As a parent, this video of middle school students taunting a grandmother Karen Klein, 68, on a school bus is nothing short of revolting. The grandmother was on the bus as a monitor and is reduced to tears by the cruel comments and threats of the children. The bus belongs to the Greece Central School District in New York.
Police are now reviewing the video but I do not see why this is a criminal matter. It is a serious school matter. The students involved in this episode show an alarming degree of antisocial and threatening conduct — even for teenagers. I was left wondering how these children were raised and what the reaction of the parents will be to this video. The school’s reaction should be hand out suspensions and expulsions.

This is quite likely second-degree harassment under New York Penal Code, Section 240.26. It is a crime to put your hands on someone, or touch them in any way without their consent for the purpose of annoying them. In this case the touching was, not only uninvited, but done with the clear intent of publicly humiliating and harassing the victim. When someone repeatedly taunts, bullies and then puts their hands on one of your family member’s fat rolls or hearing aids, then you will think differently about whether or not this is a criminal act.
This kind of behavior is common across american schools, but thats only a greater indictment on the average parent and the average kids that attend school in our society.
Sure she was a bus monitor and obviously there is no respect. Someone said how can she be a bus monitor with no respect? A better question is how can she be a bus monitor with no authority to deal with wastes of flesh/bones like these kids.
Respect should not be needed. It doesn’t matter what these waste of space ingrates “think” of her. What matter is what tools she has to force them into submission so they can at least feign civility even though they are savages and evidently there are no tools and the shite for brains kids know it.
What is she supposed to do? spank them? threaten them with what? Report that the kids called her fata s s more times than I can count to some other neutered adult after the fact? At the least she would be embarrassed to even report such things to another adult.
To me this is one example of the the result of the neutered politically correct society that so many have foisted in schools and in homes. These kids can do/say whatever they want because they have no punishment to fear and the authority figures/bus monitors are absolutely powerless/toothless to force a stop to what I see as clear cut criminal assault and sexual harassment
They talked about pooping, pissing, cu m m ing in her mouth. Urinating on her door, vandalizing her house, sicking their dog on her to eat her fat, need I go on? Just listen to everything they actually say
I can’t imagine them being able to say anything more provoking than the poison they are spewing over and over and over again.
And the sad thing is…if she had slapped those boys she would have probably gone to jail for battery. Good job america at keeping the a s s holes safe while the weak/helpless are egged on to commit suicide
Lets not give these kids a pass on calling them sociopath/psychopath as if they are just sick like the flu. Lets call them what they are in reality which are true blue “wicked people”.
Well if they made threats, maybe the cops do need to get involved.
If the kids can’t behave on the bus, let them start walking to school. For that matter, the rule should be – kids acting up on the bus – bus makes a detour to the police station to drop off the trouble makers and the parents can go pick them up. The school can ban them from the bus and the parents can drive them or they can walk.
It was a group activity. The entire group needs to be taken to police headquarters and questioned, one at a time, while the rest wait in lockup. Every brat needs some time in jail if for no other reason than to understand that bratty behavior can get you into real trouble. Yeah, the parents will sue for illegal detention of their precious bundles.
ok, so suspension will get the attention of the parents. So will loss of bus transportation. It’s the end of the school year, so big yip.
Most schools hold summer school, so how about withholding their grades until some summertime detention is served? Then they can abuse the detention monitor – the biggest, strictest, most grammatically correct teacher they can find who gives them assignments like, “what is bullying?” “What is respect?” “Is what you did bullying or was it respect? Explain.”
This needs to stop its horrific what this poor woman had to endure and the lack of respect children have these day to there elders not to mention no one. My question is where was the school all this time and how many times has this happened not to mention not only to this adult but what to say the protection and where was the authority to protect the rest of the children on the bus from these beasts. Who’s to say it was not happening to them. If the adult felt scared and intimidated then what was happening to the others that has not yet been told. To top it off these kids are not being prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. We continue to say they are children but the aren’t they are animals we are not creating children any longer but animals. These are not actions of children and if they don’t behave as such they should have to suffer the consequences within the fullest extent of the law or else they will do it again!!!!! Enough is enough!!!
Woosty,
Yeah, they hit her but she only felt one blow then realized after watching the tape that there had been more than one. The blow wasn’t that hard she said.
Amazingly enough the kid who shot the video did so at the request of his friends, the bullies, though he says he did not take part in the verbal abuse. These numbnuts hoisted themselves with their own petard.
I wonder how these kids treat their own grandparents … and I wonder what plans they have for their parents once old age sets in?
Their parents have a lot to be worried about.

the rapist????
{{{((anon))}}} there, there…..
I know what yoiu mean.Therapists allow an evil spirit in them. They long to find a human to accuse them of bad.
That bus is full of humans like the kids that got mauled by a she bear in the old testament. Those kids need to repent sayinmgt they are sorry to that woman.
OTOT To urinate or not…..!
Huffington Post has headlined “Weird” news from Sweden. A common concern for both women and men, especially men. Or??? You can even be polled on your “position”.

