Criminal defense attorneys often challenge the showing of probable cause used as the basis for search warrants. That is the argument of a Spokane, Washington man who was given a search warrant for his rectum simply because police officers said that he seemed to be tightening his cheeks and refused a rectal exam.
The 31-year-old man was confronted by police over whether he was flexing and refused to cooperate with an exam. The police proceeded to secure a rectal warrant only to find that he . . . well . . . had natural “buns of steel.”
The exam occurred at Providence Sacred Heart Medical Center but doctors found nothing.
Officer Brian Eckerlsey, spokesman for the Spokane Police Department, insists that the jailer thought he had something “But for whatever reason, it didn’t come out.”
