The disturbing video below shows a women being beaten by two other women as McDonald employees do virtually nothing to help her. While a manager makes a minimal effort to stop the fight, he then walks away and does not offer help to the woman on the ground. The girls then return and resume the beating. Other employees are shown doing nothing but watching the scene. The attack occurred in Baltimore, Maryland. The victim has now been identified as Chrissy Lee Polis, 22, who has been identified as a transgender woman. A manager at the Rosedale McDonald’s said she was “not allowed to speak to a reporter.”
According to reports, a 14-year-old female has been charged as a juvenile while charges are pending against an 18-year-old female.
The question is the liability of McDonald’s for this type of passivity. Companies often tell employees not to get involved in fights but simply call police. However, here the McDonald’s employees are not even showing any interest in helping the woman when the fight stopped. Liability, however, will remain a difficult course if the manager called the police –which is viewed as the minimally required response. However, this is not a case of any affirmative duty to rescue — where the American rule is that no such duty exists absent responsibility for the original danger or injury. This woman is a business invitee and the company bears responsibility for the safe conditions for customers. McDonald’s must also anticipate criminal acts. However, no law requires a manager to physically intervene. What is most disturbing is the absence of anyone rendering aid to this woman.
The fact is that this manager may be doing exactly what McDonald’s wants employees to do: nothing. It will be interesting to see if McDonald’s instructs managers not to render aid in in such circumstances.
The manager encourages the attackers to flee before the police arrive. He can certainly defend this advice as simply a way to remove the dangerous individuals from the scene. However, it would have been more convincing if it was combined with a modicum of concern for the victim.
McDonald’s seems a common site for violence, including additional stories this week. One has to wonder how long the employee, identified as Vernon Hackett, on social network accounts, posted the video clip to his YouTube page earlier who took and posted the video has as an employee with the Golden Arches.
There is no word on what is being done to find the culprits. There have also been suggestions that the attack was racially motivated. The incident involved two young black women repeatedly attacking an older white woman.
McDonald’s released the following statement:
“We are shocked by the video from a Baltimore franchised restaurant showing an assault. This incident is unacceptable, disturbing and troubling. McDonald’s strives to be a safe, welcoming environment for everyone who visits. Nothing is more important to us than the safety of customers and employees in our restaurants. We are working with the franchisee and the local authorities to investigate this matter.”
Notably, the company made no mention of the failure to help the patron or what its policy or training says about addressing such incidents.
I do find it interesting that this video comes from WorldStarHipHop.com. I’m a criminal defense attorney and I see plenty of racist behavior directed towards my black clients by the government everyday. Having said that, there is definately a growing culture, which is dominated by black people, which truley celebrates criminal behavior. While Lindsey Lohan may loose her career because of drug use and shop-lifting, “artists” like Lil’ Wayne, Lil’Kim, Tupac (albeit posthumously)are more money because of not inspite of their criminal behavior.
What is perhaps even sicker is the major corporations that are cashing in and marketing this life style. I have to think that if this video had been a bunch of white people standing around watching a black person getting beat by white people we might be seeing this on CNN instead of WorldStarHipHop.com

You are right that trash comes in all sizes and colors, but that is one of the worst videos I have ever seen. As Buddha hinted at, doesn’t Macs owe a duty to keep customers safe in their facilities? At the very least the employees and manager owe that girl a duty to stop the fight and protect her from further harm, in my opinion.
I have forgotten who said it earlier, but there is no reason or excuse for a 2 on one beating that kept going on and on. I would think that Macs has some explaining to do. Finally, with that video, why can’t the police catch these animals?

This video shows the importance of (lawfully) carrying a gun, pepper spray, taser and being trained in martial arts.
So that when being courteous and trying to defuse a situation fails, you can defend yourself to the fullest extent of the law. “Yes… there was an imminent threat of severe bodily harm or death…I had to defend myself.”
Most people are good, and not gutter trash like the skanks in this video. But occasionally in the course of life you are bound to run into scum who pose a threat to your safety and life. It is in those instances when one must defend oneself with the most effective lawful tools available because the police won’t help you until it’s too late.
Someone ought to take those two cows out to the dumpster and put a bullet into each one. Ten to one that neither of them is employed. People who work, or who grow up in an environment where work and self-responsibility is acknowledged, are less likely to behave like this. Yet another example of how the welfare state is destroying our country.

