13,000,000

Thirty minutes ago, our blog passed the 13,000,000 view mark. The fact that we passed 12 million recently shows how fast the blog continues to grow. Congratulations everyone.

We are expanding at a remarkable rate not just in the United States but abroad. In the last twenty four hours, our five biggest international participants became from England, Canada, Australia, Sweden, and India (in that order with England as the number one contributing country).

I wanted to thank our weekend bloggers: David Drumm, Mark Esposito, Gene Howington, Michael Spindell, Eliane Magliaro, Mike Appleton, and Larry Rafferty. I wanted to particularly thank our contributors. This blog offers a unique mix of views from people committed to civil discussion of the major issues of our time. While we often disagree, we offer a place for reasonable and respectful debate. I am incredibly grateful to all of our regulars. In the last 24 hours, the most active commentators were Idealist707, Matt Johnson, Nick Spindelli, Malisha, Dredd, Elaine M, and Darren Smith.

Thanks everyone and congratulations on reaching another milestone!

    Dredd,

Was that meeting expected criticism in the door?
I am trying to refrain myself.

    I’m not sure …

  2. idealist,

I believe in reading extensively on subjects that I write posts about and comment upon. I post excerpts from and links to articles, blog posts, and opinion pieces that I find informative and/or interesting because I think other people may find them to be informative and/or interesting too. I think we have too many members of the media who just parrot politicians’ talking points and do little investigative reporting. We also have a surfeit of pundits/talking heads who also parrot the same talking points and provide us with their personal opinions.

  3. Congrats to all of you for bringing intelligent, thoughtful and sometimes, funny pieces to us. Mr. Turley, your opinions and interpretations on all manner of law are superb!! No wonder you have been the “go to guy” for analysis. Thank you, you erudite man. By the way, any thoughts on the Lance Armstrong case. I know it has been beat to death in the media, but your cool take is appreciated.

  4. Can’t we recruit some muslim women with modern views and experience of Iran, etc.? There are many who qualify but law does not attract them perhaps.
Don’t believe they are allowed to study Shariah at the madrasahs.

  5. ElaineM.,

I try to help, but I refuse to go trans for the cause.
Not that I have much use of what I have left.

I wish you would write more and quote less,if necessary. Your writings, when not replying to attacks, are interesting.

  8. Generally this is a nice place to visit – one of the few where I will voluntarily read the comment thread! Thanks to the prof for opening the doors & keeping the light on for us. Thanks to all of you who make the threads not only pleasant but often educational.

  9. … oops … did we leave out Gene H … ????

  11. Makes me proud to be associated with such a distinguished and recognized blog. And bloggers. After all, we’re Number One!

OK, enough self-congratulations people, back to work. Sharpen up that wit and writing instruments and look for legal snark behind every bush and tree.

  12. This is the real deal….. And you heard it from the voice above….. On the blog of course….
