out the Freak Show (no offense to freaks).

You feel free to leave if you get tired of people pointing out your a bigoted propaganda puppet.

Because it’s not going to stop. Why? Because you are what you is, bdatroll. So you keep on humpin’ and I’ll keep on pointin’, but you’re no bother at all.

  101. Like I give a damn what a bigot troll thinks of me. Or anything.

    That’s funny.

    Enjoy the ridicule.

    It’ll never stop.

  102. As Bdaman has hijacked two threads (that I know of) with his climate change trolling, I was wondering if Professor Turley could open up a thread on the hacked climate change e-mails so we could move this discussion to a place where it would be on-topic.

  103. Slartibartfast,

Would it make a difference. He would hijack the thread under a new name such as Observiant. The many reincarnations of Bdaman. At least its not like the Many Loves of Dobie Gillis well maybe he could be a real Maynard.

  104. “UK’s Lord Christopher Monckton, a former science advisor to Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher, claimed House Democrats have refused to allow him to appear alongside former Vice President Al Gore at a high profile global warming hearing on Friday April 24, 2009 at 10am in Washington.”

Similar headline circa 1939. Herr Gustav Schweinhundt, eugenics adviser to Adolph Hitler protests his not being allowed to speak to a congressional committee along with human rights activists on why Hitler is pursuing Jews. Same difference, just more pungent knowing its’ bdaman’s quote.

  105. “As Bdaman has hijacked two threads (that I know of) with his climate change trolling”

    Slarti,
Any time we give this person the credence of discussion we give him power. Ignorance, deception, bigotry and lying are his trademarks and given that he is incapable of rational discussion.

  106. AY and Mike S,

I realize that Bdaman is a troll who adds nothing to any discussion, but the hacked e-mails are a legitimate issue with legal implications that people (like Byron) seem to want to discuss. Just because a troll raised a discussion doesn’t mean that the topic is necessarily bad and in this case, I think there are significant and interesting issues to be addressed. Giving the troll an appropriate place to post his lies where people who care (like me) can refute them is just an additional bonus. In any case, I’ve made my request and Professor Turley is free act on it as he wishes (if he sees it at all).

  107. Slarti,
Sorry if I sounded like I wanted you to follow my lead. that’s not the case. You can deal with this any way you want and that’s fine with me because I respect you, your writing and your intelligence. Nor am I interested in having bdaman banned. I am merely making clear how I see fit to deal with him and while that may work for me, I’m aware that it doesn’t always make me right and may legitimately not work for others.

  108. Mike S,

No apology necessary, I didn’t take your comment that way at all. I’ve already said that you convinced me that you and Buddha are correct in your comments about Bdaman. I just think that this is a valid topic which merits it’s own thread – I like it when a post on a birther thread is an Orly update from Vince or a lame theory for him to crush, not Bdaman with 42 consecutive posts on climate change denial. If I’m going to try to answer his ignorance and lies (say a pale imitation of Vince’s job on the birthers), it’s much easier to do it if the topic has its own thread.

  109. Slart, this is all very familiar. Bda and buenavistamall had a habit of hijacking threads. Most of the earlier birther threads under under many different unrelated topic. The off-topic posts always multiply because of the need to answer misinformation.

Once JT started Orly and other birhter threads like this one, then the trolls began a new series of hijacks, this time with climate control.

  110. At least I didn’t rape anybody like some guy named jefferson did over at the Barbie thread. I think he was white and she was black and use to work for him.

  111. The latest on the lunacy front is that Judge David Carter in the Central District of California has denied the motion for reconsideration in Keyes v. Obama and Barnett v. Obama:

“After reviewing the moving and opposing papers, the Court finds no factual, legal, or bias grounds upon which to grant the motion for reconsideration. Counsel largely repeats the same arguments made in her briefing and oral argument on the Motion to Dismiss, which is prohibited. To the extent that she does present new argument, it is without merit and does not meet the standard for reconsideration. The Court’s ruling that it lacks jurisdiction, and that Plaintiffs have failed to state aclaim on their remaining causes of action, stands.”

It is now on to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit.

Written Prediction (TM)(c)(R): Dismissal of plaintiffs’ case affirmed.

Unless, of course, Orly fouls up as she did in Cook v. Good, and never manages to get around to filing a brief. Since she broke up with convicted felon disbarred former lawyer Charles Edward Lincoln, the literary style of her filings has changed.

  112. On December 2nd, conservative talk show host Rusty Humphries asked the former Republican vice presidential candidate whether she would make Obama’s birth certificate an issue if she ran for president. Palin responded, “I think the public rightfully is still making it an issue. I don’t have a problem with that.”

Steve Pendlebury has a sarcastic article in Sphere, described as “the next phase in the evolution of AOL News.” He comments on Sarah Palin’s remark, and includes a bunch of quotes, the purpose of which is to diminish Palin and assign her to “the fringe”

In the article is an AOL Poll that asks the question: “Do you think it’s fair to question President Obama’s citizenship?”
    http://www.sphere.com/2009/12/04/the-point-sarah-palin-flirts-with-birthers/?icid=main|htmlws-main-n|dl1|link6|http%3A%2F%2Fwww.sphere.com%2F2009%2F12%2F04%2Fthe-point-sarah-palin-flirts-with-birthers%2F

this morning 12/6/09, the results were: 67% “Yes” — 33% “No” — with a total vote of a little over 83,000.