We allow idiot therapists to tell us that any amount, any amount no matter how minimal of parental supervision of their children is dangerous to these precious snowflakes and then we incentivize idiot evil lawyers to sue school districts and jail parents over the slightest.
Finally we are shocked shocked that our brave little flies and butterflies turn into monsters. SO WE MUST JAIL THEM.
I once had an conversation with a therapist in marriage counseling that went very close to this:
Therapist: “Did your parents ever spank you?”
Me: “Yes, on occasion”
Therapist: “How often?”
Me: “Oh I don’t know, I don’t remember more than one occasion”
The rapist: “Oh, it must’ve been more than that! Think!”
Me: “Beats me, I honestly don’t remember it ever occurring more than once”
The rapist: “Come on”
Me: “Okay, let’s say a couple of times when I was a kid and acting horribly, my mother would say wait till my dad gets home, and then she would have him spank me”
The rapist: “Horrors! Your father beat you!”
I don’t see how this is NOT a criminal matter. The language, verbal abuse, sexual and physical violence threatened make it a criminal matter. That is one of the major problems, lack of discipline and fear of punishment overall in this society. If kids want to act like immoral abusive animals they need to be held accountable. School suspension? Really? As if that would hurt these animals any. Talking to their parents? Really? Good chance their parents aren’t any better. Believe me I’ve met parents of kids that are just like that, trailer trash. Schools do nothing about bullying. I’ve dealt with principals, guidance counselors, nothing is ever done to the bully, they get a day or two suspension big freaking deal. The driver should have pulled over and thrown their asses out onto the street. But oh wait the driver probably would have gotten fired for doing what would have been the right thing.
I knew some Precious Blood Sisters who would have had a field day with these children and the their parents would have caught holy hell next.
“Personally, if I had acted that way to an elderly bus monitor as a kid, I’d have caught seven shades of Hell at home.”
——————————————-
It was not tolerated in my town by parents OR the schools..The kid would have been put off the bus for a predetermined time and the parents would have to assume transportation duty….
am I the only one that saw that those brats actually hit her?
that is assault, or battery or something pretty damn serious and you can harken back to parents all you like the problem has manifested…and needs to be addressed beyond the scope of ‘suggestion’….
sheesh…

and you can’t tell parents they can’t discipline their kids and then say “It’s all your fault”….
😛
Woosty:
What Gene said.
“Police are now reviewing the video but I do not see why this is a criminal matter.”
************************
Were any of these children to steal a dollar candy bar with a mischievous intent from a corner convenience store, would we have any difficulty referring the case to the juvenile authorities for punishment? Why then the trepidation when we witness a theft of this kindly woman’s dignity with malicious intent by the same children?
Tells us a lot about what we value.

Love the new gravatar btw. 😀
id707,
“You can NOT wait until school to address these socializing problems. Too late.”
Yep. If you allow school to do that role of parenting, you inevitably end up with a “Lord of the Flies” scenario. The same thing happens when parents let television raise their children as well in addition to the damage created by children getting the impression that people in real life act as they do on television (and face the often unrealistic TV outcomes of said behavior).

“The Law has its head up its ass”
Sometimes it does, but I have to agree with raff and OS that brining the courts into this matter would only complicate things needlessly as no one was physically attacked. OS’ suggestion of bringing DCS into the matter though is a good one. Someone needs to look in to the family lives of those lil’ terrors to address any root problems in their home environments that resulted in this maladaptive behavior. Personally, if I had acted that way to an elderly bus monitor as a kid, I’d have caught seven shades of Hell at home.
It is not a criminal matter, it is a parental matter.
————————————————————
Most parents who have kids in public schools are both working (if there are 2 parents)….and since it is a criminal matter if your kid is truant why wouldn’t assault, battery or threatening be? Those little creeps didn’t just taunt and bully, they put hands on….
It most certainly IS a criminal matter…..that woman was terrorized. Why was the bus not stopped? The police not called? These days you can read about children brutalizing other children on buses, getting raped on school buses by peers, kids are committing suicide because everyone thinks its more important to chase after the steroiders in sports than Assault School America, Inc.
The Law has its head up its ass……
