Here is a tip for other Hollywood actors. If you want to sue a studio over breach of contract, do not go to the roof of a building with a large machete and scream “I’m free at last.” As always, my thoughts go to his lawyer . . .
That was the latest scene in the sage of Charlie Sheen after he was fired by Warner Bros. from the show “Two and a Half Men.” While watching this video, I could not help but think of this guy’s lawyer sitting in his office preparing a breach of contract claim when his client suddenly comes on television waving around a machete and talking about slitting the throats of the defendants. Ironically, absent of morality clause, Sheen had a case for breach. However, the key is to argue that you really did not want to be fired. Sheen was able to keep this line up to his suspension — stating that he was ready to go back to work.
I will not get into the report that Sheen was drinking from a bottle of “Tiger Blood.” I expect that came with the machete.

AY,
“But he was a money maker”
Exactly. Money talks and bullsh*t walks …
I tried to watch Sheen’s webcast show but man its hard to watch anyone go to pieces the way Charlie seems to be headed …. Whether you like him or not, it has to be a very sad thing to see.
Charlie Sheen has a life threatening illness, and he refuses to take treatment for it.
Elaine,
Remember… Friends Don’t Let Friends Vote Republican……and Then…. This is Your Brain….This is your brain if you Vote Republican…..
SL,
I think CBS has written in to all contracts Moral Turpitude…Now exactly what that means in this case is not clear… If they were going to raise the issue it should have been at first blush years ago….But he was a money maker…. Hence, I believe that that issue is waived in acquisence (Think thats how to spell it)…..
Elaine,
It is true that some folks can be irrevocably impaired… by any substance regardless of its nature….. Alcohol and Coke work on the CNS and most of the time they can return to normal…. but it takes time and a willingness to go through the grudge monkey channel….detoxing naturally….. it has been stated that it takes about one month of complete abstinence (of any substance) for each year of abuse…. While the alcohol/drugs maybe legally out of your system medically the body is still repairing itself…
Remember this commercial?
Elaine and Stamford,
It is sad. I do hope he is able to get some help before the implosion occurs.
Mike S.,
Hasn’t Sheen’s addiction to drugs and alcohol been a contributing factor to his disorder? Drugs and alcohol can do damage to one’s brain, can’t they?
Mike Spindell:
“Do we so quickly forget last years deification of a self-loathing, drug addicted,
pedophile?”
Which one? Are we talking the arts or politics?
Sheen is indeed crazy (clinical term to me is Narcissistic Personality disorder) but in our celebrity obsessed, wacky country today, I wouldn’t be so sure of his imminent death. If so though he will have the advantage of becoming iconic. Do we so quickly forget last years deification of a self-loathing, drug addicted,
pedophile?
AY,
I hope I’m wrong but Sheen is a train wreck waiting to happen.
Is it known if there is a morality clause in his contract?
Elaine M.,
“rafflaw,
The press/media keep egging Sheen on. That’s sad. I do think the man is ready to implode. It really isn’t a funny story, is it?”
It’s like watching the guy on the ledge of the building and screaming for him to jump.
Very sad.
Elaine M.,
Unfortunately….some people have joyful times at others misfortunes….. The line in Vegas is to OD by the end of the year….. if you get the date right you could make a real killing…(no pun intended)
SWM,
That is…. well… that just is…..
SL,
I may be wrong but you may be right… He may be dead or stroked….(No pun intended) but this would be a personal claim which would survive an incapacity such as death… and believe it or not….it would be incumbent upon the executor/ executrix.. Personal Rep to bring the action or maintain it if it is filed…… not that I know anything about estate law….
rafflaw,
The press/media keep egging Sheen on. That’s sad. I do think the man is ready to implode. It really isn’t a funny story, is it?
Stamford,
Sadly, you are probably correct.
I suspect Sheen will be six feet under before a breach of contract suit ever reaches the courts.
I really think Sheen needs a medical intervention. He is going to implode very soon. He is out of control and the attorney better get his retainer up front.
A Disaster without a tornado……. He should have never tried to detox and clean up at home or with access to a telephone or in his case….a computer…. the only thing that has changed is he may have ceased substances….. ceasing them does not change the behavior or mind set….
Well, so long as he has money…I am sure that he will have an attorney….when that runs out he will have neither….
