Pastor and Radio Host Kevin Swanson Says Disney’s Movie “Frozen” Is a Satanic Push to Turn Kids Gay

Submitted by Elaine Magliaro, Weekend Contributor

Kevin Swanson, a pastor and host of Religious Right, voiced his criticisms of Disney’s blockbuster movie Frozen on his radio program last month. Swanson claimed that the animated movie pushes an agenda “to indoctrinate homosexuality and bestiality in children.” He told his co-host Steve Vaughn that Satan was using the movie “to indoctrinate my 5-year-old to be a lesbian.” Both men posited some theories about the film’s “progressive” agenda even though neither had actually seen the film.

Swanson and Vaughn claimed that the movie’s Oscar-winning song “Let It Go” was “a coming out song, marking the moment when Elsa realizes she was ‘born that way’ and accepts who she is.” They also pointed out that in the movie the “fiercely independent” character Elsa “never considers a male suitor…” What is a logical person to assume? Elsa MUST be a lesbian…right???

But those aren’t the only problems that Swanson and Vaughn find with the movie Frozen. They feel that Jonathan Groff’s character has an “unnatural relationship” with his animal companion, Sven. And Jonathan’s close relationship with his animal friend opens children up to bestiality at a young age…right???

Swanson: Man, how many children are taken into these things and how many Christians are taking their kids off to see the movie Frozen, produced by an organization that is probably one of the most pro-homosexual organizations in the country? You wonder sometimes, I’m not a tinfoil hat conspiratorialist, but you wonder sometimes if maybe there’s something very evil happening here. If I was the Devil, what would I do to really foul up an entire social system and do something really, really, really evil to 5- and 6- and 7-year-olds in Christian families around America?

Vaughn: I would make a movie.

If this isn’t enough insanity for you, you might want to check out some of the other things that Swanson and Vaughn said about the children’s movie Frozen at Right Wing Watch’s post Swanson: Disney’s ‘Frozen’ Is A Satanic Push To Turn Kids Gay.

  1. This was a great flick. Religious and non religious people are always saying idiotic things about movies. Ignoring them is the best way to handle it. Some folks just don’t know how to ignore. It is a powerful tool that takes self esteem, self discipline and patience.

  2. Whoa! At least it’s not a movie that’s a ‘Satanic’ push to turn kids Christian….. That would actually be harmful!

  3. I have not seen the movie yet and am set to see it with the granddaughter of a friend and the friend. However, without taking sides on this issue, we do know that Obama administration has pushed TV shows to push Obamacare and last week Bones was pushing Medical Marijuana. Certain directors try to push their politics into the film to make a larger message. Film is a very powerful medium, children are a very vulnerable audience. Don’t dismiss this too early.

  4. Amazing how many “leaders” hear voices that normal people cannot hear.

I suggest that those “leaders” wear a tinfoil hat so that we can recognize them at a distance.

  5. Carlton – since I have no other way to contact you, I am going to recommend a book to you, based on our discussions. Escape from Camp 14 by Blaine Harden. I am reading it for my non-fiction reading club.

  6. Satan is losing my respect. Once promised as the omnipotent incarnate of evil, he has allowed himself to be reduced to selling out to Disney and only given corporate table scraps to feed his deviant or vulnerable audiences. I have always expected more.

Sadly for him, it seems he is on his way to suffer the same fall from fame that other, promising stars have endured. Maybe he could find a kindred spirit in the afterlife such as Gary Coleman who suffered an equal downfall.

  7. I’ve seen the movie. It was wonderful. There was one particular line that set it apart from basically any fairy tale from Hans Christian Anderson: “You can’t marry a man you just met.” One of the themes involved testing character and overcoming fear.

This reminds me of when people claimed Harry Potter was a subversive plot without reading it.

Sure, moviemakers insert political agendas into films all the time. But the messages in this one were entirely positive for kids.

