Ferguson Officer Suspended After Captured On Video Pointing Weapon At Protesters and Threatening To Kill Them

1408576057271_wps_9_UPDATE_The_St_Ann_Police_The St. Louis County Police Department has announced the suspension of an officer who was seen pointing a semi-automatic assault rifle at a Ferguson, Missouri, protester and threatening to kill him. The confrontation occurred during the protests and looting following the shooting of Michael Brown by Ferguson Police Officer Darren Wilson. [Warning: foul language]

The confrontation was caught on video, as shown below. The officer can be seen walking around with his assault rifle raised and pointing the weapon at protesters while saying “I’m going to fucking kill you. Get back. Get back.” When asked for his name, the officer is heard to say “Go fuck yourself.” He was later led away by another officer who appeared to get him to lower his weapon.

The police issued a statement that”The unified command strongly feel these actions are inappropriate, and not indicative of the officers who have worked daily to keep the peace.”

He has been “relieved of duty and suspended indefinitely”

  1. Max, I agree tasers are probably torture, but at least the victim/perp might have a chance of coming out of it alive.

Any people no matter how numerous or their justification, who advocate the wholesale anniahilation of another people, race, or religion are beset by evil, and if they take concrete steps to execute that desire then they are intrisically evil. It matters not what education, ideology, or propoganda leads them to this. Yes they are victims of evil as well, but as the arms of evil they bear responsibility.

    This same dehumanizing led to Rwanda too, again in a spasm of evil.

    This does not mean they may not be rehabilitated, it means that their intent and their actions to carry it out is simply evil. Intrisically evil.

    The core of the spasm of Evil in Europe, was not simply antisemitic thought, but Eugenics. The thought that like we do with animal species, that ours would be improved if we kept those less than human from breeding or simply culled them from the herd. The thought that some are sub-human ;and correspondingly that some must be super human).

    Eugenics was quite popular in the US prior to WWII. It was only when we saw the horrors of it realized that it began to be rejected as a philosophy here. It has not been rejected everywhere however.

    There wasn’t a New York, and other big northeastern cities back in Jesus’s day. They were settled by Europeans about 1,600 years, later. Therefore, it would be problematic characterizing him as a Northeastern Liberal Jew. He also lived way before firearms, gun control, the Democratic Party, and the advent of The Great Society. I hope this helps you!

    I have not had to go to war outside this nation. My husband has so I do have a real understanding of how utterly terrifying that situation can be. I have been on the other side from the police during protest. I was scared and I’m certain that must be scary to a police officer as well.

    The difference is in how peace officers are trained to react to volatile situations. In special forces training, one is supposed to learn how to keep calm and control one’s emotions, to include fear, so that one may best react to a situation that might get out of control. Even local police forces have available training in diffusing situations when confronting someone who has a mental illness or another kind of illness which makes them appear violent, when this may not be the case. It takes a strong mind and a good heart to walk into a situation where one is scared and try to diffuse it. There are those kind of police and soldiers. They are to be admired and commended, IMO.

    We did not see that in action here. If you read the various manuals that have leaked on dealing w/domestic protesters (such as occupy) you will see everything that you are now seeing in Ferguson. I hope you might have time to real through this information because it is not about serving and protecting, it is about destroying the opponent, up to and including assassination of occupy protesters. We thus have moved out of the realm of police work and into the suppression and repression of citizens. I’m sorry that this seems to be acceptable to you because no citizen’s rights can be maintained under what is, in effect, a police state.

  16. Shoplift two sodas… 12 shots dead in 23 seconds.
    The young man was known to the local community to have mental issues.
    I see this as a larger disturbing trend of a disenfranchised people with nothing to live for. His attitude was one of, “what are they gonna do, shoot me?”

    In fact, that was his exact response when the police pull up lacked and loaded ready to kill on site.

    1. Max-1 – there is ‘death by police’ a form of suicide for those to chicken to kill themselves.
