The St. Louis County Police Department has announced the suspension of an officer who was seen pointing a semi-automatic assault rifle at a Ferguson, Missouri, protester and threatening to kill him. The confrontation occurred during the protests and looting following the shooting of Michael Brown by Ferguson Police Officer Darren Wilson. [Warning: foul language]
The confrontation was caught on video, as shown below. The officer can be seen walking around with his assault rifle raised and pointing the weapon at protesters while saying “I’m going to fucking kill you. Get back. Get back.” When asked for his name, the officer is heard to say “Go fuck yourself.” He was later led away by another officer who appeared to get him to lower his weapon.
The police issued a statement that”The unified command strongly feel these actions are inappropriate, and not indicative of the officers who have worked daily to keep the peace.”
He has been “relieved of duty and suspended indefinitely”

That is sooo true! I can’t believe these women who go jogging alone in the woods, or riding bikes at 2:00 AM, or walking home from bars alone. Or go home with some john they just met at the bar. My goodness, but a little common sense goes a long way.

I wonder what Ferguson PD might say would be the appropriate response by Darren Wilson if Michael Brown had pointed a rifle at Wilson and said: “I’m going to f****** kill you.”
What type of self defense would have been justified? Would it have been lethal force? Would it have even been a close call? What if Brown had been making that threat and pointing the gun at many people?
“The government is simply too big for President Obama to keep track of all the wrongdoing taking place on his watch, his former senior adviser, David Axelrod, told MSNBC. “Part of being president is there’s so much beneath you that you can’t know because the government is so vast,” he explained.”
This would lead me to believe one of two things must be true: Either the Government is too big to be managed effectively by any Executive or this Executive is unqualified for this size of Government. In either case, the Peter Principle has been proven true.
The military takes the opposite approach on promotion. We would be required to successfully demonstrate we could perform the duties of the next higher paygrade before we were eligible for promotion. In government, it seems they promote until they reach that level of incompetence and unfortunately it is nearly impossible to get them out.

I just don’t see reports and stats that say being shot in the foot can kill you. I do often read about people being tasered and dying… A limp or a life. I’ll keep my life and opt for a limp.