  8. This ignorance (of the radio host and pastor) is similar to non-christian(s), people of different faiths/religions, and/or atheists or agnostics making fun of Christianity and/or misinterpreting the Bible, without first reading AND studying the Bible.

  9. Satan had a big role in Fantasia, Disney’s first full-length animated movie. I still remember his image.

  10. What is making women turn into lesbians is the tradition of men dominating and oppressing women. It is simply more comfortable, more fun, less stressful to live with another woman.

Similarly for men, it is more comfortable to live with someone with similar interests, similar ideas of appropriate lifestyle, similar experiences.

Heterosexual couples historically followed a cultural norm to get hitched, stay together, and reproduce even though they would have preferred the easier lifestyle of living with a same sex person.

Today people should be able to live in the most comfortable relationships, without cultural restrictions. With that in mind we are likely to see heterosexual marriages become the minority.

  11. Don’t we ever get tired of this religious bickering. It has been going on since time immemorial. Same questions – same answers – same rebuttal. Isn’t there a better way to spend time & get something done ?

  12. So that’s how they do it. I always thought they took them out and got them drunk.

If the technique is that effective could we please have the CIA get in touch with Disney for a film to show around the middle east and settle things right down?

  13. Aarghh! I am so sick and tired of these crazed religious zealots turning everything under the sun into Satan’s attempt to lure the world into the flaming depths of hell! I mean, last year Jehovah’s Witnesses produced videos that demonized children’s toys and robots and now this!

  14. doglover – you could not be more wrong. If you follow the LGBT literature you are born that way. You are not oppressed into lesbianism. And it is not less stressful to live with another woman. The number of domestic incidents in homosexual couples is higher than you seem to think. If it were all hunky-dory, why would we already be having divorces between same-sex couples and paternity fights between same sex couples.
Statistically somewhere between 5-10% of the population is LGBT. With those statistics it is going to take something like the plague wiping out the heterosexual community for them to become the minority.

  15. Paul-
Yes. I know that folks are born with a wide array of gender preference. I’m just saying, no matter what you are born with, after a brief bout of lust most people prefer to hang out with their own gender.

  16. I have never seen such a preoccupation with sex as the church people. This is truly the most idiotic accusations ever. Who cares, anyway?

  17. Just to play ‘Devils Advocate here’, I wonder how many of you that have commented so far are religious at all. Who here believes in God?

    I am honestly asking.

  18. I have seen the movie. Loved it! Now how much money was the pastor expecting to rake in from this outburst of idiocy.
By the way Kevin, Christ called: You’re fired.

  19. I would be more likely to be leave that Satan is using 24 to brainwash Americans in thinking that tour true is ok.

  20. SMH,

Interesting links! I don’t know if I agree with all the info (I only read the disney section). It (the book/section on disney) does fall into the category of conspiracy theory? 13 Families control our country? Mickey Mouse sole purpose was to promote witchcraft and/or sorcery? Mighty Mouse was a cocaine user?

  21. SMH,

I forgot to add: or maybe the entire book emanates theories of social control? Do you have a better plan to socially control 300 million+ people, while allowing them to drink and eat whatever and whenever their hearts desire; carry any type of weapon they choose; say whatever floats their boat; use, sell, and/or consume any form of drugs (both legal and illegal), and legally allow individuals to cause physical and mental harm to oneself? How do you (or anyone) create a plan to socially control millions of people while allowing so many ‘freedoms’ or ‘rights’?

    Answer: USA

  22. I think you left out a most important fact. Allegedly, neither Swanson nor Vaughn ever watched Frozen. I hate reviews by people who never even watched the movie.

The gay agenda, the feminist agenda, and the race agenda is in almost everything Hollywood produces. There is nothing particularly special about Frozen in this regard. What makes Frozen unique is its ability to inspire children to sing, especially girls. I thought it was a great movie, destined to be a classic, and I immediately purchased it when it was released for home purchase. All of my children loved the movie.

