Pakistani Minister Puts Bounty On Head Of Anti-Muslim Filmmaker; Calls On Taliban or Al Qaeda To Collect the $100,000 Reward

Railway Minister Ghulam Ahmad Bilour has put a $100,000 bounty on the head of Nakoula Basseley Nakoula, the man who made the anti-Islamic film “The Innocence of Muslims.” The offer to pay anyone who kills the filmmaker is reminscent of the Fatwa placed on the head of Salman Rushdie for his book, The Satanic Verses. However, this is not just a government official but an official in the government of a U.S. ally calling for the murder of a U.S. citizen. Yet, Bilour insisted “I am a Muslim first, then a government representative.”

Bilour also sought to enlist the Taliban and al Qaeda to carry out the assassination. Thus, in addition to wanting to be a murderer, Bilour wants to be a coconspirator with terrorists . . . when he is not managing trains as a government minister. He is a member of the Awami National Party. Sen. Zahid Khan, a spokesman for Bilour’s political party, insists that “we have lots of concerns over the statement of our colleague.” Since it is a confession of wanting to be both a murderer working with terrorist organizations, those “concerns” would seem considerable. The government itself has distanced itself from the comments but has not stated that it is taking steps to remove Bilour from any position of responsibility. Notably, his own party is viewed as anti-Taliban.

The question is whether Bilour will be immediately thrown from the government and his party. It seems odd that blasphemy is immediately subject to criminal charge in Pakistan, but a minister can try to hire terrorist hitmen and raise only initial “concerns” among party and government officials.

  1. hate to point this out but i think we’ve pretty much lost the moral high ground on this.

  2. Since this has been dubbed by some as a “freedom of speech” thread, I feel free to speak.

Reading in Wiki, not much happening here or elsewhere, I note that the history of the ME records fractionating and strife since about 8,000 BC.

And in my urges to achieve peace through understanding each other, I looked to see what Yom Kippur is in Wiki.
In case some need a little knowledge and has need of acquiring more they can check it out there.
Meanwhiile, a little excerpt from Wikipedia:

“Yom Kippur is the tenth day of the month of Tishrei. According to Jewish tradition, God inscribes each person’s fate for the coming year into a book, the Book of Life, on Rosh Hashanah, and waits until Yom Kippur to “seal” the verdict. During the Days of Awe, a Jew tries to amend his or her behavior and seek forgiveness for wrongs done against God (bein adam leMakom) and against other human beings (bein adam lechavero). The evening and day of Yom Kippur are set aside for public and private petitions and confessions of guilt (Vidui). At the end of Yom Kippur, one hopes that they have been forgiven by God.”

    Worth reflecting over I believe.

  3. Must have been christians buying and selling.
Muslims regard dogs as filth. They won’t even soil their feet by kicking one. Are there many Christians there—or were they Chinese or Koreans?

  4. There was a film on Pakistan which showed dogs being sold in markets for food consumption by humans. If that sumitchinBay comes over here to the UN I will put a big bite on his rear end.

  5. Unspoken in all of this is that Obama AGREES with Bilour. And as for any Infidels trying to hide behind the First Amendment, they should be forced to spend 600 hours of Muslim sensitivity training over a 3-year period.

  6. I wish Turley would have been clear that the guy was speaking only for himself and not the Pakistani government and that the supposed source of the bounty was this guy’s own pocket. I’d wonder whether this guy has even close to $100,000.

  7. Our American women are patriotic.
They pay both for their P-pills and my Viagra.

Ours work the streets. The customers don’t need Viagra and she comes home with the condoms they give her. Very satisfied, so I can get my rest.

Mine does too, although she tells the neigbors it is in a kindergarten.

    Et cetera.

  8. We have ministerial immunity here.

    Right, so do we.

In our case it applies after it ceases officially after leaving office, without one needing a Nixon-type pardon.

American is best. Told you so.

    Our food is better.

    Our hamburgers are better.

    Our women are hotter.

    Ours are!

    !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!………

  9. If the Republicans can, then so can I. Yeah, right.

We don’t have lockstep parties here. Right.

Freedom of speech, and no imminent danger. Right.

My illogical and possibly illegal response is no worse than yours’. Right.

You give me money, I no push nuke button. Right.

We provide cushy, no-op no-risk good food and service environnment for CIA. Even can be bought off when one goes on shooting rampage killing civilians.
OK! You’ll get an aid lift. 2 billion more. Solved.

  10. Those who kill in the name of the Prophet or to redeem his so called good name will not fare well when their time comes. As for the Pirate territory,, geographically described as Pakistan, pull out now, stop all money in the form of “aid”, remove all diplomats, and tell Blackwater and the other Cheney companies that their time for making money off of the American taxpayer for some purported purpose in the Pirate territories is over. Same with Afghanistan and all the other Stans. We can put a price on the head of Pirates too. This schmucko named Bilo in the Paki Pirate territory needs one on his head or his rear end.

  11. Hey buddy take a ticket and step in line…….It is our governments duty to kill the citizens before anyone else takes a stab at them….. They have immunity……you don’t……

  12. Breaking news : Update FYI
The Pakistani Government refused GAB’s offer.
Anyway not soo long ago, it was common practice in USA to put out ransom on someone and take the law in their own hands, Dead or Alive style. As a matter of fact its pretty much alive today on high levels too…..

  13. Here is yet another example of why you separate state and religion. Those who want us to forgo that bit of the Constitution should be aware that the end point for us will look a lot more like Pakistan or Iran than Gods Holy City.