You CAN NOT get around the fact that if Hawaii has the ORIGINAL as they claim, why not show that one instead of the one provided on the internet.

Why after all this time is his birth certificate still being called into question. Why is Greg Craig, Whitehouse counsel stepping down and being replaced by Obama’s personal attorney Robert Bauer whom has litigated almost all of the court cases that seek the release of the presidents birth and college records. Major defections are occuring with lawyers in this administration http://www.politico.com/news/stories/1209/30175.html

  113. Nathan Deal congressman from GA. states he and ten others will send a letter to the president asking him to release his original certificate. http://savannahnow.com/news/2009-11-18/nathan-deal-calls-obama-produce-birth-certificate-proving-hes-eligible-presidency

I find it very funny that the press can find every woman that Tiger Woods has had an affair with in the last few years, complete with photos, text messages, recorded phone calls, etc. They know not only the cause of the family fight but even know it was a wedge from his golf bag that she was breaking out the windows in the Escalade. Not only that they know which wedge.

but the same press cannot locate Obama’s ORIGINAL birth certificate, or any of the rest of Obama’s records.

  114. It’s very funny that an idiot troll can’t comprehend accepted standards of evidence and the concept of res judicata.

Oh, wait. No it isn’t. “Funny” isn’t quite right.

    “Par for the course.”

    That’s what it is.

AGAIN: There’s plenty of REAL things to bag on Obama about, half-wit. Find one, bdapuppet.

He’s a citizen no matter how much or how long you whine, you racist bigot you. And that’s what it is: whining. You birthers are starting to sound like a bunch of pre-schoolers past their nap time.

He’s also violating the Constitution just like your Neocon masters. He can’t make up law any more than Bush could except ILLEGALLY. You know, a REAL illegality. Like Cheney when he committed treason. An ACTUAL crime. Any law derived from either the Patriot Act or the a signing statement is unconstitutional and NO ONE SHOULD OBEY THEM. Period. End of story.

One is a legitimate reason to complain, the other is childish deliberately induced mental retardation that the dumbest segment of the American populace eats up like cotton candy because it re-enforces their ridiculous notions that they are superior to everyone simply because they are white and under- and uneducated.

Because the stupid is who propaganda and propagandists targets. Smart people won’t buy bullshit long term. Dumb people eat it like they like it. Because they do. Thinking for themselves is too much work and it’d keep you from watching that Toby Keith concert on GAC and cleaning your guns while your 13 year old daughter is in the next room getting pregnant from the pizza boy. Single wide or double wide, it’s still noisy and pathetic that people wallow in their own ignorance like it’s a badge of pride. “I’m A Birther, A Moron, and Proud of It!”

AGAIN: Find something real to bitch about. Or keep being the resident object of ridicule for being a slow witted racist tool.

    As always, your choice.

  115. There’s plenty of REAL things to bag on Obama about, half-wit. Find one, bdapuppet.

I agree, here allow me to give you an example

Barack Obama’s Safe Schools Czar Kevin Jennings founded the Gay, Lesbian, and Straight Education Network (GLSEN). Recently he was appointed by the Obama administration to run the Office of Safe & Drug Free Schools in the US Department of Education. In 2007 Kevin Jennings was paid $273,573.96 as the executive director of GLSEN.

In 2000 GLSEN held an anniversary conference. From the content of the workshops it was clear that the organization was not so much about tolerance as it was about teaching children about sex. This conference was fully supported by the Massachusetts Department of Education, the Safe Schools Program, the Governor’s Commission on Gay & Lesbian Youth, and some of the presenters even received federal money.

One of the activists asks 14 year olds, “Spit or swallow?… Is it rude?”

Now why in the hell would The “O” appoint this guy school safety Czar. Open your mouth and make an O while pondering the question.

  116. Everyone who has ever read your dreck knows the only reason your panties are in a bunch is this guy used to represent homosexuals.

    Try again, you bigoted POS.

  117. Your right especially when they target the 12-14 year olds. You know why Mr. Buddah Pest, cause the 12-14 year olds know all the 10 and 11 year olds. Obama and Acorn also want to bring kids to the U.S. and introduce them to the sex trade industry.

    Frank Marshall taught Obama well.

  118. Rush Limbaugh and the Neocons didn’t teach you a thing. Except how to be a distortionist liar, bdatroll.

TRY AGAIN, HOMOPHOBIC BIGOT. Someone’s sexual orientation does not preclude them from a job in education nor prime facie evidence of pedophilia. Too bad for you, faggot hater.

If you get anywhere close to a legitimate issue, it’ll be amazing.

  119. So your reply to the accusation your only concern is your homophobia (and other bigotry) is a song saying “It doesn’t matter.”

My but you are a simple creature. And not simple in the complementary sense of the word, bdabigot.

Yeah, you are an expert in rotating and pivoting. You just demonstrated you can do that move to try to make up for losing a stroke. Too bad your masters won’t give you a reach around.

    TRY AGAIN.

Try to come close to a legitimate complaint. Or keep parading your small minded bigoted trollery.

Based on past performance, I’m thinking you’re more No. 2. In more ways than one. I don’t mean the Leo McKern/Ian McKellen character from “The Prisoner” either.

  120. You are one bright individual, it’s a shame you let your talent go to waste. Or was it like the climate, out of your control.

Many don’t believe this but I’m a Psychic, it runs in the family. My grandfather knew the day, date and time he was going to die.

    A judge told him

What did the judge tell you?