1) I’d hope you weren’t including me in your “ignorant racists” comment simply because I think cases like these demonstrate how arbitrary hate crime laws are and call people out on all sides for racial comments.
2) It’s a popular blog. Probably comes up quicker in searches than some 4 person one.
3) Problem with legal liability is that these days some lawyer would sue on the behalf of the girls if they were hurt when someone tackled them.
4) 50 years ago a fight would end when someone dropped. Ganging up on someone would get you an a$s-kicking in return. Society has imploded and there is no accountability for any action any more.
I don’t give a damn what the context was. There is no context that excuses that behavior.

I probably should not give this the dignity of a response, but let me say a few things. First, Black people are not at war with white people and if they were, there is a long history for that.
Second, there are numerous instances in which people despite their race are being attacked and no one stepped in to help. I experienced that myself when at 15 I was getting my head kicked in by a bully. The bully was black and the people standing around watching me get my head kicked in (teens and adults) were black. How many times have white people done the same.
Third, as I stated previously, there is no context here. What happened here is horrible. But the facts are skewed. What we know is the girl was given an awful beat down and no one in that store was prepared to take control of the situation. What led to the beat down is unknown. Did these girls just single her out because she was white? Did the girl say something to provoke the attack? What relationship, if any, did this girl have with her attackers? Is there indeed a hate crime here?
Fourth, I find that most people making generalized statements about Black people or any other racial or ethnic group have had little or no intimate dealings with those groups or know very little about those groups. Black people are not a monolith. Go look that word up if you do not know what it means. And if white people are edgy that they are now being targeted because of their race, perhaps that is a good thing. Now perhaps instead of sitting idly by and reaping the benefits of racism, more would really become involved in truly eradicating it rather than engaging in mere liberal anti-racist rhetoric.
Politically incorrect or not, black on white crime is far, far more prevalent than the reverse. As such I ask. If any group is being victimized, isn’t it the whites? Brings me back to the good old hate crime laws.
Did these girls beat the woman out of love? If not, there is race involved. Why not a hate crime?
I also know it goes against media sensibilities but why report a noose at a college that turned out to be done by the “victim” but not the Christian-Newsom murders? Because people are too scared to talk about race and use the ever so successful tactic of ignoring it.
I’m not saying there is a need to go revolution like mts but ignoring the facts does little to address the issues and Holder’s justice department does nothing but foster the resentment people like mts hold.
Let’s be honest. If this were in Mississippi and two white guys had beaten a black guy and the white employees told them to flee, Sharpton would be picketing McDonalds as we speak (cough, Jena 6, cough, cough).

On Saturday, January 6, 2007, White Channon Christian, 21, and White Christopher Newsom, 23, of Knoxville, Tennessee, went out on a date. Outside the home of friends, they were carjacked and kidnapped. For the next twenty-four hours, their three Black male captors and the female sister of one of the assailants beat and tortured the two young White victims. In addition, they gang-raped Mr. Newsom, and gang-raped Miss Christian. The Blacks then cut off the White man’s penis while he was still alive, forcing his girlfriend to watch. They also urinated on the young woman, made her drink cleaning fluid, and either strangled or suffocated her to death.

The Broward Sheriff’s Office released a sketch of Carley’s attacker. He is described as a man of slim-to-medium build, around 5-foot-9, with dreadlocks or braids.
Black charged with murder in shotgun beating death of White man
Murder charges were filed against a Terre Haute man. Police said Raymond Hamilton was beat with a shotgun and died five days later. Anton Grant was formally charged with battery by means of a deadly weapon, Then, just two hours later, Grant was officially charged with murder.
