One of the stories making the news here in Italy is the arrest of Daniela Poggiali, 42, a nurse who is accused of killing at least 38 of her patients because she found them or their relatives to be annoying. She was initially charged in the death of an elderly patient and now police believe that she is a serial killer.
The case of Rosa Calderoni draw attention of the authorities because she been admitted for a routine illness and when she died there were high levels of potassium in her bloodstream. At least 10 other deaths are now being listed as “very suspicious”.
Prosecutor Rossella Materia called her a sadist who “who draws pleasure in provoking the death of the patients in her care.” One picture on her phone reportedly shows her giving a thumbs up next to when of her patients who had died seconds before. The public statements are an interesting dimension since Italy prosecutes people for criminal libel, as in the abusive case against the parents of Amanda Knox that we discussed earlier. While comments against the police can bring a charge, it clearly does not apply when prosecutors make such comments against individuals.
Even a colleague described her as a “cold person who was always eager to work.” This included the allegation from a co-worker that Poggiali would give patients strong laxatives at the end of her shift to make work more difficult for the nurses taking over.
Poggiali told police that she is innocent and the victim of a conspiracy by her enemies.
The case could prove very difficult given the length of time that has passed.

Perhaps there is some magical number of sockpuppets one must have before the threshold is reached in revealing who they are? I didn’t see that in the Civility Rules anywhere. It’s also not the first time I’ve been singled out for a paternalistic ‘scolding’ by Darren, while someone else was given a pass for extremely bad behavior.I found I incredibly personally insulting and rude.

That is a flat out lie. I will bold that LIE I have commented on that particular blog on occasion. However, the reason that most of those aforementioned people stopped commenting was due to the chaos caused ….well….. that is very similar to what is happening here that made the Blogress go to moderated comments. Moderated comments while it did stop the chaos, stifled the free flow of commentary and sadly has harmed what was a very lively interesting blog with intelligent and challenging commentary.
To my knowledge, there is one poster on that blog that has been banned by the hostess…..That person is not mentioned in Annie’s list. However, there is not a formal ban.
I have posted there on occasion several times. In the last week as a matter of fact. The lessening of my comments is mainly due to the moderation of comments that slows the conversation.
If you have to make up LIES to cover your bad actions here, then you are a sick sick person.

I had a girlfriend many years ago who was beautiful but used lies and manipulation to get me to do whatever she wanted, to get me to think of her however she felt was good for her at the moment. It took me a couple of years, but I finally wised up to her phony methods of control and escaped from her.
Strangely, the behavior of one individual on this blog, the contradictory statements and the complaints of unfair treatment, is igniting the same red warning lights on my control panel as way back then.
