Itsy, Bitsy, Teenie, Weenie Felony: English Woman Arrested for Wearing Bikini in Dubai Mall

A British woman was arrested and charged with indecency in Dubai. Her crime: walking through the Dubai Mall in her swimsuit.

While the charges were later reportedly dropped, the arrest is the latest confrontation between Westerners and Dubai’s Sharia standards, ranging from a married couple in a car to an Englishman on the street to a texting couple to a kissing couple to a hotel couple.

Accounts say that the woman began with only a revealing top and she was approached by a local woman who was part of an Islamic group that passed out warnings to women who were insufficiently covered. The English woman did not take well to being told to cover up so stripped down to her bikini. Her defense could have been that she was on her way to the Burkini store at the mall.

The arrest probably sent the needed message to create bikiniphobia for future women:

She was afraid to come out of the locker
She was as nervous as she could be
She was afraid to come out of the locker
She was afraid that somebody would see
Two, three, four, tell the people what she wore

It was an itsy, bitsy, teenie, weenie, yellow polka-dot bikini
That she wore for the first time today
An itsy, bitsy, teentie, weenie, yellow polka-dot bikini
So in the locker she wanted to stay
Two, three, four, stick around we’ll tell you more

She was afraid to come out in the open
And so a blanket around she wore
She was afraid to come out in the open
And so she sat bundled up on the shore
Two, three, four, tell the people what she wore

It was an itsy, bitsy, teenie, weenie, yellow polka-dot bikini
That she wore for the first time today
An itsy, bitsy, teentie, weenie, yellow polka-dot bikini
So in the blanket she wanted to stay
Two, three, four, stick around we’ll tell you more

Now she’s afraid to come out of the water
And I wonder what she’s gonna do
Now she’s afraid to come out of the water
And the poor little girl’s turning blue
Two, three, four, tell the people what she wore

It was an itsy, bitsy, teenie, weenie, yellow polka-dot bikini
That she wore for the first time today
An itsy, bitsy, teentie, weenie, yellow polka-dot bikini
So in the water she wanted to stay
(From the locker to the blanket)
(From the blanket to the shore)
(From the shore to the water)
Yes, there isn’t any more

  1. Islamic Law discourages sexual beauty/reproductive fitness and leads to the production of embittered genetic degenerates, who join the religious police and harass attractive females in Islamic nations. This is one such example.

  2. I have to agree with most here – when visiting a foreign country, it is always wise to have a working knowledge of said country’s laws and customs. It’s called “respect.”

The woman, by getting her knickers in a twist, proved herself to be the disrespectful nitwit she most likely is.

  3. This sort of thing is exactly why I’m endlessly surprised by the the idea of Dubai as a tourism destination, particularly marketing themselves to mainstream UK tourists. Their idea of a “holiday” is to wander around in swimwear, get severely sunburned and drink a lot. 2 out of 3 are really bad fits for Emirati culture.

Cathedrals in Italy won’t admit men wearing shorts, and that’s fine. If you want to visit someone else’s country, you play by their rules.

  4. Ummmmm…..it’s DUBAI !

Did she not know that when she went there ?

Maybe next time she will find out where she is going ,maybe read the travel magazine or brochure.

Everyone knows you can’t run around half naked in a strict Islamic society – I guess someone might have told her that before they went.
That said, what on Earth would posses one to go there?
No bikini’s , no drinking, no anything – although I don’t think they beat you publicly for chewing gum it is basically another horrid SingSingapore style hell hole for the ultra rich.

  5. I think I’m with Kaz. She could have been asked to leave an AMERICAN mall if she chose to wander it in a bikini. And she was given a fair warning, could have been respectful, instead decided to get defiant about it.

Possible mitigating factors: just how revealing the top was, just how politely or rudely the warning was delivered.

  6. Much as I want to think that the woman should be allowed to wear whatever she likes, I think that it is her responsibilty as a visitor to that country to comply with the laws and customs of that country.
And the fact that she got stroppy when told to cover up just makes her look like a arse

  7. Buddha,

It should be rewritten to state you have a “Hole” country…

  8. The preceding message sponsored by the Dubai Bureau of Tourism.

  9. Dubai! It’s not for infidels!

    Or perhaps in positive language,

    Dubai Is For Zealots.

    Maybe

Dubai! Where Ponzi and Theocracy Meet!

    Or more practical yet,

    Dubai – Why bother?

    Or to the point,

Visit Dubai! A proctologist can only examine so many patients and we’ve got a whole city!
