Meet Clifford Garrison: The Alleged “Honeymoon Bandit”

According to police, Clifford Garrison is simply irresistible to women. Known as “The Honeymoon Bandit,” Garrison allegedly woos women and then runs away with their money. It is the wooing part that leaves me a bit confused.

Garrison, 60, allegedly swindled more than half a million dollars out of his wives in 2000. He adopts various identities such as golf pro or former POW to interest the women.

Garrison cannot resist spreading the love. After being sent to jail in 1999, he took out an ad in the personals section of the San Francisco Bay Guardian for a wife as a lonely executive.

Nines wives like nine lives proved his limit. He was arrested this week and spent Valentine’s Day in jail.

  1. Wow- I can not believe this is still going on- we are the friends that introduced Cliff (Gardener) to our friend, Elizabeth. Please advise where he is living now so there is a heads up to all women. Also, a recent picture if you have one.

He was a good friend of our family but we always had a we will believe it when we see it attitude towards his “fortune”- and his reservations on the Concorde (yes, he booked a flight on an extinct airline) to Paris. His lost credit cards that AmEx wouldn’t overnight to him (after a month)- whenever we questioned him with skepticism, he came up with another story. He would put pictures of Tiffany jewelry in a card as a gift and say that delivery was delayed. Made no sense.

Corinna- I do know about you, and about a sister in Belleville and a brother in law (with amputated legs) and sick grand nieces. He said your mom, Pam was killed in a DD accident in 2008. I hope she is doing okay.

What a shame- he is so clever and weirdly detail oriented except he didn’t understand- millionaires, even non-descript millionaires, do not wear velcro shoes and ripped fake Members Only Jackets. Velcro shoes for adults are pretty much only available in jails or prisons- my husband had that pegged from day one. He was the king of “I told you so” when this hit the fan and rightly so- good luck Corinna and I think LInda (his sister) and of course Derry whom I know on line from all of this- and Terri I hope you are doing okay too- ayoontg@hotmail.com

  2. Well ladies, just want to introduce myself as Clifford’s latest victim. My story is a four month on line romance…much like the others. The lies he told were so incredible, one would have to believe them because it just didn’t seem like anyone could fabricate them so effectively. Corrina, he even sent me an email that was supposedly from you….several in fact. All bogus email addresses that were tied directly to his IPP address. He even set up a bogus email address for his sister and emailed me as though he was her. Wow! This guy is good! Too bad he can’t put all that charm, charisma, intelligence, and focus into something positive….he could probably earn allot of money ligitimately. How do people like this sleep at night? How do they look themselves in the mirror knowing what pain they have perpetrated on others? He happened to catch me in the mourning and grieving process for the loss of my husband only 5 months earlier. I was vulnerable and willing prey to his phony kindnesses, commitments of love and marriage….oh, and yes, the infamous trip to Paris! Not to mention other lies he told me and others like he was a retired Lt. Colonel in the Air Force in Intell….two years in VietNam…pro golfer, with 20 million dollars he inherited from his Dad by way of General Motors stocks he cashed in. I live in Canyon Lake, CA and if anyone is interested in contacting me for further details, please feel free. I’m hoping my postings will alert others in my area that he is scamming from a dating website locally in my area. Ladies be careful on the dating website SeniorMeetsPeople.com. That’s where I met him. You many contact me through my email address: JonesyDesigns@verizon.net. My name is Terri. Let’s put this creep back in jail. 9/24/2011

  3. Corrina..I am so sorry that he hurt your mom,you and everyone else he has come in contact with..I recently along with other classmates of 1967 BHS reconnected after 43 years with Cliff…I knew something wasn’t right so I spent enough time with him I searched for answers until I found out the name Garrison is his real name.. we knew him as Bricks.. when I googled Garrison I was shocked to see the life he has lived. Fox2 was contacted once again He claimed he had cancer with just months to live ..after more checking I found this not to be true..I do think after being caught so easily twice in Michigan within 1 year he may be be slipping and with age he isn’t as smooth as perhaps he once was…He really needs help..when he can lie about the cancer…that is getting desperate..lets just hope he is locked up soon..you have made it without him you don’t need him for sure.

  4. He hurt more than just the immediate family. He stold from my Mom and sold it so that he could go get drunk. He missed a few child support payments. When he was married to my Mom he had her ask her Mom and Dad to loan him some money so that he could get her a promise ring; instead he went and bought a lady named Peggy an engagement ring. He was a dead beat Dad! I heard from him mostly when he was in prison; when he got out it was see ya. I have 7 children and 6 grandchildren. He met 6 of my children way back when; and he has never seen any of his great grandchildren. We are all better off without him. If i can make it without him then all you wonderful ladies out there can find someone who will be true to you and your family. Please ladies alone or ladies with children dont fall for this man no matter how wonderful it may seem. He only wants one thing from you and your family and it isnt your love. Please keep yourself from being his next VICTIM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  5. Clifford ;
Had not seen you over 40 years . Cannot beleive all this said about you . Must be true. Not the you that I know back then . Riding around town in the 65 mustang turning off the key and back fireing the muffler . you can’t do that with todays cars .How could you steal from people that cared about you , ass hole ! We was raised better then that . The people all around you , as you was growing up didn’t do that kinda shit . We was taught to help one onother shit head . No one of your friends ever riped you off . Way did you did you not stay out west if your going to do this kinda shit ? Feel bad for your the couple who took you in and saved your ass as a baby and your sisters . Next time your in the clinker and you have time on your hands , think about the back yard family get togethers

  6. If republicans can convince America that they’re Patriots, then this guy can convince women he’s handsome. Boy, the things we Americans buy when sold with conviction.

  7. Ugh!:

rule of thumb: when people start talking about how religious they are, grab your wallet and hold on. You are about to be relieved of it.

I have found it to be true about 90% of the time. People who are truly religious don’t spread it around like jelly on toast.

  8. In immortal words of Rodney Dangerfield in Caddy Shack, Garrison “musta been something before electricity.”

  9. This guy would be ugly to a blind woman. I guess if you are lonely enough and this guy is kind to you, it might blind your “vision”.

  10. UGH! Stop blaming the women. Kindness goes a long way and if it’s fake how the heck can you tell? We know one of these women and she is smart, funny, good, beautiful and an a hard worker. Take a look into the big story, they ALL were. We know him too and he was charming, kind, well read and seemingly a retired hard worker. Who does background checks on nice, kind, religious people that you meet incidentally and hit it off? No one. He is a con man, that is his JOB. To be nice, charming and fool people. If people weren’t trusting and kind- he would have quit a long time ago and been a nice normal old guy that people would have liked anyway. He wasn’t retired from the FBI, CSI, the military or whatever, he has a line of baloney that is so low key- actually, he was retired from San Quentin as a prisoner- AND he was using a fake name. Normal people can’t do a background checks on a fake person and why would they? Clean him up, see how fooled you would be by an nice old man. Thankfully he was stopped before he caused more damage.

  11. Just trying to think like any good LEO. Just making up the facts based upon the observation. And I have to make the facts fit the evidence.

  12. AY,
I have no doubt of his commitment, it’s how he hooks the commitment of the women that I’m questioning.
    Good morning to you btw.

  13. I think what people are missing all looks aside, is his commitment. Commitment to your checking account, your valuables anything of tangible value.

His historical values are self evident. Like I said catch me if you can….

  14. Garrison must be incredibly charismatic, because on first glance I cannot see anything irresitable about him!
