Candy Addiction: Father Arrested After His Son Handed Out Cocaine in Daycare After Being Told It Was “Candy”

shaheed+wrightShaheed Wright, 25, was arrested in New Jersey last week after he allegedly hid cocaine in his four-year-old son’s jacket and told him it was “candy. His son believed him and took the cocaine to school and shared it with his classmates.

Police found several baggies of the drugs at the day care center. One girl was seen by a teacher chewing on a bag with powder cocaine in her mouth. The girl, Wright’s son, and two boys were rushed to the hospital.

He now faces four counts of child endangerment and drug possession charges. As a defense attorney, I would advise him that this is not a jury case. Call me crazy but I think a plea in likely in the works.
