When Loyalty Met Wisdom

By Mark Esposito, Guest Blogger

Lambs may not be laying down with wolves just yet as the Good Book predicts but a wonderful story out of North Wales might be the precursor. Seems canine, Merlin, has teamed up with barn owl, Willow, to become inseparable friends. The two met when the owl’s daily exercise overlapped Merlin’s walk at the Peny Bryn Falconry centre in North Wales.

“They are inseparable. People always stop and smile when they see them going by,” said Lorwi Peacock, Willow’s handler. Willow’s favorite activity is stretching out her wings as Merlin goes for a run. No grousing  so far from Merlin about the extra drag.

  1. Nice blog here! Additionally your website so much up fast! What web host are you the use of? Can I get your affiliate hyperlink for your host? I wish my site loaded up as fast as yours lol

  2. Here comes depression riding:

And we will destroy all this for the sake of cars and billionaires and whateve the current status item is..

A shame we can’t “can” your fine feelings and transmit them into space. And enjoy them undiluted when years pass.

  3. As a kid I had a standard size black poodle, a black cat and a blue parakeet. Every night the dog would curl up at the end of my bed; the cat would snuggle in between his two front paws, and the bird would perch on his head. We slept that way through the night. Occasionally the dog would lift up his head and growl at some noise he’d heard. The cat would stand up and arch his back and the bird would fly a circle around the room. Then everybody would settle back down and go back to sleep.

    I thought it was normal.

I guess to an untrained eye and a quick glance at this,it would probably seem as if the Owl is trying to take off with the Wolfhound in tow LOL!!.

  5. I have to keep the red tailed hawks away from the dogs. One is so small she could be carried away. They love to play with cats though. See owls every once in a while.

  6. That dog has one tough back. He has one smart friend who can guide him throught the night. He has a winged future. Two part harmony.
