A Bachmann Concerto

Step into my time machine. I’ll take you back to March of 2009 when Republican Congresswoman Michele Bachmann of Minnesota said the following:

“I want people in Minnesota armed and dangerous on this issue of the energy tax because we need to fight back. Thomas Jefferson told us, having a revolution every now and then is a good thing, and the people — we the people — are going to have to fight back hard if we’re not going to lose our country. And I think this has the potential of changing the dynamic of freedom forever in the United States.”

Now I’ll reset the time machine to October of 2008 when Bachmann told Chris Matthews in an interview that she’d like the media to investigate the “anti-American” activities of members of Congress. “I think people would love to see an exposé like that,” she claimed.

Come, let’s return to the present. This week, Ms. Bachmann announced that she plans to run for the chairmanship of the House Republican Conference—and that she wants to start a “Constitutional Conservative Caucus” to “stop any bill from passing” that she deems unconstitutional, such as “a stimulus or a government takeover of health care.”

Oh my aching head! I can only begin to imagine some of the bills this woman will consider to be unconstitutional. Anyone got some extra-strength Excedrin?

I’ll leave you with a poem I wrote about Bachmann back in March of 2009:

Michelle Bachman: Armed and Dangerous

By Elaine Magliaro

She’s wild-eyed and packin’ heat—

One congressgal who’s not so sweet.

She isn’t your typical Minnesotan.

She’s militant…warlike—and totin’

A derringer in her Gucci bag…

A Smith and Wesson—40 mag,

A semi-automatic Colt.

She thinks it’s time for an armed revolt.

She’s out inciting insurrection!

(How did this crank win re-election?????)

She says she’s ready for a revolution!

I say she’s ready for an institution—

An asylum for the politically inane

With padded cells. This gal’s insane!

She’s crazy. She’s possessed. She’s mad!

There’s one last thing I’ll like to add:

She needs a good psychiatrist—

Or, better still, an exorcist!

“Poor Bachmann, always a bridesmaid … never the bride”

Why does “Bride of Frankenstein” spring to mind…

  2. An Update on Michele Bachmann:

    From Huffington Post (11/4/2010)
Michele Bachmann’s Leadership Bid Gets Cool Reaction
    http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2010/11/04/michele-bachmanns-leaders_n_779290.html

    Excerpt:
WASHINGTON — Self-proclaimed tea party leader Michele Bachmann’s bid for a top Republican post in the House received a cool reaction Thursday from Speaker-to-be John Boehner, an early test of how GOP leaders will treat the antiestablishment movement’s winners in Tuesday’s elections.

“Constitutional conservatives deserve a loud and clear voice in leadership!” Bachmann, R-Minn., who founded the Tea Party Caucus, said in a one-paragraph Facebook announcement that she is running for GOP conference chairman.

House Republican leaders don’t disagree. But that doesn’t mean they want the hyperbolic Bachmann being a spokeswoman for the new majority during the 2012 election cycle.

Boehner, aware of the role tea partiers played in making him the next House speaker, is endorsing no one. His lieutenants are lining up behind Rep. Jeb Hensarling of Texas, leaving no doubt that Hensarling – and not Bachmann – is the leadership favorite to chair the GOP conference.

“There are few who have done as much for the Republican team as Jeb,” the expected House majority leader, Eric Cantor of Virginia, said in a statement.

Departing conference chairman Mike Pence of Indiana also endorsed Hensarling, calling him “one of the most principled conservatives in Congress.”

  3. Elaine,

That’s funny because I’ve always found outspoken intelligent women another kind of magnet altogether. Maybe it’s my steely nature.

Ahhh, the joys and perils of polarity.

  4. Duke Blue,

“As for who has been running around attacking people the most, the answer is as it has been since the 1960′s, the “Liberal Nazis” like yourself that have always used outrageous acts of violence to force your wishes and disturbed beliefs upon others.”

    **********

I have never committed an act of violence in my life–unless you consider crushing bugs underfoot to be a manifestation of the evil that lurks in the being of a Leftwing Liberal Neo-Marxist Nazi like myself.

    Have a nice day!
    😉

  5. Elaine Looks like Bachman has a lot of defenders out there or these people just simply want to attack you.

  6. DukeBlue,

Can you point out what I wrote in my post about Bachmann that provides proof of my being ill-informed? Much of my post is composed of Bachmann’s own words and includes a video of part of an interview she did with Chris Matthews.

  7. Duke,

You do know that Nazi is a word that describes a specific movement in a specific point in history with a specific set of beliefs?

Just checking, because I think you’re getting it and the phrase “someone I disagree with” confused. Don’t worry it happens all the time.

Here’s a little rule of thumb: Unless the person you’re talking about is part of a fascist movement in Germany between WWI and the end WWII, you’re probably not talking about a Nazi.

That being said, good job on avoiding both a Thesaurus and a dictionary for that little rant, and remember: The person that yells the loudest wins.

It’s disturbing to listen to such an ill informed Neo-Marxist like yourself trying to sound informed, much less Educated.
You my dear are an Imbecilic Moron.

As for who has been running around attacking people the most, the answer is as it has been since the 1960’s, the “Liberal Nazis” like yourself that have always used outrageous acts of violence to force your wishes and disturbed beliefs upon others.

I think biting off someones finger, shooting up someones house, attacking someone while shouting racist slurs, gang attacking an elderly citizen, attacking a disabled wheelchair bound protester, just to name a few; far exceeds a whacked out leftwing freak from move-on disguised in a blond wig rushing and illegally assaulting a political candidate. Now you want to whine because, as a result of her own criminal behavior somehow her poor little ignorant head was stepped on as a result, is somehow more outrageous than her criminal actions is moronic. She should be thanking Rand Paul for not having her arrested, and thrown in jail, which is precisely where she belongs.

If she had rushed Obama like that, she would have been a bullet riddled pile of human flesh, and those like yourself would be claiming she got just what she deserved.

This go around, I only hope we do not make the same mistake we made after defeating the Nazis in the past. This time we need to make sure each and every one is exterminated, government and civilian.

If you would like to see hundreds more go to youtube, the Leftwing Liberal Nazi gutter muck pseudo journalistic propaganda Media, will never show the truth. Don’t be to surprised when you see just how outrageously violent the Left Wing Nazi Movement is,which is easily a 10 to 1 ratio compared to the Right Wing. I personally can’t stomach either, but when I see a Leftwing Nut-job like yourself wagging your finger, it’s just too sickening to tolerate.

  9. puzzling,

I’m in complete agreement with you about ending all wars. I’d like to see our military empire wound down across the globe too. I’d also like to see less political partisanship.
