This charming couple is Barbara Lee, 45, and Marco Ibanez, 19. They are accused of killing Alfred Stewart, 31, (shown below) and attacking his friends after Lee mistook their sign language for gang signs. Stewart and his friends are deaf and now he is dead.
Stewart was having drinks with his friends at Ocean’s Eleven Lounge in Hallendale Beach, Florida when Lee saw them exchanging signs. Lee is allegedly a member of a gang and left to bring back Ibanez and a 17-year-old alleged gang member. Ibanez stabbed Stewart and his friends.
All three alleged gang members are charged with aggravated battery.
The gang problem in the country is reaching a crisis point. We have MS-13 in our area of Northern Virginia and new ruthless Mexican gangs have taken hold along the border. We have a growing war in this country as Obama and Congress continue to look for wars like Libya to spend lives and treasure abroad.

Blouise,
Gee Thanks but not this week… OK?
LOL
I was going to scare you really bad, and say
Yes, send me a few…
I’m a priest at St. John’s….
But then, you know Blouise I thought better of it.
I have a terrible sense of humor… Wicked sometimes.
Borderline crazy..
Just for the absolute record… I am not a catholic priest, never have been never will be….
Bud,
If you want some I’m sure we can find you a few … π
Bud,
Yes – it can be quite an expense! Some of the after school activity center’s in my community base their fees on a sliding scale, depending upon the parents income.
There is also financial aid provided by the city to help those who truly cannot afford before or after school programs. Being in between NYC and Bridgeport, CT, Stamford did have issues with gang violence a few years back. We could very well have been much worse but with the implementation of these programs (by the current governor, my mayor for 14 years), we’ve managed to divert disaster in this respect. Don’t get me wrong, we still have issues but not nearly as bad as it could have been.
And, I wholeheartedly agree with you in terms of the costs and benefits for and by society. Spending now makes for big returns later …
Lol – Yeah, I kinda got that …
