Those small town values can add up. After quitting her job as Alaska Governor before the end of her term, Sarah Palin has raked in an estimated $12 million since July. Between speaking fees and her new reality show, Palin is becoming one of the wealthiest political figures in the country. In the meantime, questions are being raised about one organization that paid a speaking fee for Palin in California.
Pundits can debate the political costs and benefits of Sarah Palin’s decision to step down as Alaska governor, but the monetary advantages of leaving her $125,000-a-year public service post are beyond dispute.
This amounted includes $7 million deal for her first book and will earn $250,000 per episode for her new reality show.

California Attorney General Jerry Brown has ordered an investigation into the shredding of documents related to a Palin speech by the Cal State Stanislaus foundation, here. A state legislator had demanded documents on the speech, which may have come with a hefty $100,000 speaking fee.
Byron,
Let me get this straight: You like SAUERKRAUT on your dogs, but KETCHUP is un-American? That is just so wrong…
As Clint Eastwood said
I think your starting to remember Byron.
Byron,
In the 70’s 30% of Federal revenue came from corporate income taxes, today it is 7%. What do you think of that? (I heard this statistic on liberal talk radio this afternoon.)
Gyges:
I swear by all that is holy, that I have never in my life put ketchup on hot dogs, bratwurst, polish, knackwurst, etc..
As Clint Eastwood said “Thats un-American” 🙂
Sounds to me like the Shirks are self-righteous about their OWN children and circumstance but don’t like the thought of anyone else benefiting from government assistance. Their children are blessings to them therefor they are deserving of the assistance but anyone else is taking a chunk of their paycheck….
Another strange and blatantly obvious issue….
10 KIDS!!!!!!!!!
Byron,
You put kraut on a hot-dog and I’m the one off my game? Getting the Sausage\Condiment combination is important. I’ve kicked people out of my house for putting ketchup on Brats and\or Polish.
Elaine:
“Byron–
The government is screwing the rich????? Didn’t you mean to say that politicians are in bed with the wealthy who contribute to their campaigns?”
That works for me too. there was a recent race around here where the woman running, a republican, had all sorts of fund raisers but at $250 to $500 per event so the hired help were not able to attend. I wrote her 2 or 3 times asking if she could have one for $50 to $100 so more people could attend. I never heard from her and the last fund raiser was $500 and then she sent a fund raising email. Needless to say it went in the round file and I did not vote for her.
Gyges:
I guess too much 30%er has you off your game?
Sit back, relax and have a home brew 🙂
gYGES:
“Byron,
So a PETA activist isn’t being hypocritical because he only beats one of his dogs?”
I would have thought at your age you would know you cant beat dog, especially with onion and sauerkraut 🙂
Confused
You am what? 🙂 🙂
Or I am 🙂

You said: “Isn’t that what the Tea Partiers really want? Is for the government to just balance the books.”
In the above comment of yours I thought you were trying to tell me that tea partiers like the Shirks wanted the federal government to tighten its belt and balance its budget.
I responded: “You’re telling me that people like the Shirks would like the federal government that pays for programs like Medicaid for THEIR family to tighten its belt and balance its budget. Is that correct? ”
You then said: “If it was me, and it’s not, I think I would be saying look if you don’t tighten the belt there won’t be the level of service or medicaid left, but certainly, I don’t know enough about the Shirks to tell you anything about them.”
I guess I’m confused by what you’re trying to tell me.
You’re telling me that people like the Shirks would like the federal government that pays for programs like Medicaid for THEIR family to tighten its belt and balance its budget. Is that correct?
If it was me, and it’s not, I think I would be saying look if you don’t tighten the belt there won’t be the level of service or medicaid left, but certainly, I don’t know enough about the Shirks to tell you anything about them. Who knows maybe some of the children are not biologically theirs.
“Inflammatory Palinitis?”
That works Woosty! And I have it right now.
I may have posted the following Sarah Palin video here before. Forgive me if I have–but it’s a favorite of mine. God love ya, Jack Cafferty!

What you’re saying sounds like typical tea party logic to me.
– The Shirks have 10 children.
– The Shirks can’t afford private healthcare insurance for their children so they get Medicaid coverage for their family from the federal government.
– The Shirks don’t send their children to public school in their community, which would cost their local school system and taxpayers $5,000-$8,000 per child annually.
– The Shirks are saving their local community thousands of dollars by not sending their many children to public school–therefore, they aren’t costing people who pay federal income taxes a penny.
You’re telling me that people like the Shirks would like the federal government that pays for programs like Medicaid for THEIR family to tighten its belt and balance its budget. Is that correct? Maybe the government wouldn’t have such a hard time balancing its budget if it didn’t have to help support families like the Shirks. Maybe the Shirks could do a better job of balancing their own budget.
I believe in many government assistance programs. What I can’t abide are people like the Shirks who are hypocrites about such programs.
I believe a lot of tea partiers don’t have a clue. I think some aren’t living in the real world. I’ve heard some of them say that they want the government to get its hand off their Medicare. Their logic eludes me.
Excuse me, that last should be addressed to BDA
And I’m stuck in the middle with you Byron 🙂
