Construction worker and Brooklyn native Andy Sullivan is one of the most vocal opponents of Park51, the mosque and cultural center near ground zero. Sullivan has appeared on the Fox Business channel touting his efforts to enlist other construction workers to sign a petition that states they won’t work on the Park51 site. Now, Sullivan has set his sights on Justin Bieber, the Canadian pop sensation. Sullivan is encouraging a boycott of all things Bieber.
Sullivan cites a Bieber interview from Tiger Beat.
In the interview, Bieber reportedly said:
Muslims should be allowed to build a mosque anywhere they want. Coming from Canada, I’m not used to this level of intolerance, eh. I was like seven when September 11th went down, and frankly I’m surprised people are still going on about it. Move on, already!
Bieber went on to say that Muslims are “super cool,” Christians are “lame-o-rama.”
The Bieber story has gone viral. There’s just one teensy problem. The interview was a hoax. It’s from CelebJihad.com, a satirical website á la The Onion. Oops!

Sullivan actually apologized for being quick to assume that Justin Bieber had supported what is a good and legal development. Interesting. He can admit to being wrong about Bieber statements, but not about the trumped up nonsense that he spreads about the devleopment itself.

Leading mosque foe Andy Sullivan, who signed onto the boycott after being taken in by a hoax report that Bieber had spoken out in support of Park51, has now apologized to Bieber, his fans, and his family.
One wonders how many of Beibers’ 13 year old female fans Sullivan will influence. Though one need not wonder for very long.
Andy Sullivan should just get a life and actually remember the religious tolerance that our country was establshied under. Andy probably thinks this is a Christian nation too. He would be wrong, but going on his premise, WWJD with the Muslim community center?
