Lemon Heist Goes Sour: Man Arrested for Robbing Lemonade Stand

Steve Tryon, 18, should probably tell the guys in the cellblock that he is a carjacker. Tryon was arrested this week in Terre Hautem Indiania after not only robbing a little girl’s lemonade stand but being chased by 12-year-old Dominique Morefield.

The lemonade caper began when Tryon went up to Morefield at her lemonade stand and allegedly demanded “Give me your money.” Morefield handed over $17.50. However, she then gave chase and followed him to a nearby house and called police. He was arrested on the felony charge of robbery and held on a $50,000 bond.

Of course, criminals have to start somewhere. Indeed, knocking over lemonade stands has long been cited in movies as the start for career criminals. You start by knocking off the neighborhood lemonade stand and then work up to strong arming the girl scout cookie operation and then eventually make it to bank robbery.

  1. I’m Dominique Morefield and i just love reading all these nice comments about what happened! Although i hate it when some websites say that i’m ten! When it happened i was twelve but now im 13. Thanks to everyone for supporting me, it really means a lot and makes my day!

  2. A 2 minute lemonade stand robbery yields $18.50? That adds up. If it weren’t for vigilante 12 year old girls, I might have switched professions.
