Talk about an attractive nuisance. This week a currency truck spilled Canadian “loonies and toonies” all over a highway. The accident then caused a candy truck to crash and spill candy on top of the money. I can just picture two Canadian guys saying “Give it a second, eh, there has got to be a Moosehead Beer truck coming along.”
I am about to head to Canada and I clearly missed this opportunity. They are using an industrial magnet to pick up the coins. The candy company will presumably clean up the candy by busing in thousands of elementary school students.
Notably, Const. Marc Depatie of the South Porcupine OPP said “There have been very few people that have come by … to perhaps pilfer or take advantage of the situation.” Probably, because most people are assuming that this has to be a trick.
I have only been able to find one scene similar to this one:

Must of been those $100.000 dollar candy bars. I haven’t seen them in the states lately!
Those Canadians are getting downright devious in their tricks! Who can resist a combination of money and candy…it’s foolproof.
Welcome back, ec. It is nice to see your lovely pink tresses grace the comments again.
Hi guys, I’ve been around, just too busy to follow comments very closely. Nice to see you again too!

Anon nurse, Thanks for the link. KO has a reputation of being volatile but I wonder about him lately. I think his fathers death (13 months after his mother died) affected him profoundly. A long, serious illness that ends badly for a loved one could have left him damaged in ways we can’t even imagine. He’s still doing ‘Friday nights with Thurber’. I’m not sure that’s a good sign. I wish him well.
And his dissatisfaction with production values at Current TV is not displaced either 🙂
Empirecookie,
Where oh were have you been…. I hope you decide to stick around…..