  23. ShakingMyHead,
Your conclusion is a Post Hoc, Ergo Propter Hoc logical fallacy.

When Jesus Christ Superstar played at the coliseum at Ole Miss for a single performance, the place was packed. However, there was a push from a number of fundy churches in the Oxford area to picket the show. They seemed proud of the fact they had not only not seen a film of the show or listened to the music, but had no intention of learning any more about it. Ticket holders had to run a gauntlet of picketers holding signs that spoke more hate and bigotry than love and mercy. On top of everything else, the role of Jesus was played by a (gasp!) black actor. As for my wife and me, the music was powerful and moving, and the play a home run.

  24. A story from the past:

Movie Selection of the Fittest: Creationists Block Internationally Acclaimed Movie on Darwin From Being Shown in U.S.
    By Jonathan Turley

In an act of utter cowardice, United States distributors appear to be caving into a creationist campaign to bar the movie Creation on the life of Charles Darwin. The film explores his loss of faith following the death of his beloved 10-year-old daughter, Annie.

The film has been the target of creationists, who remind distributors that only 39 percent of Americans believe in evolution. Jeremy Thomas, the producer of Creation, notes “[t]he film has no distributor in America. It has got a deal everywhere else in the world but in the US, and it’s because of what the film is about. People have been saying this is the best film they’ve seen all year, yet nobody in the US has picked it up.”

  25. Carlton – do you know that over the years a number of actors playing Judas in ‘Jesus Christ Superstar’ have hung themselves?
Did you see the Reno 911! where they are called to the apt complex where the cast of Jesus Christ Superstar is staying and Judas narcs on Jesus and the rest of the cast for doing drugs, because they are playing the music too loud and he needs to sleep?

  26. David, You are so right about Frozen inspiring girls to sing. We had friends visit us in San Diego last month. They have 5 year old twin girls. The girls sang the title song constantly. Thankfully, it’s a great song!!

  27. Diane Feinstein went all Gene Siskel thumbs down on Zero Dark Thirty all the while attacking the First Amendment rights of bloggers. Indeed Paul, it goes both ways but in the case of Feinstein, Orwellian and hypocritical. She had not seen the flick when she criticized it, only “heard” how it portrayed torture.

  28. David and Charlton – you are so right. It’s a shame and a bit ludicrous when someone reviews a movie or musical they’ve never even seen.

  29. And it’s true – Frozen does inspire girls (and women) to sing. I kept singing Let it Go, which is unfortunate, because when I sing it sounds like someone stepped on a cat’s tail.:)

  30. Pastor Kevin Swanson Slams Honey Maid’s ‘Wholesome’ Ad, Compares Being Gay To Murder, Cannibalism
    The Huffington Post

    Posted: 04/14/2014

Nabisco’s controversial Honey Maid commercial depicting a same-sex couple is continuing to spark the ire of a number of conservative pundits.

As Right Wing Watch is reporting, Pastor Kevin Swanson of Colorado is the latest to take the company to task over the “Wholesome” graham cracker ad campaign.

In a Generations Radio broadcast, Swanson went as far as to compare homosexuality to “axe murder” and cannibalism, before predicting that Nabisco was “going to lose business” in the wake of the campaign.

“When you come down to things like axe murder or homosexuality and you say, ‘We’re really going to promote it and we’re going to encourage everybody in America to engage in this or at least support this thing,’ there will be people on the other side who will take an adamantly opposed position to your support of axe murdering or homosexuality,” he said. “They will be intolerant — they will be very intolerant of that which is evil, like axe murdering.”

Swanson, whose opposition to lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) rights is well-established, didn’t stop there, suggesting that the company might follow up the ad with a clip promoting bestiality.

“Maybe they had another family where a dog is the wife with a human husband,” he said, before adding, “Homosexuals love their friends and cannibals love their victims — they taste good.”
