It is not clear which actress Amanda Bynes is in greater need of: basic driving or constitutional law lessons. After being arrested for drunk driving, Bynes took to Twitter to ask that President Barack Obama “fire the cop who arrested me.” While Obama may be willing to break away from an emerging civil war in Syria and a worsening economy to address the pressing problems of the starlet, he may find it difficult to fire the officer who is a state employee. However, according to the Justice Department, he does have the ability to declare the officer a threat to the nation and have him summarily executed. After all, if arresting a starlet is not an act of terrorism in our celebrity-driven society, I do not know what is.
Bynes was charged around 3 a.m. in April by an L.A. County deputy after her black BMW allegedly hit the rear corner of the sheriff’s vehicle — she then refused a sobriety test. The 26-year-old actress decided to go straight to the Commander-in-Chief: “Hey @BarackObama… I don’t drink . . lease fire the cop who arrested me. I also don’t hit and run. The end.”
Bynes emerged as a star in the Nickelodeon show “All That,” and later movies.
Bynes has had a series of traffic incidents. However, this appears the first time that she has called in the President to act on her behalf.
If I were this officer, I would look out for any drones spotted in the Los Angeles area for the next few weeks.

Um, is this some sort of joke? What kind of drugs is she on?
put biden on it, he needs something to do
Who on earth is this person and why is this newsworthy? She surely is not getting by on her looks if the photo accompanying is any indication. And, Not even PRESIDENT Obama.
“What lottakatz said! This so-called actress needs to feel the rule of law, first hand.”
Agree wholeheartedly!

Somewhere in the Professor Turley’s article, the words “suspicion of” should have occurred. If not just a simple typographical oversight, then the need for lessons in constitutional law would appear as urgent among current and former professors of constitutional law as among young woman “celebrities.” When mere accusation becomes equivalent to guilt, then we have definitely entered the Wonderland realm of “sentence first, verdict later.”.

She’s obviously confused the name of her TV show with her self image- no dear, you’re not really ‘all that’. 🙂
Shano’s link was really incredible.
MerryMarjie said, “Her use of ‘lease’ instead of ‘least’ in her Tweet sounds like drunk texting.”
I thought she missed the “P” of “Please fire him.”
Another human being suffering from “The Trump” syndrome. LOOK AT ME LOOKATMELOOKATMELOOKATME…..
Not meaning to go ad hominem, but…
She ought to be arrested for awful cosmetics in that picture! Good grief
At least they didn’t club her, then throw her over the guard rail, and then taser her to death.
Like this architect in Baltimore, 52 officers needed to take down one diabetic man!

Several years ago I saw an great example of our “celebrity-driven society”. I was watching MSNBC for background noise as I did house duties. There was an an alert and went to a happening now news cast as the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff had resigned. Right after they announced the resignation there was another alert sound and a more important storry interrupted the one about the resignation. A helicopter shot of a sherriffs car driving along Beverly Hills or LA streets. The sherriff was on his way to arrest Paris Hilton at her home. There was maybe 15 mins or more of the sherriff driving along during which there was the repetitive story about his drive to pick her up as agreed by her lawyer and the sherriffs dept (maybe police dept) Finally he arrives and another 15 mins or so of the helicopter circling and more voice over of the important story and actual clips replaying the sherriffs drive to Hilton’s house She finally leaves the house and gets into the sherriffs car but the helicopter did’nt have a good view of her leaving the house. We did get to follow the cars progress to the jail. The Chairman was not mentioned again .
Perhaps another “beerfest” photo-op in the Rose Garden followed by a special tour of the White House?
Her sense of entitlement takes my breath away. Her use of “lease” instead of “least” in her Tweet sounds like drunk texting.
Next thing you know, we will be hearing of people calling 911 because their McDonald’s french fries are cold…….oh wait……never mind.

Another voice added to the list, which includes General Clark and Labor Secretary Reich, indicating that a coup has taken place in the U.S.eh?

Well isn’t she special!
Now ask yourself what if the President took her plight seriously and was egregiously offended by the officer doing his duty to charge someone with DUI in protecting greater society from an (allegedely) drunk starlet?
That joke about drones isn’t so funny now nor is the power to assassinate citizens without substantive due process now, is it?
Ironic isn’t the right word, but I do find it funny that this Hollywood halfwit’s plea highlights the dangers of the ever expanding unitary Executive power.

Only if the facts show that Ms. Byrne is a supporter of the President and the officer likes Romney.
She was only standing her ground obviously:

More cases in Florida similar to Marissa Alexanders. Horrific.
