“I Actually Discovered the Cure for AIDS”: Arizona Pastor Reveals Biblically Based Plan For An “AIDS-Free World by Christmas”

Screen Shot 2014-12-03 at 12.26.44 PMA series of videos of Baptist pastor Steven Anderson of the Faithful Word Baptist Church in Tempe, Arizona have gone viral as he talks about the solution of AIDS being the exterminations of all homosexuals and bisexual citizens. He explained that AIDS could be solved by Christmas with a simple holocaust for homosexuals. The videos are below.

Anderson takes off on this sermon to recognize “AIDS Awareness Day.” That led to his sermon entitled “AIDS: The Judgement of God” where he explains that Leviticus 20:13 compels the faithful to kill gay, lesbians, and bisexuals. He explains that, in his reading of the section, “I actually discovered the cure for AIDS.” Here is the thrust of his solution:

“If a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination: they shall surely be put to death. Their blood shall be upon them.”

Anderson added

“And that, my friend, is the cure for AIDS. It was right there in the Bible all along — and they’re out spending billions of dollars in research and testing. It’s curable — right there. Because if you executed the homos like God recommends, you wouldn’t have all this AIDS running rampant.”

What is chilling that Anderson refers to how many kids are in the audience as he spews this hateful sermon, including teaching them that “all homos are pedophiles” and screaming “No homos will ever be allowed in this church as long as I am pastor here.”

Anderson previously attracted attention by explaining why women have to be entirely silent in church. Not even an amen:

If your stomach can take it, here is the full sermon:

    1. Max-1 – I live in Arizona, not too far from his parish and I have never heard of him. Maybe he is more famous in liberal circles.

  1. “low information voter

I didn’t know we voted for obscure pastors.

Lefty concern trolling about Christianity is all about rooting out heretics to the SJW religion.

    1. Pogo – I don’t think this guy is as influential as Rev. Wright, our favorite racist pastor.

  2. Jack, I guess we should all just take your word for it that you are a ‘true’ Christian, even without your Christian ‘credentials’ and that you are qualified to speak for Christians of all denominations.

  3. Pogo, you never heard of Scott Lively? Really? Wow. I hate to call you low a low information voter, that would be unkind.

  4. Both the so-called “pastor” Steven Anderson and our own “Inga” (appearing multiple times above) are ignorant of Christianity. Anderson is, in addition, a terminal nut-case. Inga’s willful ignorance is at least curable.

  5. I have no problems with Christian religions that Glenn Beck calls “Social Justice churches” and tells people to “run away from”. They do good work, represent Christianity better than most.

  6. Karen,
The only people that pay any attention to this nutjob either support him or will use him to denounce ANY organized religion. It’s difficult at times telling the two apart.

  7. #Justice Holmes: Every adult in my church congregation pays taxes. Would you levy an additional tax on our Constitutional right to assemble? What other Constitutional rights would you tax? Just because some moron preaches blasphemy, that is no reason to tax everyone else.

  8. Lively: “However, …now America is experiencing the “forced participation in gay culture” and “punishment of all dissenters” is looming.

    Not inaccurate, that.

Pastor Scott Lively preaches homophobia world wide. For those who think this pastor and his church are anomaly, think again. These people are conservatives, not liberals. Conservatives own them until they denounce them loud and clear. There are those on the right who make excuses and minimize these haters. I bet there are Muslims that make excuses and minimize fundamentalist Muslims also, bothers non Muslms rightfully so.

  10. Sometimes pastors don’t seem very Christian. He certainly isn’t emulating Jesus, who saved an adulteress from stoning.

This is definitely a time when affirming the right of Free Speech is very hard. I despise his message, and cannot understand why anyone listens.

  11. He has a First Amendment right to free speech and is again protected as Religious Speech. I have no idea how his video went viral, but he clearly does not have a congregation worth mentioning. He doesn’t have enough members to storm the closest gay bar.

  12. Professor Turley,
You have an honored title in a profession that you consistently demonstrate deserves to be recognized. That being said, this man is being recognized with a title in a profession that he CLEARLY DOES NOT deserve. Just identify him for what he is; INSANE!
