Good Morning, Campers

With the rest of the family still sleeping here in the beautiful mountains of Vermont, I had to post this Buddha-like bowser in what appears his morning meditation.

I expect he is contemplating that eternal canine question: if a cat has nine lives, can a dog be fulfilled eating it each time he catches it — or only on the ninth time?

  1. You know, my beagle does the exact same pose. Somehow it’s less medatative and more… prairie-dogive

  2. We have entered the photo in the Dog of the Week contest here at the marina. We dont censor so the whole nine yards gets posted. The dog pack says that he is welcome if he ever migrates this way. We need his name. He dont look like a Bhudda or a Bowser. If we dont hear back we might name him Jonboy.

Naw, he just wants a doggie treat or bit from your breakfast plate.

  4. I’ll admit there is a family resemblance, but I still think the dog is cuter. How about we split the difference and I’ll stipulate he looks like a Churchill?

    Looks like Churchill.

    He does! 🙂

  6. He’s much cuter than Churchill, mespo, and he looks like he knows the price without any haggling. I suspect it involves a dog biscuit.

  7. Faced with an early morning photo, without the chance to “wake up”, he’s saying, “The indignity of it all… and I’ll probably end up as the poster dog on some blog today.”

    Adorable. (Whose legs?)

  8. Happy Buddha on a Good Friday…… Seems like a logical segue…. Gandhi would be most pleased I am sure….

  9. Or perhaps, “If a cat has 9 lives, why am I sitting on this leopard skin?”
