Obama Clears Reputation of General Falsely Accused By Nixon

The late Air Force Gen. John D. Lavelle has finally had his name cleared by the Obama Administration and Congress. In 1972, Lavelle was made the scapegoat for bombing missions in North Vietnam by President Nixon who lied to the public and trashed the career of Lavelle who was following orders.

Recently reviewed records show that Nixon and Henry Kissinger openly discussed destroying the career of this innocent man. Nixon had qualms over blaming Lavelle but went ahead and did so. Kissinger, who is still alive, never came forward to admit that they lied.

In one exchange, Nixon says “I just don’t want him to be made a goat, goddamnit, You, you destroy a man’s career. . . . Can we do anything now to stop this damn thing?” In another exchange, he brings it up again with Kissinger, stating “Frankly, Henry, I don’t feel right about our pushing him into this thing and then, and then giving him a bad rap,” the president said. “I don’t want to hurt an innocent man.” That didn’t seem to be a particularly great burden for either man. In a public press conference, Nixon lies and says that no orders were given and “it was proper for him to be relieved and retired.” Lavalle was demoted and forced into retirement. Lavelle took the betrayal like a soldier and walked into retirement in disgrace.

The total lack of integrity and decency shown by Nixon, Kissinger, and others in this matter is a national disgrace. If Kissinger had a ounce of integrity, he would have resigned. It is hardly news that “Tricky Dick” lacked honesty. However, to destroy the career of such a man reaches a new low in my view.

The entire Lavelle family deserve this change and an apology from an ashamed nation.

  1. Are you saying I need a handler, when did you first notice the obvious?

  2. I thought it was fools rush in where angles fear to tread….hmm now you’re telling me its different?

  3. … I don’t think you should be allowed to give an acceptance speech without a keeper standing close by ….

  4. Well who in the hell do you think rushes to the hall with the antidote just in time to save the green guy and assists in the arrest? An elf, of course … good god, you Hollywood types are such babies …

  5. But don’t you need a tall, well sorta tall elf? I have seen others in that role and I would fee discriminated against if I was not at least given an audition….Geeze Blouise…..

  6. … I think, when the novel is optioned by Mike Nichols, that I’ll request Buddha in the starring male lead … the poly green guy skulking through the White House corridors battling hordes of Brown Recluses sent by Cheney … I see Oscars for everyone!

  7. The War on Terror … one of Bush’s favorite phrases.

Well we’ve had a War on Poverty, a War on Drugs, and several other such wars but in this particular War on … Bush sent in the troops.

In my opinion, wholly unresearched and thus backed with absolutely no provable facts … The War on Terror was really The War on Iraq secretly requested by the Saudi family and fully preplanned by a president wannabe long before his nomination. Turn a blind eye and a deaf ear to any “chatter” going on and viola … the pluperfect excuse to declare a War on Terror and move quickly into Iraq. (The original WMD scam (pre 9/11 gift) was used to go from Afghanistan to Iraq)

There you have it … the plot for my new fiction thriller novel entitled … “Traitors in the White House” Sub plots to be developed as the novel is written …..

What would sending Bush and Cheney do? Congress could have cut off the money after the prescribed time had passed. There was an election in 2002 as well, seems to me the American people pretty much have gotten what they deserve – a protracted war with no end in sight based on some ambiguous notion of giving democracy to illiterate barbarians who live in some 7th century dreamland of Jin and magic carpets. Given to us by a 1st century believer in angels and demons.

Does an angel trump a Jin?

There ya go … picture Bush and Cheney with wings attempting to shoot down flying carpets … considering how much actual time either of those gentlemen spent on the field of battle … that’s probably exactly what they thought it would be.

  10. Bob,Esq.: My apologies. I read your comment, but didn’t check out the link until after I had posted mine.

  11. Blouise wrote, “I vote for sending the entire Bush and Cheney families …” I second her vote.

The following link is a Vincent Bugliosi video about his book “The Prosecution of George W. Bush for Murder”:

  12. Obomers war … that’s funny … I vote for sending the entire Bush and Cheney families … that would make Obombers war a lot funnier

  13. Nixon: ick.
Kissinger: uber ick. (Council on Foreign Relations with Biden)

It seems this is the only kind of military “victory” we have to go on these days. Oh, we had another military victory lately. The Army is going with new uniforms for Afghanistan. What next? Feng Shui in the barracks?

Are we at war? Where is the declaration? I’ve seen to have misplaced my copy of it.

If it isn’t a war what are 100,000 or so SOLDIERS doing there?

Where are all the Democrats lining up recruiting offices? Maybe someone needs to tell them where they are located?

I’m for legislation that allows anyone who supports the war in Afghanistan, of any age or of any condition (as long as they can sit up and take nourishment) to be put on the “battle field” in this “war” which is not a “war”. Start with Rahm Emanuel.

Send them all to fight OBOMERS war!

  14. “Yes its true that LBJ did profit during the Vietnam conflict. In more ways than one…His wife’s family owned Hailburton. Am I surprised that Brown and Root (at the time) a wholly owned subsidiary of Haliburton was awarded the contracts to build bridges in Vietnam, in no way am I surprised. Are you surprised that Mattel made the Stock for the M-16? I am not either once you find out that in the presidential Blind Trust they owned Mattel stock.”

Why are these people allowed and able to recreate the same kind of murder, mayhem and self-enrichment on such a grand scale…over and over again? Am I the only 1 who hasn’t connected the dots? ‘Cause now that even I know, shouldn’t it all stop?

  15. ID,

No the Turd Blossoms grown really psychoanalytic mushrooms. They ate the Blossoms and left enough around for a life time of use by the presidents…..can’t you see it….its all becoming rather clear now….

  16. TraderB,

There is something that we can agree upon. And this is Nixon was a Thief and LBJ was a Thief. I think it depends upon the degree of theft and who its stolen from that makes it a difference.

I will say that Vince Foster appearing dead outside of a monument in DC does not surprise me. People playing Midnight golf in the mid 60’s and getting shot at the ninth hole is not amazing to me either. Did LBJ have anything to do with it? I wasn’t there, but I have heard….

Yes its true that LBJ did profit during the Vietnam conflict. I am not either once you find out that in the presidential Blind Trust they owned Mattel stock.

Now what Nixon did was more egregious. He lied on national television and was caught. The difference between Nixon and LBJ, well you end up dead playing golf at midnight. That’s dangerous….

There are two types of people in the world and they both bring you happiness. Some when they come and some when they go….
